[reaction: see text] NMR diffusion measurements were used to characterize the self-assembled molecular capsule of pyrogallolarene 2c in CDCl(3) solutions. The results were compared with the characteristics of the hexameric capsule of 1b. Although both 2c and 1b self-assemble into hexameric capsules, the role of water in these capsules is rather different. It was also found that the capsule of 2c is more stable in polar media than that of 1b.  相似文献

Encapsulation and luminescence studies of [Ir(ppy)2(bpy)]Cl (ppy=2‐phenylpyridinate, bpy=2,2′‐bipyridine) within a hexameric resorcinarene capsule are reported. One IrIII complex cation was encapsulated within the capsule, as demonstrated by NMR and dynamic light scattering (DLS) studies. The emission color of the IrIII complex was drastically changed from orange to yellow by encapsulation, in contrast with the lack of significant changes in the absorption spectrum. The hexameric capsule effectively hampers the non‐radiative pathway to increase both the luminescence quantum yield and the exited state lifetime. The luminescent properties of the encapsulated IrIII complex depend on the ratio of IrIII complex to the resorcinarene monomer as well as the concentration of resorcinarene monomer owing to the reversible process of self‐assembly of the hexameric capsule. Quenching experiments revealed that the IrIII complex in the capsule was effectively separated from quenchers.  相似文献

A hexameric metal–organic nanocapsule is assembled from pyrogallol[4]arene units, which are stitched together with indium ions. This indium-seamed capsule is the first instance of a M24L6 type hexameric coordination cage held together exclusively by trivalent metal ions. Explicitly, unlike previously reported pyrogallol[4]arene-based metal-seamed capsules, the current In3+ seamed capsule is entirely supported by O→In coordinate bonds. This work demonstrates the important proof of concept of the ability of pyrogallol[4]arene to react with metals in higher oxidation states to assemble into atomically-precise hexameric coordination cages. As such, these results open up exciting avenues toward the assembly of previously unanticipated metal–organic capsules, for example offering inspiration for tackling metals exhibiting high valence states such as in the lanthanide and actinide series.  相似文献

The interaction of the self-assembled trinuclear ruthenium bowl 1 3+, that displays three other accessible oxidation states, with oxo-anions is investigated. Using a combination of NMR and electrochemical experimental data, estimates of the binding affinities of 1 4+, 1 5+, and 1 6+ for both halide and oxo-anions were derived. This analysis revealed that, across the range of oxidation states of the host, both high anion binding affinities (>109 M−1 for specific guests bound to 1 6+) and high selectivities (a range of >107 M−1) were observed. As the crystal structure of binding of the hexafluorophosphate anion revealed that the host has two potential binding sites (named the α and β pockets), the host-guest properties of both putative binding sites of the bowl, in all of its four oxidation states, were investigated through detailed quantum-based computational studies. These studies revealed that, due to the interplay of ion-ion interactions, charge-assisted hydrogen-bonding and anion-π interactions, binding to the α pocket is generally preferred, except for the case of the relatively large and lipophilic hexafluorophosphate anionic guest and the host in the highest oxidation states, where the β pocket becomes relatively favourable. This analysis confirms that host-guest interactions involving structurally complex supramolecular architectures are driven by a combination of non-covalent interactions and, even in the case of charged binding pairs, simple ion-ion interactions alone cannot accurately define these recognition processes.  相似文献

The confinement of substrates inside the cavity of self-assembled capsules makes it possible to effectively catalyze organic reactions in a way that is analogous to how enzymes work in biological systems. Due to steric constraints, solvent exclusion, intermediates stabilization, and conformational control of substrates, chemical reactions taking place in a confined space may exhibit unique processes. As a result, the fundamental rules of organic reactivity are frequently broken. The hexameric capsule CR, an intriguing supramolecular assembly formed by six resorcinarene 1 macrocycles and eight water molecules, is the subject of this review. This assembly has proven to be effective at catalyzing several chemical reactions by controlling reactivity and selectivity in its confined space.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] NMR diffusion measurements were used to probe the differences in the characteristics of the hexameric capsule of [c]-undecane resorcin[4]arene (1b) in a CDCl(3) solution in the absence and presence of tetrahexylammonium bromide (THABr). It was found that the nonencapsulated THABr forms a 1:1 complex with 1b, which is in fast exchange with its constituents. We found that water molecules seem not to participate in the construction of the THABr hexameric capsule of 1b in a CDCl(3) solution, in contrast to the finding in the absence of THABr, where the major species in CDCl(3) seems to be [(1b)(6)(H(2)O)(8)].  相似文献

