Ion-pair chromatography (IPC) with conductometric detection was investigated as a precise and selective analytical method for the determination of chromium in electro-plating solutions and waste waters. Chromatographic parameters were optimized for separation of Cr(VI) and SO(2-)(4). The analytical column (100 x 6 mm) was packed with 10 mum silasorb C(18) (Czechoslovakia). Tetrabutylammonium butyrate (TBAB), at pH 7.0 in acetonitrile-water (18:82 v/v) mixture, was used as the eluent. Two samples of solution are taken for the analysis. In the first of them the amount of Cr(VI) is determined, in the second one Cr(III) is oxidized to Cr(VI) with H(2)O(2) in alkaline medium and the total amount of Cr is determined. From the difference of the two obtained results the concentration of Cr(III) is calculated. The detection limit of Cr(VI) is 0.1 mug/ml and the relative standard deviation (at the 1.0 mug/ml) is 4.0%. The IPC results for chromium agreed closely with these obtained by spectrophotometry.  相似文献

An aqueous two-phase system of tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) and (NH(4))(2)SO(4) mixture has been developed for the extractive preconcentration and separation of certain compounds. TBAB concentration in upper phase is much higher than that of bottom solution. This new aqueous two-phase system is proposed for the highly selective extraction of Cr(VI) from large amounts of Cr(3+). The Cr(VI) is found to be extracted into the TBAB-rich upper phase due to ion pair formation such as HCrO(4)(-) . TBAB(+). The Cr(VI) was sufficiently extracted into the upper phase in the pH range from 1 to 5. The proposed method has been applied to the determination of trace of Cr(VI) in wastewater samples with a coefficient of variation less than 3.2%. The recovery obtained was not lower than 90%. The determination limit for the Cr(VI) was found to be 60 mug l(-1) in 10 ml of sample solution.  相似文献

A simple, sensitive and selective spectrophotometric method for determination of molybdenum is described. A solution containing 100 mug of Mo in 2.5M hydrochloric acid is treated with ascorbic acid and ammonium thiocyanate and after standing for 8 min is shaken with an equal volume of ethyl methyl ketone for 30 sec. The absorbance of the complex is measured at 465 nm against a reagent blank. The complex is stable for 1 hour. There is no interference from Re(VII), SO(2-)(4), Cl(-), CH(3)COO(-), PO(3-)(4), NO(-)(3), C(2)O(2-)(4), citrate or tartrate, and at least 5 mg of U(VI), 10 mg of Cr(III, VI), Th, or Ni, and 20 mg of W(VI) Can be tolerated. Vanadium(V) interferes at the 500 mug level, and fluoride slightly decreases the absorbance.  相似文献

Ion chromatography is the most popular instrumental analytical method used for the determination of anions and cations in water and wastewater. Isocratic ion chromatography with suppressed conductivity detection is frequently used in laboratories carrying out routine analyses of inorganic anions. The paper presents the results of the research into the influence of selected inorganic anions dominant in environmental samples (Cl(-), NO(3)(-), SO(4)(2-)) on the possibility of simultaneous determination of F(-), Cl(-), NO(2)(-), NO(3)(-), PO(4)(3-) and SO(4)(2-) with the application of this most popular ion chromatography type in standard separation conditions. Four Dionex and four Metrohm anion-exchange columns were tested in standard separation conditions recommended by their manufacturers with both standard solutions and environmental samples with complex matrix.  相似文献

An optical sensor is described for the sensitive and selective determination of the Cr(VI) ion in aqueous solutions. The optode membrane is prepared by incorporating Aliquat 336 as an ionophore and a chromoionophore (4',5'-dibromofluorescein octadecyl ester) in a poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane containing ortho-nitrophenyloctyl ether (o-NPOE) as a plasticizer. The response to Cr(VI) is indicated by co-extraction of the target species and of hydrogen ions into the bulk of the membrane yielding large absorbance changes which can easily be measured in the visible spectral range. The optode membrane shows a reversible response in the concentration range of 1.1x10(-5)-1.0x10(-3) M and has been shown to be more selective towards the HCrO4(-) ion than other anions with a selectivity pattern HCrO4(-) > SCN- approximately = ClO4(-) > NO3(-) approximately = I- approximately = NO2(-) > H2PO4(-) approximately = Cl- approximately = SO4(2-). The sensing method developed has successfully been applied to the determination of Cr(VI) in spiked river water as well as in electroplating rinse waters.  相似文献

