The effects of annealing temperatures on stretched poly(vinylidene fluoride) film were systematically studied from the “as-received” condition up to the melting range (180°C). X-ray diffraction studies indicate that the annealing process brings about better chain packing and increased crystallite perfection. The elastic modulus and piezoelectric strain and stress constants, d3, and e31, decrease as the annealing temperature Ta increases up to 160°C, while the remanent polarization Pr remains almost constant. Some of these characteritics may be interpreted in terms of a morphological transformation of microfibrils. The values of Pr, d31, and e31 increase dramatically as Ta increases from 160 to 180°C; Pr increases from 56 to 85 mC/m2, d31 from 20.2 to 27.7 pC/N, and e31 from 51.4 to 65.2 mC/m2. As a result, the values of Pr and d31 were the largest recorded from any of the samples used in the present study. e31 showed a value close to the largest one; this usually occurs in unannealed samples. Samples annealed in the melting range also exhibit significantly improved ageing characteristics. The large value of Pr and the small relaxation strength of both the dielectric constant and elastic modulus indicates that the largest crystallinity obtained is approximately 70%.  相似文献

Oriented poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) films with β‐form crystals have been commonly prepared by cold drawing of a melt‐quenched film consisting of α‐form crystals. In this study, we have successfully produced highly oriented PVDF thin films (20 µm thick) with β‐crystals and a high crystallinity (55–76%), by solid‐state coextrusion of a gel film to eight times the original length at an established optimum extrusion temperature of 160°C, some 10°C below the melting temperature. The resultant drawn films had a highly oriented (orientation function fc = 0.993) fibrous structure, showing high mechanical properties of an extensional elastic modulus of 8.3 GPa and tensile strength of 0.84 GPa, along the draw direction. Such highly oriented and crystalline films exhibited excellent ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties. The square hysteresis loop was significantly sharper than that of a conventional sample. The sharp switching transient yielded the remnant polarization Pr of 90 mC/m2, and the electromechanical coupling factor kt was 0.24 at room temperature. These values are about 1.5 times greater than those of a conventional β‐PVDF film. Thus, solid‐state coextrusion near the melting point was found to be a useful technique for the preparation of highly oriented and highly crystalline β‐PVDF films with superior mechanical and electrical properties. The morphology of the extrudate relevant to such properties is discussed. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci B: Polym Phys 37: 2549–2556, 1999  相似文献

Gel films of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) consisting of α‐form crystals were drawn uniaxially by solid‐state coextrusion to extrusion draw ratios (EDR) up to 9 at an optimum extrusion temperature of 160 °C, about 10°C below the melting temperature (Tm). The development of an oriented structure and mechanical and electrical properties on coextrusion drawing were studied as a function of EDR. Wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction patterns showed that the α crystals in the original gel films were progressively transformed into oriented β‐form crystals with increasing EDR. At the highest EDR of 9 achieved, the drawn product consisted of a highly oriented fibrous morphology with only β crystals even for the draw near the Tm. The dynamic Young's modulus along the draw direction also increased with EDR up to 10.5 GPa at the maximum EDR of 9. The electrical properties of ferroelectricity and piezoelectricity were also markedly enhanced on solid‐state coextrusion. The DE square hysteresis loop became significantly sharper with EDR, and a remanent polarization Pr of 100 mC/m2 and electromechanical coupling factor along the thickness direction kt of 0.27 were achieved at the maximum EDR of 9. The crystallinity value of 73–80% for the EDR 9 film, estimated from these electrical properties, compares well with that calculated by the ratio of the crystallite size along the chain axis to the meridional small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS) long period, showing the average thickness of the lamellae within the drawn β film. These results, as well as the appearance of a strong SAXS maximum, suggest that the oriented structure and properties of the β‐PVDF are better explained in terms of a crystal/amorphous series arrangement along the draw axis. Further, the mechanical and electrical properties obtained in this work are the highest among those ever reported for a β‐PVDF, and the latter approaches those observed for the vinylidene fluoride and trifluoroethylene copolymers. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. To prepare thermally stable and high‐performance polymeric films, new solvent‐soluble aromatic polyamides with a carbamoyl pendant group, namely poly(4,4′‐diamino‐3′‐carbamoylbenzanilide terephthalamide) (p‐PDCBTA) and poly(4,4′‐diamino‐3′‐carbamoylbenzanilide isophthalamide) (m‐PDCBTA), were synthesized. The polymers were cyclized at around 200 to 350 °C to form quinazolone and benzoxazinone units along the polymer backbone. The decomposition onset temperatures of the cyclized m‐ and p‐PDCBTAs were 457 and 524 °C, respectively, lower than that of poly(p‐phenylene terephthalamide) (566 °C). For the p‐PDCBTA film drawn by 40% and heat‐treated, the tensile strength and Young's modulus were 421 MPa and 16.4 GPa, respectively. The film cyclized at 350 °C showed a storage modulus (E′) of 1 × 1011 dyne/cm2 (10 GPa) over the temperature range of room temperature to 400 °C. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Bi-layered ferroelectric Bi3TiTaO9 (BTT) thin films with different thickness (ranging from 100 to 400 nm) were successfully fabricated on Pt(111)/TiO2/SiO2/(100)Si substrates using chemical solution deposition (CSD) technique at different annealing temperatures. The c-axis orientation of the films was affected by film thickness and process temperature. The thinner the film and the higher the process temperature, the higher the c-axis orientation. With the increase of film thickness, the stress decreased but the film roughness increased, which led to the decrease of c-axis orientation of films. BTT films annealed at 800°C were found to have much improved remament polarization (P r ) than that of films annealed at 650 and 750°C. The P r and coercive field (E c ) values were measured to be 2 μC/cm2 and 100 kV/cm, respectively. BTT films showed well-defined ferroelectric properties with grain size larger than 100 nm.  相似文献

