A non-isothermal experimental study using thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was conducted for investigation the oxidation reactivity of natural phosphate and its demineralised products. The analyses were carried out in oxygen atmosphere and at different heating rate (5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 60°C min-1) up to 1000°C. The results indicated that the material washed with HCl from the original phosphate, mainly apatite and carbonates of calcium and magnesium, as well as with HCl/HF, silicates minreals, had an inhibition effect during oxidation reactions of organic material. The increase of the heating rate shifted the reactions to higher temperatures. In addition, kinetic parameters were determined by assuming a single first-order kinetic model, using the Coats-Redfern method. The influences of demineralization process of natural phosphate and the heating rate were examined and discussed. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The natural phosphate and its demineralization products from Moroccan deposit were pyrolysed in a thermogravimetric analyser (TG) to examine the influence of the heating rate and mineral matter on their thermal decomposition. The heating rates investigated in the TG were 5–100°C min−1 to final temperature of 1200°C. The integral method was used in the analysis of the TG to determine the kinetic parameters. It has been found that for the natural phosphate and corresponding kerogen analysed in the TG, the increase of the heating rate shifts the maximum rate loss to higher temperature. A first order reaction was found to be adequate for pyrolysis in the range 150–600°C which was attributed to kerogen decomposition. In addition, the results indicate that the removal of mineral matter affected the kinetic parameters found for kerogen in the natural phosphate. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Non-isothermal kinetic of oxidation of tungsten carbide   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Tungsten carbide, WC, has shown dissimilar thermal behavior when it is heated on changeable heating rate and flow of oxidant atmosphere. The oxidation of WC to WO3 tends to be in a single and slow kinetic step on slow heating rate and/or low flux of air. Kinetic parameters, on non-isothermal condition, could be evaluated to the oxidation of WC to heating rate below 15°C min−1 or low flow of air (10 mL min−1). The reaction is governed by nucleation and growth at 5 to 10°C min−1 then the tendency is to be autocatalytic, JMA and SB, respectively.  相似文献

The kinetic method for the determination of phosphate microamounts was described. The developed method is based on catalytic effect of phosphate on sodium pyrogallol-5-sulphonate (PS) by dissolved oxygen. The reaction was followed spectrophotometrically by measuring the rate of change in the values of the absorbance of the oxidation product at 437 nm. The optimum reaction conditions are PS (0.44×10^-3 mol·L^-1) and HClO4 (3.6×10^-6 mol·L^-1) at 25 ℃. Following this procedure, phosphate can be determined with a linear calibration graph up to 0.23 μg·mL^-1. The interference effect of several species was also investigated and it was found that the most common cations and anions did not interfere with the determination. The developed procedure was successfully applied to the determination of phosphate in natural waters and soil.  相似文献

In this research, thermal characterization and kinetics of Karakus crude oil in the presence of limestone matrix is investigated. Thermogravimetry (TG/DTG) is used to characterize the crude oil in the temperature range of 20-900°C, at 10°C min -1 heating rate using air flow rate of 20 mL min -1. In combustion with air, three distinct reaction regions were identified known as low temperature oxidation (LTO), fuel deposition (FD) and high temperature oxidation (HTO). Five different kinetic methods used to analyze the TG/DTG data to identify reaction parameters as activation energy and Arrhenius constant. On the other hand different f(α) models from literature were also applied to make comparison. It was observed that high temperature oxidation temperature (HTO) activation energy of Karakus crude oil is varied between 54.1 and 86.1 kJ mol -1, while low temperature oxidation temperature (LTO) is varied between 6.9 and 8.9 kJ mol -1.  相似文献

Beypazari lignite was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetry (TG), high pressure thermogravimetry (HPTG) and combustion cell experiments. All the experiments were conducted at non-isothermal heating conditions with a heating rate of 10°C min?1, in the temperature range of 20–700°C. DSC-TG data were analysed using an Arrhenius-type reaction model assuming a first-order reaction. For the HPTG data the Coats and Redfern equation was used for kinetic analysis. In the combustion cell experiments the Fassihi and Brigham approach was used in order to calculate kinetic data. Finally a comparison is made between the kinetic results.  相似文献

