The product branching ratios for NO+(X 1Sigma+) and NO+(a 3Sigma+) produced from the reaction of N+ with O2 have been measured at 298 and 500 K in a selected ion flow tube. Approximately 0.5% of the total products are in NO+(a) at both temperatures, despite the fact that the reaction to form NO+(a) is 0.3 eV exothermic. High-level ab initio calculations of the potential energy surfaces for the N+ + O2 reaction show that the reaction from N+(3P) + O2(3Sigma(g)) reactants starts with an efficient early stage charge transfer to the N(2D) + O2+(X 2Pi) channel, which gives rise to the O2+(X 2Pi) product and, at the same time, serves as the starting point for all of the reaction channels leading to NO+ and O+ products. Pathways to produce NO+(a 3Sigma+) are found to be less favorable than pathways leading to the major product NO+(X 1Sigma+). Production of N(2D) has implications for the concentration of NO in the mesosphere.  相似文献

A experimental observation is presented on the N2O+ photodissociation process, which exhibits a complete channel switching effect in a narrow energy range. The N2O+ ions, prepared at the X2Pi (000) state by (3+1) multiphoton ionization of neutral N2O molecules at 360.6 nm, were excited to different vibrational levels in the A2Sigma+ state in a wavelength range of 275-328 nm. Based on the estimates of total released kinetic energies from the time-of-flight mass spectrum, it was found that the dissociation pathway of N2O+ (A2Sigma+), NO+ (X1Sigma+) + N(4S) with lower dissociation limit, changes abruptly and completely to NO+ (X1Sigma+) + N(2D) with higher dissociation limit, in a excitation energy range of merely 250 cm(-1) at lambda approximately 312.5 nm. This phenomenon was explained by competition between the two dissociation pathways across the special excitation energy region.  相似文献

An experimental two-color photoionization dynamics study of laser-excited Br2 molecules is presented, combining pulsed visible laser excitation and tunable vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) synchrotron radiation with photoelectron imaging. The X 1Sigmag + -B 3Pi0+u transition in Br2 is excited at 527 nm corresponding predominantly to excitation of the v' = 28 vibrational level in the B 3Pi0+u state. Tunable VUV undulator radiation in the energy range of 8.40-10.15 eV is subsequently used to ionize the excited molecules to the X 2Pi32,12 state of the ion, and the ionic ground state is probed by photoelectron imaging. Similar experiments are performed using single-photon synchrotron ionization in the photon energy range of 10.75-12.50 eV without any laser excitation. Photoelectron kinetic energy distributions are extracted from the photoelectron images. In the case of two-color photoionization using resonant excitation of the intermediate B 3Pi0+u state, a broad distribution of photoelectron kinetic energies is observed, and in some cases even a bimodal distribution, which depends on the VUV photon energy. In contrast, for single-photon ionization, a single nearly Gaussian-shaped distribution is observed, which shifts to higher energy with photon energy. Simulated spectra based on Franck-Condon factors for the transitions Br2(X 1Sigmag+, v" = 0)-Br2 +(X 2Pi12,32, v+) and Br2(B 3Pi0+u, v' = 28)-Br2 +(X 2Pi12,32, v+) are generated. Comparison of these calculated spectra with the measured images suggests that the differences in the kinetic energy distributions for the two ionization processes reflect the different extensions of the vibrational wave functions in the v" = 0 electronic ground state (X 1Sigmag+) versus the electronically and vibrationally excited state (B 3Pi0+u, v' = 28).  相似文献