A series of mono- and binuclear ruthenium(II) tris-bipyridine complexes tethered to oligothienylenevinylenes have been synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and TOF-MS spectrometry. Photophysics, electrochemistry and electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) properties of these complexes are investigated. The electronic absorption spectra of the mononuclear ruthenium complexes show a significant red shift both at MLCT (metal-to-ligand charge transfer) and π-π transitions of oligothienylenevinylenes with increase in the number of thiophenyl-2-yl-vinyl unit. For the binuclear complexes these two absorption bands are overlapped. All the metal complexes have very weak emission compared to that of the reference complex Ru(bpy)2+3. The first reduction potentials of all mononuclear ruthenium complexes are less negative than that of Ru(bpy)2+3, due to the moderate electron-withdrawing effect of oligothienylenevinylenes. For binuclear ruthenium complexes, only one Ru(II/III) oxidation peak (E1/2 = 0.96 V vs. Ag/Ag+) was observed, suggesting a weak interaction between two metal centers. Three successive reduction processes of bipyridine ligands are similar among all ruthenium complexes except for RuTRu, which has a very sharp peak owing to the accumulation of neutral product on the electrode surface. All these ruthenium complexes exhibited different ECL property in CH3CN solution without any additional reductant or oxidant. For three mononuclear ruthenium complexes, the ECL intensity strengthens with increase in the number of thiophene-2-yl-vinyl unit. However, the ECL efficiency dramatically decreased in the binuclear ruthenium complexes. The ECL efficiencies of all the reported complexes do not exceed that of Ru(bpy)2+3, where the ECL efficiency decreases in the order of RuTRu > Ru3T > Ru2T > RuT > Ru2TRu (RuT,bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-(4-methyl-4′-(2-thienylethenyl)-2,2′-bipyridine) ruthenium dihexafluorophosphate; Ru2T, bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-(4-methyl-4′-{(E)-2-[5-((E)-2-thienylethenyl)-thienylethenyl]}-2,2′-bipyridine) ruthenium dihexafluorophosphate; Ru3T, bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-(4-methyl-4′-{(E)-2-{(E)-2-[5-((E)-2-thienylethenyl)-thienylethenyl]}}-2,2′-bipyridine) ruthenium dihexafluorophosphate; RuTRu, bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-ruthenium-bis-[2-((E)-4′-methyl-2, 2′-bipyridinyl-4)-ethenyl]-thienyl-bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-ruthenium tetrahexafluorophosphate; Ru2TRu, bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-ruthenium-(E)-1,2-bis-{2-[2-((E)-4′-methyl-2,2′-bipyridinyl-4)-ethenyl]-thienyl}-ethenyl-bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-ruthenium tetrahexafluorophosphate).  相似文献

The possible inclusion complexes of Cp2NbCl2 into calixarenes hosts have been investigated. The existence of a true inclusion complex in the solid state was confirmed by a combination of NMR, ab-initio calculations, thermogravimetric analysis, FTIR, Raman and PXRD. Ab-initio calculations, 1H NMR solution and solid state 13C CP-MAS NMR results demonstrated that p-sulfonic calix[6]arene does form an inclusion complex with Cp2NbCl2. Raman spectroscopy showed, for the inclusion compound of p-sulfonic calix[6]arene-Cp2NbCl2, a band between 500 and 850 cm−1 characteristic of Nb-O vibration. This result suggests that Nb(V) may engage in coordination with the oxygen of the sulfonate group, as part of the host-guest interaction. However, it is important to mention that the niobocene dichloride (Cp2NbCl2) dissolves in water and undergoes oxidation and hydrolysis processes to yield Cp2NbCl2(OH) species. For that reason this band does not exclude that the Nb-O band belongs to Cp2NbCl2(OH). Solid State 13C CP-MAS NMR and solution 1H NMR spectroscopies together with ab-initio results showed that Cp2NbCl2 is included in the p-sulfonic calix[6]arene cavity, with both Cp rings inside the cavity. In contrast, the solution 1H NMR results demonstrated that calix[6]arene does not form inclusion complex with Cp2NbCl2 in CDCl3 solution. Cp2NbCl2 is not included in the calix[6]arene cavity, possibly due to the lack of sulfonate heads which promote Nb-O interactions and assist the inclusion of Cp2NbCl2 into the cavity.  相似文献

