Reaction of asymmetric organomercury compounds with thallium trichloride

Summary Thallium trichloride exchanges two of its halogen atoms only for a radical that possesses a trans-configuratlon in cis-trans compounds, or for a radical that experiences electrophilic attack by the hydrogen ion in the decomposition of RHgR' by hydrochloric acid.     

Observation of the decaya 2 − (1320)→π − η′

The reaction ^– C ^– C has been studied at 36 GeV/c. A clear signal for the decaya ₂ ^– (1320) ^– · is observed in the ^– mass spectrum. The measured ratio of branchings is BR (a ₂ ^{– –} )/BR(a ₂ ^{– –} );(3.4±0.8±0.5)·10^–2.     

Packing of complexes and intermolecular interactions in the crystals of volatile palladium(II) β-diketonates. crystal structure of palladium(II) benzoyltrifluoroacetonate

This paper reports on the synthesis and crystal structure analysis of palladium(II) bis-(trans-benzoyltrifluoroacetonate). Crystal data for PdO₄C₂₀F₆H₁₂:a= 4.748, b = 22.237, c = 9.410 Å, P = 105.44° Z = 2, space group P2₁/c, d_calc. = 1.86 g/cm . CAD-4 diffmctometer(MoKa), heavy atom method, R = 0.041 for 986 reflections. The structure is molecular; the planar molecules are stacked. The Pd atom is surrounded by a square of four O atoms (Pd?O = 1.97 Å, chelate angle 94.4°); Pd is involved in additional intemctions with the C_γ atoms of two neighboring molecules (Pd...C_γ= 3.44 Å). The molecular structure of palladium β-diketonate complexes, molecular packing in crystal, and intermolecular intemctions are considered. The van der Waals energies of the crystal lattice are calculated. The results are compared with the experimental values. In the structures of palladium( 11) β-diketonates, three groups of crystals are isolated: one group with 2 nearest-neighbor interactions (stacks), the second with 4 nearest-neighbor interactions (two-dimensional nets), and the third with 1 nearest-neighbor interaction (dimers). The latter are characteristic of the cis-complexes. The intemctions with 10–12 nearest neighbor molecules determine the energetics of the whole crystal. The high volatility of Pd(hfa)₂ is explained by the weaker intermolecular contacts between stacks in crystal.     

Chemistry of indole

,-Unsaturated ketones form pyrimido[1,2-a]indoles with 2-aminoindole, while 1-alkyl-2-aminoindoles under these conditions are converted to the corresponding -carbolines. The Influence of Dimerization of Water-Soluble Metalloporphyrins as Photosensitizers on the Efficiency of Generation of Singlet Oxygen

Quantum yields () for the generation of singlet oxygen sensitized by Pd(II) complexes of water-soluble porphyrins: meso-tetrakis(4-N-methylpyridyl)porphine [PdTMPyP]⁴⁺ ( = 0.9), meso-tetrakis(4-N,N,N-trimethylaminophenyl)porphine [PdTTMAPP]⁴⁺ ( = 0.8), meso-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphine [PdTCPP]^4– ( = 0.7), and meso-tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphine [PdTSPP]^4– ( = 0.5) were determined using a chemical method. It was found that the dimerization and aggregation of metalloporphyrins greatly influence the value. The quantum yields evaluated for the formation of singlet oxygen sensitized by metalloporphyrin monomeric and dimeric forms are _{, M} 0.9 and _{, D} 0.2, respectively, and do not depend on the porphyrin nature.     

The dynamics of vortex sources in a deformation flow

This paper is concerned with the dynamics of vortex sources in a deformation flow. The case of two vortex sources is shown to be integrable by quadratures. In addition, the relative equilibria (of the reduced system) are examined in detail and it is shown that in this case the trajectory of vortex sources is an ellipse.     

On the extrema of band functions in periodic waveguides

In the work we construct an example of a periodic differential operator whose spectrum has gaps with edges attained by the band functions at interior points of the Brillouin zone. This example is the Laplacian on a pair of infinite parallel strips with common boundary from which a periodic system of small holes is cut out. At that, on the outer boundaries the Dirichlet condition is imposed, while on the common boundary the Neumann condition is considered.     

Azo coupling of 5-substituted furan-2(3H)-ones and 1H-pyrrol-2(3H)-ones with arene(hetarene)diazonium salts

5-Substituted furan-2(3H)-ones and 1-phenyl-1H-pyrrol-2(3H)-ones reacted with diazonium salts derived from substituted anilines and 1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine to give azo coupling products at the methylene group in the heteroring. The products were found to exist as hydrazone tautomers.     

Very high energy gamma-ray emission of TeV J2032+4130 object

Cygnus Region is known to contain a large number of objects which are bright in all wavelengths including active star formation regions, pulsars and supernova remnants. Some of the sources have been detected at high and very high energies. One of them, discovered due to the proximity to well-known microquasar Cyg X-3, is object TeV J2032+4130. This object is still of unresolved nature and is being intensively studied in the different energy ranges. The results of twenty-year observation of TeV J2032+4130 object by the SHALON experiment are presented in this paper. The collected experimental data on fluxes, spectrum shape, and morphology of TeV J2032+4130 can help in the future to determine an object type and to shed light on the source nature.
