Modified and advanced approach has been developed for the synthesis of meso-tetra(methyl) meso-tetra(4-hydroxy phenyl) calix[4]pyrrole, meso-tetra(methyl) meso-tetra(3, 5-dihydroxy phenyl) calix[4]pyrrole and their azo dyes using microwave irradiation. Results obtained from conventional method and microwave assisted synthesis have been compared in terms of ease, yield and time. Detailed reaction mechanism has also been discussed. The structures of all compounds were characterized based on FT-IR, 1H NMR and elemental analysis. A preliminary study on efficiency of these novel azocalix[4]pyrrole receptors towards copper (II) have been carried out by UV/Vis spectrophotometry at 25 °C which shows a distinct color change from yellow to red upon complexation.  相似文献

Extended cavity calix[4]pyrroles and a calix[6]pyrrole were synthesized by cyclization of 5-methyl-5-(4-nitrophenyl)dipyrromethane with acetone in the presence of acid. The solid-state structures of the novel macrocycles were determined by X-ray crystallography. The host-guest chemistry of these receptors towards halide ions was investigated in solution by 1H NMR titration techniques and compared with those of the meso-octamethylcalix[4]pyrrole and meso-dodecamethylcalix[6]pyrrole. The binding of chloride anions was observed to occur with different affinities on the two faces of the novel calix[6]pyrrole derivative described here.  相似文献

An efficient, green and novel protocol is described for high yield synthesis of N-confused meso-tetraspirocyclohexyl calix[4]pyrrole. In aqueous solution, the condensation of pyrrole and cyclohexanone in the presence of Brønsted acidic ionic liquid catalysts afforded N-confused calix[4]pyrrole in up to 62.5% yield which represents a ∼threefold yield improvement over existing protocol and makes significant quantity of N-confused calix[4]pyrrole readily available.  相似文献

Novel meso‐tetracarboxylic acid and meso‐tetraester functionalized calix[4]pyrroles were synthesized by condensation of pyrrole with levulinic acid and ethyl pyruvate in sufficient yields. In addition, mixed condensation products can also be synthesized using this method. These new compounds may be useful as molecular receptors and polyfunctional starting materials for further derivatization.  相似文献

Series of the calix[4]arene phosphonic acids with various substituents at the lower rim was synthesized. Complexing properties of these receptors towards methyl esters of six amino acids strongly depended on the calix[4]arene conformation flexibility. The complex formation processes were monitored using 1H NMR spectroscopy (deuterated phosphate buffer at pD 7.3, 22 °C) and association constant values were evaluated. Inherently mobile calix[4]arene molecule 3 occurred in cone conformation in aqueous solution turned out to be more effective in complexation of the basic amino acids methyl esters compared to the rigid 2 and flexible 4. Mixed 1:2 and 2:1 (host–guest) complexes were observed for compound 1 with all amino acids methyl esters.  相似文献

Metalation of 5,17-dibromo-25,26,27,28-tetra propoxy calix[4]arene (1) with n-BuLi in THF at −78 °C gave organolithium reagent, which reacted with Me2HSiCl to give 5,17-bis(dimethylsilyl)-25,26,27,28-tetra propoxy calix[4]arene (2). The Si-H groups of calixarene 2 were treated with methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, pentanol, hexanol, 2-propanol and 2-methyl propanol in the presence of Karstedt catalyst (platinum(0)-1,3-divinyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyl disiloxane complex, solution in xylene) to give the corresponding 5,17-bis(alkoxydimethylsilyl)-25,26,27,28-tetra propoxy calix[4]arene (3). Moreover, calixarene 2 was easily functionalized with a variety of alkenes using Karstedt catalyst to give the corresponding organosilylated calix[4]arene (4).  相似文献

Abstract

The first examples of the synthesis of calix[4]pyrroles containing pendant N-substituted pyrrole moieties (in the meso- (2) and β- (1) positions) is reported. Attempts at the production of electropolymerised films containing (1) or (2) alone failed, however the electrochemical co-polymerisation of (1) and pyrrole and (2) and pyrrole has been achieved.  相似文献

Two redox anion receptors based on calix[4]pyrrole and ferrocene have been synthesized. The electrochemical investigation revealed that these compounds can be response to the anions with different shifts of Fc/Fc+ couple. With the 1H NMR titration study, the selectivity to F and AcO ions in CD3CN solution was confirmed. The conformations of the mono-aromatic meso-substituted calix[4]pyrroles, which were the synthetical intermediate of the ferrocene based receptors, and their anion complexes in the solid state have also been studied by single X-ray crystallography, and the rationality of the crystal conformations was proved by theoretical study.  相似文献

