The purpose of this work was to employ the differential thermal analysis technique (DTA) to compare variations in the collapse energy of the Y zeolite crystalline structure in a fresh sample and in the sample after temperature treatment and impregnated with 3,000 ppm of vanadium and nickel. A small exothermic signal in the DTA curve at 950–1,150 °C indicated the collapse of the crystalline structure. The areas of the exothermic signals in the DTA curves of the samples indicated a 20% reduction in the exothermic area peak of sample treated 600 °C for 3 h and 25% reduction in same peak in the metal impregnated Y zeolite. These results were compared with X-ray data leading to the conclusion that metal impregnation affects the Y zeolite crystalline structure and that the DTA technique is a potentially useful tool for measuring the integrity of Y zeolite in catalysts.  相似文献

Thermogravimetric (TG), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and thermal degradation kinetics, FTIR and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of synthesized glycine–montmorillonite (Gly–MMT) and montmorillonite bound dipeptide (Gly–Gly–MMT) along with pure Na–MMT samples have been performed. TG analysis at the temperature range 25–250 °C showed a mass loss for pure Na–MMT, Gly–MMT and Gly–Gly–MMT of about 8.0%, 4.0% and 2.0%, respectively. DTA curves show the endothermic reaction at 136, 211 and 678 °C in pure Na–MMT whereas Gly–MMT shows the exothermic reaction at 322 and 404 °C and that of Gly–Gly–MMT at 371 °C. The activation energies of the first order thermal degradation reaction were found to be 1.64 and 9.78 kJ mol−1 for Gly–MMT and Gly–Gly–MMT, respectively. FTIR analyses indicate that the intercalated compounds decomposed at the temperature more than 250 °C in Gly–MMT and at 250 °C in Gly–Gly–MMT.  相似文献

Simultaneous thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) techniques were used for the characterization the thermal degradation of loratadine, ethyl-4-(8-chloro-5,6-dihydro-11H-benzo[5,6]cyclohepta[1,2-b]pyridin-11-ylidine)-1-piperidinecarboxylate. TG analysis revealed that the thermal decomposition occurs in one step in the 200–400°C range in nitrogen atmosphere. DTA and DSC curves showed that loratadine melts before the decomposition and the decomposition products are volatile in nitrogen. In air the decomposition follows very similar profile up to 300°C, but two exothermic events are observed in the 170–680°C temperature range. Flynn–Wall–Ozawa method was used for the solid-state kinetic analysis of loratadine thermal decomposition. The calculated activation energy (E a) was 91±1 kJ mol–1 for α between 0.02 and 0.2, where the mass loss is mainly due to the decomposition than to the evaporation of the decomposition products.  相似文献

Earthy and xylytic brown coals from Poland have been sulphonated with 98% sulfuric acid at temperatures of 60°, 90° and 140°C. The main exothemic peak shifts to higher temperatures with increase in sulphonation reaction temperature whereas overall weight loss to 1000°C decreases. DTA curves of earthy and xylytic coals sulphonated at higher temperatures are similar, even though DTA curves of the unmodified coals differ appreciably. Thermal decomposition of earthy coal oxidized by nitric acid follows a different pattern. Nitric acid causes oxidation and depolymerization of the organic components and this is reflected in the shapes of DTA and TG curves of oxidized coals. As the nitric acid concentration and reaction temperature increase, the main exothermic peak shifts to lower temperatures (from 330°C for basic coal to 270°C for coal oxidized with 30 and 50% nitric acid). The weight loss is higher for oxidized coal than for coal unmodified by nitric acid.  相似文献

