A colloidal solution of gold nanoparticles in deionized nanopure water was produced by laser ablation technique without the use of any chemical/surfactant. Spectral characterization and morphological studies of these nanoparticles were carried out by UV-Vis Spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy, respectively. A number of variables of the ablating laser pulse have been used to control the size of the fabricated nanoparticles. Excellent correlation between ablating laser pulse parameter and optical and morphological parameters of the gold colloids were obtained. The peak of the extinction spectra shows a monotonic blue shift for laser fluence of 410 J/cm2 and above. Below this the extinction peak remains fairly constant in wavelength. Blue shifts of the extinction spectra were also observed with increasing re-ablation time of previously ablated gold colloids. Possible explanations of all these observations are discussed.  相似文献

Radon exhalation rate from fly ash samples and from the homogeneous mixture of fly ash of different proportions additive in soil and cement samples to study the effect of the addition was measured by cup dosimeter using SSNTDs. Radon activities were found to vary from (1018±38) to ( whereas the radon exhalation rate varied from (366±14) to . A gradual increase has been observed in samples having fly ash as an additive in cement samples whereas a gradual decrease was observed in soil samples after the addition of fly ash. 238U in fly ash was measured by a low-level NaI (Tl)-based gamma ray spectrometer. The results show enhancement in U concentration in fly ash as compared to coal samples, whereas radon exhalation rate is less in fly ash samples.  相似文献

Intranuclear cascading mechanism one of the important non-linear effects in high energy nucleusnucleus collisions is investigated. The data on multiplicity (n s ) and pseudorapidity (η) distributions of shower particles produced by32S and16O at 200A GeV,16O at 60A GeV,28Si at 14.5A GeV and He at ≈140A GeV are presented and compared with the string model VENUS, which takes into account the cascade interactions of secondary particles. The effect of the intranuclear collisions on the distributions of <η> versus <n s > is discussed for all the beams.  相似文献

The effects of data heterogeneity on the efficiency estimate by data envelopment analysis are evaluated here in terms of empirical applications in the computer industry. Scale or size variations of firms and heteroscedasticity are the two forms of heterogeneity considered here. Our empirical results show that the adverse effects of data heterogeneity can be considerably reduced by the methods suggested here.  相似文献

This article deals with a spectrographic analysis of the singer's formant as occurred during singing of the vowels /a/, /i/, and /o/ in North Indian classical vocal music. The resonance balance, center frequency, and band-width are shown as a function of fundamental frequency for eight singers.Two new parameters have been defined viz. asymmetry parameter (A) and spectral energy balance (W). A method is reported here for calculating unsteady aerodynamics of hovering and flapping airfoil for two-dimensional flow via the following improved methodologies: (a) a correct formulation of the problem using stream function (ψ) and vorticity (ω) as dependent variables; (b) calculating loads and moment by a new method to solve the governing pressure Poisson equation (PPE) in a truncated part of the computational domain on a nonstaggered grid; (c) accurate solution using high accuracy compact difference scheme for the vorticity transport equation (VTE) and (d) accelerating the computations by using a high-order filter after each time step of integration. These have been used to solve Navier–Stokes equation for flow past flapping and hovering NACA 0014 and 0015 airfoils at typical Reynolds numbers relevant to the study of unsteady aerodynamics of micro air vehicle (MAV) and insect/bird flight.  相似文献
