Pulsed arc production of tungsten carbide (W-C) powders in deionized water and analytical (99.8%) ethanol was studied. The arc was ignited between two submerged electrodes: one of 99.99% graphite (C) and the other of 99.5% W. The pulse energy and duration were in the ranges of 7.7–192 mJ and 25–65 μs, respectively. The WC1−x production rate was maximized by configuring the C electrode as the anode and the W electrode as the cathode. The rate was greater in ethanol than in water. The rate of producing ∼10 nm particles in ethanol was two orders of magnitude greater when using W anode -C cathode configuration, than with the opposite polarity.  相似文献

The determination of gold is based on the photoexcitation reaction 197Au(γ,γ’)197mAu with the half-life of 7.73 seconds and energy of emitted gamma-rays of 279 keV. Three 100 ml aliquots of coarsely ground Au-ore (grains <2 mm) corresponding to ca. 150–180 g were irradiated for 20 seconds with bremsstrahlung of maximum energy 10 MeV produced by a microtron at the electron beam current of 30–40 μA, 1–10 times reactivation was applied. After 3 seconds of decay, samples were measured for 20 seconds using scintillation or semiconductor gamma-spectrometry with the detection limits for an ideal sample down to 0.5 μg·g−1 and 0.1–0.2 μg·g−1 of Au, respectively. Content of U and Th undergoing photo-fission increases the detection limits several times.  相似文献

Thin films (50–1200 nm) of YFeO3 were deposited on fused silica substrates by spray-pyrolysis using ethylene glycol solution of Y-Fe(III) citric complexes. The films were post deposition annealed at 750°C in static air for 2 h. Films obtained in this way were afterwards irradiated by a burst mode operated Nd-YAG laser (pulse energy 650 mJ, pulse duration 700 μs, energy density 110 mJ/cm2). The laser’s onset was synchronized with that of a magnetic field pulse of nearly square shape (magnetic induction 0.5 T, pulse duration 900 μs). The samples were placed normally to the direction of the magnetic field. The treatment does not affect the phase composition of the film but significantly increases the crystallite sizes of the phases presenting in the sample. The saturation magnetization of the films decreases as a result of the laser and magnetic field treatment and the coercive force increases by 50%.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was the development and validation of an LC–MS–MS method for simultaneous analysis of ibuprofen (IBP), 2-hydroxyibuprofen (2-OH-IBP) enantiomers, and carboxyibuprofen (COOH-IBP) stereoisomers in fungi culture medium, to investigate the ability of some endophytic fungi to biotransform the chiral drug IBP into its metabolites. Resolution of IBP and the stereoisomers of its main metabolites was achieved by use of a Chiralpak AS-H column (150 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm particle size), column temperature 8 °C, and the mobile phase hexane–isopropanol–trifluoroacetic acid (95: 5: 0.1, v/v) at a flow rate of 1.2 mL min−1. Post-column infusion with 10 mmol L−1 ammonium acetate in methanol at a flow rate of 0.3 mL min−1 was performed to enhance MS detection (positive electrospray ionization). Liquid–liquid extraction was used for sample preparation with hexane–ethyl acetate (1:1, v/v) as extraction solvent. Linearity was obtained in the range 0.1–20 μg mL−1 for IBP, 0.05–7.5 μg mL−1 for each 2-OH-IBP enantiomer, and 0.025–5.0 μg mL−1 for each COOH-IBP stereoisomer (r ≥ 0.99). The coefficients of variation and relative errors obtained in precision and accuracy studies (within-day and between-day) were below 15%. The stability studies showed that the samples were stable (p > 0.05) during freeze and thaw cycles, short-term exposure to room temperature, storage at −20 °C, and biotransformation conditions. Among the six fungi studied, only the strains Nigrospora sphaerica (SS67) and Chaetomium globosum (VR10) biotransformed IBP enantioselectively, with greater formation of the metabolite (+)-(S)-2-OH-IBP. Formation of the COOH-IBP stereoisomers, which involves hydroxylation at C3 and further oxidation to form the carboxyl group, was not observed.  相似文献

