Abstract

Five new substitued hydroxamic acids are used for extraction and spectrophotometric determination of vanadium(V) in trace amounts. the binary complex of vanadium (V) with H-p-ciloropheny 1-3,4,5-trimethoxycinnamohdroxamic acid (PTCHA) and the mixed ligand complex of vanadium (V) with N-p-cinlorpheny-p-chlorophenoxyisobutyrohydroxamic acid (PP3HA) and thiocyanete were studied. The molar absorbtivities of the bluish violet vanadium(V) hydroxamate and mixed ligand complexes are 6.9 × 103 and 1.1 × 104 cm3 mol?3 cm?1, respectively. The vanadium is also determined with AAs and the method is applied for its determination in steel. alloy, rock and environmental samples.  相似文献

A new reagent system has been reported for the extractive separation and simultaneous spectrophotometric de termination of vanadium (V). The method is based on the formation of a water in soluble blue‐violet V(V) complex with N‐hydroxy‐N‐m‐tolyl‐N′‐phenylbenzamidine (HTPBA), and neutral surfactant Triton X‐100 into chloroform over an acidity range of 1.0–10.0 M acetic acid. The complex shows a broad absorption maximum at 570 nm, when measured against a chloroform blank. The λmax (570 nm) of the complex and that of re agent (313 nm) are well separated, hence the excess of the reagent does not interfere in the spectrophotometric de termination of the metal. The molar absorptivity (?) of the complex is (4.74) × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1. The linearity of the calibration curve is followed between 0.5–12.0 μg mL?1 with slope, intercept and correlation coefficient of 9.16× 10?2, 4.5 × 10?3 and 0.999, respectively. The detection limit of the method is 45 μgl?1. The proposed re agent system provides significantly higher tolerance limit for iron (500 μg mL?1) and also various metalions commonly associated with vanadium did not interfere. The method was applied for the deter mi nation of vanadium content of three samples i.e. Spirogyra, Puccinia and Riccia.  相似文献

Abstract

A microdetermination method at μg 1?1 levels for vanadium by solid-phase spectrophotometry has been developed. 5-Bromosalicylhydroxamic acid was used as chromogenic reagent to form a 1:2 violet complex which is easily sorbed and concentrated on a dextran-type anion-exchange resin. The resin-phase absorbances at 560 and 850 nm were measured directly. Vanadium can be determined in the 5 - 60 μg 1?1 range with a RSD of 4.3%. The method is applied to the determination of vanadium in pet roleiim crudes and natural water, samples.  相似文献

Abstract

Vanadium(V) reacts with N-m-Tolyl-p-methoxy benzohydroxamic acid to form 1:2 (metal to ligand) complex containing a basic V=O group and an acidic V-OH group, which forms addition compounds with thiocyanate to give a hyper and bathochromic effect in chloroform. On the basis of this bathochromic effect of thiocyanate a rapid, selective and sensitive method for the spectrophotometric determination of vanadium(V) has been developed. The blue coloured complex of vanadium(V) is extractable in chloroform having absorption maxima at 580nm and max 7100 ±50 1. mole?1 cm?1. The method is free from interferences of Mo(VI), W(VI), Zr(IV) and has been successfully applied for the analysis of steels and other complex materials.  相似文献

Abstract

A new, rapid, simple, selective and sensitive method for the spectrophotometric determination of sulphathiazole is described. The drug forms a yellow coloured complex with Pd(II) in alkaline medium (1 M NaOH). The drug complex exhibits maximum absorbance at 410 nm, with a molar absorptivity of 1.9 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1. Effects of molarity of NaOH, reagent concentration on the proper complex formation are discussed. The system obeys Beer's law in the concentration range of 10-160 ppm of sulphathiazole.  相似文献

A new and simple extraction spectrophotometric method for the determination of vanadium(V) with KIO4, N‐phenylbenzohydroxamic acid (PBHA) and crystal violet (CV), in industrial waste water samples is described. It is based on the extraction of mixed‐ligand complex V(V)‐IO4? ‐PBHA‐CV+ into chloroform solution over 2‐7 MHC1. The molar absorptivity of the complex is (7.20) × 1031 mol?1 cm?1 at λmax 535 nm. The detection limit of the method is 44 μg 1?1 V. The linearity of the calibration curve is followed up to 6 μgmL?1 in the organic solution with slope, intercept and correlation coefficient of 1.34 × 10?1, 6.7 × 10?3 and +0.99, respectively. This method enhances the sensitivity of the conventional PBHA method for the determination of vanadium, and is free from interferences of other metal ions commonly associated with vanadium. The method has been successfully tested for the determination of V in the industrial waste water samples.  相似文献

