Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are highly efficient and are comparatively cheaper than the large silicon crystals primarily used in solar cells. Their outstanding photovoltaic performance makes them a potential alternative to silicon solar cells. While efficiency and photovoltaic performance have been investigated in recent decades, a knowledge gap on the degradation, economic feasibility and stability of PSCs exists, and their poor stability remains a barrier to commercialization. Thus, this review aims to fill this knowledge gap by focusing on approaches to improve PSCs’ thermal and chemical stability, and their economic viability under different conditions. The structure and manufacture of PSCs are also discussed along with an economic analysis of different perovskite devices. Improvements in thermal stability can be reached by incorporating inorganic materials into the PSC. A PSC model optimized with ZnO improves chemical stability by 8% and works well under low temperatures. To make PSCs more economically feasible, certain parts like counter electrodes (CE) and hole transport materials (HTMs) can be replaced with alternative elements like carbon and inorganic HTMs, respectively. PSCs with long durability and high conversion efficiency will expand the commercial prospects for this material. To bridge the lack of knowledge, further investigation is required on the sustainability and longevity of PSCs.  相似文献

Hole transport materials (HTMs) with high hole mobility, good band alignment and ease of fabrication are highly desirable for perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Here, we designed and synthesized novel organic HTMs, named T3, which can be synthesized in high yields with commercially available materials, featuring a substituted pyrrole core and triphenylamine peripheral arms. The capability of functionalization in the final synthetic step provides an efficient way to obtain a variety of T3-based HTMs with tunable energy levels and other properties. Among them, fluorine-substituted T3 (T3-F) exhibits the best band alignment and hole extraction properties, leading to PSCs with outstanding PCEs of 24.85 % and 24.03 % (certified 23.46 %) for aperture areas of 0.1 and 1 cm2, respectively. The simple structure and tunable performance of T3 can inspire further optimization for efficient PSCs.  相似文献

Modulation of the electron-deficient π-bridge units in 4-methoxy-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)-N-phenylbenzenamine (MeTPA)-based hole-transporting materials (HTMs) is a significant approach to improve hole mobility of HTMs for perovskite solar cells (PSCs). In this study, a class of simple MeTPA-based HTMs (H1-H4) with different π-bridged electron-deficient units were designed for the purpose of providing a theoretical model to obtain potential MeTPA-based HTMs. The results indicated that H2 to H4 exhibit better performance, such as larger Stokes shifts, smaller exciton-binding energy, better stability, good solubility, and higher hole mobility, in comparison with the parental material H1. H2 to H4 materials with high hole mobility (5.45 × 10−4, 2.70 × 10−1, and 3.99 × 10−3 cm2 V−1 second−1, respectively) may embody promising HTMs to yield good performance in PSCs. Therefore, the useful information obtained regarding control of the electron-deficient π-bridge units of MeTPA-based HTMs is an effective way to obtain excellent HTMs for PSC applications.  相似文献

Organic metal halide perovskite materials have excellent photoelectric properties, and the power conversion efficiency(PCE) of the perovskite solar cells(PSCs) has increased from 3.8% to more than 25%. In the development of PSCs, innovative architectures were being proposed constantly. However, the use of the electron transport layer(ETL) and hole transport layer(HTL) increases manufacturing costs and process complexity. Perovskite material has ambipolar charge transport characteristics, so it c...  相似文献

Hybrid organic‐inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have shown significant potential for use in the energy field. Typically, hole‐transporting materials (HTMs) play an important role in affecting the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of PSCs. A deep understanding of the structure‐property relationship plays a vital role in developing efficient HTMs. Herein, the relationship between the structure and properties of two small organic HTMs H2,5 and H3,4 were systematically investigated in terms of the electronic and optical properties, the hole‐transporting behavior by using density functional theory (DFT) and Marcus electron transfer theory. The results demonstrated that the high power conversion efficiency of the H2,5‐ based PSC was caused by strong interactions with the perovskite material on the interface and an enhanced hole mobility in H2,5 compared with H3,4 . The strong interaction derives from the short bond length of O atom of HTM and Pb atom of perovskite material, and the highly hole mobility derives from the quasi‐planar conjugated conformation and tight packing model of neighboring molecules in H2,5 . In addition, we found that the planar structure enhances the intermolecular interaction between HTM and perovskite materials compared with the ′V′‐shaped molecule. Importantly, we also note that the HOMO level of the isolated molecule is not always proportional to the open‐circuit voltages of PSCs since the HOMO level might move toward a higher level when the interaction between HTM and interface of perovskite was included. The work gives essential information for rational designing efficient HTMs.  相似文献

