Porphine bearing triphenylamine (TPA) pendant groups and their zinc complexes, zinc meso-tetra-p-(di-p-phenylamino)phenylporphyrin (ZnTDPAPP) and zinc meso-tetra-p-(di-p-tolylamino)phenylporphyrin (ZnTDTAPP) are synthesized and their spectral and electrochemical characteristics are studied. Zinc meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (ZnTPP) and zinc meso-tetra-p-aminophenylporphyrin (ZnTAPP) are also used as reference complexes. The B and Q bands of ZnTDPAPP and ZnTDTAPP are located at higher wavelengths and the bandwidths become broader compared with those of ZnTPP and ZnTAPP, indicating the peripheral TPA affects the electronic configuration of zinc porphyrins. Upon excitation in CH2Cl2 at room temperature, the compounds exhibit intramolecular singlet energy transfer from the TPA to the porphyrin core, and emission from the porphyrins are observed. Both ZnTDPAPP and ZnTDTAPP are easier to be oxidized and harder to be reduced than ZnTPP, in agreement with the strong electron-donating effect of the TPA groups. Extra waves corresponding to the oxidation of TPA substituents are also observed. The cation radical ZnTDTAPP+* exhibits an absorption spectrum very different from the typical spectra for porphyrin cation radicals. The NIR absorption band at 1296 nm indicates the electron transfer occurs intramolecularly. The above results evince the ability of TPA to modulate the electronic structure of zinc porphyrins.  相似文献

The electrochemical properties of protoporphyrin IX zinc(II) (ZnPP) films on indium-tin oxide (ITO) substrate have been studied for three types of films with different arrangements, which were an adsorbed film of ZnPP and LB films of ZnPP and its hybrid with hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurement showed that, as the adsorbed amount of ZnPP increases, an irreversible oxidation peak of ZnPP film is intensified. This reveals that electrochemical properties depend on the adsorbed amount rather than the orientation of porphyrin molecules. It was also supported from CV measurement and ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy that porphyrins adsorbed on ITO substrate were desorbed after the single scan of potential. Additionally, photoresponse of these ZnPP films was investigated by photocurrent measurement. The photocurrent generation is due to carboxylic acid moieties but not ZnPP macrocycles.  相似文献

The influence of the thiophene ring on the ground and excited state properties of the porphyrin ring is investigated, when substituted at the meso-position. A series of mono-, di-, tri-, and tetra- meso-thien-2-yl porphyrins are studied and discussed with respect to the reference compounds zinc(II)-5,10,15,20-tetra(thien-2'-yl)porphyrin ( 1a) and zinc(II)-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin (ZnTPP). The extended conjugated system zinc(II)-5-(5'-(5'-ethynyl-2'-thiophenecarboxaldehyde)thien-2'-yl)-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin ( 4d) is also studied and shows enhanced charge transfer character due to the presence of the terminal aldehyde accepting group. A detailed analysis of ground and excited state UV-vis absorption, steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence, laser flash photolysis, and electrochemical data all point toward substantial electronic communication between the central Zn(II) porphyrin ring and the meso-thien-2-yl substituents, which is evident from excited state charge transfer character.  相似文献

Microcalorimetric titration was used to obtain a full set of thermodynamic characteristics of the axial coordination of pyridine by metal complexes of synthetic (ZnTPP, NiTPP, CuTPP, (Cl)FeTPP, (Ac)FeTPP, (Cl)MnTPP, (Ac)MnTPP) and biological (ZnHP, ZnDP, ZnMP, ZnPP) porphyrins in benzene and chloroform at 298.15 K. It was established that the involved character of the processes under study is determined both by the structure of the metalloporphyrins and by the specific features of the solvation interactions of metalloporphyrin and pyridine with solvent molecules.  相似文献

Two or eight zinc triphenyl porphyrins were conjugated with Zn-phthalocyanine or H2-phthalocyanine to form ZnPc-(ZnTPP)2, ZnPc-(ZnTPP)8, H2Pc-(ZnTPP)2 and H2Pc-(ZnTPP)8. Energy transfers from the porphyrin moiety to phthalocyanine part were quantitatively studied with the modality of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). By measuring the fluorescence increment from the phthalocyanine moiety and the decrease from porphyrin part under selective excitation at the B band of the porphyrin part in those conjugated compounds and their equimolar mixture of compositions, energy transfer efficiencies were estimated to be 90% for H2Pc-(ZnTPP)8 and ZnPc-(ZnTPP)8, and 60%, 30% for ZnPc-(ZnTPP)2 and H2Pc-(ZnTPP)2, respectively.  相似文献