Dissociative direct photoionization of the N2O(X 1Sigma+) linear molecule via the N2O+(B 2Pi) ionic state induced by linearly polarized synchrotron radiation P in the 18-22 eV photon energy range is investigated using the (VA+,Ve,P) vector correlation method, where VA+ is the nascent velocity vector of the NO+, N2+, or O+ ionic fragment and Ve that of the photoelectron. The DPI processes are identified by the ion-electron kinetic energy correlation, and the IchiA+(thetae, phie) molecular frame photoelectron angular distributions (MFPADs) are reported for the dominant reaction leading to NO+ (X 1Sigma+,v) + N(2D)+ e. The measured MFPADs are found in satisfactory agreement with the reported multichannel Schwinger configuration interaction calculations, when bending of the N2O+(B 2Pi) molecular ion prior to dissociation is taken into account. A significant evolution of the electron scattering anisotropies is observed, in particular in the azimuthal dependence of the MFPADs, characteristic of a photoionization transition between a neutral state of Sigma symmetry and an ionic state of Pi symmetry. This interpretation is supported by a simple model describing the photoionization transition by the coherent superposition of two ssigma and ddelta partial waves and the associated Coulomb phases.  相似文献

Luminescence spectra are recorded for collisions between Xe(+)/Xe(2+) and molecular nitrogen at energies ranging from 4.5 to 316 eV in the center-of-mass frame. In the Xe(+) + N(2) collision system, evidence for luminescent charge-transfer products is only found through Xe I emission lines. The most intense features of the luminescence spectra are attributed to atomic N emissions observed above ~20 eV. Intense N(2)(+) A (2)Π(u) - X(2)Σ(g)(+) and B(2)Σ(u)(+) - X(2)Σ(g)(+) radiance is observed from Xe(2+) + N(2) collisions. The B state formation cross section decreases with collision energy until 20 eV, after which it becomes independent of impact energy with an approximate value of 3 ?(2). The cross section for N(2) (+) A (ν > 0) formation increases with energy until 20 eV, after which it remains nearly constant at ~1 ?(2). The N(2)(+) product vibrational distributions extracted from the spectra are non-Franck-Condon for both electronic product states at low collision energies. The distributions resemble a Franck-Condon distribution at the highest energies investigated in this work.  相似文献

The photodissociation dynamics of I3- from 390 to 290 nm (3.18 to 4.28 eV) have been investigated using fast beam photofragment translational spectroscopy in which the products are detected and analyzed with coincidence imaging. At photon energies < or = 3.87 eV, two-body dissociation that generates I- + I2(A 3Pi1) and vibrationally excited I2- (X 2Sigmau+) + I(2P(3/2)) is observed, while at energies > or = 3.87 eV, I*(2P(1/2)) + I2- (X 2Sigmau+) is the primary two-body dissociation channel. In addition, three-body dissociation yielding I- +2I(2P(3/2)) photofragments is seen throughout the energy range probed; this is the dominant channel at all but the lowest photon energy. Analysis of the three-body dissociation events indicates that this channel results primarily from a synchronous concerted decay mechanism.  相似文献

The kinetics for the reactions of NOO+ ions with neutral molecules having ionization potentials (IPs) from 9.27 to 15.58 eV was measured in a selected ion flow tube at 298 K. The NOO+ ions are produced from the reaction of N3+ + O2 and have been reacted with the following: NO, C6F6, CS2, CF3I, C3F6, OCS, C2H6, Xe, SO2, O3, N2O, CO2, Kr, CO, D2, and N2. Numerous types of reactions were observed with the various neutral reagents, including production of NO+ (which may involve loss of an O from the ion or addition of O to the neutral reactant, although the two channels could not be distinguished here), charge transfer, isomerization of NOO+ to ONO+, and hydride abstraction. High level theoretical calculations of the structures and energetics of the various isomers, electronic states, and transition states of NOO and NOO+ were performed to better understand the observed reactivity. All neutral species with an IP< or =11.18 eV were observed to react with NOO+ in part by charge transfer. Detailed calculations showed that the recommended adiabatic and vertical IPs of NOO are 10.4 and 11.7 eV, respectively, at the MRCISDQ/AVQZ level of theory. The observed experimental limit for charge transfer of 11.18 eV agreed well with the energetics of the final products obtained from theory if dissociation of the neutral metastable product occurred, i.e., the products were X+ +[O(3P) + NO(2Pi)], where [O(3P)+NO(2Pi)] formed via dissociation of metastable NOO. Charge exchange with neutral reagent X would, therefore, be exothermic if IP(X)<[IPad(NOO)-DeltaE(O+NO)-NOO]= approximately 11.1 eV, where IPad(NOO) is the adiabatic IP. The potential energy surface for the reaction of NOO+ with C2H6 was also calculated, indicating that two pathways for formation of HNO2 + C2H5 (+) exist.  相似文献

