Azo-coupling Decarboxylation Reaction of α-Carboxy Ketene Dithioacetals in Water-a New Route to 1,2-Diaza-1,3-butadienes

Under basic conditions,a series of 4,4-dialkylthio-1,2-diaza-1,3-butadienes were synthesized in good to excel-lent yields via a novel azo-coupling decarboxylation reaction by reacting α-carboxyl ketene dithioacetals witharyldiazonium salts in aqueous medium.     

Molecular Iodine Catalyzed One‐pot Aza‐Diels‐Alder Reaction under Solvent‐free Conditions

Catalyzed by molecular iodine at room temperature, under solvent‐free conditions, a two component aza‐Diels‐Alder cyclization of N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone with N‐arylimine gave tetrahydroquinoline derivatives in good yields and high stereo‐selectivity. And three components aza‐Diels‐Alder reaction of N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone, anilines and indole‐3‐carbaldehydes under the same condition afford only cis‐product in good yields.     

Efficient One‐pot Synthesis of Alkyl 3‐(alkyl)‐4‐methyl‐2‐thioxo‐2,3‐dihydrothiazole‐5‐carboxylates in a Multi Component Reaction

A simple and efficient one‐pot synthesis of alkyl 2‐(alkyl)‐4‐methyl‐2‐thioxo‐2,3‐dihydrothiazole‐5‐carboxylates from the reaction of primary alkylamines and carbon disulfide in the presence of 2‐chloro‐1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds is described. This new protocol has several advantages such as lack of necessity of the catalyst, good yields, mild conditions and short times for reaction.     

A Facile Synthesis of 2,2,4‐Trisubstituted‐1,2‐Dihydroquinolines Catalyzed by Zinc Triflate under Solvent‐Free Conditions

An efficient process has been developed for the synthesis of 2,2,4‐trisubstituted‐1,2‐dihydroquinolines in good yields through a simple one‐pot condensation between anilines and ketones in the presence of zinc triflate as a catalyst at room temperature under solvent‐free conditions.     

Low‐valent Titanium Induced Reductive Coupling of O‐Nitrophenylazide with Benzoyl Substituted Ketene Dithioacetals: a Novel Synthesis of 4‐Aryl‐2‐methylthio‐3Z7‐l,5‐benzodiazepines

Treated with the low‐valent titanium derived from TiCl₄/Sm system, o‐nitrophenylazide could produce the intermediate 2 in situ, which reacted with benzoyl substituted ketene dithioacetals to afford 4‐aryl‐2‐methylthio‐3H‐1,5‐benzodiazepines in good yields under mild and neutral conditions.     

Microwave‐Mediated One‐Step Synthesis of Bis(Heteroaryl‐2‐yl)Methanes from o‐Diaminoaromatics and Malonamide under Solvent‐Free Conditions

Microwave‐mediated one‐step condensations of malonamide with o‐diaminoaromatics under solvent‐free conditions generated bis(heteroaryl‐2‐yl)methanes in good yields, without use of any catalyst. Seven examples are presented, and all the reported compounds were fully characterized, among which one compound was also determined by single‐crystal crystallographic analysis.     

Synthesis of 4‐fluoroalkyl‐2H‐pyrido [1, 2‐a] pyrimidin‐2‐ones from 2, 2‐dihydropolyfluoroalkanoic acids

In the presence of N, N′‐dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, 2‐aminopyridine and its derivatives (2) condensed with 2, 2‐di‐hydropolyfluoroalkanoic adds (1) to give the corresponding amides. Subsequent intramolecular Micheal addition‐elimination reactions of the fluorine‐containing amides under basic conditions gave 4‐fluoroalkyl‐2H‐pyrido[1,2‐a]pyrimidin‐2‐ones (3) in good yields.     

A Novel Metal‐free Reductive Esterification of N‐Tosylhydrazones with Carboxylic Acids

A novel method for the synthesis of esters via reductive coupling of N‐tosylhydrazones with carboxylic acids under metal‐free conditions has been developed. Various functional groups were found to be tolerable under the reaction conditions to afford low to good yields.     

2‐(1H‐Benzotriazole‐1‐yl)‐1,1,3,3‐Tetramethyluronium Tetrafluoro Borate (TBTU) as an Efficient Coupling Reagent for the Esterification of Carboxylic acids with Alcohols and Phenols at Room Temperature

Esterification of carboxylic acids with alcohols and phenols by using 2‐(1H‐benzotriazole‐1‐yl)‐1,1,3,3‐tetramethyluronium tetrafluoroborate (TBTU) in the presence of triethylamine as a base proceeded smoothly under mild conditions to afford the corresponding esters in good to high yields in acetonitrile at room temperature.     

溴化镁催化的1,2,3,4-四氢吡啶酮无溶剂合成研究

An efficient and environmentally friendly procedure for the one-pot synthesis of tetrahydropyrimidinones from aldehydes, β-diketones and urea/thiourea by using magnesium bromide as an inexpensive and easily available catalyst under solvent-free conditions was described. Compared with the classical Biginelli reaction conditions, this new method has the advantage of good to excellent yields (74%-94%) and short reaction time (45-90 min). The structure of the Biginelli reaction product from β-diketone, salicylaldehyde and urea has been proposed to possess an oxygen-bridge by cyclization (intramolecular Michael-addition).     