Organic π-functional molecules are the foundation and basic component of organic optoelectronic devices. For example, for ideal carrier transporting materials, extended π-conjugation and ordered π-πstacking are necessary to enhance the charge mobility and achieve desirable results. As a promising way to convert sunlight into electricity, organometal halide perovskite solar cells(PSCs) have captured a lot of attention due to its predominant merits especially in the aspect of remarkable photovoltaic performance and much potentially low production cost. For conventional planar PSC structure,hole-transporting layer which typically consists of organic π-functional materials plays a key role in suppressing holeelectron pair recombination, promoting charge transporting and ensuring ohmic contact of back electrode.Considering the key roles of HTMs and its soaring progress in recent years, here,we will summarize recent progress in small organic π-functional materials from its diverse functions in PSCs.Besides, aiming to further promote the development of organic π-functional molecules and HTMs,a promising direction toward highly efficient HTMs will also be discussed.  相似文献

Two new electron‐rich molecules based on 3,4‐phenylenedioxythiophene (PheDOT) were synthesized and successfully adopted as hole‐transporting materials (HTMs) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). X‐ray diffraction, absorption spectra, photoluminescence spectra, electrochemical properties, thermal stabilities, hole mobilities, conductivities, and photovoltaic parameters of PSCs based on these two HTMs were compared with each other. By introducing methoxy substituents into the main skeleton, the energy levels of PheDOT‐core HTM were tuned to match with the perovskite, and its hole mobility was also improved (1.33×10?4 cm2 V?1 s?1, being higher than that of spiro‐OMeTAD, 2.34×10?5 cm2 V?1 s?1). The PSC based on MeO‐PheDOT as HTM exhibits a short‐circuit current density (Jsc) of 18.31 mA cm?2, an open‐circuit potential (Voc) of 0.914 V, and a fill factor (FF) of 0.636, yielding an encouraging power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 10.64 % under AM 1.5G illumination. These results give some insight into how the molecular structures of HTMs affect their performances and pave the way for developing high‐efficiency and low‐cost HTMs for PSCs.  相似文献

Three hole transport materials (HTMs) based on a substituted triphenylamine moiety have been synthesized and successfully employed in triple‐cation mixed‐halide PSCs, reaching efficiencies of 19.4 %. The efficiencies, comparable to those obtained using spiro‐OMeTAD, point them out as promising candidates for easily attainable and cost‐effective alternatives for PSCs, given their facile synthesis from commercially available materials. Interestingly, although all these HTMs show similar chemical and physical properties, they provide different carrier recombination kinetics. Our results demonstrate that is feasible through the molecular design of the HTM to minimize carrier losses and, thus, increase the solar cell efficiencies.  相似文献

Advancing inverted (p-i-n) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is critical for commercial applications given their compatibility with different bottom cells for tandem photovoltaics, low-temperature processability (≤100 °C), and promising operational stability. Although inverted PSCs have achieved an efficiency of over 25 % using doped or expensive organic hole transport materials (HTMs), their synthesis cost and stability still cannot meet the requirements for their commercialization. Recently, dopant-free and low-cost non-stoichiometric nickel oxide nanocrystals (NiOx NCs) have been extensively studied as a low-cost and effective HTM in perovskite optoelectronics. In this minireview, we summarize the synthesis and surface-functionalization methods of NiOx NCs. Then, the applications of NiOx NCs in other perovskite optoelectronics beyond photovoltaics are discussed. Finally, we provide a perspective for the future development of NiOx NCs for the commercialization of perovskite optoelectronics.  相似文献