A general computational method for obtaining complete solutions of time-dependent kinetic equations has been developed and applied to free radical-initiated reactions of alkanes with oxygen. The method has been applied to the low-temperature, peroxide-initiated oxidations of isobutane and isopentane. Using available independently measured and estimated values for the rate constants and activation parameters for each of the 20 proposed reaction steps for the oxidation of isobutane, the rates and products have been calculated for both the liquid phase and gas phase in the range of 100°–155°C. The calculated rates and products of oxidation agree with published experimental values. The oxidation of isopentane was examined by a 32-reaction model. The rate constants were estimated using values for the appropriate rate steps in the oxidation of n-butane and isobutane. The calculation of the oxidation rate and products agree with our experiments.  相似文献

The aim of the work was to determine the effect of heating rate on initial decomposition temperature and phases of thermal decomposition of cellulose insulation. The activation energy of thermo‐oxidation of insulation was also determined. Individual samples were heated in the air flow in the thermal range of 100°C to 500°C at rates from 1.9°C min?1 to 20.1°C min?1. The initial temperatures of thermal decomposition ranged from 220°C to 320°C, depending on the heating rate. Three regions of thermal decomposition were observed. The maximum rates of mass loss were measured at the temperatures between 288°C and 362°C. The activation energies, which achieved average values between 75 and 80.7 kJ mol?1, were calculated from the obtained results by non‐isothermal, model‐free methods. The basic pyrolysis behaviour of eight different biomass fuels has been tested in a thermogravimetric analyser under dynamic conditions (5, 20 and 50 °C min?1 heating rates) from room temperature up to 1,000 °C. Their decomposition was successfully modelled by three first-order independent parallel reactions, describing the degradation of hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin. Hemicellulose would be the easiest one to pyrolyse, while lignin would be the most difficult one. Experimental and calculated results show good agreement. The reactivity of the different biomass type functions of various thermal, kinetic and composition parameters are discussed. The effect of the heating rate on pyrolysis behaviour was studied, and a comparison between slow and fast heating rate reveals a small displacement of the DTG profiles to higher temperatures. The heating rate not only affects the highest mass loss rate temperature but also influences the mass loss rate value.  相似文献

The thermoanalytical curves (TA), i.e. TG, DTG and DTA for pure cephalexin and its mixtures with talc, magnesium stearate, starch and microcrystalline cellulose, respectively, were drawn up in air and nitrogen at a heating rate of 10 °C min−1. The thermal degradation was discussed on the basis of EGA data obtained for a heating rate of 20 °C min−1. Until 250 °C, the TA curves are similar for all mixtures, up this some peculiarities depending on the additive appears. These certify that between the pure cephalosporin and the excipients do not exists any interaction until 250 °C. A kinetic analysis was performed using the TG/DTG data in air for the first step of cephalexin decomposition at four heating rates: 5, 7, 10 and 12 °C min−1. The data processing strategy was based on a differential method (Friedman), an integral method (Flynn–Wall–Ozawa) and a nonparametric kinetic method (NPK). This last one allowed an intrinsic separation of the temperature, respective conversion dependence on the reaction rate and less speculative discussions on the kinetic model. All there methods had furnished very near values of the activation energy, this being an argument for a single thermooxidative degradation at the beginning (192–200 °C).  相似文献

This paper reports TL glow curve analysis and evaluation of kinetic parameter for Amarnath stone collected from Amarnath Holy Cave. TL was recorded with different heating rates (3.3, 4, 6.7, 8, and 10 ° s?1). The samples gave good TL peaks at 310, 314, 308, 323, and 327 °C for the different heating rates. The corresponding activation energy (E) values were calculated. The peaks were indicative of second-order kinetics. Samples were characterized by XRD analysis. Inductively coupled plasma activated emission spectroscopic (ICP–AES) analysis was performed to determine percentages of elements in the natural mineral. Results from ICP–AES and XRF (X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy) studies were compared.  相似文献

The effects of the inorganic matrix of the oil shale on the oxidation of the kerogen at temperatures up to 1000°C in an air atmosphere were investigated Kerogen was isolated by successive HCl, HF and LiAlH4 treatments. The initial shale and each product of every demineralization process were oxidized in a thermogravimetric system in an air atmosphere. The oxidation products were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Changes in the chemical structure of the organic material of the shale were correlated with the separated constituents of the inorganic matrix. Oxidation of the kerogen occurred in two stages. The first stage was complete at about 400°C. The oxidized product after the first stage contained a char of an aromatic ring system substituted with some aliphatic material and carbonyl groups. Calcium minerals increased the reactivity of the aromatic part of the organic material towards the oxidation reactions. Where calcium minerals were absent, mainly the aliphatic and the carbonyl groups decomposed. Silicates and pyrites did not affect the reactivity of the organic material in oxidation reactions.  相似文献

