The differential cross section for electron-induced neutron knockout in the reaction 4He(e,e(')n)(3)He has been measured for the first time with a statistical accuracy of 11%. The experiment was performed in quasielastic kinematics at a momentum transfer of 300 MeV/c and in the missing-momentum range of 25-70 MeV/c. The comparison of the data with theoretical calculations shows an impressive increase of the cross section resulting from final state interaction effects. Specifically, the p-n charge-exchange process dominates the cross section in this kinematical regime.  相似文献

We show that turbulent "spirals" and "spots" observed in Taylor-Couette and plane Couette flow correspond to a turbulence-intensity modulated finite-wavelength pattern which in every respect fits the phenomenology of coupled noisy Ginzburg-Landau (amplitude) equations with noise. This suggests the existence of a long-wavelength instability of the homogeneous turbulence regime.  相似文献

We present a phase field theory for binary crystal nucleation. In the one-component limit, quantitative agreement is achieved with computer simulations (Lennard-Jones system) and experiments (ice-water system) using model parameters evaluated from the free energy and thickness of the interface. The critical undercoolings predicted for Cu-Ni alloys accord with the measurements, and indicate homogeneous nucleation. The Kolmogorov exponents deduced for dendritic solidification and for "soft impingement" of particles via diffusion fields are consistent with experiment.  相似文献

Angular distributions of sputtered atoms from SiO2 and LiF single crystals were measured under the irradiation of 1 MeV/u swift heavy ions. In contrast to the almost isotropic distribution of SiO2, an additional jetlike component was observed for LiF. The total sputtering yield of SiO2 ( approximately 10(2) atoms/ion) can be reproduced by an extended inelastic thermal spike model, whereas the huge yield of LiF ( approximately 10(4) atoms/ion) needs a substantial decrease of the sublimation energy to be described by the model.  相似文献

Measurements of the complex frequency dependent conductivity of uncompensated n-type silicon are reported. The experiments are done in the quantum limit, variant Planck's over 2pi omega>k(B)T, across a broad doping range on the insulating side of the metal-insulator transition. The low energy linear frequency dependence is consistent with theories of a Coulomb glass, but discrepancies exist in the relative magnitudes of the complex components. At higher energies we observe a crossover to a quadratic frequency dependence that is sharper than expected. The concentration dependence gives evidence that the Coulomb interaction energy is the energy scale that determines this crossover.  相似文献

Highly conductive boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes are well suited for performing electrochemical measurements of nucleic acids in aqueous solution under diffusion-only control. The advantageous properties of this electrodic material in this context include reproducibility and the small background currents observed at very positive potentials, along with its robustness under extreme conditions so offering promising capabilities in future applications involving thermal heating or ultrasonic treatment. tRNA, single and double stranded DNA and 2'-deoxyguanosine 5'-monophosphate (dGMP) have been studied and well defined peaks were observed in all cases, directly assignable to the electro-oxidation of deoxyguanosine monophosphate.  相似文献

The preparations of new allylic fluorides from the corresponding alcohols are reported. Conformational analysis is achieved by comparison of experimental NMR measurements with theoretical (B3LYP) calculations of relative energies of conformers and J(H,H) and J(H,F) coupling constants. The Diels-Alder reactions of allylic fluorides are investigated experimentally and theoretically. The stereoselectivities of the reactions were determined by NMR analysis and, in one case, by X-ray crystallography. Theoretical predictions of stereoselectivity based upon transition state modeling provided good agreement with experiment. Theoretical models for allylic fluorides and transition state conformations are reported.  相似文献

Phonon-assisted two-magnon absorption is studied in the spin- 1/2 two-leg ladders of (Ca,La)(14)Cu(24)O(41) for E parallel c (legs) and E parallel a (rungs). We verify the theoretically predicted existence of two-magnon singlet bound states, which give rise to peaks at approximately equal to 2140 and 2800 cm(-1). The two-magnon continuum is observed at approximately equal to 4000 cm(-1). Two different theoretical approaches (Jordan-Wigner fermions and perturbation theory) describe the data very well for J parallel approximately equal to 1020-1100 cm(-1), J parallel/J perpendicular approximately equal to 1-1.2. At high energies, the magnetic contribution to sigma(omega) is strikingly similar in the ladders and in the undoped high-T(c) cuprates, which emphasizes the importance of strong quantum fluctuations in the latter.  相似文献
