MAGNESIUM HYDROGEN SULFATE POWDER CATALYZED STEREOSELECTIVE CONVERSION OF DIALKYL 2-(IMIDO-N -YL)-3-(TRIPHENYLPHOSPHORANYLIDENE)- BUTANEDIOATES TO ELECTRON-POOR (Z)-N -VINYLIMIDES IN SOLVENT-FREE CONDITIONS

Magnesium hydrogen sulfate powder was found to catalyze stereoselective conversion of dialkyl 2-(imido-N-yl)-3-(triphenylphosphorany-lidene)butanedioates to electron-poor (Z)-N-vinylimides in solvent-free conditions at 95°C 1 h in high conversions. Microwave also was found to catalyze the same reactions in the presence of magnesium hydrogen sulfate powder in solvent-free conditions in 3 min.     

Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reaction in water in the presence of robust palladium immobilized on modified magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles as a recoverable catalyst

Aryl halides and especially inactive aryl chlorides were coupled to benzenoid aromatic rings in a Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reaction in the absence of organic solvents and toxic phosphine ligands. The reaction was catalysed by a recoverable magnetic nanocatalyst, Pd@Fe₃O₄, in aqueous media. This method is green, and the catalyst is easily removed from the reaction media using an external magnetic field and can be re‐used at least 10 times without any considerable loss in its activity. The catalyst was characterized using scanning and transmission electron microscopies, thermogravimetric analysis, inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, CHN analysis, X‐ray diffraction and vibrating sample magnetometry.     

One-pot three-component reaction: Synthesis of substituted β-cyanocarbonyls in aqueous media

An environmentally friendly and simple method for the synthesis of alkyl nitriles or β-cyanocarbonyls via a one-pot three-component reaction of Meldrum's acid, aldehydes and sodium cyanide in water, without using any catalyst or activation at room temperature is reported.     

Spectrophotometric Study of Complexation of Tri-Aza Dibenzosulfide and Dibenzosulfoxide Macrocyclic Compounds with Heavy Metal Ions

The complexation reactions between 7,10,13-triaza-1-thia-4,16-dioxa-20,24-dimethyl-2,3;17,18-dibenzo-cyclooctadecane-6,14-dione ( TTD ) and 7,10,13-triaza-1-sulfoxo-4,16-dioxa-20,24-dimethyl-2,3;17,18-dibenzo-cyclooctadecane-6,14-dione ( TSD ) macrocycles with Ag⁺, Cd²⁺, Cu²⁺, Pb²⁺, Sr²⁺, Tl⁺, and Zn²⁺ ions have been studied in ethanol and methanol solutions at 25°C. The complexes formed between macrocycles ( TTD ) and ( TSD ) with these metals cations had a stiochiometry of 1:1 and 1:2, respectively. The stability constants of the resulting complexes were determined and found to decrease in the order Cu²⁺ > Zn²⁺ > Ag⁺ > Tl⁺ > Cd²⁺ > Pb²⁺ > Sr²⁺ with macrocycle ( TTD ) and Tl⁺ > Zn²⁺ > Cd²⁺ > Pb²⁺ > Cu²⁺ > Ag⁺ > Sr²⁺ with macrocycle ( TSD ).     

One-Pot Stereoselective Synthesis of Alkyl Z-2-[2-Amino-4-oxo-1,3-selenazol-5(4H)-yliden] Acetates

Abstract

Selenourea reacts with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates in acetone to form 1:1 adducts, which undergo a cyclization reaction to produce alkyl Z-2-(2-amino-4-oxo-1,3-selenazol-5(4H)-yliden) acetates in fairly good yields. The reaction is completely stereoselective.     

Stereoselective Synthesis of Alkyl Z -2-(2-Amino-4-oxo-1,3-thiazol-5(4 H )-yliden)Acetates in Solventless Conditions

Tiourea reacts with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates in solventless conditions to form 1:1 adducts, which undergo a cyclization reaction to produce alkyl Z-2-(2-amino-4-oxo-1,3-thiazol-5(4H)-yliden)acetates in fairly good yields. The stereochemistry of the ethyl Z-2-(2-amino-4-oxo-1,3-thiazol-5(4H)-yliden)acetate was established by the use of X-ray single crystal structure analysis. The reaction is completely stereoselective.     

Photoelectrocatalytic degradation of 3-nitrophenol at surface of Ti/TiO2 electrode

The widely utilization of phenol and its derivatives such as 3-nitrophenol (3-NP) has led to the worldwide pollution in the environment. In this study, Ti/TiO₂ photoelectrode was prepared with anodic oxidation of Ti foil electrode and then the photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) degradation of 3-NP was performed via this electrode, comparing with photocatalytic (PC), electrooxidation and direct photolysis by ultraviolet light. A significant photoelectrochemical synergetic effect in 3-NP degradation was observed on the Ti/TiO₂ electrode and rate constant for the PEC process of Ti/TiO₂ electrode was about three times as high as its PC degradation process. 3-NP concentration monitoring was carried out with differential pulse voltammetry. Results showed that PEC degradation has highest effect on concentration decreasing of 3-NP at solution and degraded it about 38 %, while other processes degradation efficiencies were about 4, 7, and 12 % for electrooxidation, direct photolysis and photocatalytic degradation, respectively. Finally, effects of solution pH and applied potential on degradation efficiency were studied and results showed that optimum pH for degradation is equal 4.00 and optimum potential is 1.2 V vs. Ag|AgCl|KCl (3M) reference electrode.     

Three-Component,One-Pot Synthesis of Benzo[b][1,4]oxazines in Ionic Liquid 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium Bromide

Benzo[b][1,4]oxazines have been synthesized in good to excellent yields in the presence of the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide [bmim]Br under relatively mild conditions without any added catalyst, The method offers the advantages of good yields and short reaction times, and the ionic liquid can be easily separated from the product and reused.     

Microwave Assisted Synthesis of Dibenzoxazepines

Dibenzo[b,f][1,4]oxazepine derivatives were synthesized in good yields and short reaction times by the reaction of 2‐chlorobenzaldehydes and 2‐aminophenoles in basic conditions under microwave irradiation.
