In this paper, we generalize some aspects of this model to the Reissner Nordstrom (RN) like geometries with large extra dimensions. Bacterial biofilms are more resilient to standard killing methods than free-living bacteria. Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 biofilms grown on borosilicate coupons were treated with gas-discharge plasma for various exposure times. Almost 100% of the cells were inactivated after a 5-min plasma exposure. Atomic force microscopy was used to image the biofilms and study their micromechanical properties. Results show that the adhesiveness to borosilicate and the thickness of the Pseudomonas biofilms are reduced upon plasma treatment. 相似文献

Hydrogenated amorphous SiC films (a-Si1−xCx:H) were prepared by dc magnetron sputtering technique on p-type Si(1 0 0) and corning 9075 substrates at low temperature, by using 32 sprigs of silicon carbide (6H-SiC). The deposited a-Si1−xCx:H film was realized under a mixture of argon and hydrogen gases. The a-Si1−xCx:H films have been investigated by scanning electronic microscopy equipped with an EDS system (SEM-EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), secondary ions mass spectrometry (SIMS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UV-vis-IR spectrophotometry, and photoluminescence (PL). XRD results showed that the deposited film was amorphous with a structure as a-Si0.80C0.20:H corresponding to 20 at.% carbon. The photoluminescence response of the samples was observed in the visible range at room temperature with two peaks centred at 463 nm (2.68 eV) and 542 nm (2.29 eV). In addition, the dependence of photoluminescence behaviour on film thickness for a certain carbon composition in hydrogenated amorphous SiC films (a-Si1−xCx:H) has been investigated. 相似文献

Several alternative approaches to quantum gravity problem suggest the modification of the fundamental volume ω0 of the accessible phase space for representative points. This modified fundamental volume has a novel momentum dependence. In this paper, we study the effects of this modification on the thermodynamics of an ideal gas within the micro-canonical ensemble and using the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP). A kinetic method for measuring the relative rates of hydroxylation of naphthalene derivatives/cyclohexene has been developed. With this technique a linear relationship between the logarithm of the rates of oxidation products and the oxidation potentials of the naphthalene derivatives has been observed. Plots of σ Hammett and σ+ Hammett–Brown with logarithm of relative rates have been linear and shown ρ = −0.98 and ρ+ = −0.58, respectively. This contrast aromatic oxidation in protic solvents in which the oxidation products are naphthoquinones and provides further evidence for the intermediacy of carbocation in the hemin catalyzed hydroxylation of aromatic rings. 相似文献

The transient advection of a cylindrical vortex tube in a viscous incompressible flow field and its interaction with a rotating/spinning spherical particle has been investigated numerically at Reynolds numbers in the range of 20≤ Re≤200 for angular velocities of 0≤Ω≤0.5. The effects of vortex parameters such as size, circulation strength and initial position relative to the particle, on the temporal behavior of the lift and drag forces are studied. Vortex‐sphere interactions bring about major changes in the flow field particularly when coupled with particle rotation. It is observed that the forces acting on the particle are significantly influenced during the time that the vortex core is in the vicinity of the particle. The extent of these local changes are about ±30% in the drag coefficient and about ±200% in the lift coefficient as compared to flow over a rotating solid sphere with no vortex interaction. It is also found that a vortex with core radius between one and two particle diameters creates the strongest temporal variations in the lift and drag coefficients. Furthermore, maximum lift variations occur for the vortex‐particle head on collision, while a vortex with an offset distance of about one diameter from the principal flow axis generates the maximum drag variations. 相似文献