The photodissociation of N(2)O at wavelengths near 130 nm has been investigated by velocity-mapped product imaging. In all, five dissociation channels have been detected, leading to the following products: O((1)S)+N(2)(X (1)Sigma), N((2)D)+NO(X (2)Pi), N((2)P)+NO(X (2)Pi), O((3)P) + N(2)(A (3)Sigma(+) (u)), and O((3)P) + N(2)(B (3)Pi(g)). The most significant channel is to the products O((1)S) + N(2)(X(1)Sigma), with strong vibrational excitation in the N(2). The O((3)P) + N(2)(A,B):N((2)D,(2)P) + NO branching ratio is measured to be 1.4 +/- 0.5, while the N(2)(A) + O((3)P(J)):N(2)(B) + O((3)P(J)) branching ratio is determined to be 0.84+/-0.09. The spin-orbit distributions for the O((3)P(J)), N((2)P(J)), and N((2)D(J)) products were also determined. The angular distributions of the products are in qualitative agreement with excitation to the N(2)O(D (1)Sigma(+)) state, with participation as well by the (3)Pi(v) state.  相似文献

Fourier transform visible spectroscopy, in conjunction with VUV photons produced by a synchrotron, is employed to investigate the photodissociation of CH3CN. Emission is observed from both the CN(B2Sigma+-X2Sigma+) and CH(A2Delta-X2Pi) transitions; only the former is observed in spectra recorded at 10.2 and 11.5 eV, whereas both are detected in the 16 eV spectrum. The rotational and vibrational temperatures of both the CN(B2Sigma+) and CH(A2Delta) radical products are derived using a combination of spectral simulations and Boltzmann plots. The CN(B2Sigma+) fragment displays a bimodal rotational distribution in all cases. Trot(CN(B2Sigma+)) ranges from 375 to 600 K at lower K' and from 1840 to 7700 K at higher K' depending on the photon energy used. Surprisal analyses indicate clear bimodal rotational distributions, suggesting CN(B2Sigma+) is formed via either linear or bent transition states, respectively, depending on the extent of rotational excitation in this fragment. CH(A2Delta) has a single rotational distribution when produced at 16 eV, which results in Trot(CH(A2Delta))=4895+/-140 K in v'=0 and 2590+/-110 K in v'=1. From thermodynamic calculations, it is evident that CH(A2Delta) is produced along with CN(X2Sigma+)+H2. These products can be formed by a two step mechanism (via excited CH3* and ground state CN(X2Sigma+)) or a process similar to the "roaming" atom mechanism; the data obtained here are insufficient to definitively conclude whether either pathway occurs. A comparison of the CH(A2Delta) and CN(B2Sigma+) rotational distributions produced by 16 eV photons allows the ratio between the two excited fragments at this energy to be determined. An expression that considers the rovibrational populations of both band systems results in a CH(A2Delta):CN(B2Sigma+) ratio of (1.2+/-0.1):1 at 16 eV, thereby indicating that production of CH(A2Delta) is significant at 16 eV.  相似文献

The chemiluminescent reaction Ba(6s6p (3)P)+N(2)O was studied at an average collision energy of 1.56 eV in a beam-gas arrangement. Ba((3)P) was produced by laser ablation of barium, which resulted in a broad collision energy distribution extending up to approximately 5.7 eV. A series of experiments was made to extract the Ba((3)P) contribution to chemiluminescence from that corresponding to Ba 6s(2) (1)S0 and 6s5d (3)D, which are the other two most populated states in the atomic beam. The fully dispersed polarized chemiluminescence spectra at 400-600 nm from the title reaction were recorded and assigned to a BaO molecule excited in the A (1)Sigma+ level. In addition, the average and wavelength-resolved degrees of polarization associated to the parallel BaO(A (1)Sigma+-->X (1)Sigma+) emission are reported. The analysis of the average polarization degree show that the BaO(A (1)Sigma+) product is significantly aligned, suggesting that the reaction mechanism is predominantly direct. The product rotational alignment was found to depend markedly on the emission wavelength, which revealed a negative correlation with the BaO(A (1)Sigma+) product vibrational state. On the basis of experimental and theoretical investigations on the reactions of N(2)O with both the (1)S0, (3)D, and (1)P1 states of Ba and the lighter group 2 atoms, it is suggested that the Ba((3)P) reaction involves a charge transfer at relatively short reagent separations and that restricted collision geometries at the highest velocity components of the broad distribution are necessary to rationalize the data.  相似文献

