We use the Inverse Scattering Transform machinery to construct multisoliton solutions to the 2-component defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Such solutions include dark–dark solitons, which have dark solitonic behaviour in both components, as well as dark–bright soliton solutions, with one dark and one bright component. We then derive the explicit expressions of two soliton solutions for all possible cases: two dark–dark solitons, two dark–bright solitons, and one dark–dark and one dark–bright soliton. Finally, we determine the long-time asymptotic behaviours of these solutions, which allows us to obtain explicit expressions for the shifts in the phases and in the soliton centers due to the interactions.  相似文献

Abstract

A hydrophone consisting of a hollow cylinder whose flexible, circular end plates are bonded to pairs of pat, spiral wound coils of optical fiber is described. When the end plate/disk is deformed due to a pressure difference, the outer and inner fiber coils experience opposite strains resulting in a “push—pull” optical path length difference which is detected in an all-fiber Michelson interferometer. The close proximity of the interferometric fiber coils, separated by the thin thermally conducting end plate, rejects thermal gradient-induced signals. The addition of a second identical end plate and fiber coil pair at the opposite end of the cylinder will double the acoustic sensitivity while canceling acceleration induced signals. The calculated and measured optical strain of a single simply supported plate, single-coil sensor (8.0 cm diameter, 3.0 mm thickness) using static pressure, acoustic pressure, and acceleration are in good agreement and yield a sensitivity of 0.21 rad/Pa (ΔΦ/ΦΔP = -301 dB re I μPa-1) below its resonance frequency of 3 kHz. The calculated and measured strain for a dual clamped disk (4.5 cm diameter, 1.0 mm thickness) acceleration-canceling sensor with four 8-m coils are in good agreement also and yield a sensitivity of 1.0 rad/Pa (ΔΦ/ΦpΔP = -291 dB re 1 μPa?1) below the disk resonance frequency of 4.5 kHz. These are the highest fiber-optic, omnidirectional hydrophone sensitivities reported to date.  相似文献

Several thiophene-based N^C ligands were synthesized. Strategically, a bromide was incorporated on the 2-position of the thiophene ring. When allowed to react with the platinum tetramethyl dimer, [Pt2Me4(µ-SMe2)2], platinum(IV) platinacycles were formed by oxidative addition of the C(sp2)-X bond. These platinum(IV) compounds were characterized by NMR and HRMS. The platinum (IV) compounds were subsequently subjected to thermolysis. A series of reactions occurred, including selective C-C reduction elimination and selective C-H oxidative addition, giving mixtures of platinum(II) products with varying degrees of regioselectivity.  相似文献

Results for critical quadrupolar moments for electron binding to fixed, point-charge systems are normalized, extended, and displayed in graphical forms. The influence of rotational degrees of freedom on critical binding to quadrupolar systems is examined through calculations of critical moments for electron binding to linear electric quadrupolar rotors. The results are presented for rotors covering useful ranges of size and inertial parameters. The effect of rotational degrees of freedom on critical binding is found to be less important for quadrupolar as compared to dipolar rotors.  相似文献

The exciton dynamics of CdSe nanocrystals are intimately linked to the surface morphology. Photo-oxidation of the selenium surfaces of the nanocrystal leads to an increase in radiative decay efficiency from both the band edge and deep trap emission states. The addition of the primary amine hexadecylamine curtails nonradiative excitonic decay attributed to the dangling surface selenium orbitals by passivation of those trap sites by the methylene protons on the amine, leading to enhanced band edge emission and the absence of deep trap emission. Furthermore, CdSeZnSe core/shell nanocrystals are not immune from contributions from surface states because of the alignment of the band structures of the core and shell materials.  相似文献

We use ab initio electronic structure methods to calculate the many-body decomposition of the binding energies of the OH.(H2O)n (n=2,3) complexes. We employ MP2 and CCSD(T) levels of theory with aug-cc-pVDZ and aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets and analyze the significance of the nonpairwise interactions between OH radical and the surrounding water molecules. We also evaluate the accuracy of our newly developed potential function, the modified Thole-type model, for predicting the many-body terms in these complexes. Our analysis of the many-body contributions to the OH.(H2O)n binding energies clearly shows that they are just as important in the OH interactions with water as they are for interactions in pure water systems.  相似文献

Cooling molecules in the gas phase is important for precision spectroscopy, cold molecule physics, and physical chemistry. Measurements of conformational relaxation cross sections shed important light on potential energy surfaces and energy flow within a molecule. However, gas‐phase conformational cooling has not been previously observed directly. In this work, we directly observe conformational dynamics of 1,2‐propanediol in cold (6 K) collisions with atomic helium using microwave spectroscopy and buffer‐gas cooling. Precise knowledge and control of the collisional environment in the buffer‐gas allows us to measure the absolute collision cross‐section for conformational relaxation. Several conformers of 1,2‐propanediol are investigated and found to have relaxation cross‐sections with He ranging from σ=4.7(3.0)×10?18 cm2 to σ>5×10?16 cm2. Our method is applicable to a broad class of molecules and could be used to provide information about the potential energy surfaces of previously uninvestigated molecules.  相似文献

Alkenylalumination of substituted styrene oxides with [alpha-(ethoxycarbonyl)alkenyl]diisobutylaluminum, in the presence of BF(3).Et(2)O, affords the corresponding (Z)-alpha-alkylidene-gamma-aryl-gamma-hydroxy esters in 81-100% Z-selectivity. Chromatographic separation of isomers, followed by lactonization with trifluoroacetic acid, provides isomerically pure (Z)-alpha-alkylidene-gamma-aryl-gamma-butyrolactones in 53-78% overall yield. Isomerization of the (Z)-alkylidene hydroxyl esters using LDA, followed by protonation using a bulky proton source, such as BHT, provides a simple route to the corresponding alpha-(E)-alkylidene-gamma-phenyl-gamma-hydroxy esters in 72-78% yield, which were cyclized to obtain the corresponding (E)-butyrolactones in 78-85% yield.  相似文献

Two shotgun tandem MS proteomics approaches, multidimensional protein identification technology (MudPIT) and 1-D gel-LC-MS/MS, were used to identify Arabidopsis thaliana leaf proteins. These methods utilize different protein/peptide separation strategies. Detergents not compatible with MudPIT were used with 1-D gel-LC-MS/MS to help enrich for the detection of membrane-spanning and hydrophobic proteins. By combining the data from all MudPIT and 1-D gel-LC-MS/MS experiments, 2342 nonredundant proteins spanning a broad range of molecular weights and pI values were detected. With the exception of unknown proteins, the distribution of gene ontology (GO) classifications for the detected proteins was similar to that encoded by the genome, which shows that these extraction and separation procedures are useful for a broad proteomic survey of plant cells. Unknown proteins will likely have to be targeted by using additional methods, some of which should be compatible with separation strategies taken here.  相似文献