Spectroscopic property of a commercially available luminescent reagent Zinc(II) protoporphyrin (ZnPP) was studied. Dissociation constants of the two protons on the peripheral groups of porphyrin ring of ZnPP were determined as pK(a1)=6.31, pK(a2)=9.37. Binding evidence of ZnPP with ctDNA was found by the phosphorescence intensity change on a filter paper around pH 6.5-9.3 with the association constant being 9.1x10(3) dm(3)/mol. A novel binding mode for ZnPP and calf thymus DNA (ctDNA) suggested that the monomer ZnPP which has no axial coordination, slips into the groove of DNA and interacts with the bases of polynucleotide by zinc coordination and hydrogen bonding between H atom on carboxyl group of ZnPP and O atom on the bases.

Zinc bis-porphyrin molecular tweezers composed of a N(4) spacer bound through pyridyl units to the meso position of porphyrins were synthesized, and the tweezers are closed by the coordination of a copper(II) ion inside the spacer ligand. The effect of the π-π interaction between the porphyrin rings in the closed conformation on the absorption spectra of multi-electron oxidized species and the reduction potentials were clarified by chemical and electrochemical oxidation of the closed form of the zinc bis-porphyrin molecular tweezers in comparison with the open form without copper(II) ion and the corresponding porphyrin monomer. The shifts in redox potentials and absorption spectrum of the porphyrin dication indicate a strong electronic interaction between the two oxidized porphyrins in the closed form, whereas there is little interaction between them in the neutral form. The dynamics of copper(II) ion coordination and subsequent electron transfer was examined by using a stopped-flow UV/Vis spectroscopic technique. It was confirmed that coordination of copper(II) occurs prior to electron-transfer oxidation of the closed form of the zinc bis-porphyrin molecular tweezers.  相似文献

In this paper, we reveal that the free-base and zinc strapped porphyrins possessing long alkyl chains, C 24OPP-HQ and Zn(C 24OPP-HQ), respectively, can be arranged on surfaces. We used scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) to observe alkyl-chain-assisted self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of these strapped porphyrins at the solid-liquid interface. STM images revealed that the strapped benzene moiety was detectable on the porphyrin core: that is, the strapped porphyrins could be differentiated from nonstrapped analogues. We compared the population of the nonstrapped porphyrin (C 24OPP) and either of the strapped porphyrins C 24OPP-HQ or Zn(C 24OPP-HQ) in the mixed SAMs. We then confirmed that Zn(C 24OPP-HQ) is more favorably incorporated in the mixed SAMs than C 24OPP-HQ. From (1)H NMR spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic analyses, we concluded that the factors increasing the population of Zn(C 24OPP-HQ) in the mixed SAMs are the enhanced rigidity of the porphyrin core by the zinc coordination and the flat structure of the porphyrin moiety in the saddle conformation. This study demonstrates that strapped porphyrins possessing long alkyl chains are available to arrange the functional modules on the surface via chemical modification on the strapped moiety.  相似文献

Abstract

Methoxy-isoporphyrins of zinc [5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)]porphyrin, ZnTSPP (1a) and zinc [5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)]porphyrin, ZnTCPP (1b) have been synthesized and characterized using standard spectroscopic techniques (Uv-visible, 1H NMR) , ESI-mass spectrometry and powder X-ray diffraction studies. The isoporphyrins [5-(methoxy)-5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)-5H,15H-porphinato]zinc(II) (2a) and [5-(methoxy)-5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)-5H,21H-porphinato]zinc(II) (2b) are formed due to nucleophilic attack of the methanol to the zinc porphyrin dication. Ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) was used to oxidize zinc porphyrin and to form zinc porphyrin dication. The electronic spectra of the isoporphyrin complexes 2a and 2b exhibit an intense peak at near IR region . Electrochemical measurements of the synthesized isoporphyrins showed a typical irreversible reduction peak at lower potential. S-containing nucleophiles, which work as reducing agents, convert the zinc isoporphyrins to their parent porphyrins, which supports the electrochemical observations. Their structural properties have been studied using powder X-ray diffraction. The luminescence properties of isoporphyrins were compared with the parent zinc porphyrins.  相似文献