The construction of state‐of‐the‐art hole‐transporting materials (HTMs) is challenging regarding the appropriate molecular configuration for simultaneously achieving high morphology uniformity and charge mobility, especially because of the lack of appropriate building blocks. Herein a semi‐locked tetrathienylethene (TTE) serves as a promising building block for HTMs by fine‐tuning molecular planarity. Upon incorporation of four triphenylamine groups, the resulting TTE represents the first hybrid orthogonal and planar conformation, thus leading to the desirable electronic and morphological properties in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Owing to its high hole mobility, deep lying HOMO level, and excellent thin film quality, the dopant‐free TTE‐based PSCs exhibit a very promising efficiency of over 20 % with long‐term stability, achieving to date the best performances among dopant‐free HTM‐based planar n‐i‐p structured PSCs.  相似文献

With perovskite‐based solar cells (PSCs) now reaching efficiencies of greater than 20 %, the stability of PSC devices has become a critical challenge for commercialization. However, most efficient hole‐transporting materials (HTMs) thus far still rely on the state‐of‐the‐art methoxy triphenylamine (MOTPA) donor unit in which methoxy groups usually reduce the device stability. Herein, a carbazole‐fluorene hybrid has been employed as a methoxy‐free donor to construct organic HTMs. The indeno[1,2‐b]carbazole group not only inherits the characteristics of carbazole and fluorene, but also exhibits additional advantages arising from the bulky planar structure. Consequently, M129, endowed with indeno[1,2‐b]carbazole simultaneously exhibits a promising efficiency of over 20 % and superior long‐term stability. The hybrid strategy toward the methoxy‐free donor opens a new avenue for developing efficient and stable HTMs.  相似文献

Two novel hole transport materials (HTMs) with indaceno[1,2-b:5,6-b']dithiophene (IDT) as core building blocks, termed IDT1 and IDT2,were designed and synthesized. The side alkyl chains were introduced to regulate and control the morphology and stacking behavior of HTMs,and the peripheral triarylamine arms were introduced to adjust the energy levels and to facilitate efficient hole transport.Applied in mesoporous structured perovskite solar cells (PSCs),HTM IDT1 achieved higher power conversion efficiency (PCE,19.55%) and better stability than Spiro-OMeTAD (19.25%) and IDT2 (15.77%) based PSC.These results suggest the potential of IDTl as a promising HTM for PSCs.  相似文献

Perovskite solar cells(PSCs) have attracted much attention because of their high efficiencies and low costs for production.Although academic research started late in China, compared to that in Europe and Korea, the majority of active PSC research is now conducted in China; furthermore, Chinese research groups currently hold the certified highest efficiency record for both an individual PSC and a PSC module. China is also the world's largest supplier of solar modules, making it a promising country in which to realize the commercialization of PSCs. Herein, we review PSC research activities undertaken in China(both academic and industrial) and discuss significant remaining challenges to overcome for early commercialization of PSCs. We propose that research activities shift away from material and device structure development toward improving PSC stability and developing methods for large-area module fabrication. In addition, we suggest that a recognized certification center is urgently needed in China to further accelerate PSC research.  相似文献

In principle, conjugated polymers can work as electron donors and thus as low-cost p-type organic semiconductors to transport holes in photovoltaic devices. With the booming interests in high-efficiency and low-cost solar cells to tackle global climate change and energy shortage, hole transporting materials(HTMs) based on conjugated polymers have received increasing attention in the past decade. In this perspective, recent advances in HTMs for a range of photovoltaic devices including dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSCs), perovskite solar cells(PSCs),and silicon(Si)/organic heterojunction solar cells(HSCs) are summarized and perspectives on their future development are also presented.  相似文献