An ion chromatography (IC) method has been proposed for the determination of seven common inorganic anions (F(-), H(2)PO(4)(-), NO(2)(-), Cl(-), Br(-), NO(3)(-), and SO(4)(2-)) and/or five common inorganic cations (Na(+), NH(4)(+), K(+), Mg(2+), and Ca(2+)) using a single pump, a single eluent and a single detector. The present system used cation-exchange and anion-exchange columns connected in series via a single 10-port switching valve. The 10-port valve was switched for the separation of either cations or anions in a single chromatographic run. When 1.0mM trimellitic acid (pH 2.94) was used as the eluent, the seven anions and the five cations could be separated on the anion-exchange column and the cation-exchange column, respectively.  利用低压离子色谱法(电导检测器)测定了沈阳地区自来水、湖水、河水和雨水中的Cl-,NO-3和SO2-4。当以1.44mmol/LNa2CO3作淋洗液、流速为1.2mL/min时,分离效果良好,3种阴离子的检出限分别为0.0136,0.204和0.161mg/L,回收率为90%~104%。选定的色谱条件同样适用于NO-2和SO2-3的测定。重点讨论了用低压离子色谱法测定阴离子时在选用淋洗液组成上的局限性。  相似文献

The development of a field portable fiber optic Raman system modified from commercially available components that can operate remotely on battery power and withstand the corrosive environment of the hydrothermal vents is discussed. The Raman system is designed for continuous monitoring in the deep-sea environment. A 785 nm diode laser was used in conjunction with a sapphire ball fiber optic Raman probe, single board computer, and a CCD detector. Using the system at ambient conditions the detection limits of SO(4)(2-), CO(3)(2-) and NO(3)(-) were determined to be approximately 0.11, 0.36 and 0.12 g l(-1) respectively. Mimicking the cold conditions of the sea floor by placing the equipment in a refrigerator yielded slightly worse detection limits of approximately 0.16 g l(-1) for SO(4)(-2) and 0.20 g l(-1) for NO(3)(-). Addition of minerals commonly found in vent fluid plumes also decreased the detection limits to approximately 0.33 and 0.34 g l(-1) respectively for SO(4)(-2) and NO(3)(-).  相似文献

On the basis of the chromogenic reaction of chromium(VI) with 1,5-diphenylcarbohydrazide (DPC) on the surface of Polysorb C-18 beads and the sequential injection renewable surface technique (SI-RST), a highly sensitive reflect spectrophotometric method for the determination of chromium(III) and chromium(VI) was proposed. Considerations of system and flow cell design, and factors that influence the determination performance were discussed. With 300 microl of sample loaded and 0.6 mg of beads trapped, the linear response range was 0.02 - 0.5 mg l(-1) Cr(VI) with a detection limit (3 sigma) of 2.4 microg l(-1) Cr(VI). The method achieves a precision of 1.3% RSD (n = 11) and a throughput of 53 samples per hour. The determination of Cr(III) was based on the same reaction for the determination of Cr(VI) after being oxidized by (NH4)2S2O8. The precision of the oxidation method was evaluated using a 0.2 mg l(-1) Cr(III) standard, yielding an RSD of 2.5% (n = 11). The average recovery of Cr(III) oxidized was tested to be 99.1%. The proposed method was used in the simultaneous determination of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) in water samples, and the error was less than 3%.  相似文献

对离子色谱法测定饮用水中的F-,C1-,NO3- -N,SO4^2--4种阴离子的分析方法进行了优化。用正交试验法选择最优实验条件为:流速0.9mL/min,柱温32℃。4种阴离子检出限:F-0.02mg/L,Cl-0.04mg/L,NO3--N0.04mg/L,SO4^2- 0.16mg/L。测定结果相对标准偏差均小于5%,回收率为91.3%~106.1%,相关系数大于0.999。该方法操作简便,灵敏度、准确度高,标准工作曲线线性良好,可用于饮用水中F-,C1-,NO3^- —N,SO4^2—4种离子的同时分析。  相似文献