Thermal analysis of sulfurization of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) with elemental sulfur was investigated by thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis of the mixture of polyacrylonitrile and elemental sulfur up to 600°C. Due to the volatilization of sulfur, the different heating rate (10 and 20 K min−1) and different mixture proportion of polyacrylonitrile and elemental sulfur were adopted to run the analysis. The different heating rates make the DSC curves of sulfur different, but make the DSC curves of PAN similar. In the DSC curve of sulfur for the heating rate of 20 K min−1 around 400°C, a small exothermic peak occurs at 400°C in the wide endothermic peak around 380∼420°C, indicative of that there is an exothermic reaction around 400°C. In the DSC curves of the mixture, the peaks around 320°C are exothermic as the content of sulfur is below 3.5:1 and endothermic as the content of sulfur is over 4:1, indicating that one of the reactions between PAN and sulfur takes place around 320°C. In the TG curves of the mixture, the mass losses begin at 220°C, and sharply drop down from 280°C. The curves for the low sulfur content obviously show two steps of mass loss, and curves for the high sulfur content show only one step of mass loss, indicative of more sulfur is benefit for the complete sulfurization of PAN. This study demonstrates that the TG/DSC analysis can give the parameter for the sulfurization, even if the starting mixture contains the volatile sulfur.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition of akaganeite, β-FeOOH, in air is studied. The structural properties of the dehydroxylation product, identified as hematite, are determined at different temperatures. From the results on crystallite size and microstrains, a change of crystallite shape has been shown to occur in the range of temperatures of 300 to 485°C. A marked increase in crystallite size and a diminution in microstrains is observed at 525°C. This change is related to the occurrence of an exothermic peak in the DTA and DSC curves of akaganeite at about 512°C. The peak is thus ascribed to a recrystallization process of hematite. Electron micrographs support the most relevant observations of changes in particle size and shape.  相似文献

The chlorination processes of fly ash and bauxite in the presence of carbon were studied by means of a gas-flow type DTA, X-ray analysis and SEM observation, and the reactivity of Al-compounds as their constituents was compared. In the case of fly ash, the exothermic peak due to the formation of AlCl3 (mainly) and FeCl3 appeared at about 790–920°C. The reactivity of Al estimated from the DTA peak temperature depended on the particle size, carbon content and preparation temperature of fly ash, and was much lower than that of bauxite. Fractional conversion of Al was about 60–70%, when fly ash (?300 mesh) was heated up to 900°C in Cl2 at 5°C min?1 of heating rate. In the case of bauxite, two exothermic peaks due to the chlorination of Fe and Al appeared at about 270 and 490°C, respectively. The chlorination of Al was completed at 550°C under the above conditions.  相似文献

Thermal properties of the single crystals have been investigated by thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) techniques. The thermodynamic parameters such as activation energy and enthalpy and thermal stability temperature of the samples were calculated from the differential thermal analysis (DTA) and TG data. The activation energies for first peak of DTA curves were found as 496.65 (for Cd–Pd) and 419.37 kJ mol–1 (for Zn–Pd). For second peak, activation energies were calculated 116.56 (for Cd–Pd) and 173.96 kJ mol–1 (for Zn–Pd). The thermal stability temperature values of the Cd–Pd and Zn–Pd compounds at 10°C min–1 heating rate are determined as approximately 220.7 and 203°C, respectively. The TG results suggest that thermal stability of the Cd–Pd complex is higher than that of the Zn–Pd complex.  相似文献

The title polymer was obtained electrochemically by the reduction of 4,4'-bis(dibromomethyl)-2,2'-dimethoxybiphenyl under very smooth conditions. The DSC and TG/DTG curves registered at four different heating rates showed that the polymer is stable in air up to 150°C, where smooth degradation starts. Above 300°C, decomposition is fast and exothermic (ΔH= –323 J g–1) . The activation energy (116±4 kJ mol–1 ) was determined by Ozawa's method. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Effect of particle size on pyrolysis characteristics of Elbistan lignite   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
In this study, the relationship between particle size and pyrolysis characteristics of Elbistan lignite was examined by using the thermogravimetric (TG/DTG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) techniques. Lignite samples were separated into different size fractions. Experiments were conducted at non-isothermal conditions with a heating rate of 10°C min−1 under nitrogen atmosphere up to 900°C. Pyrolysis regions, maximum pyrolysis rates and characteristic peak temperatures were determined from TG/DTG curves. Thermogravimetric data were analyzed by a reaction rate model assuming first-order kinetics. Apparent activation energy (E) and Arrhenius constant (A r) of pyrolysis reaction of each particle size fraction were evaluated by applying Arrhenius kinetic model. The apparent activation energies in the essential pyrolysis region were calculated as 27.36 and 28.81 kJ mol−1 for the largest (−2360+2000 μm) and finest (−38 μm) particle sizes, respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, the thermal behaviours of two organophosphorous compounds, N,N-dimethyl-N′,N′-diphenylphosphorodihydrazidic (NDD) and diphenyl amidophosphate (DPA), were studied by thermogravimetery (TG), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and differential scanning calorimetery (DSC) techniques under non-isothermal conditions. The results showed that NDD melts about 185 °C before it decomposes. NDD decomposition occurs in two continuous steps, in the 190–410 °C temperature range. First thermal degradation stage for NDD results a broad exothermic peak in the DTA curve that is continued with a small exothermic peak at the end of decomposition process. On the other hand, applying TG-DTA techniques indicates that DPA melts about 150 °C before it decomposes. This compound decomposes in the temperature range of 230 to 330 °C in two steps. These steps are endothermic and exothermic, respectively. Activation energy and pre-exponential factor for the first step of decomposition of each compound were found by means of Kissinger method and were verified by Ozawa–Flynn–Wall method. Activation energy obtained by Kissinger method for the first stage of NDD and DPA decompositions are 138 and 170 KJ mol−1, respectively. Finally, the thermodynamic parameters (ΔG #, ΔH # and ΔS #) for first step decomposition of investigated organophosphorous were determined.  相似文献

