A new series of conjugated polymers having diphenylanthracene vinylene biphenylene and diphenylanthracene vinylene terphenylene in the main chain and fluorene pendant group, were synthesized by nickel catalized Yamamoto coupling and palladium catalized Suzuki coupling. The obtained polymers showed good solubility in the common organic solvent and number average molecular weights of 14,000–9500 with a polydispersity indexes ranging from 1.7 to 2.1. Both polymers possess excellent thermal stability with glass transition temperatures of 123–127 °C and the onset decomposition temperatures of 420–400 °C. The obtained polymers showed blue emission (λmax = 461 for PFPA and λmax = 455 nm for PFPAME) in PL spectra, specially, PFPAME containing diphenylanthracene vinylene terphenylenevinylene showed the consistent emission in the solution and film. The double‐layered device with an ITO/PEDOT/PFPAME/LiF/Al structure has a turn‐on voltage of about 5.8 V, maximum brightness of 152 cd/m2 and an electroluminescent efficiency of 0.143 lm/W, and stable blue EL emission that is not altered by increased voltage. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Green‐emitting substituted poly[(2‐hexyloxy‐5‐methyl‐1,3‐phenylenevinylene)‐alt‐(2,5‐dihexyloxy‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene)]s ( 6 ) were synthesized via the Wittig–Horner reaction. The polymers were yellow resins with molecular weights of 10,600. The ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) absorption of 6 (λmax = 332 or 415 nm) was about 30 nm redshifted from that of poly[(2‐hexyloxy‐5‐methyl‐1,3‐phenylenevinylene)‐alt‐(1,4‐phenylenevinylene)] ( 2 ) but was only 5 nm redshifted with respect to that of poly[(1,3‐phenylenevinylene)‐alt‐(2,5‐dihexyloxy‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene)] ( 1 ). A comparison of the optical properties of 1 , 2 , and 6 showed that substitution on m‐ or p‐phenylene could slightly affect their energy gap and luminescence efficiency, thereby fine‐tuning the optical properties of the poly[(m‐phenylene vinylene)‐alt‐(p‐phenylene vinylene)] materials. The vibronic structures were assigned with the aid of low‐temperature UV–vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Light‐emitting‐diode devices with 6 produced a green electroluminescence output (emission λmax ~ 533 nm) with an external quantum efficiency of 0.32%. Substitution at m‐phenylene appeared to be effective in perturbing the charge‐injection process in LED devices. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A soluble cyano‐substituted poly[(1,3‐phenylene vinylene)‐alt‐(1,4‐phenylene vinylene)] derivative ( 9 ) was synthesized and characterized. Comparison between 9 and its model compound ( 10 ) showed that the chromophore in 9 remained to be well defined as a result of a π‐conjugation interruption at adjacent m‐phenylene units. The attachment of a cyano substituent only at the β position of the vinylene allowed the maximum electronic impact of the cyano group on the optical properties of the poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) material. At a low temperature (?108 or ?198 °C), the vibronic structures of 9 and 10 were partially resolved. The absorption and emission spectra of a film of 9 were less temperature‐dependent than those of a film of 10 , indicating that the former had a lower tendency to aggregate. A light‐emitting diode (LED) based on 9 emitted yellow light (λmax ≈ 578 nm) with an external quantum efficiency of 0.03%. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Blue‐emitting poly{[5‐(diphenylamino)‐1,3‐phenylenevinylene]‐alt‐(2‐hexyloxy‐5‐methyl‐1,3‐phenylenevinylene)} ( 3 ), poly{[5‐bis‐(4‐butyl‐phenylamino)‐1,3‐phenylenevinylene]‐alt‐(1,3‐phenylene vinylene)} ( 4 ), and poly(2‐hexyloxy‐5‐methyl‐1,3‐phenylenevinylene) ( 5 ) were synthesized by the Wittig–Horner reaction. Although polymers 3–5 possess fluorescent quantum yields of only 13–34% in tetrahydrofuran solution, their films appear to be highly luminescent. Attachments of substituents tuned the emission color of thin films to the desirable blue region (λmax = 462–477 nm). Double‐layer light‐emitting‐diode devices with 3 and 5 as an emissive layer produced blue emission (λem = 474 and 477 nm) with turn‐on voltages of 8 and 11 V, respectively. The external quantum efficiencies were up to 0.13%. © 2005Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 43: 2800–2809, 2005  相似文献