Bis(4‐nitraminofurazanyl‐3‐azoxy)azofurazan ( 1 ) and ten of its energetic salts were prepared and fully characterized. Computational analysis based on isochemical shielding surface and trigger bond dissociation enthalpy provide a better understanding of the thermal stabilities for nitramine‐furazans. These energetic compounds exhibit good densities, high heats of formation, and excellent detonation velocity and pressure. Some representative compounds, for example, 1 (vD: 9541 m s?1; P: 40.5 GPa), and 4 (vD: 9256 m s?1; P: 38.0 GPa) exhibit excellent detonation performances, which are comparable with current high explosives such as RDX (vD: 8724 m s?1; P: 35.2 GPa) and HMX (vD: 9059 m s?1; P: 39.2 GPa).  相似文献

To obtain β‐phase dominant ferroelectric poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) homopolymer thin films on aluminum‐coated silicon substrates, the retaining and loss of water were manipulated by introducing several hydrated and hygroscopic chemicals in the precursor solutions, including aluminum nitrate nonahydrate, aluminum chloride hexahydrate, chromium nitrate nonahydrate, tetra‐n‐butylammonium chloride, and one hygroscopic but nonhydrated chemical, ammonium acetate. Their ability of retaining water during the thermal annealing of the films and the relationship between water retaining and the effects on promoting the β phase were investigated. The results showed an ideal scenario was that the added hydrated salts should be able to retain substantial amount of water during the PVDF crystallization to effectively promote the β phase but completely dehydrate or decompose at the further elevated annealing temperature in order to obtain β‐phase dominant PVDF film without substantially incorporating water and deteriorating the electrical properties. As one of the hydrated chemicals well satisfying the above requirements, Al(NO3)3·9H2O, of different amounts was introduced to the PVDF precursor solutions and the optimal resulting β‐phase dominant ferroelectric PVDF thin films exhibited smooth morphology, low dielectric loss, high remnant polarization of 89 mC/m2, and large effective piezoelectric coefficient d33 of ?14.5 pm/V (under the clamping of the substrate). © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties of a new class of polymer ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials, nylon 11/polyvinylidene fluoride (PVF2) bilaminate films, prepared by a co-melt-pressing method, is presented. The bilaminate films exhibit typical ferroelectric D-E hysteresis behavior with a remanent polarization, Pr, of about 75 mC/m2, which is higher than the value of 52 mC/m2 observed for PVF2 or nylon 11 films measured under the same conditions. The coercive field, Ec, of the bilaminate films is ~ 78 MV/m, which is higher than that of either PVF2 or nylon 11 films. Measurements of the temperature dependence of the piezoelectric strain coefficient, d31, and the piezoelectric stress coefficient, e31, were also carried out. The bilaminate films exhibit a piezoelectric strain coefficient, d31, of 41 pC/N at room temperature, which is significantly higher than the PVF2 films (25 pC/N) and the nylon 11 films (3.1 pC/N). When the temperature is increased to 110°C, d31 of the bilaminate films reaches a maximum value of 63 pC/N, more than five times that of PVF2 (11 pC/N) and more than four times that of nylon 11 (14 pC/N) at the same temperature. The piezoelectric stress coefficient, e31, of the bilaminate films shows a value of 109 mC/m2 at room temperature, almost twice that of the PVF2 films (59 mC/m2) and about 18 times that of the nylon 11 films (6.2 mC/m2). Measurement of the temperature dependence of the hydrostatic piezoelectric coefficient, dh, of the bilaminate films also shows an enhancement with respect to the individual components, PVF2 and nylon 11. ©1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Summary Low density polyethylene film is drawn at room temperature four times the original length and subjected to thermal annealing at 60, 80, and 100 °C keeping the film length constant. Long spacing measured by SAXS increased with increasing temperature of annealing; the increase of the long spacing is presumed to be due to the decrease of the number of micelles through relaxation during the annealing. Simultaneous measurement of the changes of the long spacing and the film length by stretching is carried out and stress-extension curves are obtained. The values of the initial moduli of the long spacingE 1 and the film lengthY are very near to each other. Elastic modulus of the crystal latticeE c is known to be 235 GN/m2 and that of the amorphous regionE a is found to be 0.15 GN/m2. When higher stress is applied than in the case of the initial modulus, the percentage of extension of film is much greater than that of the long spacing. The discrepancy is explained by the increase of the number of micelles through stress crystallization.Dedicated to Professor Dr. K. Ueberreiter on the occasion of his 70th birthday.  相似文献

