A membrane osmometer designed for use at pressures greater than 0.1 MPa and less than 6 MPa was employed to determine the pressure coefficient of the equilibrium osmotic pressure (?π/?P) of a dilute polystyrene/toluene solution. The pressure coefficient of the second virial coefficient (?A2/?P), calculated from ?π/?P, was 6 (±4) × 10?5 cm3 mol g?2 MPa?1, which was in reasonable agreement with the value obtained from pressure‐dependent light scattering. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. It is proved that a semilinear function on a complex banach space is not differentiable according to the usual definition of differentiability in the calculus on banach spaces. It is shown that this result makes the calculus largely inapplicable to the solution of variational problems of quantum mechanics. A new concept of differentiability called semi-differentiability is defined. This generalizes the standard concept of differentiability in a banach space and the resulting calculus is particularly suitable for optimizing real-valued functions on a complex banach space and is directly applicable to the solution of quantum mechanical variational problems. As an example of such application a rigorous proof of a generalized version of a result due to Sharma (1969) is given. In the course of this work a new concept of prelinearity is defined and some standard results in the calculus on banach spaces are extended and generalized into more powerful ones applicable directly to prelinear functions and hence yielding the standard results for linear functions as particular cases.  相似文献

We prove various results on the existence and multiplicity of harmonic and subharmonic solutions to the second order nonautonomous equation , as or where is a smooth function defined on a open interval The hypotheses we assume on the nonlinearity allow us to cover the case (or ) and having superlinear growth at infinity, as well as the case (or ) and having a singularity in (respectively in ). Applications are given also to situations like (including the so-called ``jumping nonlinearities'). Our results are connected to the periodic Ambrosetti - Prodi problem and related problems arising from the Lazer - McKenna suspension bridges model.

This study is aimed at establishing optimal conditions for the use of 2,2'-[1,3-propanediylbis[(dimethyliminio)-3,1-propanediyl-1(4H)-pyridinyl-4-ylidenemethy-lidyne]]bis[3-methyl]-tetraiodide (BOBO-1) as a fluorescent probe in the characterization of lipid/DNA complexes (lipoplexes). The fluorescence spectra, anisotropy, fluorescence lifetimes and fluorescence quantum yields of this dimeric cyanine dye in plasmid DNA (2694 base pairs) with and without cationic liposomes (1,2-dioleoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane [DOTAP]), are reported. The photophysical behavior of the dye in the absence of lipid was studied for several dye/DNA ratios using both supercoiled and relaxed plasmid. At dye/DNA ratios (d/b) below 0.01 the fluorescence intensity increases linearly, whereas lifetime and anisotropy values of the dye are constant (tau approximately 2.5 ns and = 0.20). By agarose gel electrophoresis it was verified that up to d/b = 0.01 DNA conformation is not considerably modified, whereas for d/b = 0.05-0.06 a single heavy band appears on the gel. For these and higher dye/DNA ratios the fluorescence intensity, anisotropy and average lifetime values decrease with an increase in BOBO-1 concentration. When cationic liposomes are added to the BOBO-1/DNA complex, an additional effect is noticed: The difference in the environment probed by BOBO-1 bound to DNA leads to a decrease in quantum yield and average lifetime values, and a redshift is apparent in the emission spectrum. For fluorescence measurements including energy transfer (FRET), a d/b ratio of 0.01 seems to be adequate because no considerable change on DNA conformation is detected, a considerable fluorescent signal is still measured after lipoplex formation, and energy migration is not efficient.  相似文献

Novel 3-methylene-2,5-dioxo-3H,9bH-oxazolo[2,3-a]isoindoles were prepared from the thermolysis of (3R,9bS)-5-oxo-2,3,5,9b-tetrahydrothiazolo[2,3-a]isoindole-3-carboxylic acids in acetic anhydride. The structure of 3-methylene-2,5-dioxo-3H,9bH-oxazolo[2,3-a]isoindole 6a was determined by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

Thermogravimetric (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) analyses were used to investigate the effect of the acidity behaviour of Y zeolites on the catalytic degradation of polyethylene (PE). The acidity behaviour of these zeolites was modified by ion exchange treatments. Two Y zeolites with similar Si/Al atomic ratios were subjected to an ion exchange treatment using NaNO3 for H-form (HY) and NH4NO3 for Na-form (NaY). The activity and the deactivation behaviour of the Y zeolites were determined in the samples by TGA measurements, using a polymer/catalyst ratio of 9:1. The sample residues obtained after an isothermic TGA, were analysed by DSC, in order to evaluate the crystallinity of each mixture. The HY zeolite, which has the strongest acidity, reduced the onset temperature resulting in more rapid degradation of the polymer. It is shown that the ion exchange treatment over Y zeolites enhances the selective catalytic degradation of polymer in detriment of the rapid deactivation.  相似文献

A method for testing glass electrodes in the physiological pH range (6.4–7.6) and at the physiological sodium ion concentration (0.15 mol l-1), based on indirect comparison of potentials with the hydrogen gas electrode, is developed according to a scheme described earlier. The hydrogen ion sensitivity and the sodium ion error of a glass electrode can be determined with three different aqueous solutions of amine buffers and their hydrochlorides; two of these have different pH values and one also contains a sodium salt (at the higher pH value). A cell without a liquid/liquid junction, containing silver/silver chloride reference electrodes, is used at 37° C. The accuracy of both determinations is ±0.2 mV (±0.003 pH). The results for some commercial glass electrodes tested with this method are presented.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive reversed-phase liquid chromatography method was developed and validated for the determination of nicardipine hydrochloride (NC) in rabbit plasma. Nicardipine hydrochloride and nimodipine, used as internal standard, were initially extracted from plasma by a rapid solid-phase extraction using C(18) cartridges. After extraction, nicardipine hydrochloride was separated by HPLC on a C(18) column and quantified by ultraviolet detection at 254 nm. A mixture of acetonitrile-0.02 M sodium phosphate buffer-methanol (45:40:15) with 0.2% of triethylamine of pH of 6.1 was used as mobile phase. The mean (+/-SD) extraction efficiency of NC was 77.56 +/- 5.4, 84.23 +/- 4.32 and 83.94 +/- 3.87% for drug concentrations of 5, 25 and 100 ng/mL, respectively. The method proved to be linear in the range of 5-100 ng/mL with a regression coefficient of 0.9993. The relative standard deviations of intra- and inter-day analysis for NC in plasma were 3.26-6.52% (n = 5) and 4.71-9.38% (n = 5), respectively. The differences of the mean value measured from the concentration prepared, expressed in percentages (bias percentage), were only - 5.2, 0.4 and 0.8% at NC 5, 25 and 50 ng/mL, which confirmed the accuracy of the method. The analytical technique was used to determine NC plasma concentration after drug oral administration to rabbits. The results inferred that NC is rapidly absorbed in rabbits and has a short half-life (t(1/2) = 1.34 h).  相似文献