This paper reports a novel approach for the detection, confirmation, and quantification of 15 selected pyrethroid pesticides, including pyrethins, and two metabolites of dithiocarbamates in foods by ultra-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC–MS–MS). The proposed method makes use of a modified QuEChERS (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe) procedure that combines isolation of the pesticides and sample cleanup in a single step. Analysis of pyrethroids and dithiocarbamate metabolites was performed by UPLC–MS–MS operated with electrospray and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization, respectively. Two specific precursor–product ion transitions were acquired per target compound in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode. Such acquisition achieved the minimum number of identification points according to European Commission (EC) document no. SANCO/10684/2009, thus fulfilling the EC point system requirement for identification of contaminants in samples. The method was validated with a variety of food samples. Calibration curves were linear and covered from 1 to 800 μg kg−1 in the sample for all target compounds. Average recoveries, measured at mass fractions of 10 and 100 μg kg−1 for pyrethroids and 5 and 50 μg kg−1 for dithiocarbamate metabolites, were in the range of 70–120% for all target compounds with relative standard deviations below 20%. Method limits of quantification (MLOQ) were 10 μg kg−1 and 5 μg kg−1 for pyrethroids and dithiocarbamate metabolites, respectively. The method has been successfully applied to the analysis of 600 food samples in the course of the first Hong Kong total diet study with pyrethroids and metabolites of dithiocarbamates being the pesticides determined.  相似文献

A novel method was developed for the determination of captan, folpet, and captafol in apples by dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) coupled with gas chromatography–electron capture detection (GC–ECD). Some experimental parameters that influence the extraction efficiency, such as the type and volume of the disperser solvents and extraction solvents, extraction time, and addition of salt, were studied and optimized to obtain the best extraction results. Under the optimum conditions, high enrichment factors for the compounds were achieved ranging from 824 to 912. The recoveries of fungicides in apples at spiking levels of 20.0 μg kg−1 and 70.0 μg kg−1 were 93.0–109.5% and 95.4–107.7%, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) for the apple samples at 30.0 μg kg−1 of each fungicide were in the range from 3.8 to 4.9%. The limits of detection were between 3.0 and 8.0 μg kg−1. The linearity of the method ranged from 10 to 100 μg kg−1 for the three fungicides, with correlation coefficients (r 2) varying from 0.9982 to 0.9997. The obtained results show that the DLLME combined with GC–ECD can satisfy the requirements for the determination of fungicides in apple samples. Figure Dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) coupled with gas chromatography–electron capture detection (GC–ECD) allows satisfactory determination of fungicides in apple samples  相似文献

The World Health Organization states that envenomation is responsible for a high number of deaths per year, especially in equatorial areas. The only effective specific treatment is the use of hyperimmune serum (antivenom). In Brazil, Crioula breed horses are used for antivenom production, with great importance in the maintenance of public health programs. A strict biochemical and metabolic control is required to attain specificity in antiserum. Inorganic elements represent only a small fraction of whole blood. Nonetheless, they play important roles in mammalian metabolism, being responsible for controlling enzymatic reactions, respiratory and cardiac functions and ageing. In this work, whole blood samples from Crioula breed horses were analyzed by EDXRF technique. The reference interval values were determined for the elements Na (1955–2013 μg g−1), Mg (51–75 μg g−1), P (523–555 μg g−1), S (1628–1730 μg g−1), Cl (2388–2574 μg g−1), K (1649–1852 μg g−1), Ca (202–213 μg g−1), Cu (4.1–4.5 μg g−1) and Zn (2.4–2.8 μg g−1) and a comparative study with NAA results was outlined. The samples were obtained from Instituto Butantan. Both techniques showed to be appropriate for whole blood sample analyses and offer a new perspective in Veterinary Medicine.  相似文献

An indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed in plate to detect three sulfonamide residues (sulfamerazine (SMR), sulfadimetoxine (SDM), and sulfadiazine (SDZ)) in gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata) samples. Different extraction methodologies—using methanol/water 1:1 (v/v) + ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) 0.5% (m/v), acetonitrile, phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) 10 mmol L−1 pH 7 and acetate buffer 100 mmol L−1 pH 5—and cleanup steps, based on solid-phase extraction (C18, SCX, Si) or liquid extraction with hexane, were assayed. As optimum, a fast and simple method using acetonitrile was selected to extract the sulfonamide residues from the edible muscle of fish. Due to matrix effects, a standard addition calibration curve in fish extract is necessary for quantification purposes. Sulfonamide-free samples were spiked at different concentration levels (between 30 and 90 ng g−1, 5–15 ng mL−1 in plate) and average recoveries (n = 8), ranging from 71% to 95%, 65% to 79%, and 72% to 95%, were obtained for SMR, SDM, and SDZ, respectively. The assay detection limits for these antibiotics were lower than 100 μg kg−1 (maximum residue level established by the European Union). The accuracy was evaluated by spiking blank fish extracts at different concentrations (10–40 ng mL−1, 5–20 ng mL−1 in plate), and the relative errors ranged between ±20%. Finally, in order to confirm the utility of the developed ELISA as a screening methodology, fish samples from different supermarkets were analyzed, and results were compared with those obtained by a validated high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method. The correlation between the results obtained by both ELISA and HPLC methods is satisfactory.   相似文献

An electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometric (ESI-MS-MS) method has been developed for the determination of cyanide (CN) in blood. Five microliters of blood was hemolyzed with 50 μL of water, then 5 μL of 1 M tetramethylammonium hydroxide solution was added to raise the pH of the hemolysate and to liberate CN from methemoglobin. CN was then reacted with NaAuCl4 to produce dicyanogold, Au(CN)2, that was extracted with 75 μL of methyl isobutyl ketone. Ten microliters of the extract was injected directly into an ESI-MS-MS instrument and quantification of CN was performed by selected reaction monitoring of the product ion CN at m/z 26, derived from the precursor ion Au(CN)2 at m/z 249. CN could be measured in the quantification range of 2.60 to 260 μg/L with the limit of detection at 0.56 μg/L in blood. This method was applied to the analysis of clinical samples and the concentrations of CN in the blood were as follows: 7.13 ± 2.41 μg/L for six healthy non-smokers, 3.08 ± 1.12 μg/L for six CO gas victims, 730 ± 867 μg for 21 house fire victims, and 3,030 ± 97 μg/L for a victim who ingested NaCN. The increase of CN in the blood of a victim who ingested NaN3 was confirmed using MS-MS for the first time, and the concentrations of CN in the blood, gastric content and urine were 78.5 ± 5.5, 11.8 ± 0.5, and 11.4 ± 0.8 μg/L, respectively.  相似文献

The Mikania genus is widely known as guaco and is used to treat fever, rheumatism, influenza and respiratory diseases. This article deals with the simultaneous quantification of three commercially available phenolic markers (o-coumaric acid, coumarin and syringaldehyde) in M. laevigata extracts, through LC-PDA. The validation data show that the method is specific, accurate, precise and robust, and also indicative of the stability of guaco extract. The method was linear, over a range of 1.25–20.0 μg mL−1 for o-coumaric acid, 2.5–40.0 μg mL−1 for coumarin, and 0.25–4.0 μg mL−1 for syringaldehyde. The range of recovery was 94.3–96.4% for all the components, at a level of 100%.  相似文献

Carboxymethyl cellulose Sn(IV) phosphate composite nano-rod like cation exchanger with diameter in the range of 20–40 nm, length in the range of 100–150 μm and particle size in the range of 21–38 nm have been successfully prepared by surfactant assisted sol–gel method. Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, fourier transform infra red spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis-differential thermal analysis studies were carried out to study the structure and morphology of this composite nano-rod like cation exchanger. Freundlich adsorption isotherm is well fitted for the adsorption of pyridine on the surface of this composite nano-rod like cation exchanger. The thermodynamic parameters such as Freundlich constant, thermodynamic equilibrium constant (K 0), standard free energy changes (ΔG 0), standard enthalpy changes (ΔH 0) and standard entropy changes (ΔS 0) have been evaluated. These parameters indicated that the adsorption of pyridine on the surface of composite nano-rod like cation exchanger was feasible, spontaneous and exothermic in nature which suggests for the potential application of pyridine removal from water.  相似文献

