New Y‐shaped (AB2‐type) amphiphilic copolymers of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC), PEG‐b‐(PTMC)2, were successfully synthesized by the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of TMC with bishydroxy‐modified monomethoxy‐PEG (mPEG). First, a bishydroxy functional ROP initiator was synthesized by esterification of acryloyl bromide with mPEG, followed by Michael addition using excess diethanolamine. A series of Y‐shaped amphiphilic PEG‐(PTMC)2 block copolymers were obtained via ROP of TMC using this PEG with bishydroxyl end groups as macroinitiator and ZnEt2 as catalyst. The amphiphilic block copolymers with different compositions were characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and 1H NMR, and their molecular weight was measured by GPC. The results showed that the molecular weight of Y‐shaped copolymers increased with the increase of the molar ratio of TMC to mPEG‐(OH)2 initiator in feed while the PEG chain length was kept constant. The Y‐shaped copolymer mPEG‐(PTMC)2 could self‐assemble into micelles in aqueous medium and the critical micelle concentration values of the micelles decrease with increase in hydrophobic PTMC block length of mPEG‐(PTMC)2. The in vitro cytotoxicity and controlled drug release properties of the Y‐shaped amphiphilic block copolymers were also investigated. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of trimethylene carbonate (TMC) using imidodiphosphoric acid (IDPA) as the organocatalyst and benzyl alcohol (BnOH) as the initiator has been investigated. The polymerization proceeded without decarboxylation to afford poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PTMiC) with controlled molecular weight and narrow polydispersity. 1H NMR, SEC, and MALDI‐TOF MS measurements of the obtained PTMC clearly indicated the quantitative incorporation of the initiator at the chain end. The controlled/living nature for the IDPA‐catalyzed ROP of TMC was confirmed by the kinetic and chain extension experiments. A bifunctional activation mechanism was proposed for IDPA catalysis based on NMR and FTIR studies. Additionally, 1,3‐propanediol, 1,1,1‐trimethylolpropane, and pentaerythritol were used as di‐ol, tri‐, and tetra‐ol initiators, producing the telechelic or star‐shaped polycarbonates with narrow polydispersity indices. The well‐defined diblock copolymers, poly(trimethylene carbonate)‐block‐poly(δ‐valerolactone) and poly(trimethylene carbonate)‐block‐poly(ε‐caprolactone), have been successfully synthesized by using the IDPA catalysis system. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. α,ω‐Dihydroxy‐telechelic poly(trimethylenecarbonate), HO‐PTMC‐OH, is synthesized from the controlled “immortal” ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of trimethylene carbonate under mild conditions (bulk, 60 °C), using ZnEt2 or, more efficiently, [(BDI)Zn(N(SiMe3)2)] (BDI = CH(CMeNC6H3‐2,6‐iPr2)2) as catalyst precursor, in the presence of a diol HO‐R‐OH (R = (CH2)2 or CH2C6H4CH2; 0.5–10 equiv. vs Zn) acting both as co‐initiator and chain transfer agent. Alternatively, HO‐PTMC‐OH is prepared upon hydrogenolysis of HO‐PTMC‐OCH2Ph, initially prepared from the ROP of TMC using the [(BDI)Zn(N(SiMe3)2)]/PhCH2OH system, under smooth operating conditions using Pd/charcoal. Well‐defined dihydroxy‐functionalized PTMCs of molar mass ranging from = 2 000 to 109 500 g · mol−1 were thus quantitatively obtained and fully characterized by NMR, MALDI‐TOF‐MS and SEC analyses. The versatility of this “immortal” ROP allows the preparation of alike α,ω‐functional polyester such as linear HO‐poly(lactide)‐OH, as well as star polymers such as the glycerol‐based PTM‐OH3.

