Thermolysis of the “all-cis” compound 1α-chloro-2α,3α-dimethylcyclopropane (A) at 550–607 K and 6–115 torr is a first-order homogeneous non-radical-chain process giving penta-1,3-diene (PD) and HCl as products. The Arrhenius parameters are log10A(sec?1) = 13.92 ± 0.08 and E = 199.6 ± 0.9 kJ/mol. The isomer with trans-methyl groups, 1α-chloro-2α,3β-dimethylcyclopropane (B) reacts by two parallel first-order processes giving as observed products trans-4-chloropent-2-ene (4CP) and PD + HCl, with log10A(sec?1) = 14.6 and 13.8, respectively, and E = 199.5 and 190.2 kJ/mol, respectively. The 4CP undergoes secondary decomposition to PD + HCl (as investigated previously). Comparison of the results for compounds (A) and (B) with those for other gas-phase and solution reactions leads to the conclusion that the gas-phase thermolyses proceed by rate-determining ring opening to form olefins which may decompose further by thermal or chemically activated reactions, and that the ring opening is a semiionic electrocyclic reaction in which alkyl groups in the 2,3-positions trans to the migrating chlorine semianion move apart, with appropriate consequences for the rate of reaction and the stereochemistry of the products. 相似文献

(51)V NMR chemical shifts calculated from QM/MM-optimized (QM=quantum mechanical; MM=molecular mechanical) models of vanadium-dependent chloroperoxidase (VCPO) are presented. An extensive number of protonation states for the vanadium cofactor (active site of the protein) and a number of probable positional isomers for each of the protonation states are considered. The size of the QM region is increased incrementally to observe the convergence behavior of the (51)V NMR chemical shifts. A total of 40 models are assessed by comparison to experimental solid-state (51)V NMR results recently reported in the literature. Isotropic chemical shifts are found to be a poor indicator of the protonation state; however, anisotropic chemical shifts and the nuclear quadrupole tensors appear to be sensitive to changes in the proton environment of the vanadium nuclei. This detailed investigation of the (51)V NMR chemical shifts computed from QM/MM models provides further evidence that the ground state is either a triply protonated (one axial water and one equatorial hydroxyl group) or a doubly protonated vanadate moiety in VCPO. Particular attention is given to the electrostatic and geometric effects of the protein environment. This is the first study to compute anisotropic NMR chemical shifts from QM/MM models of an active metalloprotein for direct comparison with solid-state MAS NMR data. This theoretical approach enhances the potential use of experimental solid-state NMR spectroscopy for the structural determination of metalloproteins. 相似文献

The charge distribution of taurine (2-aminoethane-sulfonic acid) is revisited by using an orbital-based method that describes the density in a fixed molecular orbital basis with variable orbital occupation numbers. A new neutron data set is also employed to explore whether this improves the deconvolution of thermal motion and charge density. A range of molecular properties that are novel for experimentally determined charge densities are computed, including Weinhold population analysis, Mayer bond orders, and local kinetic energy densities, in addition to charge topological analysis and quantum theory of atoms-in-molecules (QTAIM) integrated properties. The ease with which a distributed multipole analysis can be performed on the fitted density matrix makes it straightforward to compute molecular moments, the lattice energy, and the electrostatic interaction energies of molecules removed from the crystal. Results are compared with high-level (QCISD) gas-phase calculations and band structure calculations employing density functional theory. Finally, the avenues available for extending the range of molecular properties that can be calculated from experimental charge densities still further using this approach are discussed. 相似文献

In a classical 1986 paper by Erdös, Saks and Saós every graph of radius r has an induced path of order at least 2r ? 1. This result implies that the independence number of such graphs is at least r. In this paper, we use a result of S. Fajtlowicz about radius-critical graphs to characterize graphs where the independence number is equal to the radius, for all possible values of the radius except 2, 3, and 4. Natural products have been widely used to dissect the basic mechanisms of fundamental life science and as clinical therapeutics. Recently, there has been significant interest in discovering new chemical pharmacophores in natural products to fulfil the vast demand for novel kinase inhibitors and address critical unmet medical needs with respect to signal transduction pathways. In this review, we summarize the history of several different classes of natural product-derived kinase inhibitors, discuss their kinome-wide target profiles and examine their structural binding modes based on available 3D X-ray structures. Vibrationally-resolved photoelectron spectra of AlMoO(y)(-) (y = 1-4) are presented and analyzed in conjunction with density functional theory computational results. The structures determined for the AlMoO(y) anion and neutral clusters suggest ionic bonding between Al(+) and a MoO(y)(-) or MoO(y)(-2) moiety, and point to the relative stability of Mo=O versus Al=O bonds. The highest occupied and partially occupied orbitals in the anions and neutrals can be described as Mo atomic-like orbitals, so while the Mo is in a higher oxidation state than Al, the most energetically accessible electrons are localized on the molybdenum center. 相似文献
