Since the discovery of graphene in the early 2000′s, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have been resurrected and new synthetic tools have been developed to prepare unprecedented structures with unique properties. One application that has been overlooked for this class of molecules is organic solar cells (OSCs). In this account, we present the recent development in the preparation of moderate to low band gap PAHs that could potentially be used as semiconducting materials in OSCs. Our focus is directed toward all‐carbon PAHs as well as their polymeric analogs.  相似文献

A green biocomposite of sunflower stalks and graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets has been applied as a solid‐phase extraction adsorbent for sample preparation of five polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in different solutions using high‐performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection. Before the modification, sunflower stalks exhibited relatively low adsorption to the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons extraction. The modified sunflower stalks showed increased adsorption to the analytes extraction due to the increase in surface and existence of a π–π interaction between the analytes and graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets on the surface. Under the optimal conditions, the limits of detection and quantification for five polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons compounds could reach 0.4–32 and 1.2–95 ng/L, respectively. The method accuracy was evaluated using recovery measurements in spiked real samples and good recoveries from 71 to 115% with relative standard deviations of <10% have been achieved. The developed method was successfully applied for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons determination in various samples—well water, tap water, soil, vegetable, and barbequed meat (kebab)—with analytes contents ranging from 0.065 to 13.3 μg/L. The prepared green composite as a new sorbent has some advantages including ease of preparation, low cost, and good reusability.  相似文献

Summary A novel inorganic synthetic clay material (SC) has been evaluated as the stationary phase in packed-column, supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC). The molecular recognition capability of the SC stationary phase in SFC for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons has been evaluated using carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide modified with methanol as the mobile phase. This recognition derives from the layer structure of the SC material which acts as a slit to distinguish non-planar solutes from the molecular-molecular interaction between solute and stationary phase and leads to smaller retention for non-planar solutes. The recognition capability is also dependent on the SFC conditions such as column pressure and column temperature.  相似文献

To enhance the extraction performance, a mesoporous silica was modified with ordered mesoporous carbon for solid‐phase microextraction. Three stainless‐steel wires coated with the mesoporous material were placed in a polyetheretherketone tube for getting an extraction tube. The tube was coupled to high‐performance liquid chromatography with diode array detector, and the online analysis system was constructed. Then its extraction performance was evaluated using hydrophobic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, phthalates, and hydrophilic neonicotinoids. The best selectivity was presented for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Several main conditions were optimized such as sampling volume, sampling rate, methanol concentration in the sample, and desorption time, a rapid and sensitive analytical method was established toward polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The analytical method exhibited wide linear range from 0.017 to 15 µg/L with acceptable correlation coefficients more than 0.9990, limits of detection in 0.005‐0.020 µg/L, limits of quantification ranging from 0.017 to 0.066 µg/L as well as large enrichment factors of 377‐2314. It was successfully applied to detect trace polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in some real water samples including tap water, snow water, and domestic sewage.  相似文献

Introduction of heptagons into hexagonal carbon lattices can generate negatively curved polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which are of significant interest in the field of exotic molecular nanocarbons. We have successfully synthesized and characterized corannulene‐based π‐systems containing heptagons ( 4 and 5 ) as new negatively curved polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons as well as possible intermediates in the synthesis of warped nanographene 1 . The formation of 4 and 5 represents the first example for which a heptagon is formed under Scholl reaction conditions before all hexagons are formed. Even more interestingly, we discovered that the mode and degree of solid‐phase intermolecular π–π interaction can be altered significantly by the degree of ring closure.  相似文献