The kinetics of the oxidation of sulfanilic acid (SAA) by sodium N-chloro-p-toluenesulfonamide (CAT) in the presence and absence of ruthenium(III) chloride have been investigated at 303 K in perchloric acid medium. The reaction shows a first-order dependence on [CAT]o and a non-linear dependence on both [SAA]o and [HClO4] for both the ruthenium(III)-catalyzed and uncatalyzed reactions. The order with respect to [RuIII] is unity. The effects of added p-toluenesulfonamide, halide, ionic strength, and dielectric constant have been studied. Activation parameters have been evaluated. The rate of the reaction increases in the D2O medium. The stoichiometry of the reaction was found to be 1:1 and the oxidation product of SAA was identified as N-hydroxyaminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid. The ruthenium(III)-catalyzed reactions are about four-fold faster than the uncatalyzed reactions. The protonated conjugate acid (CH3C6H4SO2NH2Cl+) is postulated as the reactive oxidizing species in both the cases.  相似文献

Kinetics of ruthenium (III) catalyzed oxidation of atenolol by permanganate in alkaline medium at constant ionic strength of 0.30 mol dm3 has been studied spectrophotometrically using a rapid kinetic accessory. Reaction between permanganate and atenolol in alkaline medium exhibits 1 : 8 stoichiometry (atenolol : KMnO4). The reaction shows first-order dependence on [permanganate] and [ruthenium (III)] and apparently less than unit order on both atenolol and alkali concentrations. Reaction rate decreases with increase in ionic strength and increases with decreasing dielectric constant of the medium. Initial addition of reaction products does not affect the rate significantly. A mechanism involving the formation of a complex between catalyst and substrate has been proposed. The active species of ruthenium (III) is understood as [Ru(H2O)5OH]2+. The reaction constants involved in the different steps of mechanism are calculated. Activation parameters with respect to the slow step of the mechanism are computed and discussed and thermodynamic quantities are also calculated.  相似文献

Three half-sandwich ruthenium(II) complexes with hydroxyl group functionalized Schiff-base ligands [Ru(p-cymene)LCl] ( 2a-2c ) have been synthesized and characterized. All ruthenium complexes were fully characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectra, mass spectrometry and infrared spectrometry. The molecular structure of ruthenium complex 2c was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. Furthermore, these half-sandwich ruthenium complexes were found to exhibit high catalytic activity for nitro compounds reduction using NaBH4 reducing agent in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in water at room temperature.  相似文献

Results of DFT calculations of the structure and thermodynamics of formation of aqua and tetraammine Cu(II) complexes inside CB[n] (n = 6,8) are presented in this study. Formation thermodynamics of the complexes in the cavitands was evaluated by taking into account the most probable number of water molecules inside CB[n]. In this methodology, the complexation was first considered as a substitution reaction in which the guest complex displaces partially or completely the water molecules that are located inside the cavity. The water molecules present in the cavitand were shown to play an important role in the fixation of the guest complex inside the cavity due to the hydrogen bonds with the oxygen portals. The hydration of Cu(II) ion inside CB[6] leads to the formation of an inclusion compound with the formula {[Cu(H2O)4]2+·2H2O}@CB[6] while in CB[8] {[Cu(H2O)6]2+·4H2O}@CB[8] is formed. For the binding of tetraammine Cu(II) complex, CB[8] was determined to be a significantly more suitable “container” than CB[6]. Both a direct embedding of this complex into the CB[8] and another mechanism in which ammonia molecules replace the water molecules in the Cu(II) aqua complex, preexisting in CB[8] were determined to be thermodynamically possible. Both these lead to the formation of the resultant inclusion compound described by the formula {[Cu(NH3)4(H2O)2]2+·4H2O}@CB[8].  相似文献