Tetrakis(alloxycarbonyl)porphyrin and its β-octafluoro-substituted derivatives were synthesized via Lindsey method and transformed to their zinc complexes.Single crystal X-ray structures of corresponding Zn(Ⅱ) porphyrins revealed that β-octafluorination will give more compactness of porphyrin moieties in the crystal structure owing to the hydrogen bonding interactions involving β-fluorine atoms. An unusual six-coordinated Zn(Ⅱ) was found via intramolecular coordination of oxygen atom of meso-substituents with central Zn(Ⅱ).  相似文献

Donor-acceptor dyads were constructed using zinc N-confused porphyrin (ZnNCP), a structural isomer of zinc tetraphenylporphyrin, as a donor, and fullerene as an electron acceptor. Two derivatives, pyridine-coordinated zinc N-confused porphyrin (Py:ZnNCP) and the zinc N-confused porphyrin dimer (ZnNCP-dimer) were utilized to form the dyads with an imidazole-appended fulleropyrrolidine (C60Im). These porphyrin isomers formed well-defined 1:1 supramolecular dyads (C60Im:ZnNCP) via axial coordination. The dyads were characterized by optical absorption and emission, ESI-mass, 1H NMR, and electrochemical methods. The binding constant, K, was found to be 2.8 x 10(4) M(-1) for C60Im:ZnNCP. The geometric and electronic structure of C60Im:ZnNCP were probed by using DFT B3LYP/3-21G methods. The HOMO was found to be on the ZnNCP entity, while the LUMO was primarily on the fullerene entity. The electrochemical properties of C60Im:ZnNCP was probed using cyclic voltammetry in o-dichlorobenzene, 0.1 n-Bu4NClO4. The Py:ZnNCP was found to be easier to oxidize by over 340 mV compared to Py:ZnTPP. Upon dyad formation via axial coordination, the first oxidation revealed an anodic shift of nearly 90 mV. Evidence of photoinduced charge separation from the singlet excited ZnNCP to the appended fullerene was established from time-resolved emission and nanosecond transient absorption studies.  相似文献

Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is a promising candidate for electronic and optoelectronic applications. However, its application in light harvesting has been limited in part due to crystal defects, often related to small crystallite sizes, which diminish charge separation and transfer. Here we demonstrate a surface‐engineering strategy for 2D MoS2 to improve its photoelectrochemical properties. Chemically exfoliated large‐area MoS2 thin films were interfaced with eight molecules from three porphyrin families: zinc(II)‐, gallium(III)‐, iron(III)‐centered, and metal‐free protoporphyrin IX (ZnPP, GaPP, FePP, H2PP); metal‐free and zinc(II) tetra‐(N‐methyl‐4‐pyridyl)porphyrin (H2T4, ZnT4); and metal‐free and zinc(II) tetraphenylporphyrin (H2TPP, ZnTPP). We found that the photocurrents from MoS2 films under visible‐light illumination are strongly dependent on the interfacial molecules and that the photocurrent enhancement is closely correlated with the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) levels of the porphyrins, which suppress the recombination of electron–hole pairs in the photoexcited MoS2 films. A maximum tenfold increase was observed for MoS2 functionalized with ZnPP compared with pristine MoS2 films, whereas ZnT4‐functionalized MoS2 demonstrated small increases in photocurrent. The application of bias voltage on MoS2 films can further promote photocurrent enhancements and control current directions. Our results suggest a facile route to render 2D MoS2 films useful for potential high‐performance light‐harvesting applications.  相似文献

Two multi‐walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)‐based nanohybrids, MWCNT–ZnTPP and MWCNT–TPP (TPP=5‐[4‐{2‐(4‐formylphenoxy)‐ ethyloxy}phenyl]‐10,15,20‐triphenylporphyrin, ZnTPP=5‐[4‐{(4‐formylphenyl)ethynyl}phenyl]‐10,15,20‐triphenylporphinatozinc(II)), were prepared directly from pristine MWCNTs through 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition reactions. Covalent attachment of the porphyrins to the surfaces of the MWCNTs was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet/visible absorption, fluorescence, Raman, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, elemental analysis, transmission electron microscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. Attachment of the porphyrin moieties to the surface of the MWCNTs significantly improves the solubility and ease of processing of these MWCNT–porphyrin composite materials. Z‐scan studies reveal that these MWCNT–porphyrin nanohybrids exhibit enhanced nonlinear optical properties under both nanosecond and picosecond laser pulses at λ=532 nm in comparison with free MWCNTs and the free porphyrin chromophores, whereas superior optical limiting performance was displayed by MWCNT–porphyrin composite materials rather than MWCNTs/ZnTPP and MWCNTs/TPP blends, which is consistent with a remarkable accumulation effect as a result of the covalent linkage between the porphyrin and the MWCNTs.  相似文献