An adsorbent of carbon dot@poly(glycidyl methacrylate)@Fe3O4 nanoparticles has been developed for the microwave‐assisted magnetic solid‐phase extraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in environmental aqueous samples prior to high‐performance liquid chromatography with UV/visible spectroscopy detection. Poly(glycidyl methacrylate) was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization. The chain length and amount of carbon dots attached on them can be easily controlled through changing polymerization conditions, which contributes to tunable extraction performance. The successful fabrication of the nano‐adsorbent was confirmed by transmission electronic microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnetometry. The extraction performance of the adsorbent was evaluated by using polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons as model analytes. The key factors influencing the extraction, such as microwave power, adsorption time, desorption time and desorption solvents were investigated in detail. Under the optimal conditions, the microwave‐assisted method afforded magnetic solid‐phase extraction with short extraction time, wide dynamic linear range (0.02–200 μg/L), good linearity (R2 ≥ 98.57%) and low detection limits (20–90 ng/L) for model analytes. The adsorbent was successfully applied for analyzing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in environmental aqueous samples and the recoveries were in the range of 86.0–124.2%. Thus, the proposed method is a promising candidate for fast and reliable preconcentration of trace polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in real water samples.  相似文献

A novel adsorbent made of polydopamine‐functionalized magnetic graphene and carbon nanotubes hybrid nanocomposite was synthesized and applied to determine 16 priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by magnetic solid phase extraction in water samples. FTIR spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy consistently indicate that the synthesized adsorbents are made of core–shell nanoparticles well dispersed on the surface of graphene and carbon nanotubes. The major factors affecting the extraction efficiency, including the pH value of samples, the amount of adsorbent, adsorption time and desorption time, type and volume of desorption solvent, were systematically optimized. Under the optimum extraction conditions, a linear response was obtained for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons between concentrations of 10 and 500 ng/L with the correlation coefficients ranging from 0.9958 to 0.9989, and the limits of detection (S/N = 3) were between 0.1 and 3.0 ng/L. Satisfactory results were also obtained when applying these magnetic graphene/carbon nanotubes/polydopamine hybrid nanocomposites to detect polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in several environmental aqueous samples.  相似文献

A hierarchical porouscomposite magnetic sorbent was fabricated and applied to the dispersive solvent-assisted solid-phase extraction of five polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. A sorbent was first prepared by incorporating graphene oxide, calcium carbonate, and magnetite nanoparticles into a polyvinyl alcohol cryogel. The graphene oxide was converted to reduced graphene oxide using ascorbic acid and a hierarchical porous structure was produced by reacting hydrochloric acid with incorporated calcium carbonate to generate carbon dioxide bubbles which created a second network. Before extracting the target analytes, the extraction solvent was introduced into the hierarchical pore network of the sorbent. The extraction was based on the partition between the analytes and introduced extraction solvent and the adsorption of analytes on reduced graphene oxide. The extraction efficiency was enhanced through π-π and hydrophobic interactions between polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and reduced graphene oxide and extraction solvent. The extracted polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were determined by using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with a fluorescence detector. The developed method was applied to extract polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in disposable diaper, coffee, and tea samples and recoveries from 84.5 to 99.4% were achieved with relative standard deviations below 7%. The developed sorbent exhibited good reproducibility and could be reused for 10 cycles. The developed sorbent exhibited good reproducibility and could be reused for 10 cycles. The developed sorbent exhibited good reproducibility and could be reused for 10 cycles.  相似文献

Given the potential risks of chlorinated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, the analysis of their presence in water is very urgent. We have developed a novel procedure for determining chlorinated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in water based on solid‐phase extraction coupled with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. The extraction parameters of solid‐phase extraction were optimized in detail. Under the optimal conditions, the proposed method showed wide linear ranges (1.0–1000 ng/L) with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.9952 to 0.9998. The limits of detection and the limits of quantification were in the range of 0.015–0.591 and 0.045–1.502 ng/L, respectively. Recoveries ranged from 82.5 to 102.6% with relative standard deviations below 9.2%. The obtained method was applied successfully to the determination of chlorinated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in real water samples. Most of the chlorinated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were detected and 1‐monochloropyrene was predominant in the studied water samples. This is the first report of chlorinated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in water samples in China. The toxic equivalency quotients of chlorinated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the studied tap water were 9.95 ng the toxic equivalency quotient m?3. 9,10‐Dichloroanthracene and 1‐monochloropyrene accounted for the majority of the total toxic equivalency quotients of chlorinated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in tap water.  相似文献

