A sensitive and efficient method for trace analysis of some phenolic compounds using simultaneous derivatization and air‐assisted liquid–liquid microextraction from human urine and plasma samples followed by gas chromatography–nitrogen phosphorous detection

In present study, a simultaneous derivatization and air‐assisted liquid–liquid microextraction method combined with gas chromatography–nitrogen phosphorous detection has been developed for the determination of some phenolic compounds in biological samples. The analytes are derivatized and extracted simultaneously by a fast reaction with 1‐flouro‐2,4‐dinitrobenzene under mild conditions. Under optimal conditions low limits of detection in the range of 0.05–0.34 ng mL^?1 are achievable. The obtained extraction recoveries are between 84 and 97% and the relative standard deviations are less than 7.2% for intraday (n = 6) and interday (n = 4) precisions. Novel aromatic polyamides bearing pendent diphenylamino or carbazolyl groups

Two new diamines, 2,4‐diaminotriphenylamine ( 3 ) and N‐(2,4‐diaminophenyl)carbazole ( 4 ), were synthesized via the cesium fluoride‐mediated aromatic substitution reactions of 1‐fluoro‐2,4‐dinitrobenzene with diphenylamine and carbazole, followed by palladium‐catalyzed hydrazine reduction. Amorphous and soluble aramids having pendent diphenylamino and carbazolyl groups were prepared by the phosphorylation polycondensation of aromatic dicarboxylic acids with diamines 3 and 4 , respectively. The aramids derived from diamine 3 had sufficiently high molecular weights to permit the casting of flexible and tough films. They exhibited excellent mechanical properties and moderately high softening temperatures in the 221–298 °C range. However, the reactions of diamine 4 with aromatic diacids gave relatively lower molecular weights products that could not afford flexible films. For a comparative purpose, the parent aramids derived from m‐phenylenediamine and aromatic diacids were also prepared and characterized. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Comments concerning the HPLC separation of acrolein from other C3 carbonyl compounds as 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones: A proposal for improvement

The separation of the toxicologically important aldehyde acrolein from other carbonyl compounds by high performance liquid chromatography after derivatization to 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones is critically discussed on the basis of a selection of published methods. A method is proposed whereby the compounds acrolein, acetone, and propanal may be reproducibly separated to baseline by a reversed phase HPLC procedure employing a ternary mixture of methanol, water, and acetonitrile as mobile phase.     

Diethoxyphosphorylimine of methyl trifluoropyruvate in cyclocondensation with 1,3-C,N-and-N,N-binucleophiles

Reaction of diethoxyphosphorylimine of methyl trifluoropyruvate with 1,3-C,N-and-N,N-binucleophiles led to a variety of N-phosphorylated fluorine-containing heterocycles, including the fused ones. Synthesis of Methyl 2-(5-Arylidene-2,4-dioxotetrahydrothiazol-3-yl)propionates

A series of methyl 2-(arylidene-2,4-dioxotetrahydrothiazol-3-yl)propionates were prepared. A study of the 3D structure was performed. The log P values are given for all the synthesized compounds.     

[2+2]-Photocycloaddition von Cyclohexen an 2-Acetyl-5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexandion und 3-Acetyl-1,5,5-trimethyl-2,4-pyrrolidindion

Summary Irradiation of solutions of excess cyclohexene and 2-acetyl-5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexanedione (1), and 3-acetyl-1,5,5-trimethyl-2,4-pyrrolidinedione (4) results mainly in the formation of 1,5-diones2 and5. These originate from intermediate cycloadducts of cyclohexene and theexo-enols of the cyclic 1,3-diketones. The yields decrease with increasing polarity of the solvent. In solution2 and5 are in equilibrium with the cyclic hemiacetales3 and6.

     

Synthesis and structure of anhydrodimers of salicylaldehydes

Anhydrodimers have been synthesized by reactions of salicylaldehyde and 3,5-di-tert-butylsalicylaldehyde with SOCl₂ or PCl₅. A mechanism of condensation has been proposed, and the molecular structure of dibenzo-2,6,9-trioxabicyclo[3.3.1]nona-3,7-diene has been determined by X-ray structural analysis.Deceased.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Selective dimerization of α-methylstyrene catalyzed by a solid acid

A novel solid acid prepared from concentrated sulfuric, boric and phosphoric acid is a highly selective catalyst for the dimerization of α-methylstyrene at room temperature to generate 4-methyl-2,4-diphenyl-1-pentene.     

A novel heterocyclic system — dihydro-2H-1,5,2,4-dioxadiazine. 2,4-Dimethyldihydro-2H-1,5,2,4-dioxadiazine hydrochloride: synthesis and NMR study

The first representative of a novel heterocyclic system, namely, 2,4-dimethyldihydro-2H-1,5,2,4-dioxadiazine hydrochloride, was synthesized.