A film of nascent powder of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), compacted below the ambient melting temperature (Tm, 335 °C), was drawn by two‐stage draw techniques consisting of a first‐stage solid‐state coextrusion followed by a second‐stage solid‐state coextrusion or tensile draw. Although the ductility of extrudates was lost for the second‐stage tensile draw at temperatures above 150 °C due to the rapid decrease in strength, as previously reported, the ductility of extrudates increased with temperature even above 150 °C when the second‐stage draw was made by solid‐state coextrusion, reflecting the different deformation flow fields in a free space for the former and in an extrusion die for the latter. Thus, a powder film initially coextruded to a low extrusion draw ratio (EDR) of 6–20 at 325 °C was further drawn by coextrusion to EDRs up to ~?400 at 325–340 °C, near the Tm. Extremely high chain orientation (fc = 0.998 ± 0.001), crystallinity (96.5 ± 0.5)%, and tensile modulus (115 ± 5 GPa at 24 °C, corresponding to 73% of the X‐ray crystal modulus) were achieved at high EDRs. Despite such a morphological perfection and a high modulus, the tensile strength of a superdrawn tape, 0.48 ± 0.03 GPa, was significantly low when compared with those (1.4–2.3 GPa) previously reported by tensile drawing above the Tm. Such a low strength of a superdrawn, high‐modulus PTFE tape was ascribed to the low intermolecular interaction of PTFE and the lack of intercrystalline links along the fiber axis, reflecting the initial chain‐extended morphology of the nascent powder combined with the fairly high chain mobility associated with the crystal/crystal transitions at around room temperature. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Polyazomethines (PAzMs) were prepared from dialdehydes containing different lengths of alkylene groups (m = 2–12) and an ether‐containing common aromatic diamine. The main purpose of this work is to achieve an ultra‐low modulus and a considerably high adhesion strength with a smooth surface (S‐side) of electro‐deposited copper foils for applications as novel coating‐type protective layer materials of flexible printed circuit boards. The elongation at break of the PAzM films was drastically enhanced by increasing the annealing temperature (Ta). The results are probably attributed to a chain extension effect accompanied with solid‐state polymerization promoted at elevated temperatures. An increase in the alkylene chain length (m) led to a gradual decrease in the modulus of the PAzM films owing to an increase in the chain flexibility. It also drastically improved the adhesion strength (S‐side); 8.3 N cm–1 at m = 12 in spite of the absence of anchoring effect. To further decrease the modulus, the PAzM (m = 12) was modified with another diamine comonomer containing a polybutylene oxide block. This approach was very effective for achieving the present target properties; the PAzM copolymer displayed ultra‐low tensile modulus (0.20 GPa) and a very high adhesion strength (9.8 N cm–1) with the S‐side of copper foils. Annealing of poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and small angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS) measurement. A PBT sample was annealed at a recrystallization temperature where recrystallization occurs with a maximum rate in the heating process of the sample. In the subsequent annealing steps, the annealed sample was annealed repeatedly at the recrystallization temperatures, and the stepwise annealing sample was obtained. Peak melting temperature (Tm) and sharpness of DSC peak of the stepwise annealing sample increased with the annealing step. A high melting‐temperature sample was obtained in a short time, and Tm increased up to 238.5°C which is higher than all the Tm values that appear in the literature. The long period calculated from SAXS curves of the stepwise annealing sample increased with the annealing step. The increase of crystallite size and perfection of the crystal in the stepwise annealing process is suggested. Annealing experiment indicated that T°m should be higher than about 235°C. Tm increased linearly with the annealing temperature of the final step in the stepwise annealing (Ta). The equilibrium melting temperature (T°m) for PBT was estimated to be 247°C by the application of a Hoffman–Weeks plot to the relation between Tm vs. Ta. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Perovskite‐type phases SrFe1–xTixO3–y with 0.1 ≤ x ≤ 0.7 have been prepared from the oxides, and, in order to reach high oxygen contents and FeIV fractions, annealed at oxygen pressures of 60 MPa. The materials were characterised by powder x‐ray and neutron diffraction, 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. All samples of the series crystallise in a cubic perovskite structure and reveal considerable oxygen deficiency. The Mössbauer parameters suggest that for x = 0.1, where the FeIV fraction is about 90%, the itinerant electronic state of SrFeO3 is essentially retained. In materials with larger x increasing amounts of TiIV and FeIII ions lead to a stronger localisation of the σ* (Fe 3 d – O 2 p) electrons. There is no evidence for a charge disproportionation of FeIV in any of the materials. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show a divergence of zero‐field cooled and field‐cooled data below a temperature Tm and deviations from Curie‐Weiss behaviour above Tm. The data are indicative of spin‐glass behaviour due to disorder and competing exchange interactions.  相似文献