The electronic and geometric structures of gallium dinitride cation, GaN2+ and gallium tetranitride cation, GaN4+ were systematically studied by employing density functional theory (DFT-B3LYP) and perturbation theory (MP2, MP4) in conjunction with large basis sets, (aug-)cc-pVxZ, x = T, Q. A total of 7 structures for GaN2+ and 24 for GaN4+ were identified, corresponding to minima, transition states, and saddle points. We report geometries and dissociation energies for all the above structures as well as potential energy profiles, potential energy surfaces, and bonding mechanisms for some low-lying electronic states. The calculated dissociation energy (De) of the ground state of GaN2+, X1Sigma+, is 5.6 kcal/mol with respect to Ga+(1S) + N2(X1Sigmag+) and that of the excited state, ?3Pi, is 24.8 kcal/mol with respect to Ga+(3P) + N2(X1Sigmag+). The ground state and the first excited minimum of GaN4+ are of 1A1(C2v) and 3B1(C2v) symmetry with corresponding De of 11.0 and 43.7 kcal/mol with respect to Ga+(1S) + 2N2(X1Sigmag+) for X1A1 and Ga+(3P) + 2N2(X1Sigmag+) for 3B1.  相似文献

The product state-resolved dynamics of the reactions H+H(2)O/D(2)O-->OH/OD((2)Pi(Omega);v',N',f )+H(2)/HD have been explored at center-of-mass collision energies around 1.2, 1.4, and 2.5 eV. The experiments employ pulsed laser photolysis coupled with polarized Doppler-resolved laser induced fluorescence detection of the OH/OD radical products. The populations in the OH spin-orbit states at a collision energy of 1.2 eV have been determined for the H+H(2)O reaction, and for low rotational levels they are shown to deviate from the statistical limit. For the H+D(2)O reaction at the highest collision energy studied the OD((2)Pi(3/2),v'=0,N'=1,A') angular distributions show scattering over a wide range of angles with a preference towards the forward direction. The kinetic energy release distributions obtained at 2.5 eV also indicate that the HD coproducts are born with significantly more internal excitation than at 1.4 eV. The OD((2)Pi(3/2),v'=0,N'=1,A') angular and kinetic energy release distributions are almost identical to those of their spin-orbit excited OD((2)Pi(1/2),v'=0,N'=1,A') counterpart. The data are compared with previous experimental measurements at similar collision energies, and with the results of previously published quasiclassical trajectory and quantum mechanical calculations employing the most recently developed potential energy surface. Product OH/OD spin-orbit effects in the reaction are discussed with reference to simple models.  相似文献

For the charge transfer and vibrational and electronic deexcitations between O2/O2+ + CO+/CO, O/O+ + CO2+/CO2, and C/C+ + O3+/O3, multistep reaction pathways are discussed in light of the theoretical data of this and previous paper together with close comparison with the experimental observations. Our calculations show that these pathways involve both the long range and molecular region ranges of the potential energy surfaces of the electronic states of the stable isomers of OOCO+ and mostly those of the weakly bound charge transfer complex OOCO+. The couplings between these electronic states such as vibronic, Renner-Teller, Jahn-Teller, and spin orbit are viewed to play crucial roles here. Moreover, the initial orientation of the reactants, in the entrance channels, strongly influences the reaction mechanisms undertaken. We propose for the first time a mechanism for the widely experimentally studied spin-forbidden exothermic O+((4)S(u))+CO2(X (1)Sigmag+)-->O2+(X (2)Pi(g))+CO(X (1)Sigma+) reaction where the O turns around the OCO molecule.  相似文献

