Coherent scattering in a small quantum dot

Ballistic transport in an open small (100 nm) three-terminal quantum dot has been analyzed. The dot is based on the high-mobility 2D electron gas of the AlGaAs/GaAs heterojunction. It has been shown that the gate oscillations of the resistance of such a dot arise due to the coherent scattering of electrons on its quasidiscrete levels and these oscillations are suppressed by a weak magnetic field.

Quasiconformality of the injective mappings transforming spheres to quasispheres

We prove that every injective mapping of a domain \(D \subset \overline {{\mathbb{R}^n}} \) transforming spheres Σ ? D to K-quasispheres (the images of spheres under K-quasiconformal automorphisms of \(\overline {{\mathbb{R}^n}} \)) is K′-quasiconformal with K′ depending only on K and tending to 1 as K → 1. This is a quasiconformal analog of the classical Carathéodory Theorem on the Möbius property of an injective mapping of a domain D ? Rⁿ which sends spheres to spheres.     

Determination of the chemical parameters and manufacturer of divins from their broadband transmission spectra

Analysis of multiparametric data on transmission spectra of 24 divins (Moldovan cognacs) in the 190–2600 nm range allows identification of outliers and their removal from a sample under study in the following consideration. The principal component analysis and classification tree with a single-rank predictor constructed in the 2D space of principal components allow classification of divin manufacturers. It is shown that the accuracy of syringaldehyde, ethyl acetate, vanillin, and gallic acid concentrations in divins calculated with the regression to latent structures depends on the sample volume and is 3, 6, 16, and 20%, respectively, which is acceptable for the application.     

Inorganic phosphors in lead–silicate glass for white LEDs

Using spectrophotometry and stationary and kinetic fluorimetry, we have shown that xanthene dye fluorescein forms complexes with polycationic derivative of fullerene in aqueous solutions mainly due to electrostatic interactions. It is found that efficient quenching of singlet excited states of dye occurs in the structure of these complexes due to the transfer of excitation or electron from dye to fullerene. As a result, the photodynamic activity of the newly formed complex is much higher than that of fluorescein and fullerene derivative. This effect makes it possible to predict the formation of new-generation hybrid photodynamic preparations using dyes excited only into a singlet state; as a result, directed searches for these dyes are significantly facilitated.     

Formation of organo-inorganic hybrid networks in the system consisting of Tris(2,2′-bipyridine)ruthenium complexes and silica

Organo-inorganic composites consisting of mutually linked ruthenium complexes with organic ligands and an inorganic SiO₂ network were synthesized by the sol-gel method. The luminescence and photosensitive properties of the resulting compounds were studied.