Abstract

A new spectrophotometric method is described for the determination of thallium in soil by extraction of Tl(III) with a toluene solution of N,N′-diphenylbenzamidine after acidification with 0.2–4.0 M HCl, and reaction of the extract with Crystal violet in the presence of 0.01–0.8 M HCl. The value of molar absorptivity of Tl(III)-X-CV complex (where X = Cl or Br; CV = Crystal violet) in toluene is 7.00 × 104 1 mole?1 cm?1 at the absorption maximum of 610 nm. The detection limit of the method is 20 ng ml?1. The present method is free from interference of almost metal ions commonly associated with Tl. The method has been applied for analysis of the metal to soils.  相似文献

Abstract

The synthesis, spectral characteristics and analytical applications of anisaldehyde-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazone (APT) are described. A simple, rapid, selective and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of platinum was developed based on the colour reaction between platinum (IV) and anisaldehyde-4-phenyl-3-thio-semicarbazone (APT) in the pH range 1.7 - 3.0. The yellow coloured species has an absorption maximum at 360 nm. The complexation is complete within 1 min. A five-fold excess of the reagent is required for complete complex formation. Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration range 0.1 -20 ppm of Pt(IV). The mtilar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity are 1.58 × 104 l. mol?1 cm?1 and 0.0123 ug of Pt(IV) cm?2, respectively. The effects of pH, time concentration of reagent, order of addition of reagents and the interference from various ions were investigated. The method has been employed for the determination of platinum in synthetic mixtures whose composition correspond to some alloys.  相似文献

Abstract

A new spectrophotometric method for vanadium determination is proposed. The method is based on the extraction in Adogen-toluene solution of the complex formed between V(V) and o-Aminobenzohydraxámic acid

The method allows determination of 50 to 110 μg of V(V). The error and the apparent molar absorptivity are 1.2% and 5.2 ± 103 l.mol?1. cm?1 respectively. The interferences caused by foreign ions have been established. The method is applied with success to determination of vanadium in petroleum crudes.  相似文献

Abstract

A spectrophotometric study of the Pd(II) complex of a reagent 2-(5-Bromo-2-Pyridylazo)-5-(diethylamino)-Phenol (5-Br-PADAP) is presented. A violet complex is formed at pH 3.53, and shows maximal absorbance at 585 nm with molar absorptivity of 3.86 × 104 1. mol?1 cm?1. Beer's law is obeyed up to 50 μ of Pd(II). The method offers the advantages of simplicity, high precision, requires no extraction and is very selective, where 5.0 mg Pt(VI) and 0.3 mg Au(III) ions do not interfere.  相似文献

Abstract

A comparison has been made on the selectivity, accuracy and precision of spectrophotometric, conductometric and potentiometric methods for the determination of ascorbic acid in water which is based on the reduction of gold(III) ion by ascorbic acid. Gold(III) ion forms a complex with gelatin in alkaline medium which on reduction with ascorbic acid produces coloured gold sol. The sol shows an absorption maximum at 540 nm with molar absorptivity of 2.3×10?3litre mol?1 cm?1 and the Sandell's sensitivity of 7.6 × 10?2 μgcm?2. The relative standard deviation is 0.22% and the confidence limit (20 determinations, 95%) is 2.0 ± 0.009%. To examine the extent of sensitivity of the spectrophotometric method the proposed method is compared with the sensitivities of the conductometric and potentiometric methods.  相似文献

Abstract

A sensitive and selective spectrophotometric flow injection analysis (FIA) method with chlorophosphonazo-mN has been developed for the determination of uranium(VI) in standard ore samples. Most of interfering ions are effectively eliminated by the masking reagent of diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA). In the U(VI)-chlorophosphonazo-mN system, the maximum absorption wavelength is at 680 nm and Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 1 to 15 μg ml?1. The correlation coefficient of the calibration curve is 0.9998, the sampling frenquency is 60 h?1, and the detection limit for uranium(VI) is 0.5 μg ml?1. The composition of the U(VI)-chlorophosphonazo-nN complex was established to be 1:2 by flow-through spectrophotometric and conventional molar ratios methods.  相似文献

The method is based on the formation of a brown-coloured complex by heating the reaction mixture containing Os(VIII), pyrocatechol and a hydroxyamidine at pH 8.5 over a boiling water bath, with subsequent extraction of the coloured species into chloroform. The molar absorptivity of the coloured species with N-hydroxy-N,N′-diphenylbenzamidine is 3.95 × 106 1 mol?1 cm?1 at λmax = 410 nm. The method is free from interferences for almost all ions tested.  相似文献

Abstract

A new sensitive and seleactive method for rapid and accurated determination of nitrofarazone is described. The nitrofurazone is reacted with hydroxyl-amine hydrochloride in alkaline medium to give hydroxamic acid which forms the purple violet coloured complex with iron (III), FeCl3, in acidic medium. The nitrofurazone was determined in presence of commonly used drugs and additives. The results obtained by the proposed and B.P. methods were compared.  相似文献