The thermoanalytical curves (TA), i.e. TG, DTG and DTA for pure cephalexin and its mixtures with talc, magnesium stearate, starch and microcrystalline cellulose, respectively, were drawn up in air and nitrogen at a heating rate of 10 °C min−1. The thermal degradation was discussed on the basis of EGA data obtained for a heating rate of 20 °C min−1. Until 250 °C, the TA curves are similar for all mixtures, up this some peculiarities depending on the additive appears. These certify that between the pure cephalosporin and the excipients do not exists any interaction until 250 °C. A kinetic analysis was performed using the TG/DTG data in air for the first step of cephalexin decomposition at four heating rates: 5, 7, 10 and 12 °C min−1. The data processing strategy was based on a differential method (Friedman), an integral method (Flynn–Wall–Ozawa) and a nonparametric kinetic method (NPK). This last one allowed an intrinsic separation of the temperature, respective conversion dependence on the reaction rate and less speculative discussions on the kinetic model. All there methods had furnished very near values of the activation energy, this being an argument for a single thermooxidative degradation at the beginning (192–200 °C).  相似文献

Thiourea Urea Zinc (II) Chloride (TUZC), a new semiorganic non-linear optical material has been synthesized. The solubility studies have been carried out at room temperature. Single crystals of different proportions of TUZC have been grown by slow evaporation of saturated aqueous solution at room temperature. The FTIR and UV spectral bands have been compared with urea, thiourea and bis Thiourea Zinc Chloride (BTZC). The TG curve showed a two steps mass loss on heating the compound between 30 and 800 °C corresponding to two exothermic DTA peaks at 181–183 and 250–252 oC.  相似文献

Petroleum samples were analyzed by TG between 25–600°C. Mass loss was observed up to 500°C. The volatile fraction of petroleum samples in the range of 25–150°C were recovered by bubbling the outgoing gaseous products of the TG experiments in dichloromethane. Each volatile fraction obtained was analyzed by HRGC-MS for identification and quantification of the major components. Following this procedure the classification of the petroleum samples were done according to the obtained mass losses between 25–150°C (which varied from 1.76 to 21.89%) and according to their normal paraffin, aromatic and naphthene contents.  相似文献

The Co(II)–diclofenac complex was evaluated by simultaneous thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The DTA curve profile shows one exothermic peak because of the transition phase of the compound between 170 and 180 °C, which was confirmed by X-ray powder diffractometry. The transition phase behavior was studied by DSC curves at several heating rates of a sample mass between 1 and 10 mg in nitrogen atmosphere and in a crucible with and without a lid. Thus, the kinetic parameters were evaluated using an isoconversional non-linear fitting proposed by Capela and Ribeiro. The results show that the activation energy and pre-exponential factor for the transition phase is dependant on the different experimental conditions. Nevertheless, these results indicate that the kinetic compensation effect shows a relationship between them.  相似文献