A sensitive and effective method for simultaneous determination of triazolopyrimidine sulfonamide herbicide residues in soil, water, and wheat was developed using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry. The four herbicides (pyroxsulam, flumetsulam, metosulam, and diclosulam) were cleaned up with an off-line C18 SPE cartridge and detected by tandem mass spectrometry using an electrospray ionization source in positive mode (ESI+). The determination of the target compounds was achieved in <2.0 min. The limits of detection were below 1 μg kg−1, while the limits of quantification did not exceed 3 μg kg−1 in different matrices. Quantitation was determined from calibration curves of standards containing 0.05–100 μg L−1 with r 2 > 0.997. Recovery studies were conducted at three spiked levels (0.2, 1, and 5 μg kg−1 for water; 5, 10, and 100 μg kg−1 for soil and wheat). The overall average recoveries for this method in water, soil, wheat plants, and seeds at three levels ranged from 75.4% to 106.0%, with relative standard deviations in the range of 2.1–12.5% (n = 5) for all analytes.  相似文献

A simple reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of the antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) zonisamide (ZNS), primidone (PRI), lamotrigine (LTG), phenobarbital (PB), phenytoin (PHT), oxcarbazepine (OXC), and carbamazepine (CBZ) and two of their active metabolites, monohydroxycarbamazepine (MHD) and carbamazepine 10,11-epoxide (CBZE) in human plasma. Plasma (100 μL) was pretreated by deproteinization with 300 μL methanol containing 20 μg mL−1 propranolol hydrochloride as internal standard. HPLC was performed on a C8 column (4.6 mm × 250 mm; particle size 5 μm) with methanol–acetonitrile–0.1% trifluoroacetic acid, 235:120:645 (v/v), as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.5 mL min−1. ZNS, OXC, and CBZ were monitored by UV detection at 235 nm, and PRI, LTG, MHD, PB, PHT, and CBZE by UV detection at 215 nm. Relationships between response and concentration were linear over the concentration ranges 1–80 μg mL−1 for ZNS, 5–50 μg mL−1 for PRI, 1–25 μg mL−1 for LTG, 1–50 μg mL−1 for MHD, 5–100 μg mL−1 for PB, 1–10 μg mL−1 for CBZE, 0.5–25 μg mL−1 for OXC, 1–50 μg mL−1 for PHT, and 1–25 μg mL−1 for CBZ. Intra-day and inter-day reproducibility were adequate (coefficients of variation were ≤11.6%) and absolute recovery ranged from 95.2 ± 6.13 to 107.7 ± 7.76% for all the analytes; for the IS recovery was 98.69 ± 1.12%. The method was proved to be accurate, reproducible, convenient, and suitable for therapeutic monitoring of the nine analytes.  相似文献

Radiochemical results of U isotopes (234U, 235U and 238U) and their activity ratios are reported for well waters as local sources of drinking waters collected from the ten settlements around the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site (SNTS), Kazakhstan. The results show that 238U varies widely from 3.6 to 356 mBq/L (0.3–28.7 μg/L), with a factor of about 100. The 238U concentrations in some water samples from Dolon, Tailan, Sarzhal and Karaul settlements are comparable to or higher than the World Health Organization’s restrictive proposed guideline of 15 μg (U)/L. The 234U/238U activity ratios in the measured water samples are higher than 1, and vary between 1.1 and 7.9, being mostly from 1.5 to 3. The measured 235U/238U activity ratios are around 0.046, indicating that U in these well waters is of natural origin. It is probable that the elevated concentration of 238U found in some settlements around the SNTS is not due to the close-in fallout from nuclear explosions at the SNTS, but rather to the intensive weathering of rocks including U there. The calculated effective doses to adults resulting from consumption of the investigated waters are in the range 1.0–18.7 μSv/y. Those doses are lower than WHO and IAEA reference value (100 μSv/y) for drinking water.  相似文献