Two new meso-indanyl-substituted calix[4]pyrrole receptors, 2 and 3, have been synthesized. A range of calix[4]pyrrole host-neutral molecule complexes crystallise from solutions of 2 in a variety of solvents and the structures of four have been elucidated by X-ray crystallography. The F and Cl anion affinities of 2 have been measured in acetonitrile, and are significantly different from the corresponding affinities of the prototypical calix[4]pyrrole, the octamethyl-derivative, 1. ESI-FTICR-MS has been used to determine the relative F and Cl anion affinities of receptors 1 and 2 in methanol-acetonitrile solution. Deprotonation of 1 and 2 by fluoride is observed (under the conditions of the MS experiment).  相似文献

We report the synthesis of an unprecedented mono-gold(I) phosphine complex based on a “two-wall” aryl-ethynyl extended calix[4]pyrrole. We describe and compare the binding properties of the parent 10α,20α-bis-aryl-ethynyl calix[4]pyrrole ligand and the prepared organometallic compound as receptors for tetraalkylammonium chloride salts in dichloromethane and acetone. We describe the results of 1H NMR, UV–Vis titrations and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) experiments in dichloromethane and acetone, aiming to thermodynamically characterize the formed complexes. The obtained results indicate a noticeable decrease in the binding affinity of the chloride for the mono-gold(I) receptor 1 compared to the parent ligand 2 . The increase in the negative value of the electrostatic surface potential at the center of the aromatic ring of the gold(I) meso-aryl-ethynyl substituent serves to explain the observed results and the presence in solution of the chloride complex of 1 as a mixture of two conformers.  相似文献

Several different synthetic approaches enabling a direct covalent connection between the meso-position of porphyrin and the upper rim of calix[4]arene have been studied. The best results were obtained via condensation of an excess of pyrrole and p-methylbenzaldehyde with calix[4]arene-5,17-dialdehyde under BF3·Et2O catalysis in CHCl3. Subsequent oxidation of the intermediate porphyrinogen gave the corresponding bis-porphyrin-calixarene conjugate in 15% overall yield. The 1H NMR complexation study revealed the pronounced selectivity of the bis-porphyrin derivative towards C70 fullerene.  相似文献

A new calix[4]pyrrole functionalized vic-dioxime, 3-(4-methyl-9,9,14,14,19,19-hexaethylcalix[4]pyrrole)benzoaminoglyoxime (LH2) was synthesized from anti-chloroglyoxime and 3-aminophenyl-calix[4]pyrrole at room temperature. The mononuclear complexes {nickel(II), copper(II) and cobalt(II)} of this vic-dioxime ligand were prepared and their structures were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and UV–Vis spectrophotometry, magnetic susceptibility; the MS, 1H and 13C NMR spectra of the LH2 ligand and its Ni(II) complex were also recorded. The experimental results indicated that the ligand:metal ratio was 2:1 in the cases of Ni(II), Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes as is with most vic-dioximes. Electrochemical properties of the ligand, and its complexes were investigated in DMSO solution by cyclic voltammetry at 200?mV?s?1 scan rate.  相似文献

The effects of substituents on the structure, character, and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of the organic alkalide Li+(calix[4]pyrrole)Li? were studied by density functional theory. Natural bond orbital analysis and vertical ionization energies reveal that electron‐donating substituents strengthen the alkalide character of Li+(calix[4]pyrrole)Li? and that they are beneficial for a larger first hyperpolarizability (β0) value. However, electron‐withdrawing substituents have the opposite effect. The dependence of the NLO properties on the number of substituents and their relative position was detected in multisubstituted Li+(calix[4]pyrrole)Li? compounds. For both the amino‐ and methyl‐substituted derivatives, the polarizabilities and the first hyperpolarizabilities increase as more pyrrole β‐H atoms are substituted. Moreover, distribution of the substituents so that they are as far away from each other as possible resulted in an increase in the β0 value. The new knowledge obtained in this study may provide an effective approach to enhance the NLO responses of alkalides by employing pyrrole derivatives as complexants.  相似文献

The complexation of zinc calix[4]arene or calix[4]pyrrole bisporphyrinates with alkali metal cations, halide anions, and triethylenediamine was studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy. It was established that the binding of molecules and/or charged particles by various fragments of calix[4]arene and calix[4]pyrrole porphyrins are interrelated processes. This makes it possible to use one process (for example, complexation of the calix[4]arene fragment of the macrocycle with alkali metal cations or complexation of the calix[4]pyrrole fragment with halide ions) as a tool for controlling another process (complexation of the porphyrin fragments of the macrocycle with neutral molecules).  相似文献