Summary The dependence of the capacity factor of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on column temperature and on the density of the mobile phase in supercritical-fluid chromatography was investigated using carbon dioxide as the mobile phase. Logarithmic capacity factors of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were obtained as a linear function of the reciprocal column temperature at a constant molar volume of carbon dioxide. The application of the Retention Prediction System to supercritical-fluid chromatography is demonstrated: one can predict the retention of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons using equations including column temperature, density and the physico-chemical properties of the solutes as the parameters.  相似文献

A new fast and effective analysis method has been developed to simultaneously determine 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in reclaimed water samples by ultra‐performance convergence chromatography with photodiode array detection and solid‐phase extraction. The parameters of ultra‐performance convergence chromatography on the separation behaviors and the crucial condition of solid‐phase extraction were investigated systematically. Under optimal conditions, the 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons could be separated within 4 min. The limits of detection and quantification were in the range of 0.4–4 and 1–10 μg/L in water, respectively. This approach has been applied to a real industrial wastewater treatment plant successfully. The results showed that polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were dramatically decreased after chemical treatment procedure, and the oxidation procedure was effective to remove trace polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.  相似文献

Hydroxyl polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are considered active mutagenic and carcinogenic substances and are found in extremely low levels (ng/g) in biological samples. As a result, their determination in urine and blood samples is challenging, and a sensitive and effective method for the analysis of trace hydroxyl polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in complex biological matrices is required. In this work, a novel macroporous in-tube solid-phase microextraction monolith was prepared via a thiol-yne click reaction, and a highly efficient analytical method based on in-tube solid-phase microextraction coupled with UHPLC-MS/MS was developed to determine hydroxyl polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with low detection limits of 0.137–11.0 ng/L in complex biological samples. Four hydroxyl polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, namely, 2-hydroxyanthraquinone, 1-hydroxypyrene, 1,8-dihydroxyanthraquinone, and 6-hydroxychrysene, were determined in the urine samples of smokers, non-smokers, and whole blood samples of mice. Satisfactory recoveries were achieved in the range of 83.1–113% with relative standard deviations of 3.2–9.7%. It was found that implementation of the macroporous monolith gave a highly efficient approach for enriching trace hydroxyl polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in biological samples.  相似文献

A novel design of hollow‐fiber liquid‐phase microextraction containing multiwalled carbon nanotubes as a solid sorbent, which is immobilized in the pore and lumen of hollow fiber by the sol–gel technique, was developed for the pre‐concentration and determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in environmental water samples. The proposed method utilized both solid‐ and liquid‐phase microextraction media. Parameters that affect the extraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were optimized in two successive steps as follows. Firstly, a methodology based on a quarter factorial design was used to choose the significant variables. Then, these significant factors were optimized utilizing central composite design. Under the optimized condition (extraction time = 25 min, amount of multiwalled carbon nanotubes = 78 mg, sample volume = 8 mL, and desorption time = 5 min), the calibration curves showed high linearity (R 2 = 0.99) in the range of 0.01–500 ng/mL and the limits of detection were in the range of 0.007–1.47 ng/mL. The obtained extraction recoveries for 10 ng/mL of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons standard solution were in the range of 85–92%. Replicating the experiment under these conditions five times gave relative standard deviations lower than 6%. Finally, the method was successfully applied for pre‐concentration and determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in environmental water samples.  相似文献

In this work, the perfluorobenzene-bonded silica sorbent was tested to adsorb polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in hexane. In the comparison experiments, the perfluorobenzene-bonded sorbent's performance was better than octadecyl silica sorbent and phenyl-bonded silica sorbents, which indicated that the π-hole···π bonds between perfluorobenzene and the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were stronger than π···π interactions and hydrophobic interactions in hexane. Then the perfluorobenzene-bonded silica sorbent was applied to solid-phase extraction of 15 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from the hexane extracts of soil samples directly without the solvent replacement, which simplified the soil pretreatment process. And the results showed that under the optimal conditions, the proposed method for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the environment soil presented good recoveries and stabilities for the 10 heavier polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with the recoveries ranging from 75.1% to 104.6% and the relative standard deviations being in the range of 1.4%–5.8%. The limits of detection of the method varied from 0.1 to 2 ng/g. This work reveals the great application potential of the π-hole bond as a new retention mechanism in the field of solid-phase extraction.  相似文献