Abstract

A stereoselective HPLC method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of oxprenolol enantiomers in urine and pharmaceutical products. Enantiomeric resolution of oxprenolol was achieved on cellulose tris(3,5-dichlorophenylcarbamate) immobilized onto a 5 μm spherical porous silica chiral stationary phase (CSP) known as Chiralpak IC with UV detection at 273 nm. The mobile phase consisted of n-hexane:isopropanol:triethylamine 70:30:0.1 (v/v/v) at a flow rate of 1.0 cm3/min. The method was validated for its linearity, accuracy, precision, and robustness. The calibration curves were linear over the range of 0.5–75 μg/cm3, with a detection limit of 0.1 μg/cm3 for each enantiomer. An average recovery of 99.0% and a mean relative standard deviation of 2.6% at 40.0 μg/cm3 for S-(−)- and R-(+)-enantiomers were obtained. The overall recoveries of oxprenolol enantiomers from pharmaceutical formulations were in the range 97.5–99.0%, with RSDs ranging from 0.6 to 0.8%. The mean extraction efficiency of oxprenolol from urine was in the range of 86.0–93.0% at 0.5–5 μg/cm3 for each enantiomer. The assay method proved to be suitable as a chiral quality control for oxprenolol formulations using HPLC and for therapeutic drug monitoring.  相似文献

Low voltage, low energy submerged pulsed arcs between a pair of carbon or iron electrodes with a pulse repetition rate of 100?Hz, energies of 2.6?C192?mJ and durations of 20, 50 and 100???s were used to remove methylene blue (MB) contamination from 30?ml aqueous solutions. The MB concentration decreased exponentially with rates of 0.0006?C0.0143?s?1 during processing with the carbon electrode pair. With the iron electrodes, the MB concentration initially decreased faster (0.030?s?1) than with the carbon electrodes, but later saturated. However when microparticles produced with the iron electrodes were periodically filtered, the high removal rate was maintained. Under these conditions, the volume of water which can be treated per unit energy expenditure was much higher with the submerged arc than with other plasma processes. A kinetic model based on MB degradation by OH· radicals formed by the discharge was formulated. The higher initial MB removal rate with iron electrodes is explained by additional OH· production from Fenton??s reaction between Fe++ and H2O2 produced by the discharge. This rate is maintained if the eroded iron particles are filtered, but if eroded iron particles accumulate, degradation slows down and stops, possibly because the iron particles catalytically decompose H2O2 and hence stops Fenton??s reaction, and either directly or via increased Fe++ dissolved from the particles, scavenge the OH· radicals.  相似文献

A new adsorbent is proposed for the solid-phase extraction of phenol and 1-naphthol from polluted water. The adsorbent (TX-SiO2) is an organosilica composite made from a bifunctional immobilized layer comprising a major fraction (91%) of hydrophilic diol groups and minor fraction (9%) of the amphiphilic long-chain nonionic surfactant Triton X-100 (polyoxyethylated isooctylphenol) (TX). Under static conditions phenol was quantitatively extracted onto TX-SiO2 in the form of a 4-nitrophenylazophenolate ion associate with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The capacity of TX-SiO2 for phenol is 2.4 mg g−1 with distribution coefficients up to 3.4 × 104 mL g−1; corresponding data for 1-naphthol are 1.5 mg g−1 and 3 × 103 mL g−1. The distribution coefficient does not change significantly for solution volumes of 0.025–0.5 L and adsorbent mass less than 0.03 g; 1–90 μg analyte can be easily eluted by 1–3 mL acetonitrile with an overall recovery of 98.2% and 78.3% for phenol and 1-naphthol, respectively. Linear correlation between acetonitrile solution absorbance (A 540) and phenol concentration (C) in water was found according to the equation A 540 = (6 ± 1) × 10−2 + (0.9 ± 0.1)C (μmol L−1) with a detection range from 1 × 10−8 mol L−1 (0.9 μL g−1) to 2 × 10−7 mol L−1 (19 μL g−1), a limit of quantification of 1 μL g−1 (preconcentration factor 125), correlation coefficient of 0.936, and relative standard deviation of 2.5%. A solid-phase colorimetric method was developed for quantitative determination of 1-naphthol on adsorbent phase using scanner technology and RGB numerical analysis. The detection limit of 1-naphthol with this method is 6 μL g−1 while the quantification limit is 20 μL g−1. A test system was developed for naked eye monitoring of 1-naphthol impurities in water. The proposed test kit allows one to observe changes in the adsorbent color when 1-naphthol concentration in water is 0.08–3.2 mL g−1.  相似文献