UV-visible absorption spectra of uranium(VI)-tributylphosphate (U(VI)-TBP) complex dissolved in supercritical CO(2) at 40-60 degrees C and 100-250 kg cm(-2) were recorded. Wavelengths and molar extinction coefficients for the absorption peaks of U(VI)-TBP were determined and confirmed to be in good agreement with those of UO(2)(NO(3))(2)(TBP)(2) complex dissolved in organic solvents such as n-hexane. The absorbance at a given wavelength was proportional to the concentration of U(VI) species in supercritical CO(2), indicating a feasibility of in-situ determination of U(VI) concentration in CO(2) phase. A lower detection limit of U(VI)-TBP complex was estimated to be ca. 1x10(-3)M. The molar extinction coefficient of U(VI)-TBP in supercritical CO(2) decreased slightly with an increase of the density of CO(2) medium, suggesting that the solute-solvent interaction of U(VI)-TBP complex with CO(2) was affected by the density. On the basis of the spectra obtained, phase behavior and solubility of UO(2)(NO(3))(2)(TBP)(2)+H(NO(3))(TBP)+TBP in supercritical CO(2) were elucidated.  相似文献

Interpreting the redox chemistry of sulphur in aqueous systems requires the analysis of mixtures of various sulphoxy anions. Previous methods have been too involved to permit high sample throughout if good quality control is to be maintained. Methods based on ion chromatography have been developed for the direct determination of SO(2-)(4), SO(2-)(3), S(2)O(2-)(3), and SCN(-). The determination of thiocyanate permits the indirect determination of polythionates by treatment with cyanide. Formate, acetate, F(-), Cl(-), CO(2-)(3), and PO(3-)(4), do not interfere, but NO(-)(2) and NO(-)(3) interfere with determination of SO(2-)(3),. The sample preservation treatment includes addition of formaldehyde, cation-exchange and cold storage, to retard oxidation of S(2)O(2-)(3), and SO(2-)(3), and inhibits the rearrangement of SO(2-)(3),/S(2)O(2-)(3),/S(n)O(2-)(6), mixtures caused by bimolecular nucleophilic displacement (S(N)2) reactions. Treated samples may be stored for up to 6 weeks with only minor loss of thiosulphate.  相似文献

Surface complex formation of K(+), NO(3)(-), SO(4)(2-), Ca(2+), F(-), Co(2+), and Cr(3+) ions was determined on the surface of silica gel. Experimental data obtained by acid-base titration of suspensions were interpreted in terms of the triple-layer model. The value of the deprotonation constant of surface OH could be determined precisely but the protonation constant was rather uncertain. The logarithms of ion pair formation constants for K(+), NO(3)(-), Ca(2+), and SO(4)(2-) adsorbed in the beta-plane are log K(ipM,X) approximately 0, therefore these species can be considered inert ions in the investigated pH range. F(-), Co(2+), and Cr(3+) ions were found to be strongly sorbed in the o-plane. In acidic medium and in the presence of chloride ions 2-[2-(4-methoxy-phenylamino)-vinyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium chloride forms complex with Cr(VI). The optimum conditions (pH, concentration of Cl- and the complex forming reagent) of the separation and extraction of Cr(VI) into toluene using this basic dye as a complexing reagent have been determined and the possible interferences of Ca, Mg, Na, K, Cr(III), Ni, Pb, Hg, Mn, Al, Cu have been studied. An electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometer (GFAAS) was used for the determination of Cr(VI). The detection limit of the method for Cr(VI) found to be 0.15 μg dm− 3 and RSD for spiked drinking water was better than 3%.  相似文献

A new reversed-phase liquid chromatograhy/electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry method was developed for the analysis of perchlorate in water. The improved separation of perchlorate from common anions along with sample dilution effectively reduced matrix effects, primarily ion suppression caused by common anions. The (18)O-enriched perchlorate used as an internal standard provided further compensation for potential changes associated with instrument sensitivity, retention time shifting, peak broadening, ion suppression, and other matrix effects. The mean recoveries and relative standard deviations were 92-107% and 2.5-9.5% for simulated water matrix spikes at 0.05-1.0 microg/L, and 80-106% and 3.8-13% for real water sample matrix spikes at 2.0 microg/L, respectively. The method detection limits were 0.007 microg/L for reagent water and 0.014 microg/L for the simulated water matrix that contained 100 mg/L of SO(4)(2-), CO(3)(2-), and Cl(-) anions; 2 mg/L of PO(4)(3-) as P and NO(3)(-) as N; and 0.1 mg/L of Br(-), BrO(3)(-), ClO(2)(-), ClO(3)(-), and F(-) anions in reagent water, respectively. When using cartridge pretreatment to remove problematic SO(4)(2-), CO(3)(2-), and Cl(-) anions, the minimum reporting level could be set to 0.05 microg/L or lower. With 10-fold dilution, the minimum reporting level was conservatively set to 0.5 microg/L.  相似文献