We report a combined experimental and theoretical investigation of the nonreactive quenching channel resulting from electronic quenching of OH A 2Sigma+ by molecular hydrogen. The experiments utilize a pump-probe scheme to determine the OH X 2Pi population distribution following collisional quenching in a pulsed supersonic expansion. The pump laser excites OH A 2Sigma+ (nu'=0, N'=0), which has a significantly reduced fluorescence lifetime due to quenching by H2. The probe laser monitors the OH X 2Pi (nu", N") population via laser-induced fluorescence on various A-X transitions under single collision conditions. The experiments reveal a high degree of rotational excitation (N") of the quenched OH X 2Pi products observed in nu"=1 and 2 as well as a pronounced propensity for quenching into the Pi(A') Lambda-doublet level. These experiments have been supplemented by extensive multireference, configuration-interaction calculations aimed at exploring the topology of the relevant potential energy surfaces. Electronic quenching of OH A 2Sigma+ by H2 proceeds through conical intersections between two potentials of A' reflection symmetry (in planar geometry) that correlate with the electronically excited A 2Sigma+ and ground X 2Pi states of OH. The conical intersections occur in high-symmetry geometries, in which the O side of OH points toward H2. Corroborating and extending earlier work of Hoffman and Yarkony [J. Chem. Phys. 113, 10091 (2000)], these calculations reveal a steep gradient away from the OH-H2 conical intersection as a function of both the OH orientation and interfragment distance. The former will give rise to a high degree of OH rotational excitation, as observed for the quenched OH X 2Pi products.  相似文献

Negative ion photoelectron spectroscopy was used to elucidate the electronic and geometric structure of the gaseous Al2N/Al2N- molecules, using photodetachment wavelengths of 416 nm (2.977 eV), 355 nm (3.493 eV), and 266 nm (4.661 eV). Three electronic bands are observed and assigned to the X2Sigma(u)+ <-- X1Sigma(g)+, A2Pi(u) <-- X1Sigma(g)+, and B2Sigma(g)+ <-- X1Sigma(g)+ electronic transitions, with the caveat that one or both excited states may be slightly bent. With the aid of density functional theory calculations and Franck-Condon spectral simulations, we determine the adiabatic electron affinity of Al2N, 2.571 +/- 0.008 eV, along with geometry changes upon photodetachment, vibrational frequencies, and excited-state term energies. Observation of excitation of the odd vibrational levels of the antisymmetric stretch (nu3) suggests a breakdown of the Franck-Condon approximation, caused by the vibronic coupling between the X2Sigma(u)+ and B2Sigma(g)+ electronic states through the nu3 mode.  相似文献

The rate constant for the reaction OH(X2Pi) + OH(X2Pi) --> O(3P) + H2O has been measured over the temperature range 293-373 K and pressure range 2.6-7.8 Torr in both Ne and Ar bath gases. The OH radical was created by 193 nm laser photolysis of N2O to produce O(1D) atoms that reacted rapidly with H2O to produce the OH radical. The OH radical was detected by quantitative time-resolved near-infrared absorption spectroscopy using Lambda-doublet resolved rotational transitions of the first overtone of OH(2,0) near 1.47 microm. The temporal concentration profiles of OH were simulated using a kinetic model, and rate constants were determined by minimizing the sum of the squares of residuals between the experimental profiles and the model calculations. At 293 K the rate constant for the title reaction was found to be (2.7 +/- 0.9) x 10(-12) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1), where the uncertainty includes an estimate of both random and systematic errors at the 95% confidence level. The rate constant was measured at 347 and 373 K and found to decrease with increasing temperature.  相似文献