Equations have been derived to describe the chemical kinetic factors that affect the rate of formation of products when a mixture of solid components (tobacco) decomposes on heating. Using these equations, a computer model of tobacco pyrolysis has been constructed which can calculate the gas formation rate/temperature profile from a given set of reaction parameters. By comparing the predictions of the model with experimental results at heating rates between 0.8 and 25 deg C s?1, a generalised kinetic mechanism for the thermal decomposition of tobacco has been developed. For carbon monoxide and other low molecular weight gases, the mechanism is an independent formation of each gas from one solid tobacco component in each temperature region. Pyrolysis of some individual tobacco components in other studies suggests that each gas is actually produced from many components in each temperature region. This more complex mechanism is kinetically equivalent to the deduced mechanism of independent formation from one component. The region in which a given decomposition reaction takes place moves to higher temperatures as the heating rate increases. The amounts of gases formed over any temperature region from 200 to 900°C can be calculated for a given heating rate using the mechanism and the kinetic constants. The present results imply that 75–90% of the carbon monoxide produced by tobacco decomposition at temperatures up to 900°C during a puff on a cigarette corresponds to that formed in the “low temperature region” (200–450°C) defined for pyrolysis experiments at the lower heating rates of 1–10 deg C s?1.  相似文献

A sample of chalcocite of particle size 45–75 μm, has been oxidised in a TG-DTA apparatus at a heating rate of 10 deg·min−1 and the products at various temperatures characterised by XRD, SEM, FTIR and EPMA. This has enabled the events in the TG-DTA record to be assigned to specific chemical reactions, as well as the development of a full reaction scheme for the oxidation of chalcocite. Only minor reactions occurred up to 430°C, but above this temperature there was significant oxidation which resulted in an exotherm and mass gain. These events were due primarily to the oxidation of sulfide to copper(I) oxide, and the formation of copper(II) sulfate. The reaction then slowed, but melting commenced at 490°C which permitted further oxidation to take place with the appearance of a second exotherm and mass gain. By 570°C, sulfide oxidation was complete, but solid-solid reactions took place between Cu2O and CuSO4 to produce CuO·CuSO4. Some conversion of Cu2O had occurred. By 775°C, CuO and CuO·CuSO4 were the only phases detected. Above this temperature the latter phase was unstable and decomposed to the end product CuO. Thermogravimetry (TG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were used to study the thermal behaviour of the organic matter in the natural phosphate and its concentrate kerogen from the Moroccan deposit. The TG analysis showed that both the investigated samples exhibited a one-step thermal oxidation in the main mass loss area, between 160 and 540°C, attributed to the hydrocarbon material. When DSC analyses of oxidation as well as pyrolysis yielded two evolutionary stages of the hydrocarbon in this temperature range : the first one at 160-360°C and the second one above 360°C. Pyrolytic kerogen decomposition was monitored by measuring changes in the principal FTIR organic bands. The results showed, in the first stage, the progressive decrease of signals due to CH2 and CH3 vibrations as well as the carbonyl and carboxylic bands, and their subsequent disappearance at 300°C. In the second stage above 400°C, the signal due to the aromatic components (1600 cm-1) appeared but decreased with increasing temperature up to 540°C. Binders present an important part of the powder metallurgy technology as they are vital to provide efficient powder agglomeration and/or lubrication during shaping. At the same time, they have to be easily removed from the compacts during initial stages of sintering without any harmful effect for the base material, as well as for the environment. Therefore, behavior of gelatin as a binder for stainless- and tool-steel gas-atomised powder compacts was studied by thermal analysis and electron microscopy. Thermal analysis showed that peak mass-loss occurred in the range between 340 and 370 °C, depending on the base powder and heating rate. Risk for base powder oxidation at temperatures below 425 °C was detected. Based on the obtained results, it is recommended to perform debinding at ~425 °C after applying a heating rate of around 7.5 °C min?1. Only in this way efficient enough binder removal can be obtained concurrently to avoiding base powder oxidation.  相似文献