The speciation of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) has been performed by using activated neutral alumina as adsorbent. Both species were quantitatively adsorbed on a small column filled with neutral alumina. The adsorbed Cr(III) was eluted with 4 mol L(-1) HNO(3) and Cr(VI) with 1.0 mol L(-1) ammonia solution. Recoveries of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) were 99% and 100%, respectively. Using ET-AAS for Cr determination the limit of detection in the sample was 0.01 microg L(-1). The combined procedure is fast and sensitive. It can be applied for routine analysis of water samples at sub-microg L(-1) levels with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 2-10% (three determinations).  相似文献

Crystallization experiments are conducted for aerosol particles composed of aqueous mixtures of (NH(4))(2)SO(4)(aq) and NH(4)NO(3)(aq), (NH(4))(2)SO(4)(aq) and NH(4)HSO(4)(aq), and NH(4)NO(3)(aq) and NH(4)HSO(4)(aq). Depending on the aqueous composition, crystals of (NH(4))(2)SO(4)(s), (NH(4))(3)H(SO(4))(2)(s), NH(4)HSO(4)(s), NH(4)NO(3)(s), 2NH(4)NO(3) x (NH(4))(2)SO(4)(s), and 3NH(4)NO(3) x (NH(4))(2)SO(4)(s) are formed. Although particles of NH(4)NO(3)(aq) and NH(4)HSO(4)(aq) do not crystallize even at 1% relative humidity, additions of 0.05 mol fraction SO(4)(2-)(aq) or NO(3)(-)(aq) ions promote crystallization, respectively. 2NH(4)NO(3) x (NH(4))(2)SO(4)(s) and (NH(4))(3)H(SO(4))(2)(s) appear to serve as good heterogeneous nuclei for NH(4)NO(3)(s) and NH(4)HSO(4)(s), respectively. 2NH(4)NO(3) x (NH(4))(2)SO(4)(s) crystallizes over a greater range of aqueous compositions than 3NH(4)NO(3) x (NH(4))(2)SO(4)(s). An infrared aerosol spectrum is provided for each solid based upon a linear decomposition analysis of the recorded spectra. Small nonzero residuals occur in the analysis because aerosol spectra depend on particle morphology, which changes slightly across the range of compositions studied. In addition, several of the mixed compositions crystallize with residual aqueous water of up to 5% particle mass. We attribute this water content to enclosed water pockets. The results provide further insights into the nonlinear crystallization pathways of sulfate-nitrate-ammonium aerosol particles.  相似文献

An accurate and sensitive method based on the combination of pyrohydrolysis-ion chromatography (PH-IC) is proposed for the simultaneous separation and determination of boron as borate, chloride and fluoride in nuclear fuels such as U(3)O(8), (Pu,U)C and Pu-alloys. The determination is based on the initial pyrohydrolytic extraction of B, Cl and F from the samples as boric acid, HCl and HF, respectively, which are subsequently separated by ion chromatography (IC). The proposed method significantly improves the existing analytical methodology as it combines the determination of boron, a critical trace constituent in nuclear materials, along with F(-) and Cl(-) for chemical quality control measurements. Various experimental parameters were optimized to achieve maximum recoveries of the analytes during the pyrohydrolysis and to get better ion chromatographic (IC) separation of borate, F(-) and Cl(-) along with other anions such as CH(3)COO(-), NO(2)(-), NO(3)(-), Br(-), PO(4)(3-) and SO(4)(2-). Recoveries of more than 93% could be obtained for all the analytes in the sample (0.5-1.5 g) at 1200+/-25K and distilled with pre-heated steam at the flow rate of 0.3 mL/min. An isocratic elution with a mobile phase of 0.56 M d-mannitol in 6.5mM NaHCO(3) was used for the IC separation. The detection limits for B (as borate), F(-) and Cl(-) were 24, 13 and 25 microgL(-1), respectively. Precision of about 5% was achieved for determination of boron, Cl(-) and F(-) in the samples containing 1-5 ppm(w) of boron, and 10-25 ppm(w) of Cl and F. The method was validated with reference materials and successfully applied to the nuclear fuels. The methodology is easy to adapt on routine basis.  相似文献