In recent years, cocrystallization has emerged as an effective way of tuning the properties of compounds and has been widely used in the field of energetic materials. In this study, we have prepared two novel cocrystals of CL‐20 and methylimidazole, including a 1:2 CL‐20 / 2‐mercapto‐1‐methylimidazole ( 1 ) and a 1:4 CL‐20 / 4‐methyl‐5‐nitroimidazole ( 2 ). Cocrystal 1 has good physical and detonation properties (ρ1 = 1.652 g · cm–3, D1 = 7073 m · s–1, P1 = 21.6 GPa); however, cocrystal 2 shows higher properties (ρ2 = 1.680 g · cm–3, D2 = 7945 m · s–1, P2 = 27.4 GPa). The performance of both cocrystals is better than those of TNT. Thermal performance suggests that both the cocrystals have moderate thermal stabilities. Cocrystal 1 decomposes at 164.9 °C and cocrystal 2 has an exothermic peak at 221 °C. Both cocrystals are insensitive energetic explosives (IS > 40 J, FS > 360 N). Methylimidazole compounds are rarely used as coformers to form cocrystals with CL‐20, which possess good properties for a range of potential applications. Herein, we provide new possible directions for enriching cocrystal speciation.  相似文献

Bis(5‐amino‐1,2,4‐triazol‐3‐yl)methane (BATZM, C5H8N8) was synthesized and its crystal structure characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction; it belongs to the space group Fdd2 (orthorhombic) with Z = 8. The structure of BATZM can be described as a V‐shaped molecule with reasonable chemical geometry and no disorder. The specific molar heat capacity (Cp,m) of BATZM was determined using the continuous Cp mode of a microcalorimeter and theoretical calculations, and the Cp,m value is 211.19 J K?1 mol?1 at 298.15 K. The relative deviations between the theoretical and experimental values of Cp,m, HTH298.15K and STS298.15K of BATZM are almost equivalent at each temperature. The detonation velocity (D) and detonation pressure (P) of BATZM were estimated using the nitrogen equivalent equation according to the experimental density; BATZM has a higher detonation velocity (7954.87 ± 3.29 m s?1) and detonation pressure (25.72 ± 0.03 GPa) than TNT.  相似文献