Three‐component One‐pot Synthetic Route to Functionalized N‐Phenyl‐ and N,N‐(1,4‐phenylene)‐2‐alkylimino‐2,3‐dihydrothiazoles under Mild,Solvent‐ and Catalyst‐free Conditions

A simple and efficient one‐pot synthesis of alkyl‐2‐(alkylimino)‐4‐methyl‐3‐phenyl‐2,3‐dihydrothiazole‐5‐carboxylate and dialkyl 3,3′‐(1,4‐phenylene)‐bis‐[2‐(alkylimino)‐4‐methyl‐2,3‐dihydrothiazole‐5‐carboxylate] derivatives from the reaction of phenylisothiocyanate (and also 1,4‐phenylene diisothiocyanate) and primary alkylamines in the presence of 2‐chloro‐1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds is described. This new protocol has several advantages such as lack of necessity of the catalyst and solvent, good yields,mild conditions and short times for reaction.     

One‐pot Green Procedure for Synthesis of Tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene‐11‐one Catalyzed by Brønsted Ionic Liquids under Solvent‐free Conditions

An efficient one‐pot condensation of β‐naphthol, aldehydes and cyclic 1,3‐dicarbonyl compound has been achieved with ionic liquids as catalyst, thus a variety of 8,9,10,12‐tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthen‐11‐one derivatives were prepared in good yields. The present approach offers several advantages such as shorter reaction times, good yields and mild reaction conditions.     

Denitrogenative Pd/Cu‐catalyzed Suzuki‐type Cross‐coupling of Aryltrifluoroborates with Arylhydrazine Hydrochlorides in Water under Room Temperature

A water‐soluble palladium‐catalyzed Suzuki‐type cross‐coupling of aryltrifluoroborates with arylhydrazide hydrochlorides was efficiently developed under mild and environmentally benign conditions, in water without any ligand. The newly developed Pd/Cu co‐catalyzed denitrogenative reaction gave a range of structurally diverse substituted biaryls with good to excellent yields, in which the byproduct was nitrogen.

Study on Reaction of α‐Benzoylhemithioacetal with Alkylamines

α‐Benzoylhemithioacetal (1) reacted with alkylamines under mild conditions to give 2‐alkylamino‐2‐thiomethyl acetophenones (3) in good yields.     

Synthesis of Substituted 4‐Aroyl‐1‐indanone and 5‐Aroyl‐1‐tetralone

Several substituted 4‐aroyl‐1‐indanones 2 and 5‐aroyl‐1‐tetralones 3 were prepared in good yields from 1‐indanones 1 via a series of reasonable transformations.     

One‐pot solvent‐free synthesis of novel functionalized ethyl 2‐(alkylimino)‐4‐methyl‐3‐(alkanoyl)‐2,3‐dihydrothiazole‐5‐carboxylates

A green and efficient one‐pot two‐step synthesis of ethyl 2‐(alkylimino)‐4‐methyl‐3‐(alkanoyl)‐2,3‐dihydrothiazole‐5‐carboxylates from the reaction between acyl chlorides, ammonium thiocyanate, primary alkylamines, and ethyl 2‐chloroacetoacetae under mild, solvent‐ and catalyst‐free conditions at room temperature is presented. This efficient and straightforward technique gave the expected products in good to high yields in 2–4 hr without the creation of any by‐product in all reactions.     

Oxidative Deprotection of Acetals and Trimethylsilylethers by γ‐PCC‐SiO2

Acetals, ketals and trimethylsilyl ethers mildly and selectively underwent oxidative deprotection to carbonyl compounds by silica gel supported γ‐picolinium chlorochromate under non‐aqueous conditions in good to excellent yields.     

A One‐Pot Biginelli Synthesis of 6‐Unsubstituted 5‐Aroylpyrimidin‐2(1H)‐ones and 6‐Acetyl‐1,2,4‐triazin‐3(2H)‐ones

The three‐component Biginelli‐like cyclocondensation reaction of enamines 1 , urea, and aldehydes in dioxane/acetic acid efficiently afforded the corresponding 6‐unsubstituted 3,4‐dihydropyrimidin‐2(1H)‐ones 2 in good yields (Scheme 1, Table). The corresponding reaction of azaenamine (=hydrazone) 7 with benzaldehyde and urea afforded 6‐acetyl‐1,2,4‐triazin‐3(2H)‐ones in good yields (Scheme 3).     

Ligand‐ and solvent‐free synthesis of 2‐aminobenzothiazoles by copper‐catalyzed tandem reaction of 2‐haloanilines with isothiocyanates

We report an environmentally friendly, efficient and practical method for the synthesis of 2‐aminobenzothiazoles by a copper(II)‐catalyzed tandem reaction of 2‐haloanilines with isothiocyanates under ligand‐ and solvent‐free conditions in air. The developed methodology conforms to the principles of 'green chemistry' and addresses the shortage of such methods for the synthesis of 2‐aminobenzothiazoles. The reaction is quite general and generates a variety of 2‐aminobenzothiazoles in good to excellent yields. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
