A measurable relation algebra is a relation algebra in which the identity element is a sum of atoms that can be measured in the sense that the “size” of each such atom can be defined in an intuitive and reasonable way (within the framework of the first-order theory of relation algebras). A large class of examples of such algebras, using systems of groups and coordinated systems of isomorphisms between quotients of the groups, has been constructed. This class of group relation algebras is not large enough to exhaust the class of all measurable relation algebras. In the present article, the class of examples of measurable relation algebras is considerably extended by adding one more ingredient to the mix: systems of cosets that are used to “shift” the operation of relative multiplication. It is shown that, under certain additional hypotheses on the system of cosets, each such coset relation algebra with a shifted operation of relative multiplication is an example of a measurable relation algebra. We also show that the class of coset relation algebras does contain examples that are not representable as set relation algebras. In later articles, it is shown that the class of coset relation algebras is adequate to the task of describing all measurable relation algebras in the sense that every atomic measurable relation algebra is essentially isomorphic to a coset relation algebra, and the class of group relation algebras is similarly adequate to the task of representing all measurable relation algebras in which the associated groups are finite and cyclic. 相似文献

A relation algebra is called measurable when its identity is the sum of measurable atoms, where an atom is called measurable if its square is the sum of functional elements.In this paper we show that atomic measurable relation algebras have rather strong structural properties: they are constructed from systems of groups, coordinated systems of isomorphisms between quotients of the groups, and systems of cosets that are used to “shift” the operation of relative multiplication. We investigate Kerr–Newman black holes in which a rotating charged ring-shaped singularity induces a region which contains
closed timelike curves (CTCs). Contrary to popular belief, it turns out that the time orientation of the CTC is opposite to the direction in which the singularity or the ergosphere rotates. In this sense, CTCs “counter-rotate” against the rotating
black hole. We have similar results for all spacetimes sufficiently familiar to us in which rotation induces CTCs. This motivates
our conjecture that perhaps this counter-rotation is not an accidental oddity particular to Kerr–Newman spacetimes, but instead

In this work the evaluation of the most important transport coefficients (mobility, thermopower, Hall coefficient factor, Lorentz number, magnetoresistance, constant of transversal Nernst-Ettingshausen effect) in the case of combined scattering is presented for strongly degenerated semiconductors. Some relations also were found for the exponent of the energy dependence on relaxation time for polar scattering in case of mobility, Hall coefficient factor and thermopower. By means of Bethe-Sommerfeld series mean values for the two most frequent cases of combined scattering were determined, those for the acoustical mode and ionized impurity scattering and the longitudinal optical mode and ionized impurity scattering.We would like to thank professor E. We report the first observation of an ordered LEED pattern from the edge or prism surface of graphite. The surface structure was developed after in-situ gasification and is not equivalent to that resulting from any termination of the low index crystal planes of graphite.