Gas-phase reactions of Ta(2+) and TaO(2+) with oxidants, including thermodynamically facile O-atom donor N(2)O and ineffective donor CO, as well as intermediate donors C(2)H(4)O (ethylene oxide), H(2)O, O(2), CO(2), NO, and CH(2)O, were studied by Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry. All oxidants reacted with Ta(2+) by electron transfer yielding Ta(+), in accord with the high second ionization energy of Ta (ca. 16 eV). TaO(2+) was also produced with N(2)O, H(2)O, O(2), and CO(2), oxidants with ionization energies above 12 eV; CO reacted only by electron transfer. The following charge separation products were also observed: TaN(+) and TaO(+) with N(2)O; and TaO(+) with O(2), CO(2), and CH(2)O. TaOH(2+), formed with H(2)O, reacted with a second H(2)O by proton transfer. TaO(2+) abstracted an electron from N(2)O, H(2)O, O(2), CO(2), and CO. Oxidation of TaO(2+) by N(2)O was also observed to produce TaO(2)(2+); on the basis of density functional theory (DFT) results, this species is a dioxide, {O-Ta-O}(2+). TaO(2)(2+) reacted by electron transfer with N(2)O, CO(2), and CO to give TaO(2)(+). Additionally, it was found that TaO(2)(2+) oxidizes CO to CO(2) and that it acts as a catalyst in the oxidation of CO by N(2)O. TaO(2)(2+) also activates H(2) to form TaO(2)H(2+). On the basis of the rates of electron transfer from N(2)O, CO(2), and CO to Ta(2+), TaO(2+), and TaO(2)(2+), the following estimates were made for the second ionization energies of Ta, TaO, and TaO(2): IE[Ta(+)] = 15.8 ± 0.3 eV, IE[TaO(+)] = 16.0 ± 0.5 eV, and IE[TaO(2)(+)] = 16.9 ± 0.4 eV. These IEs, together with recently reported bond dissociation energies, D[Ta(+)-O] and D[OTa(+)-O], result in the following bond energies: D[Ta(2+)-O] = 657 ± 58 kJ mol(-1) and D[OTa(2+)-O] = 500 ± 63 kJ mol(-1), the first of which is in good agreement with the value obtained by DFT.  相似文献

Optical emission spectroscopy has been applied to study the spatially resolved measurements of the emission intensities of OH (A(2)Sigma-->X(2)Pi, 0-0) and N(2)(+) (B(2)Sigma(u)(+)-->X(2)Sigma(g)(+), 0-0, 391.4 nm) produced by a high-voltage positive pulsed streamer discharge consisting of a gas mixture of N(2) and H(2)O in a wire-plate reactor under severe electromagnetic interference at atmospheric pressure. The effects of pulse peak voltage, pulse repetition rate, and the added O(2) flow rate on the spatial distributions of the emission intensity of OH (A(2)Sigma-->X(2)Pi, 0-0) and N(2)(+) (B(2)Sigma(u)(+)-->X(2)Sigma(g)(+), 0-0, 391.4 nm) in the lengthwise direction (direction from wire to plate) are investigated. It has been found that the emission intensities of OH (A(2)Sigma-->X(2)Pi, 0-0) and N(2)(+) (B(2)Sigma(u)(+)-->X(2)Sigma(g)(+), 0-0, 391.4 nm) rise with an increase in both pulse peak voltage and pulse repetition rate and decrease with an increase in oxygen flows added in an N(2) and H(2)O gas mixture. The emission intensity of OH (A(2)Sigma-->X(2)Pi, 0-0) decreases with increasing the distance from the wire electrode. The emission intensity of N(2)(+) (B(2)Sigma(u)(+)-->X(2)Sigma(g)(+), 0-0, 391.4 nm) is nearly constant at 0-4mm from wire electrode, and sharply increases near the ground electrode. The vibrational temperature of N(2) (C) increases with increasing O(2) flows and keeps almost constant in the lengthwise direction under the present experimental conditions. The main physicochemical processes involved are also discussed in this paper.  相似文献