A project is underway to build and use a fission time projection chamber (TPC) to make high precision/accuracy measurements of neutron-induced fission cross sections to address issues in fast reactor design. A critical aspect of this program is to have thin TPC targets on thin backings with uniform deposits of the actinides. We have prepared, using vacuum deposition, 100–200 μg/cm2 deposits of 232Th, 235U and 238U on 30–100 μg/cm2 C backings with a measured thickness variation of <1.5%. To facilitate measurement of cross section ratios, we are preparing targets with an n-leaf clover design where each petal is a different nuclide.  相似文献

Amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) property of a red dye rhodamine 6 g (R6G) doped into a highly ordered mesoporous SBA-15 film and a planar waveguide poly (4-vinylphenol) (P4VP) film were studied and compared. Regular morphology and mesoporous structure have been evidenced from the photographs, TEM and Nitrogen adsorption–desorption characterizations. A narrower, higher peak was observed in emission spectra from the meso-structured SBA-15 film doping with R6G (R6G/SBA-15) compared with the photoluminescence (PL) spectrum that of R6G in C2H5OH (R6G/C2H5OH) solution, was abruptly narrowed down to a line-width of about 9.8 nm when pumping at an energy of 0.12 mJ pulse−1, which indicates a favorable ASE property in R6G/SBA-15 film. Comparing the P4VP film spin-coating with R6G (R6G/P4VP), the R6G/SBA-15 film exhibited a much narrower and stronger emission spectrum when it is pumped by the 355 nm pulsed source at the same pumping energy, which means that the meso-structure of the SBA-15 film can optimize ASE property of the material. The threshold was easily obtained by R6G/SBA-15 film at 0.02 mJ pulse−1, and it was lower than that of R6G/P4VP film. The optimized ASE property owes much to the effects of the better spatial confinement of the molecules in the ordered mesoporous structure of SBA-15 film.  相似文献

Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) is an endogenous inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase and an established biomarker for endothelial function, while symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA), an emerging biomarker for renal function, has been shown to outperform creatinine-based equations for estimated glomerular filtration rate. In order to study these analytes for clinical research, a fast and simple method for measuring arginine (ARG), SDMA, and ADMA in plasma by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) has been developed. Plasma (50 μL) was mixed with 50 μL of internal standard of 13C-arginine and d7-ADMA followed by protein precipitation with methanol containing 1% ammonium acetate (300 μL). After centrifugation, the supernatant (100 μL) was mixed with 300 μL of acetonitrile with 1% formic acid, and the mixture was injected onto a silica column monitored by a mass spectrometer. The analytical cycle time was 5.0 min. The method was linear from 5.7 to 489.7 μM for ARG, 0.06 to 5.15 μM for SDMA, and from 0.34 to 5.65 μM for ADMA, with an accuracy of 99.0–120.0%. Total coefficients of variation for all analytes ranged from 2.7% to 7.7% for three concentration levels. The effects of hemolysis, lipemia, uremia, icterus, specimen tube types, storage at different temperature, and freeze/thaw were thoroughly investigated. Reference ranges were established using 51 well-defined reference subjects (12 men and 39 women, age 19–64 years): 53.1–129.7 μM for ARG, 0.32–0.65 μM for SDMA, and 0.36–0.67 μM for ADMA. In conclusion, the validated LC-MS/MS method described here offers a fast and reliable ARG, SDMA, and ADMA quantitation in plasma with minimum sample preparation.  相似文献