Poly[(m‐phenylene vinylene)‐alt‐(o‐phenylene vinylene)]s with different contents of cis‐/trans‐CH?CH ( 3 and 6 ) have been synthesized through Wittig condensation. The polymers exhibit good solubility in common organic solvents such as toluene and tetrahydrofuran. A comparison of the optical properties has been made between 3 and its phenyl regioisomers containing either p‐phenylene or m‐phenylene units. The results show that the regiochemistry of the phenyl ring can be a useful tool for tuning the emission color of π‐conjugated polymers because the extension of π conjugation can only partially be achieved through an o‐phenylene bridge. Although both polymers 3 and 6 exhibit comparable low fluorescence quantum efficiencies (≈0.18) in solution, their films are highly luminescent, showing a broad emission band near 456 nm (blue color). Electroluminescence results show that the device of polymer 3 , which has a higher content of trans‐CH?CH linkages, is about 20 times more efficient than that of 6 . © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Diphenylaminobiphenylated stryl based alternating copolymers with phenyl or fluorene, which were expected to have a terphenylene vinylene backbone containing an (N,N‐diphenylamino)biphenyl pendant and a phenyl/fluorene/phenylene vinylene backbone containing an (N,N‐diphenylamino)biphenyl pendant, were synthesized by a Suzuki coupling reaction. The obtained copolymers were confirmed with various types of spectroscopy. The alternating copolymers showed good hole‐injection properties because of their low oxidation potential and good solubility and high thermal stability with a high glass‐transition temperature. The alternating copolymers showed blue emissions because of the adjusted conjugation lengths; the maximum wavelength was 460 nm for poly{4,4′‐biphenylene‐α‐[4″‐(N,N′‐diphenylamino)diphenyl]vinylene‐alt‐5‐(2′‐ethylhexyloxy)‐2‐methoxybenzene} and 487 nm for poly{4,4′‐biphenylene‐α‐[4″‐(N,N′‐diphenylamino)diphenyl] vinylene‐alt‐9,9‐dihexylfluorene}. The maximum brightness of indium tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylene dioxythiophene)/polymer/LiF/Al devices with poly{4,4′‐biphenylene‐α‐[4″‐(N,N′‐diphenylamino)diphenyl]vinylene‐alt‐5‐(2′‐ethylhexyloxy)‐2‐methoxybenzene} or poly{4,4′‐biphenylene‐α‐[4″‐(N,N′‐diphenylamino)diphenyl]vinylene‐alt‐9,9‐dihexylfluorene} as the emitting layer was 250 or 1000 cd/m2, respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Sodium salts of water‐soluble polymers poly{[2,5‐bis(3‐sulfonatopropoxy)‐1,4‐phenylene]‐alt‐[2,5‐bis(hexyloxy)‐1,4‐phenylene]} ( P1 ), poly{[2,5‐bis(3‐sulfonatopropoxy)‐1,4‐phenylene]‐alt‐[2,5‐bis(dodecyloxy)‐1,4‐phenylene]} ( P2 ), poly{[2,5‐bis(3‐sulfonatopropoxy)‐1,4‐phenylene]‐alt‐[2,5‐bis(dibenzyloxy)‐1,4‐phenylene]} ( P3 ), poly[2‐hexyloxy‐5‐(3‐sulfonatopropoxy)‐1,4‐phenylene] ( P4 ), and poly[2‐dodecyloxy‐5‐(3‐sulfonatopropoxy)‐1,4‐phenylene] ( P5 )] were synthesized with Suzuki coupling reactions and fully characterized. The first group of polymers ( P1 – P3 ) with symmetric structures gave lower absorption maxima [maximum absorption wavelength (λmax) = 296–305 nm] and emission maxima [maximum emission wavelength (λem) = 361–398 nm] than asymmetric polymers P4 (λmax = 329 nm, λem = 399 nm) and P5 (λmax = 335 nm, λem = 401 nm). The aggregation properties of polymers P1 – P5 in different solvent mixtures were investigated, and their influence on the optical properties was examined in detail. Dynamic light scattering studies of the aggregation behavior of polymer P1 in solvents indicated the presence of aggregated species of various sizes ranging from 80 to 800 nm. The presence of alkoxy groups and 3‐sulfonatopropoxy groups on adjacent phenylene rings along the polymer backbone of the first set hindered the optimization of nonpolar interactions. The alkyl chain crystallization on one side of the polymer chain and the polar interactions on the other side allowed the polymers ( P4 and P5 ) to form a lamellar structure in the polymer lattice. Significant quenching of the polymer fluorescence upon the addition of positively charged viologen derivatives or cytochrome‐C was also observed. The quenching effect on the polymer fluorescence confirmed that the newly synthesized polymers could be used in the fabrication of biological and chemical sensors. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The synthesis of new random poly(arylene‐vinylene)s containing the electron withdrawing 3,7‐dibenzothiophene‐5,5‐dioxide unit was achieved by the Suzuki–Heck cascade polymerization reaction. The properties of poly[9,9‐bis(2‐ethylhexyl)‐2,7‐fluorenylene‐vinylene‐co‐3,7‐dibenzothiophene‐5,5‐dioxide‐vinylene] (50/50 mol/mol, P1 ) and poly[1,4‐bis(2‐ethylhexyloxy)‐2,5‐phenylene‐vinylene‐co‐3,7‐dibenzothiophene‐5,5‐dioxide‐vinylene] (50/50 mol/mol, P2 ) were compared with those of terpolymers obtained by combining the fluorene, dibenzothiophene, and 1,4‐bis(2‐ethylexyloxy)benzene in 20/40/40 ( P3 ), 50/25/25 ( P4 ), and 80/10/10 ( P5 ) molar ratios. The polymers were characterized by 1H NMR and IR, whereas their thermal properties were investigated by TGA and DSC. Polymers P1–5 are blue–green emitters in solution (λem between 481 and 521 nm) whereas a profound red shift observed in the solid state is emission (λem from 578 to 608 nm) that can be attributed both to the charge transfer stabilization exerted by the polar medium and to intermolecular interactions occurring in the solid state. Cyclic voltammetry permitted the evaluation of the ionization potentials and also revealed a quasi‐reversible behavior in the reduction scans for the polymers ( P1–4 ) containing the higher amounts of 3,7‐dibenzothiophene‐5,5‐dioxide units. Electroluminescent devices with both ITO/PEDOT‐PSS/ P1–5 /Ca/Al (Type I) and ITO/PEDOT‐PSS/ P1–5 /Alq3/Ca/Al (Type II) configuration were fabricated showing a yellow to yellow–green emission. In the case of P4 , a luminance of 1835 cd/m2 and an efficiency of 0.25 cd/A at 14 V were obtained for the Type II devices. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly[(2‐alkyloxy‐5‐methyl‐1,3‐phenylenevinylene)‐alt‐(1,3‐phenylenevinylene)]s ( 8 ) and poly[(2‐alkyloxy‐5‐methyl‐1,3‐phenylenevinylene)‐alt‐(1,4‐phenylenevinylene)]s ( 10 ) were synthesized by the Wittig reaction to provide materials containing 45–62% cis‐vinylene bonds. The optical characteristics of 8 and 10 were compared with those of their respective isomers, 3 and 4 , the cis‐vinylene contents of which were significantly lower (9–16%). Although a greater fraction of cis‐CH?CH linkages caused the absorption maximum (λmax) of 8 and 10 to be slightly blueshifted (by ~3–6 nm) from that of 3 and 4 , the impact of the vinylene bond geometry appeared to be negligible on their fluorescence spectra. The fluorescence quantum efficiencies of 8 and 10 were estimated to be approximately 0.25 and 0.72, respectively. Both 8 (λmax ≈ 445 or 462 nm) and 10 (λmax ≈ 480 or 506 nm) were electroluminescent, showing effective color tuning by the controlled insertion of m‐phenylene moieties. The external electroluminescence quantum efficiencies were determined to be 4.26 × 10?3% for 8 and 0.63% for 10 . The cis/trans‐vinylene bond ratio had a great impact on the electroluminescence device performance of 8 but a much smaller impact on the performance of 10 . © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two new poly(phenylene vinylene)s containing m‐terphenyl or 2,6‐diphenylpyridine kinked units along the main chain were synthesized and were used as luminescent and laser materials. They were prepared from Heck coupling of 2,5‐didodecyloxy‐1,4‐divinylbenzene with 4,4″‐dibromo‐3′‐phenyl‐m‐terphenyl or 2,6‐di(4‐bromophenyl)‐4‐phenylpyridine. The kinked units along the main chain caused a partial interruption of the conjugation leading to emission at a shorter wavelength as compared with poly(p‐phenylene vinylene). The polymers presented blue‐green emission in solution and green‐yellow emission in the solid state with photoluminescence maxima at 465–497 and 546–550 nm, respectively. Polymer containing 2,6‐diphenylpyridine segments emitted at a longer wavelength than that containing m‐terphenyl and displayed higher quantum yields in solution (0.61 and 0.40, respectively). The influence of the solvent and polymer concentration on the photoluminescence characteristics was investigated. The photoluminescence properties of protonated polymer containing 2,6‐diphenylpyridine segments were investigated both in solution and in film. Amplified spontaneous emission and tunable laser action were also obtained from the two polymers. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 42: 2214–2224, 2004  相似文献

