Antimicrobial polymeric composite films for medical use

Preparation of prolonged-action antimicrobial polymeric films based on polyvinyl alcohol and carboxymethyl cellulose sodium salt (Na-CMC), modified with chlorohexidine, is studied. Cubane pyridine-acetylacetonate cluster complexes with the M<Subscript>3</Subscript>CuS<Stack><Subscript>4</Subscript><Superscript>5+</Superscript></Stack> core (M = Mo,W)

The reactions between [Mo₃(μ₃-S)(μ₂-S)₃(Acac)₃(Py)₃]PF₆ (HAcac is acetylacetone, Py is pyridine) and CuX (X = Cl, I, SCN) afford heterometallic cubane clusters [Mo₃(CuX)(μ₃-S)₄(Acac)₃(Py)₃]PF₆. The structures of two new compounds, [Mo₃(CuCl)S₄(Acac)₃(Py)₃]PF₆ · 3.25CH₂Cl₂ · 0.5C₆H₅CH₃ and [Mo₃(CuI)S₄(Acac)₃(Py)₃]PF₆ · 4C₆H₆, are determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. All synthesized compounds are characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectra. According to the vibrational spectra, the thiocyanate complex in the solid state is a mixture of the bond isomers [Mo₃(CuNCS)S₄(Acac)₃(Py)₃]PF₆ and [Mo₃(CuSCN)S₄(Acac)₃(Py)₃]PF₆, whereas in solution this complex exists as a isothiocyanate form.     

New supramolecular adducts of chloroaquacomplexes [M3(μ3-S)S3?xSexCly(H2O)9?y](4?y)+ (M = Mo, W) with cucurbit[6]uril

New supramolecular adducts of cucurbit[6]uril with triangular cluster chloroaquacomplexes of Mo and W with mixed sulfido-selenido bridging ligands, {[W₃S₃Se(H₂O)₇Cl₂]₂(C₃₆H₃₆N₂₄O₁₂)}Cl₂·15H₂O (1), {[W₃S_1.5Se_2.5Cl_1.5(H₂O)_7.5]₂(C₃₆H₃₆N₂₄O₁₂)}Cl₅·18.5H₂O (2), and {[Mo₃SSe₃(H₂O)_7.5Cl_1.5]₂× (C₃₆H₃₆N₂₄O₁₂)}C_l5·11H₂O (3) are obtained treating the mixture of products in Mo-S-Se-Br and W-S-Se-Br systems, isolated, and structurally characterized. In all compounds, the supramolecular structure is based on hydrogen bonded associates of cucurbit[6]uril molecule with two cluster cations.     

Patchworking Arrangements of a cubic and a Quartic

B. Sturmfels modified Viro's "patchworking" method and applied it for construction of complete intersections. In the paper, this modification is used for construction of decomposable curves. 11 new arrangements of an M-cubic and an M-quartic with 12 common points lying on the odd branch of the cubic and an oval of the quartic are realized. Reactivity of triangular oxalate cluster complexes [M<Subscript>3</Subscript>Q<Subscript>7</Subscript>(C<Subscript>2</Subscript>O<Subscript>4</Subscript>)<Subscript>3</Subscript>]<Superscript>2−</Superscript> (M = Mo or W; Q = S or Se)

The reactions of the oxalate complexes [M₃Q₇(C₂O₄)₃]²⁻ (M = Mo or W; Q = S or Se) with Mn^II, Co^II, Ni^II, and Cu^II aqua and ethylenediamine complexes in aqueous and aqueous ethanolic solutions were studied. The previously unknown heterometallic complexes [Mo₃Se₇(C₂O₄)₃Ni(H₂O)₅]·3.5H₂O (1) and K₃{[Cu(en)₂H₂O]([Mo₃S₇(ox)₃]₂Br)}·5.5H₂O (2) were synthesized. In these complexes, the oxalate clusters serve as monodentate ligands. The K(H₂en)₂[W₃S₇(C₂O₄)₃]₂Br·4H₂O salt (3) was isolated from solutions containing Co^II, Ni^II, or Cu^II aqua complexes and ethylenediamine. The reaction of [Mo₃Se₇(C₂O₄)₃]²⁻ with HBr produced the bromide complex [Mo₃Se₇Br₆]²⁻, which was isolated as (Bu₄N)₂[Mo₃Se₇Br₆] (4). Complexes 1–3 were characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR spectra, and elemental analysis. The formation of 4 was detected by electrospray mass spectrometry. Dedicated to Academician G. A. One-step synthesis of pentavalent triphenylantimony derivatives Ph3Sb(OSiR3)2, Ph3Sb(OCH2CH2)2NH and Ph3Sb(OCH2CH2NMe2)2: X-ray molecular structure of Ph3Sb(OSiMe3)2

Pentavalent bis(triorganosiloxy)triphenylantimony derivatives, Ph₃Sb(OSiR₃)₂ (R = Me, Ph), were synthesized by reaction of triphenylantimony with trimethyl- or triphenylsilanol in the presence of tert-butylhydroperoxide by the mild reaction conditions (0-5 °C, 2 h). The reaction of triphenylantimony with diethanolamine in the presence of tert-butylhydroperoxide gave the cyclic compound Ph₃Sb(OCH₂CH₂)₂NH. The mixture of Ph₃SbO and Ph₃Sb(OCH₂CH₂NMe₂)₂ was obtained by the reaction of triphenylantimony with 2-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethanol in the presence of tert-butylhydroperoxide.     

Parametric transformation of the amplitude and frequency of a whistler wave in a magnetoactive plasma

The results of experiments studying the propagation of a high-frequency whistler wave in a magnetized plasma duct in the presence of an intense low-frequency wave also related to the whistler frequency range are reported. Amplitude-frequency modulation of the high-frequency whistler wave trapped in the duct was observed. A deep amplitude modulation of the signal that can lead to its splitting into separate wave packets is observed. It is shown that an increase in the wave propagation path leads to a broadening of the wave frequency spectrum and to a shift of the signal spectrum predominantly toward the red side. The transformation of the frequency of the high-frequency wave is related with the time-dependent perturbation of the external magnetic field by the field of the low-frequency whistler wave (the relative perturbation of the magnetic field δB/B≤5×10^?2).