Thermal cracking of waste cooking oil (WCO) for production of liquid fuel has gained special interest due to the growing demand of renewable fuel, depleting fossil fuel reserves and environmental issues. In the present work, thermal cracking of WCO to produce liquid hydrocarbon fuels without any preprocessing has been studied. Moreover, non-isothermal kinetics of WCO using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) has been studied under an inert atmosphere at various heating rates. According to TGA result, active thermal decomposition of WCO was found to be between 318 and 500 °C. Furthermore, the temperature at which the maximum mass loss rate attained was shifted to higher values as the heating rates increased from 10 to 50 °C min?1 and the values were found to be approximately similar to that of R 50. Besides, model-free iso-conversion kinetic methods such as Friedman (FM), Kissinger–Akahira–Sunose (KAS) and Flynn–Wall–Ozawa (FWO) were used to determine the activation energies of WCO degradation. The average activation energy for the thermal degradation of WCO was found to be 243.7, 211.23 and 222 kJ mol?1 for FM, KAS and FWO kinetic methods, respectively. Additionally, the cracking of WCO was studied in a semi-batch reactor under an inert atmosphere and the influences of cracking temperature, time and heating rates on product distribution were investigated. From the reaction, an optimum yield of 72 mass% was obtained at a temperature of 475 °C, time of 180 min and a heating rate of 10 °C min?1. The physicochemical properties studied were in accordance with ASTM standards.  相似文献

Thermal behavior of commercial PVC cable insulation both before and after extraction of plasticizers, fillers and other agents were tested by TG/DTG and DSC during heating in the range 20-800°C in air. The ultrasound enhanced hexane extraction and dissolution in THF with subsequent precipitation of PVC were used to prepare 'extracted' and 'precipitated' samples. The total mass loss measured for the 'non-treated', 'extracted' and 'precipitated' PVC samples was 71.6, 66.6 and 97%, respectively. In the temperature range 200-340°C the release of dioctylphthalate, HCl and CO2was observed by simultaneous TG/FTIR. From TG results measured at different heating rates (1.5, 5, 10, 15 K min-1) in the range 200-340°C the non-isothermal kinetics of the PVC samples degradation was determined. Activation energy values of the thermal degradation processes calculated by ASTM E 698 method, for 'non-treated', 'extracted' and 'precipitated' PVC samples were 174.6±17 kJ min-1, 192.8±19 kJ min-1, 217.1±20 kJ min-1, respectively. These kinetic parameters were used for the lifetime simulation of the materials.  相似文献

A series of composite photocatalysts based on titanium dioxide deposited on the surface of a zirconium phosphate support were synthesized under different synthesis and heat-treatment conditions. The study of the photodestruction kinetics of Rhodamine C showed that the synthesized composites possess high photocatalytic activity that is competitive with the activity of a commercial Hombikat UV100 photocatalyst. The composites based on zirconium phosphate treated with isopropanol at the precipitation stage whereupon heated at 550°C exhibit the highest photocatalytic activity after heating at 750°C. It was found that such zirconium phosphate support has the largest specific surface area (270 m2/g). After heating at 550°C, the surface becomes more stable to the subsequent heating to 750°C, which is necessary for the most complete crystallization of TiO2 ensuring its high photocatalytic characteristics.  相似文献

Micro- and mesoporous carbide-derived carbons (CDCs) were synthesised from TiC powder via a gas-phase reaction using HCl and Cl2 within the temperature range of 700–1,100 °C. Analysis of X-ray diffraction results show that TiC-CDCs consist mainly of graphitic crystallites. The first-order Raman spectra showed the graphite-like absorption peaks at ~1,577 cm?1 and the disorder-induced peaks at ~1,338 cm?1. The low-temperature N2 sorption experiments were performed, and specific surface areas up to 1,214 and 1,544 m2?g?1 were obtained for TiC-CDC (HCl) synthesised at T?=?800 °C and TiC-CDC (Cl2) synthesised at T?=?900 °C, respectively. For the TiC-CDC powders synthesised, a bimodal pore size distribution has been established with the first maximum in the region up to 1.5 nm and the second maximum from 2 to 4 nm. The energy-related properties of supercapacitors based on 1 M (C2H5)3CH3NBF4 in acetonitrile and TiC-CDC (Cl2) and TiC-CDC (HCl) as electrode materials were also investigated by cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, galvanostatic charge/discharge and constant power methods. The specific energy, calculated at U?=?3.0 V, are maximal for TiC-CDC (Cl2 800 °C) and TiC-CDC (HCl 900 °C), which are 43.1 and 31.1 W?h?kg?1, respectively. The specific power, calculated at cell potential U?=?3.0 V, are maximal for TiC-CDC (Cl2 1,000 °C) and TiC-CDC (HCl 1,000 °C), which are 805.2 and 847.5 kW?kg?1, respectively. The Ragone plots for CDCs prepared by using Cl2 or HCl are quite similar, and at high power loads, the TiC-CDC material synthesised using Cl2 at 900 °C, i.e. the material with optimal pore structure, delivers the highest power at constant energy.  相似文献