Activated carbons (AC), particularly those containing sulphur, are effective adsorbents for mercury (Hg) vapour at elevated temperatures. Activated carbon-based technologies are expected to become a major part of the strategy for controlling mercury emission from coal-fired power plants. Understanding the mechanism of mercury adsorption on sulphur impregnated activated carbons (SIAC) is essential to optimizing activated carbons for better mercury removal efficiency and to developing technologies for the handling of the spent AC. In this work thermal analysis before and after mercury uptake was carried out for the SIAC prepared under various conditions from oil-sand petroleum coke using a simultaneous differential thermal analyzer. Samples were heated at 20°C min−1 under nitrogen in the temperature range from ambient to 1000°C. The DSC curves suggest both endothermic and exothermic changes during heating. The endothermic processes were attributed to evaporation of moisture and other volatile components. The exothermic processes existed in a wide temperature range of 150–850°C likely due to the oxidation reactions between carbon and adsorbed oxygen, oxygen-containing surface groups. The enthalpies of liquid mercury interaction with SIAC at different Hg/AC mass ratio were also measured at 30, 40 and 50°C using a differential scanning calorimeter. The combination of thermal analysis and calorimetry techniques enabled confirmation that the interaction of mercury with SIAC involves both physical and chemical processes.  相似文献

An amide-type local anesthetic drug, bupivacaine hydrochloride (BupiHCl), in the form of racemate is listed in the European and American pharmacopoeias and continues to be used in medicine. Thermal and X-ray analysis of commercial BupiHCl monohydrate was performed by differential scanning calorimetry with thermogravimetry, hot stage microscopy, and X-ray diffraction. Endothermic dehydration occurs at the temperature range of 73–130 °C for DSC–TG 111 (Setaram) and at 83–150 °C for DSC 404 (Netzsch). Both curves at 2 and 10 °C min−1 clearly reflect phase transformation of anhydrous Form I into II before reaching the melting point. A well-defined exothermic phase transition of BupiHCl was detected at a lower heating rate. Temperature-resolved X-ray diffraction in conjunction with DSC led to determining a similarity between the obtained thermal events. Microscopic investigation also confirmed the above-mentioned transformations.  相似文献

Na-montmorillonite (Na-MONT) was loaded with hexadecyltrimethylammonium cations (HDTMA) by replacing 41 and 90% of the exchangeable Na with HDTMA. The organoclays were labeled OC-41 and OC-90, respectively. Freeze-dried Na-MONT, OC-41, and OC-90 were heated in air at 150, 250, 360, 420, 550, 700, and 900 °C. The thermally treated samples were suspended in water, air-dried, and desiccated over silica during 40 days. All samples were diffracted by X-ray and fitting calculations were performed on each diffractogram. These calculations gave information on basal spacings, relative concentrations, and homogeneity of the different tactoids obtained at each temperature, before and after suspending and desiccating. HDTMA-MONT tactoids with spacing ≥1.41 nm appeared between 25 and 250 °C. OC-41 or OC-90 intercalated monolayers or bilayers of HDTMA, respectively. At 250 °C OC-41 was air-oxidized to a smaller extent than OC-90, resulting in charcoal-MONT tactoids. With further heating the organic matter was gradually oxidized and at 700 °C both clays were collapsed. During the thermo-XRD-analysis of both organoclays three types of charcoal-MONT complexes appeared: (1) LTSC-MONT tactoids with a basal spacing 1.32–1.39 nm, between 250 and 420 °C in both clays; (2) HTSC-α-MONT tactoids with spacing 1.22–1.28 nm, between 360 or 250 and 500 or 550 °C in OC-41 or OC-90, respectively; (3) HTSC-β-MONT with spacing 1.12–1.18 nm, between 360 and 550 °C in both clays, where LTSC and HTSC are low- and high-temperature stable charcoal, respectively. HTSC-β-MONT differs from HTSC-α-MONT by having carbon atoms keying into the ditrigonal holes of the clay-O-planes.  相似文献

Grinding and contact with water or salt solution increased the specific surface (ssa) but lowered the first dehydration effect (escaping up to 150°C) and increased the second dehydration effect (150 to 500°C). The dehydroxylation was moved to lower temperatures and was only ΔM(500-1100°C)=3.7±0.3 % as compared to 5.5% in the parent vermiculite (V). Except ΔM(20-150°C), the mass losses measured at the remaining T ranges, were consistent in the ground samples, thus the grinding for 2 min caused the homogenization of the crystal structure of vermiculite [ΔM(150-500°C)=7.6±0.7%]. DTA curves after grinding and cation exchange indicate an important exothermal peak at 795-870°C, its temperature depending on exchangeable cation. It indicates the formation of high temperature phases (enstatite, forsterite, spinel). The lowest temperature of the peak (795°C) was observed in V-gr-Li, here lithium silicate was formed. The highest peak temperature (870°C) was found in V-gr-K, where almost only forsterite developed. These exothermal peaks were very weak in unground V with various exchangeable cations.