The kinetics and mechanisms of the oxidation of I (-) and Br (-) by trans-[Ru (VI)(N 2O 2)(O) 2] (2+) have been investigated in aqueous solutions. The reactions have the following stoichiometry: trans-[Ru (VI)(N 2O 2)(O) 2] (2+) + 3X (-) + 2H (+) --> trans-[Ru (IV)(N 2O 2)(O)(OH 2)] (2+) + X 3 (-) (X = Br, I). In the oxidation of I (-) the I 3 (-)is produced in two distinct phases. The first phase produces 45% of I 3 (-) with the rate law d[I 3 (-)]/dt = ( k a + k b[H (+)])[Ru (VI)][I (-)]. The remaining I 3 (-) is produced in the second phase which is much slower, and it follows first-order kinetics but the rate constant is independent of [I (-)], [H (+)], and ionic strength. In the proposed mechanism the first phase involves formation of a charge-transfer complex between Ru (VI) and I (-), which then undergoes a parallel acid-catalyzed oxygen atom transfer to produce [Ru (IV)(N 2O 2)(O)(OHI)] (2+), and a one electron transfer to give [Ru (V)(N 2O 2)(O)(OH)] (2+) and I (*). [Ru (V)(N 2O 2)(O)(OH)] (2+) is a stronger oxidant than [Ru (VI)(N 2O 2)(O) 2] (2+) and will rapidly oxidize another I (-) to I (*). In the second phase the [Ru (IV)(N 2O 2)(O)(OHI)] (2+) undergoes rate-limiting aquation to produce HOI which reacts rapidly with I (-) to produce I 2. In the oxidation of Br (-) the rate law is -d[Ru (VI)]/d t = {( k a2 + k b2[H (+)]) + ( k a3 + k b3[H (+)]) [Br (-)]}[Ru (VI)][Br (-)]. At 298.0 K and I = 0.1 M, k a2 = (2.03 +/- 0.03) x 10 (-2) M (-1) s (-1), k b2 = (1.50 +/- 0.07) x 10 (-1) M (-2) s (-1), k a3 = (7.22 +/- 2.19) x 10 (-1) M (-2) s (-1) and k b3 = (4.85 +/- 0.04) x 10 (2) M (-3) s (-1). The proposed mechanism involves initial oxygen atom transfer from trans-[Ru (VI)(N 2O 2)(O) 2] (2+) to Br (-) to give trans-[Ru (IV)(N 2O 2)(O)(OBr)] (+), which then undergoes parallel aquation and oxidation of Br (-), and both reactions are acid-catalyzed.  相似文献

A low-temperature gas-phase kinetics study of the reactions and collisional relaxation processes involving C2(X1Sigma(g)+) and C2(a3Pi(u)) in collision with O2 and NO partners at temperatures from 300 to 24 K is reported. The experiments employed a CRESU (Cinétique de Réaction en Ecoulement Supersonique Uniforme) apparatus to attain low temperatures. The C2 species were created using pulsed laser photolysis at 193 nm of mixtures containing C2Cl4 diluted in N2, Ar, or He carrier gas. C2(X1Sigma(g)+) molecules were detected via pulsed laser-induced fluorescence in the (D1Sigma(u)+ <-- X1Sigma(g)+) system, and C2(a3Pi(u)) molecules were detected via pulsed laser-induced fluorescence in the (d 3Pi(g) <-- a 3Pi(u)) system. Relaxation of 3C2 by intersystem crossing induced by oxygen was measured at temperatures below 200 K, and it was found that this process remains very efficient in the temperature range 50-200 K. Reactivity of C2(X1Sigma(g)+) with oxygen became very inefficient below room temperature. Using these two observations, it was found to be possible to obtain the C2(X1Sigma(g)+) state alone at low temperatures by addition of a suitable concentration of O2 and then study its reactivity with NO without any interference coming from the possible relaxation of C2(a3Pi(u)) to C2(X1Sigma(g)+) induced by this reagent. The rate coefficient for reaction of C2(X1Sigma(g)+) with NO was found to be essentially constant over the temperature range 36-300 K with an average value of (1.6 +/- 0.1) x 10(-10) cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1). Reactivity of C2(a3Pi(u)) with NO was found to possess a slight negative temperature dependence over the temperature range 50-300 K, which is in very good agreement with data obtained at higher temperatures.  相似文献