Quantitative structure–activity relationship (QSAR) techniques have found wide application in the fields of drug design, property modeling, and toxicity prediction of untested chemicals. A rigorous validation of the developed models plays the key role for their successful application in prediction for new compounds. The rm2 metrics introduced by Roy et al. have been extensively used by different research groups for validation of regression‐based QSAR models. This concept has been further advanced here with introduction of scaling of response data prior to computation of rm2. Further, a web application (accessible from http://aptsoftware.co.in/rmsquare/ and http://203.200.173.43:8080/rmsquare/ ) for calculation of the rm2 metrics has been introduced here. The present study reports that the web application can be easily used for computation of rm2 metrics provided observed and QSAR‐predicted data for a set of compounds are available. Further, scaling of response data is recommended prior to rm2 calculation. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The radical copolymerization of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and 1‐bromo‐2,2‐difluoroethylene (BDFE) in 1,1,1,3,3‐pentafluorobutane solution at different monomer molar ratios (ranging from 96/4 to 25/75 mol %) and initiated by tert‐butylperoxypivalate (TBPPI, mainly) is presented. Poly(VDF‐co‐BDFE) copolymers of various aspects (from white powders to yellow viscous liquids) were produced depending on the copolymer compositions. The microstructures of the obtained copolymers were characterized by 19F and 1H NMR spectroscopy and by elementary analysis and these techniques enabled one to assess the contents of both comonomers in the produced copolymers. VDF was shown to be more incorporated in the copolymer than BDFE. From the extended Kelen and Tudos method, the kinetics of the radical copolymerization led to the determination of the reactivity ratios, ri, of both comonomers (rVDF = 1.20 ± 0.50 and rBDFE = 0.40 ± 0.15 at 75 °C) showing that VDF is more reactive than BDFE. Alfrey‐Price's Q and e values of BDFE monomer were calculated to be 0.009 (from QVDF = 0.008) or 0.019 (from QVDF = 0.015) and +1.22 (vs. eVDF = 0.40) or +1.37 (vs. eVDF = 0.50), respectively, indicating that BDFE is an electron‐accepting monomer. Statistic cooligomers were produced with molar masses ranging from 1,800 to 5,500 g/mol (assessed by GPC with polystyrene standards). A further evidence of the successful copolymerization was shown by the selective reduction of bromine atoms in poly(VDF‐co‐BDFE) cooligomers that led to analog PVDF. The thermal properties of the poly(VDF‐co‐BDFE) cooligomers were also determined and those containing a high VDF amount exhibited a high thermal stability. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Both poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVF2) and nylon 11 are ferroelectric polymers, and have been extensively studied over the past two decades. Blend films were made from mixed powders of these two polymers, which were then melt pressed and cold drawn. The ferroelectric properties of these blend films were investigated. The remnant polarization, Pr, was found to vary with composition, and to be 60% larger than that of either component at a 50/50 (by weight) composition where Pr exhibited a maximum of about 90 mC/m2. The magnitude of the coercive field, Ec, also exhibited a maximum at this composition. Both Pr and Ec are also observed to change significantly with the draw ratio. The results are discussed based on a two-phase dielectric composite model. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci B: Polym Phys 37: 3217–3225, 1999  相似文献

The rheological behavior of polyaniline‐(±champhor‐10‐sulfonic acid)0.5m‐cresol [PANI‐CSA0.5m‐cresol] gel nanocomposites (GNCs) with Na‐montmorillonite clay (intercalated tactoids) is studied. The shear viscosity exhibits Newtonian behavior for low shear rate (<2 × 10?4 s?1) and power law variation for higher shear rate. The zero shear viscosity (η0) and the characteristic time (λ) increase but the power law index (n) decrease with increase in clay concentration. In the GNCs storage modulus (G′) and loss modulus (G″) are invariant with frequency in contrast to the pure gel. The G′ and G′ exhibit the gel behavior of the GNCs up to 105 °C in contrast to the melting for the pure gel at 75.7 °C. The percent increase of G′ of GNCs increases dramatically (619% in GNC‐5) with increasing clay concentration. The conductivity values are 10.5, 5.65, 5.51, and 4.75 S/cm for pure gel, GNC‐1, GNC‐3, and GNC‐5, respectively, promising their possible use in soft sensing devices. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Hartree–Fock calculations on 20 carbon atom chains of β‐phase poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) were done as a function of bending strain. The results can be modeled in terms of a classical energy versus strain curve resulting in a pseudomodulus (310 GPa) comparable to the Young's modulus calculated for stretching along carbon atom chain (199 GPa). The model also shows that the minimum energy state of a single chain of the polymer is not linear in the all‐trans geometry and that a significant strain energy is stored in natural thin films. This suggests that energy can be captured from bending motions in β‐PVDF. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 49: 1493–1495, 2011  相似文献
