Integration of wheat straw for a biorefinery-based energy generation process by producing ethanol and biogas together with the production of high-protein fungal biomass (suitable for feed application) was the main focus of the present study. An edible ascomycete fungal strain Neurospora intermedia was used for the ethanol fermentation and subsequent biomass production from dilute phosphoric acid (0.7 to 1.2% w/v) pretreated wheat straw. At optimum pretreatment conditions, an ethanol yield of 84 to 90% of the theoretical maximum, based on glucan content of substrate straw, was observed from fungal fermentation post the enzymatic hydrolysis process. The biogas production from the pretreated straw slurry showed an improved methane yield potential up to 162% increase, as compared to that of the untreated straw. Additional biogas production, using the syrup, a waste stream obtained post the ethanol fermentation, resulted in a combined total energy output of 15.8 MJ/kg wheat straw. Moreover, using thin stillage (a waste stream from the first-generation wheat-based ethanol process) as a co-substrate to the biogas process resulted in an additional increase by about 14 to 27% in the total energy output as compared to using only wheat straw-based substrates.  相似文献

The hydrogen bond pattern of N-(4-methoxybenzoyl)-N′,N″-bis(4-methylbenzyl)-phosphoric triamide, C24H28N3O3P, (I), was investigated. In the crystal structure, the molecules are aggregated through NCP―H···O═P and NP―H···O═C hydrogen bonds in a one-dimensional arrangement parallel to the c axis (NCP is the nitrogen atom in the C(O)NHP(O) segment and NP stands for the two other nitrogen atoms bonded to the P atom). There is also a novel NP?H···π hydrogen bond in the crystal which extends the aggregation of the molecules to a two-dimensional array parallel to the bc plane. A Cambridge Structural Database (CSD, version 5.37, Feb 2016) analysis shows that the N―H···π hydrogen bond was not observed in any of 156 [RC(O)NH]P(O)[NR1R2 Allen, F. H.; Taylor, R. Chem. Soc. Rev. 2004, 33, 463-475.[Crossref], [PubMed], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]]2 (R1 ≠ H, R2 = H or ≠ H) phosphoric triamide structures reported so far. The theoretical calculations at the B3LYP/6-311G** level of theory (DFT, AIM, and NBO) were performed to evaluate the strengths of NCP―H···O═P, NP―H···O═C and NP―H···π hydrogen bonds, considering two-aggregate molecular assemblies containing these hydrogen bonds. The calculations on the title compound suggest that the intermolecular NCP―H···O═P hydrogen bond is stronger than NP―H···O═C and NP―H···π interactions. The hydrogen bond strength was investigated by NBO, topological analysis, geometry calculation, Hirshfeld surface analysis and experimental spectroscopic results, which are in agreement with each other.  相似文献

The performance of microphone arrays outdoors is influenced by the environmental conditions. Numerical simulations indicate that, while horizontal arrays are hardly affected, direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation with vertical arrays becomes biased in presence of ground reflections and sound speed gradients. Turbulence leads to a huge variability in the estimates by reducing the ground effect. Ground effect can be exploited by combining classical source localization with an appropriate propagation model (ground effect inversion). Not only does this allow the source elevation and range to be determined with a single vertical array but also it allows separation of sources which can no longer be distinguished by far field localization methods. Furthermore, simulations provide detail of the achievable spatial resolution depending on frequency range, array size and localization algorithm and show a clear advantage of broadband processing. Outdoor measurements with one or two sources confirm the results of the numerical simulations.  相似文献

Experimental data are presented for the polymerization of commercial styrene in a γ-radiation flux of 20–51 rad/sec in the temperature range of 150–200°C. At radiation intensities above 20 rad/second, conversion rate is independent of dose rate over the range. Above 165°C, radiation does not enhance the conversion rate but does produce more rapid elimination of residual monomer. Molecular weights of polymer product in this temperature range are too low to be of commercial interest. An optimal temperature range of 110–120°C is suggested for the process.  相似文献

A powder mixture of Al/TiO2/H3BO3 = 10/3/6 in molar ratio was used in this study to form the Al2O3–TiB2 ceramic composite via thermite reactions (combustion synthesis). As no combustion synthesis occurred for an unmilled sample in a furnace, the mixture was milled in a planetary ball-mill for various milling times, and the as-milled samples were in situ synthesized in the furnace at a heating rate of 10 °C/min. The differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurements were performed with the same heating rate on the unmilled and the as-milled samples to evaluate the influences of the milling on the mechanisms and efficiencies of reactions. Although no combustion synthesis occurred for the unmilled sample in the furnace, two exothermic peaks were detected in its DSC curve after the melting of the Al. For the as-milled samples, significant changes revealed in the DSC curves, suggest that the milling process before the combustion synthesis changed the mechanisms and efficiencies of reactions. In addition, the intensity and the temperature of the exothermic peaks in the DSC curves changed by increasing the milling time. According to the XRD analyses, by enhancing the milling time, the purity of the final products would increase, confirming that the efficiency of the reactions increased. Finally, the microstructures of the as-milled and as-synthesized samples were examined by a SEM, and it was shown that the morphology of the reactant powders was altered by increasing the milling time.  相似文献

This study deals with the utilization of chicken feather waste as a substrate for anaerobic digestion and improving biogas production by degradation of the compact structure of the feather keratin. In order to increase the digestibility of the feather, different pretreatments were investigated, including thermal pretreatment at 120 °C for 10 min, enzymatic hydrolysis with an alkaline endopeptidase [0.53–2.66 mL/g volatile solids (VS) feathers] for 0, 2, or 24 h at 55 °C, as well as a combination of these pretreatments. The effects of the treatments were then evaluated by anaerobic batch digestion assays at 55 °C. The enzymatic pretreatment increased the methane yield to 0.40 Nm3/kg VSadded, which is 122 % improvement compared to the yield of the untreated feathers. The other treatment conditions were less effective, increasing the methane yield by 11–50 %. The long-term effects of anaerobic digestion of feathers were examined by co-digestion of the feather with organic fraction of municipal solid waste performed with and without the addition of enzyme. When enzyme was added together with the feed, CH4 yield of 0.485 Nm3/kg VS?1 d?1 was achieved together with a stable reactor performance, while in the control reactor, a decrease in methane production, together with accumulation of undegraded feather, was observed.  相似文献