Hole transport materials (HTMs) are a key component of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The small molecular 2,2′,7,7′-tetrakis(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenyl)-amine-9,9′-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD, termed “Spiro”) is the most successful HTM used in PSCs, but its versatility is imperfect. To improve its performance, we developed a novel spiro-type HTM (termed “DP”) by substituting four anisole units on Spiro with 4-methoxybiphenyl moieties. By extending the π-conjugation of Spiro in this way, the HOMO level of the HTM matches well with the perovskite valence band, enhancing hole mobility and increasing the glass transition temperature. DP-based PSC achieves high power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 25.24 % for small-area (0.06 cm2) devices and 21.86 % for modules (designated area of 27.56 cm2), along with the certified efficiency of 21.78 % on a designated area of 27.86 cm2. The encapsulated DP-based devices maintain 95.1 % of the initial performance under ISOS-L-1 conditions after 2560 hours and 87 % at the ISOS-L-3 conditions over 600 hours.  相似文献

Organic–inorganic halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted much attention due to their rapid increase in power conversion efficiencies (PCEs), and many efforts are devoted to further improving the PCEs. Designing highly efficient hole transport materials (HTMs) for PSCs may be one of the effective ways. Herein we theoretically designed three new HTMs (FDT−N, FDT−O, and FDT−S) by introducing a nitrogen-phenyl group, an oxygen atom, and a sulfur atom into the spiro core of an experimentally synthesized HTM (FDT), respectively. And then we performed quantum chemical calculation to study their application potential. The results show that the devices with FDT−O and FDT−S instead of FDT may have higher open circuit voltages owing to their lower highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy levels. Moreover, FDT−S exhibits the best hole transport performance among the studied HTMs, which may be due to the significant HOMO-HOMO overlap in the hole hopping path with the largest transfer integral. Furthermore, the results on interface properties indicate that introducing oxygen and sulfur atoms can enhance the MAPbI3/HTM interface interaction. The present work not only offers two promising HTMs (FDT−O and FDT−S) for PSCs but also provides theoretical help for subsequent research on HTMs.  相似文献

Two new hole‐transporting materials (HTMs), BX‐OMeTAD and BTX‐OMeTAD , based on xanthene and thioxanthene units, respectively, and bearing p‐methoxydiphenylamine peripheral groups, are presented for their use in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The novelty of the newly designed molecules relies on the use of a single carbon‐carbon bond ‘C?C’ as a linker between the two functionalized heterocycles, which increases the flexibility of the molecule compared with the more rigid structure of the widely used HTM spiro‐OMeTAD. The new HTMs display a limited absorbance in the visible region, due to the lack of conjugation between the two molecular halves, and the chemical design used has a remarkably impact on the thermal properties when compared to spiro‐OMeTAD. BX‐OMeTAD and BTX‐OMeTAD have been tested in ([(FAPbI3)0.87(MAPbBr3)0.13]0.92[CsPbI3]0.08)‐based PSC devices exhibiting power conversion efficiencies of 14.19 and 16.55 %, respectively. The efficiencies reached, although lower than those measured for spiro‐OMeTAD (19.63 %), are good enough to consider the chemical strategy used as an interesting via to design HTMs for PSCs.  相似文献

The commercialization of perovskite solar cells (PVSCs) urgently requires the development of green-solvent processable dopant-free hole transporting materials (HTMs). However, strong intermolecular interactions that ensure high hole mobility always compromise the solubility and film-forming ability in green solvents. Herein, we show a simple but effective design strategy to solve this trade-off, that is, constructing star-shaped D-A-D structure. The resulting HTMs (BTP1-2) can be processed by green solvent of 2-methylanisole (2MA), a kind of food additive, and show high hole mobility and multiple defect passivation effects. An impressive efficiency of 24.34 % has been achieved for 2MA-processed BTP1 based inverted PVSCs, the highest value for green-solvent processable HTMs so far. Moreover, it is manifested that the charge separation of D-A type HTMs at the photoinduced excited state can help to passivate the defects of perovskites, indicating a new HTM design insight.  相似文献