Poly(9,9‐dihexylfluorene‐2,7‐vinylene‐alt‐dibenzothiophene‐2,8‐vinylene) (PS) and poly(9,9‐dihexylfluorene‐2,7‐vinylene‐alt‐dibenzothiophene‐5,5‐dioxide‐2,8‐ vinylene) (PSO) as well as corresponding model compounds were synthesized by Heck coupling. Both the polymers and model compounds were readily soluble in common organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran, dichloromethane, chloroform, and toluene. The polymers showed a decomposition temperature at ~430 °C and a char yield of about 65% at 800 °C in N2. The glass‐transition temperatures of the polymers were almost identical (75–77 °C) and higher than those of the model compounds (26–45 °C). All samples absorbed around 390 nm, and their optical band gaps were 2.69–2.85 eV. They behaved as blue‐greenish light emitting materials in both solutions and thin films, with photoluminescence emission maxima at 450–483 nm and photoluminescence quantum yields of 0.52–0.72 in solution. Organic light‐emitting diodes with an indium tin oxide/poly(ethylene dioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonic acid)/polymer/Mg:Ag/Ag configuration with polymers PS and PSO as emitting layers showed green electroluminescence with maxima at 530 and 540 nm, respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Copolymers containing oligo(phenylene vinylene) (2.5), fluorene, and 4,4‐dihexyldithienosilole (DTS) units were synthesized and characterized. The π‐conjugated monomers were joined with the palladium(0)‐catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reaction, thus forming either biphenyl– or phenyl–thiophene linkages. These polymers were photoluminescent, with the fluorescent quantum efficiency between 54 and 63% and with λmax for fluorescence at ~448 nm in tetrahydrofuran. The presence of 5% DTS in the copolymers had little influence on the optical absorption and emission wavelengths. Double‐layer light‐emitting‐diode devices using these polymers as emissive layers had low turn‐on voltages (3.5–4 V) and moderate external quantum efficiencies (0.14–0.30%). The results show that DTS plays a positive role in improving the charge‐injection characteristics of poly(phenylene vinylene) materials. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. New poly(phenylene vinylene) derivatives with a 5‐diphenylamino‐1,3‐phenylene linkage (including polymers 2 , 3 , and 5 ) have been synthesized to improve the charge‐injection properties. These polymers are highly photoluminescent with fluorescent quantum yields as high as 76% in tetrahydrofuran solutions. With effective π‐conjugation interruption at adjacent m‐phenylene units, chromophores of different conjugation lengths can be incorporated into the polymer chain in a controllable manner. In polymer 2 , the structural regularity leads to an isolated, well‐defined emitting chromophore. Isomeric polymer 3 of a random chain sequence, however, allows the effective emitting chromophores to be joined in sequence by sharing a common m‐phenylene linkage (as shown in a molecular fragment). Double‐layer light‐emitting‐diode devices using 2 , 3 , and 5 as emitting layers have turn‐on voltages of about 3.5 V and produce blue‐green emissions with peaks at 493, 492, and 482 nm and external quantum efficiencies up to 1.42, 0.98, and 1.53%, respectively. In comparison with a light‐emitting diode using 2 , a device using 3 shows improved charge injection and displays increased brightness by a factor of ~3 to 1400 cd/m2 at an 8‐V bias. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This article describes the synthesis and characterization of a new ladder‐type poly (p‐phenylene) (LPFC) containing alkylcarbazole and dialkylfluorene units in backbone, and its optical and electrochemical properties as well as its light‐emitting device performance. LPFC shows the well‐defined structure, high molecular weights, excellent thermal stability, and good solubility in common organic solvents. And it also shows strongly blue emission (λmax = 465 nm) with quantum efficiency of 70% in solution, while its solid emission (λmax = 470 nm) is almost the same as its solution. Electrochemical studies show that the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy levels of LPFC is up to 5.29 eV, which is significantly higher than that of LPPP without carbazole in backbone, indicating an enhanced ability of hole injection from anodes. Furthermore, the single layer light‐emitting device using LPFC as the active layer shows blue emission (λmax = 470 nm) with maximum luminescence of ~ 2000 cd/m2 and maximum luminance efficiency of 0.43 cd/A. The attractive properties exhibited from new ladder‐type polymer establish LPFC as a good candidate for the potential application as transporting and emitting layer in polymeric light emitting diodes. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Soluble yellow/orange‐emitting poly[tris(2,5‐dihexyloxy‐1,4‐phenylenevinylene)‐alt‐(1,3‐phenylenevinylene)] derivatives ( 6 ) were synthesized and characterized. These polymers contained oligo(p‐phenylene vinylene) chromophores of equal conjugation length, which were jointed via a common m‐phenylene unit. An optical comparison of 6 and its model compound ( 8 ) at room temperature and low temperatures revealed the similarity in their absorption and fluorescence band structures. The vibronic band structure of 6 was assigned with the aid of the spectroscopic data for 8 at the low temperatures. 6 was electroluminescent and had an emission maximum wavelength at approximately 565 nm. With the device indium tin oxide/PEDOT/ 6 /Ca configuration, the polymer exhibited an external quantum efficiency as high as 0.25%. Simple substitution on m‐phenylene of 6 raised the electroluminescence output by a factor of about 10. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 42: 5853–5862, 2004  相似文献

Two new poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) derivatives OX1‐PPV and OX2‐PPV bearing two 1,3,4‐oxadiazole rings per repeat unit and a fully conjugated backbone with solubilizing dodecyloxy side groups were synthesized and investigated. The amorphous conjugated polymers had glass‐transition temperature values of 60–75 °C and emitted intense blue or greenish‐blue light in solution with photoluminescence (PL) emission maxima at 379–492 nm and PL quantum yields of 0.41–0.52. In the solid state they emitted yellowish‐green light with PL emission maxima at 533–555 nm. Cyclic voltammetry showed that both conjugated polymers had reversible reduction and irreversible oxidation, making them n‐type materials. The electron affinity of OX2‐PPV was estimated as 2.85 eV whereas that of OX1‐PPV was 2.75 eV. Yellow electroluminescence (EL) was achieved from single‐layer light‐emitting diodes of OX2‐PPV with an EL emission maximum at 555 nm and a brightness of 70 cd/m2. Polymer OX2‐PPV, which was functionalized with 2,6‐bis(1,3,4‐oxadiazole‐2‐yl)pyridine, demonstrated sensitivity to various metal ions as a fluorescence‐mode chemosensor. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Carbazole and fluorene‐based random and alternating copolycondensates were synthesized to develop high‐performance blue light‐emitting polymers by improving electron injection ability of poly(N‐aryl‐2,7‐carbazole)s that showed intense blue electroluminescence (EL) with good hole‐injection and ‐transport ability. These copolycondensates absorbed light energy at about λmax = 390 nm in CHCl3 and 400 nm in film state, and fluoresced at about λmax = 417 nm in CHCl3 and 430 nm in the thin film state. Energy gaps between highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) of them were about 2.9 eV, and the energy levels of LUMO situated lower than that of corresponding polycarbazole. Polymer light‐emitting diode devices having configuration of indium tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene)‐poly(styrenesulfonate)/polymer/CsF/Al using the copolycondensates, poly(N‐arylcarbazole‐2,7‐diyl), and poly(9,9‐dialkylfluorene‐2,7‐diyl), emitted bluish EL at operating voltages lower than 7 V. The device embedded the random copolycondensate showed notably higher performance with maximum luminance of 31,200 cd m?2 at 11.0 V, and the current efficiencies observed under operating voltages lower than 7 V were higher than those of the other devices. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. trans‐Poly(dimethylsilylenearylenevinylene)s (trans‐rich) and cis‐poly(dimethylsilylenearylenevinylene)s (cis‐rich) containing phenylene, biphenylene, and phenylenesilylenephenylene units were prepared by hydrosilylation catalyzed with the RhI(PPh3)3 complex. The addition of a phenylene π unit to poly(silylenephenylenevinylene) expanded the conjugation in the main chain, whereas the insertion of a dimethylsilylene σ unit in the biphenylene moiety reduced the conjugation. UV spectra of the trans‐type polymers showed redshifts and hyperchromic effects with respect to those of the cis‐type polymers, indicating wider conjugation, and the quantum yields of emission of the former polymers were much higher than those of the latter polymers. The quantum yield of the trans‐rich polymer with the biphenylene moiety reached 0.15, which was about 102 times as large as those of trans‐type polymers with phenylene (3.4 × 10?3) and phenylenesilylenephenylene (1.9 × 10?3) moieties. The effects of the geometric structure and π unit on the absorption and emission properties of these polymers were examined with molecular orbital methods. © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A series of multilayer polymeric light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs) containing an electron‐transporting layer (ETL), that is tris(8‐quinolinolato)‐aluminum(III) (Alq) and 2,2′,2″‐(1,3,5‐phenylene)‐tris[1‐phenyl‐1H‐benzimidazole] (TPBI), were fabricated by doping fluorescent oligo(p‐phenylene‐vinylene)s (BIII and BV) and polymer derivatives (PBV) into poly(N‐vinyl carbazole) (PVK). These PLEDs can be optimized by the design of multilayer device configurations (brightness increased 8–15 times by addition of ETL) and possess greenish electroluminescent (EL) spectra peaked about 500–540 nm. A remarkably high brightness of 56,935 cd/m2 with a power efficiency of 3.25 lm/W was obtained in the device of PVK:BVOC8‐OC8 (100:20)/Alq (60 nm/60 nm). It suggests that the emission mechanism (including the conjugated and excimer emissions of BVOC8‐OC8 emitters) originates from both of BVOC8‐OC8 and ETL (Alq and TPBI) by varying the concentration of chromophores and adjusting the thickness of ETL. The concentration effect of the emitters in PVK (i.e. PVK:BVOC8‐OC8 = 100:5, 100:20, and 100:100 wt %) and the influence of the ETL (including its thickness) on the EL characteristics are also reported. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An AB2 monomer PhBr2  C  C  Ph  C  CH containing one acetylene group and two bromide groups was efficiently synthesized by a strategy based on the different reactivity between aromatic iodide and bromide in Sonogashira reaction. The Sonogashira polymerization of PhBr2  C  C  Ph  C  CH was investigated to get hyperbranched poly(p‐phenyleneethynylene‐altm‐phenyleneethynylene) (hb‐PMPE) in terms of the effects of monomer addition method, core molecule with different functionality, and ratio of [monomer]/[core molecule]. The results showed that narrow dispersities (D) (D: 1.23∼1.50) were obtained by slow monomer addition and with core molecule. Bifunctional core molecule induced narrower dispersity than monofunctional core molecule. The molecular weight of hb‐PMPE increased with increasing ratio of [monomer]/[core molecule], however, a negative deviation from calculated value was observed. The dispersity slightly increased with increasing [monomer]/[core molecule]. When the ratio of [monomer]/[core molecule] was below 50/1, monomodal distribution was observed; whereas when the ratio increased to 70/1, bimodal distribution was obtained. All the polymers showed degrees of branching (DBs) around 0.6. The hb‐PMPEs showed one major absorption band with λmax around 330 nm, and emission band with λmax around 390 nm. All the polymers showed relative quantum yields (Φr) above 0.5 in dilute THF solution. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. Chem. 2018 , 56, 96–104  相似文献