A mesoporous silica was functionalized by carbon nanotubes to enhance the extraction performance. The mesoporous material was coated on stainless steel wires, and three wires were inserted inside of a polyetheretherketone tube for in‐tube solid‐phase microextraction. The tube was coupled to high‐performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection to obtain online analytical system, then its extraction performance was evaluated using eight polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons as the targets. In order to good sensitivity and accuracy, four conditions were optimized such as sampling volume, sampling rate, methanol content in the sample, and desorption time. Under the optimum conditions, an online analytical method was established and exhibited low limits of detection from 0.005 to 0.050 µg/L, wide linear range of 0.016‐20.00 µg/L with acceptable correlation coefficients in 0.9921‐0.9999, as well as large enrichment factors in the range of 311‐2412. The method was successfully applied to determine trace polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in some real water samples including, two kinds of bottled water, tap water, and river water, a few polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were detected but none quantified in these samples.  相似文献

A method for analysis of 13 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in charcoal-grilled pork was established by high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection. The cleanup and preconcentration steps include ultrasonic extraction, saponification, liquid-liquid extraction, and solid-phase extraction. Under the optimization experimental conditions, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons would be determined at trace level with recoveries between 68.5% and 102.8%. Additionally, the influence of grilling time on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons content was investigated. It was testified that when the roasting time reached 4 minutes under the experimental conditions, the content of carcinogen benzo(a)pyrene had exceeded the limit of the European Union.  相似文献

This article introduces a simple, rapid, and reliable solid‐phase microextraction (SPME) method coupled with GC‐MS for the quantitative determination of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in water. In this study, the Taguchi experimental design was used to optimize extraction conditions of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons using SPME method to obtain highly enriched analytes. Consequently, quantitative determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in water was achieved by GC‐MS technique. The selected parameters affecting enrichment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were sample extraction time, stirring speed, temperature, ionic strength, and pH. The study revealed that optimal operating conditions were found to be 90‐min extraction time, 1400 rpm stirring speed, and 60°C sample temperature. The effect of ionic strength and pH were shown to be insignificant. Optimized conditions were also reevaluated by placing the 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons into several subgroups based on their molecular weight. The extraction efficiency of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with low molecular weight was shown to be a function of only the extracting temperature. Satisfactory results were obtained for linearity (0.983–0.999), detection limits (2.67–18.02 ng/L), accuracy (71.2–99.3%), and precision (4.3–13.5%). The optimum conditions reported by other design approaches were evaluated and generalized optimum conditions were suggested.  相似文献

Cotton fiber is an environmentally friendly and natural material with a certain extraction capacity, while its enrichment ability is poor. In order to improve the extraction efficiency of cotton fibers, it was carbonized to form a layer of amorphous carbon as the sorbent by a simple carbonization method. Carbonized cotton fibers were filled into a polyetheretherketone tube for in‐tube solid‐phase microextraction. The carbonization time was investigated to obtain high extraction efficiency. Coupled to high‐performance liquid chromatography, the extraction tube was evaluated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, estrogens and phthalates, and it exhibited best extraction efficiency for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Under the optimum conditions, an online analysis method for several polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons was established with large linear ranges (0.016–0.20 μg/L), low limits of detection (0.005–0.020 μg/L), and high enrichment factors (948–2874). Analysis method was successfully applied to the detection of targets in the real samples and shown satisfactory durability and chemical stability. Moreover, the relative recoveries ranged from 82 to 119.2%, which demonstrated the applicability of carbonized cotton fibers in sample preparation. Compared with other reported methods, the proposed method provided shorter extraction time, higher enrichment factors, comparable limits of detection, and recoveries.  相似文献

That polystyrene and benzene as additives to gasoline increase the amount of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) has been studied previously in our laboratory. This paper describes the use of carbon disulfide as the solvent instead of benzene brings a marked reduction of the formation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.  相似文献