Novel chiral calix[4]arene derivatives functionalized at the lower rim have been prepared from the reaction of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene diamine or acylhydrazine derivative with mandelic acid or hydroxyisovaleric acid. The structures of these receptors were characterized by FTIR, 1H, 13C and 2D COSY NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The transport of amino acid derivatives (phenylalanine, phenylglycine and tryptophan methyl ester hydrochlorides) was studied through bulk liquid membrane in the presence of chiral calix[4]arene derivatives. The receptors have been found to act as carriers for transport of aromatic amino acid methylesters from the aqueous source phase to the aqueous receiving phase. The transport rate and L/D selectivity of amino acid esters studied depend strongly upon the structure of the chiral receptors and guests. The best enantioselectivity was obtained in the case of phenylglycine methyl ester for all chiral carriers.  相似文献

The recent discovery of calix[3]pyrrole, a porphyrinogen-like tripyrrolic macrocycle, has provided an unprecedented strain-induced ring expansion reaction into calix[6]pyrrole. Here, we synthesized calix[n]furan[3-n]pyrrole (n=1∼3) macrocycles to investigate the reaction scope and mechanism of the ring expansion. Single crystal X-ray analysis and theoretical calculations revealed that macrocyclic ring strain increases as the number of inner NH sites increases. While calix[1]furan[2]pyrrole exhibited almost quantitative conversion into calix[2]furan[4]pyrrole within 5 minutes, less-strained calix[2]furan[1]pyrrole and calix[3]furan were inert. However, N-methylation of calix[2]furan[1]pyrrole induced a ring-expansion reaction that enabled the isolation of a linear reaction intermediate. The mechanism analysis revealed that the ring expansion consists of regioselective ring cleavage and subsequent cyclodimerization. This reaction was further utilized for synthesis of calix[6]-type macrocycles.  相似文献

Furans, thiazoles, fluorene or thiophene incorporated calix[4]pyrrole analogues were synthesized and characterized. The synthesis was achieved by utilization of various building blocks such as 7, 13, 14, 18 and 21. Acid catalyzed condensation of those building blocks with acetone or meso-disubstituted dipyrromethanes afforded desired macrocycles.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of several new phosphorus-containing partially lower rim substituted derivatives of 5,11,17,23-tetra(t-butyl) calix(4)arene (I) and 5,11,17,23-tetra(t-octyl)calix(4)arene (II), namely 5,11,17,23-tetra(t-butyl)-25,27-dihydroxy-26,28-bis(diphenylphosphinoyl-oxy) calix(4)arene (IV); 5,11,17,23-tetra(t-butyl)-25-hydroxy-26,27,28-tris(tetramethyldiamido-phosphinoyl-oxy) calix(4)arene (Vb); 5,11,17,23-tetra(t-butyl)-25,27-dihydroxy-26,28-bis(dimethyl-phosphinoyl-methoxy) calix(4)arene (VI); 5,11,17,23-tetra (t-octyl)-25,27-dihydroxy-26,28-bis(dimethyl-phosphinoyl-methoxy) calix(4)arene (VII) are reported. The structure of the synthesized calix(4)arene derivatives are identified and confirmed by elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 13C, 31P{1H} NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry as and X-ray crystallographic analysis of 5,11,17,23-tetra(t-butyl)-25,27-dihydroxy-26,28-bis(dimethyl-phosphinoyl-methoxy) calix(4)arene VI. According to the NMR spectra, all calix(4)arenes are in cone conformation.  相似文献

The performance of chloride‐selective electrodes based on “two‐wall” aryl‐extended calix[4]pyrroles and multiwall carbon nanotubes is presented. The calix[4]pyrrole receptors bear two phenyl groups at opposite meso‐positions. When the meso‐phenyl groups are decorated with strong electron‐withdrawing substituents, attractive anion–π interactions may exist between the receptor’s aromatic walls and the sandwiched anion. These anion–π interactions are shown to significantly affect the selectivity of the electrodes. Calix[4]pyrrole, bearing a p‐nitro withdrawing group on each of the meso‐phenyl rings, afforded sensors that display anti‐Hofmeister behavior against the lipophilic salicylate and nitrate anions. Based on the experimental data, a series of principles that help in predicting the suitability of synthetic receptors for use as anion‐specific ionophores is discussed. Finally, the sensors deliver excellent results in the direct detection of chloride in bodily fluids.  相似文献

A facile and efficient protocol is reported for the synthesis of calix[4]pyrroles and N-confused calix[4]pyrroles in moderate to excellent yields by one-pot condensation of ketones and pyrrole in the presence of catalytic amount of nontoxic acidic ionic liquids. In this reaction the products were obtained in short reaction time with selectivity of regular calix[4]pyrroles.  相似文献