The interaction between porphyrins namely, meso-tetrakis (4-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin (TMeOPP), protoporphyrin IX (PPIX) and Zinc(II) meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (ZnTPP) with colloidal CdS has been studied by using steady state and time resolved fluorescence quenching measurements. The porphyrins adsorbed on the surface of colloidal CdS due to electrostatic interaction. This adsorption leads to changes in the absorption spectra related to the complex formation. The apparent association constant (Kapp) was in the order of 4.34-5.58 x 10(5) M(-1) from the effect of colloidal CdS on the absorption spectra and 0.64-1.6 x 10(5) M(-1) from fluorescence quenching data. Quenching is attributable mainly to static mechanism through ground state complex formation as confirmed by lifetime measurements.

Sonogashira coupling of zinc 5,10,15,20-tetraethynylporphyrin with various phenyl iodides under mild conditions afforded good yields of the corresponding zinc porphyrins. This method is applicable to a variety of aryl iodides including meso-substituted iodoporphyrin to form a conjugated star-shaped multiporphyrin. The UV-Vis spectra show that peak broadening, red shifts, and changes in the oscillator strength of absorptions increase with the extension of pi-conjugation. In the electrochemical measurements, the first oxidation of porphyrins 4-9 occurs at potentials in the range +0.89 to +1.08 V, which are comparable to that of ZnTPP (TPP = tetraphenylporphyrin). The first reduction was observed at potentials from -0.73 to -0.89 V, which is anodically shifted by 390-550 mV as compared to that of ZnTPP, and the second reduction occurs at potentials in the range -1.12 to -1.33 V. The para-substituted tetrakis(phenylethynyl)porphyrins show substituent effects on their redox chemistry and exhibit only slight substituent effects in their emission and absorption maxima.  相似文献

The effects of ruffling on the axial ligation properties of a series of nickel(II) tetra(alkyl)porphyrins have been investigated with UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, resonance Raman spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, classical molecular mechanics calculations, and normal-coordinate structural decomposition analysis. For the modestly nonplanar porphyrins, porphyrin ruffling is found to cause a decrease in binding affinity for pyrrolidine and piperidine, mainly caused by a decrease in the binding constant for addition of the first axial ligand; ligand binding is completely inhibited for the more nonplanar porphyrins. The lowered affinity, resulting from the large energies required to expand the core and flatten the porphyrin to accommodate the large high-spin nickel(II) ion, has implications for nickel porphyrin-based molecular devices and the function of heme proteins and methyl-coenzyme M reductase.  相似文献

[structure: see text]. An X-ray crystallographic study of zinc(II) 5,15-di-(2-methoxymethylphenyl)-porphyrin indicates that it forms a coordination polymer through ligation of the ether oxygen atoms on the porphyrin peripheries to the metal centers of two identical adjacent porphyrins. This gives a novel extensively linked, three-dimensional polymeric structure in which the zinc(II) metal forms a six-coordination center. The uniquely structured network has cavities between 4.81 and 9.27 angstroms, which makes it resemble molecular sieve materials.  相似文献

Oxidation of a directly meso-meso linked cyclic porphyrin tetramer 2 gave a porphyrin sheet 3. The symmetric square structure of 3 is indicated by its simple 1H NMR spectrum that exhibits only two signals for the porphyrin beta-protons. The absorption spectrum of 3 displays characteristic Soret-like broad bands and weak Q-bands, and its magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectrum exhibits a negative Faraday A term at the 762 nm band as a rare case, indicating the absorption as a transition from a nondegenerate level to a degenerate level. A slightly longer S1-state (1.1 ps) and smaller TPA cross section (2750 GM) than a tetrameric linear porphyrin tape also indicate its unique electronic properties. The porphyrin sheet 3 forms stable 1:2 complexes with guest molecules G1 and G2, whose 1H NMR spectra exhibit remarkable downfield shifts for the guest protons that are located just above the cyclooctatetraene (COT) core of 3, whereas the imidazolyl protons bound to the zinc(II) porphyrin local cores are observed at slightly upfield positions. These results have been qualitatively accounted for in terms of the presence of a strong paratropic ring current around the COT core that propagates through the whole pi-electronic network of 3, hence competing with and cancelling the weak diatropic ring currents of the local zinc(II) porphyrins. This explanation was supported by DFT calculation performed at the GIAO-B3LYP/6-31G level, which indicated large positive NICS values within the COT core and small NICS values within the local zinc(II) porphyrins.  相似文献