Stable cyclic bent-allene 1 displaces the chelating ether linkage of the Hoveyda-Grubbs-type ruthenium complex 2 bearing triphenylphosphine. The resulting complex 3 features an unusual cis-arrangement of the phosphine and the cyclic bent-allene, while retaining a distorted square pyramidal geometry around the ruthenium center. Monitoring by 31P NMR spectroscopy the reaction of cyclic bent-allene 1 with the indenylidene bis(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium dichloride complex 4 allowed for the observation of dissociated triphenylphosphine, and the formation of a ruthenium complex featuring 1 and triphenylphosphine in the desired trans-configuration. However, continued reaction times saw the disappearance of this complex, and after workup complex 5 featuring a cis-arrangement was isolated.  相似文献

A 1H and 13C NMR study on the inclusion complex between β-cyclodextrin and naphthalene, 1,5-dichloronaphthalene and 9,10-anthraquinone was carried out in order to define the stoichiometry of the association and the possible conformations. The upfield variation of the chemical shifts from the protons locate inside the cavity (H-3, H-5) coupled with the downfield variation of the other protons which locate outer sphere of the β-CD (H-1, H-2, H-4 and H-6,6′) provided clear evidence of the inclusion phenomena. The NMR spectra revealed the formation of 1:1 inclusion complex in which aromatic ring of the guest is tightly held by the host cavity. The signal degeneration of 1H & 13C NMR spectra still exist for naphthalene and 1,5-dichloronaphthalene upon complexation revealed a symmetrical conformation of the guest molecules in the cavity of β-cyclodextrin, respectively. However, in 9,10-anthraquinone, the signal degeneration of 1H & 13C NMR spectra was removed upon complexation which revealed an unsymmetrical conformation of the guest molecule inside the cavity. According to theoretical calculations and NMR studies, the possible conformations of the inclusion complexes are given here.  相似文献

The complexation of the oestrogenic mycotoxin zearalenone (ZEN) and its metabolites α- and β-zearalenol (ZOLs) with native β-cyclodextrins (β-CD) and modified hydroxypropyl-β-CD and dimethyl-β-CD was studied by fluorescence spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and electrospray-mass spectrometry. The formation of the inclusion complex was confirmed by NMR studies of zearalenone:β-CD solution. NMR, ESI-MS and fluorescence data are in agreement with the formation of a 1:1 complex between zearalenone and β-CD, characterized by the deep insertion of the phenolic moiety inside the cavity of the CD from its secondary side. The complexes formed between the guests and native β-CD are characterized by high stability constants (>104), as measured by fluorescence titrations.  相似文献

In this study, calix[4]arene derivatives (1114) bearing a single nucleobase (adenine, thymine, cytosine or guanine) were synthesised via click chemistry. The complexation ability of the synthesised derivatives with alkali metal ions was measured using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, and their molecular assembly in CDCl3 was determined using 1H NMR. Calix[4]arene derivatives (1114) formed 1:1 complexes with all alkali metal ions and the rank order for the complexation selectivity was Rb+ > Cs+ > K+ ? Na+ > Li+. The attachment of nucleobase at the upper rim of calix[4]arene had little effect on its complexation selectivity for alkali metal ions. Thymine-, adenine- and guanine-calix[4]arenes formed self-assembled structures in CDCl3 via base–base interactions. In addition, adenine-calix[4]arene (11) bound to thymine-calix[4]arene (12) to form a discrete species via Hoogsteen hydrogen bonding.  相似文献

Selective hydrogenation of bicarbonate to formate catalyzed by a ruthenium(III) complex, [RuIII(edta)] (edta4? = ethylenediaminetetraacetate), at moderate H2 pressure (2–8 atm) and temperature (30–40 °C) is reported. Formation of formate, the only reduction product, was identified by 13C NMR analysis of the resultant reaction mixture. Based on the spectral data, a working mechanism (admittedly speculative) involving the formation of ruthenium(III)-bicarbonate complex, [RuIII(edta)(HCO3)]2?, is proposed for the catalytic reaction.  相似文献