Poly(lactide) (PLA), poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) and poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC) homopolymers of high molecular weight were prepared using potassium‐based catalyst. Polymerizations were carried out in toluene at room temperature. The chemical structure of the polymers was investigated by 1H and 13C NMR. The physical properties investigated by GPC and DSC for the polymers obtained are similar to those prepared using tin octanoate based catalyst. Using a sequential polymerization procedure, PLA‐b‐PCL, PLA‐b‐PTMC, and PCL‐b‐PTMC diblock copolymers were synthesized and characterized in terms of their composition and physical properties. The formation of diblock copolymers was confirmed by NMR and DSC measurements. In vitro cytotoxicity tests have been carried out using MTS assay and the results show the biocompatibility of these polymers in the presence of the fibroblast cells. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. AB‐type block copolymers with poly(trimethylene carbonate) [poly(TMC); A] and poly(ethylene oxide) [PEO; B; number‐average molecular weight (Mn) = 5000] blocks [poly(TMC)‐b‐PEO] were synthesized via the ring‐opening polymerization of trimethylene carbonate (TMC) in the presence of monohydroxy PEO with stannous octoate as a catalyst. Mn of the resulting copolymers increased with increasing TMC content in the feed at a constant molar ratio of the monomer to the catalyst (monomer/catalyst = 125). The thermal properties of the AB diblock copolymers were investigated with differential scanning calorimetry. The melting temperature of the PEO blocks was lower than that of the homopolymer, and the crystallinity of the PEO block decreased as the length of the poly(TMC) blocks increased. The glass‐transition temperature of the poly(TMC) blocks was dependent on the diblock copolymer composition upon first heating. The static contact angle decreased sharply with increasing PEO content in the diblock copolymers. Compared with poly(TMC), poly(TMC)‐b‐PEO had a higher Young's modulus and lower elongation at break. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 43: 4819–4827, 2005  相似文献

In this article, we describe the synthesis of PEG‐b‐polyester star block copolymers via ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of ester monomers initiated at the hydroxyl end group of the core poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) using HCl Et2O as a monomer activator. The ROP of ε‐caprolactone (CL), trimethylene carbonate (TMC), or 1,4‐dioxan‐2‐one (DO) was performed to synthesize PEG‐b‐polyester star block copolymers with one, two, four, and eight arms. The PEG‐b‐polyester star block copolymers were obtained in quantitative yield, had molecular weights close to the theoretical values calculated from the molar ratio of ester monomers to PEG, and exhibited monomodal GPC curves. The crystallinity of the PEG‐b‐polyester star block copolymers was determined by differential scanning calorimetry and X‐ray diffraction. Copolymers with a higher arm number had a higher tendency toward crystallization. The crystallinity of the PEG‐b‐polyester star block copolymers also depended on the nature of the polyester block. The CMCs of the PEG‐b‐PCL star block copolymers, determined from fluorescence measurements, increased with increasing arm number. The CMCs of the four‐arm star block copolymers with different polyester segments increased in the order 4a‐PEG‐b‐PCL < 4a‐PEG‐b‐PDO < 4a‐PEG‐b‐PLGA < 4a‐PEG‐b‐PTMC, suggesting a relationship between CMC and star block copolymer crystallinity. The partition equilibrium constant, Kv, which is an indicator of the hydrophobicity of the micelles of the PEG‐polyester star block copolymers in aqueous media, increased with decreasing arm number and increasing crystallinity. A key aspect of the present work is that we successfully prepared PEG‐b‐polyester star block copolymers by a metal‐free method. Thus, unlike copolymers synthesized by ROP using a metal as the monomer activator, our copolymers do not contain traces of metals and hence are more suitable for biomedical applications. Moreover, we confirmed that the PEG‐b‐polyester star block copolymers form micelles and hence may be potential hydrophobic drug delivery vehicles. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A one‐step process is reported to directly synthesize blends of poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC) with a modified granular starch. Trimethylene Carbonate (TMC) ring‐opening polymerization is performed in the presence of native starch particles in bulk conditions at 150 °C and the efficiency of metal‐free organic catalysts (TBD and phosphazene superbases P1‐t‐Oct, P2‐t‐bu, and P4‐t‐bu) are investigated to replace the organo‐metallic stannous octanoate initiator. TMC monomer is successively converted into PTMC and the robustness of organic catalysts is highlighted with significant activities at very low concentrations (<100 ppm), where stannous octanoate is inefficient. Reactivity of starch toward TMC ROP is deeply investigated by NMR techniques and a starch‐graft‐PTMC is indirectly evidenced. Starch substitution degree reaches 0.9% indicating that PTMC grafting only occurs at the surface of swollen granular starch. PTMC graft length from the starch surface remained low in the range 2–12 and model ROP reactions highlight the role of TMC hydrolysis on PTMC graft length. Despite low PTMC grafts, a fine dispersion of intact starch particles into the PTMC matrix is evidenced. Consequently, metal‐free organic catalysts at low concentrations are promising candidates for synthesizing blends of PTMC with high loadings of surface‐modified starch (32% by weight) in 2 min within a one‐step process. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel biocompatible, biodegradable, four‐arm star, triblock copolymers containing a hydrophobic poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) segment, a hydrophilic poly(oligo(ethylene oxide)475 methacrylate) (POEOMA475) segment and a thermoresponsive poly(di(ethylene oxide) methyl ether methacrylate) (PMEO2MA) segment were synthesized by a combination of controlled ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). First, a four‐arm PCL macroinitiator [(PCL‐Br)4] for ATRP was synthesized by the ROP of ε‐caprolactone (CL) catalyzed by stannous octoate in the presence of pentaerythritol as the tetrafunctional initiator followed by esterification with 2‐bromoisobutyryl bromide. Then, sequential ATRP of oligo(ethylene oxide) methacrylate (OEOMA475, Mn = 475) and di(ethylene oxide) methyl ether methacrylate) (MEO2MA) were carried out using the (PCL‐Br)4 tetrafunctional macroinitiator, in different sequence, resulting in preparation of (PCL‐b‐POEOMA475‐b‐PMEO2MA)4 and (PCL‐b‐PMEO2MA‐b‐POEOMA475)4 star triblock copolymers. These amphiphilic copolymers can self‐assemble into spherical micelles in aqueous solution at room temperature. The thermal responses of the polymeric micelles were investigated by dynamic light scattering and ultraviolet spectrometer. The properties of the two series of copolymers are quite different and depend on the sequence distribution of each block along the arms of the star. The (PCL‐b‐POEOMA475‐b‐PMEO2MA)4 star copolymer, with the thermoresponsive PMEO2MA segment on the periphery, can undergo reversible sol‐gel transitions between room temperature (22 °C) and human body temperature (37 °C). © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Biodegradable poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC) networks were prepared by photopolymerization of linear (L)‐ and star (S)‐shaped PTMC macromonomers for potential tissue engineering scaffold applications. The L‐ (Mn, 6400) and S‐shaped (Mn, 5880) PTMC macromonomers were synthesized using 1,4‐butane diol and 2‐ethyl‐ 2‐hydroxyl‐propane‐1,3‐diol co‐initiated ring‐opening polymerization of trimethylene carbonate (TMC) in the presence of stannous octoate and subsequent acrylation with acryloyl chloride. Chemical structures of the PTMC macromonomers and their corresponding networks were characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The human endothelial cell line, EA.hy926 was used to test the biocompatibility, cell adhesion, and proliferation behavior of both PTMC networks. The PTMC networks made from the S‐shaped macromonomers exhibited superior cell adhesion and proliferation behavior than those made of the linear macromonomers. The ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of β‐butyrolactone (β‐BL) has been studied using the organocatalysts of diphenyl phosphate (DPP) and bis(4‐nitrophenyl) phosphate (BNPP). The controlled ROP of β‐BL was achieved using BNPP, whereas that of using DPP was insufficient because of its low acidity. For the BNPP‐catalyzed ROP of β‐BL, the dual activation property for β‐BL and the chain‐end models of poly(β‐butyrolactone) (PBL) were confirmed by NMR measurements. The optimized polymerization condition for the ROP of β‐BL proceeded through an O‐acyl cleavage to produce the well‐defined PBLs with molecular weights up to 10,650 g mol?1 and relatively narrow polydispersities of 1.19–1.39. Functional initiators were utilized for producing the end‐functionalized PBLs with the ethynyl, maleimide, pentafluorophenyl, methacryloyl, and styryl groups. Additionally, the diblock copolymers consisting of the PBL segment with the polyester or polycarbonate segments were prepared by the BNPP‐catalyzed ROPs of ε‐caprolactone or trimethylene carbonate without quenching. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Amphiphilic block‐graft copolymers mPEG‐b‐P(DTC‐ADTC‐g‐Pal) were synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization of 2,2‐dimethyltrimethylene carbonate (DTC) and 2,2‐bis(azidomethyl)trimethylene carbonate (ADTC) with poly(ethylene glycol) monomethyl ether (mPEG) as an initiator, followed by the click reaction of propargyl palmitate and the pendant azido groups on the polymer chains. Stable micelle solutions of the amphiphilic block‐graft copolymers could be prepared by adding water to a THF solution of the polymer followed by the removal of the organic solvent by dialysis. Dynamic light scattering measurements showed that the micelles had a narrow size distribution. Transmission electron microscopy images displayed that the micelles were in spherical shape. The grafted structure could enhance the interaction of polymer chains with drug molecules and improve the drug‐loading capacity and entrapment efficiency. Further, the amphiphilic block‐graft copolymers mPEG‐b‐P(DTC‐ADTC‐g‐Pal) were low cytotoxic and had more sustained drug release behavior. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We successfully synthesized poly(l ‐lactide)‐b‐poly (methyl methacrylate) diblock copolymers at ambient temperature by combining ultraviolet light‐induced copper‐catalyzed ATRP and organo‐catalyzed ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) in one‐pot. The polymerization processes were carried out by three routes: one‐pot simultaneous ATRP and ROP, one‐pot sequential ATRP followed by ROP, and one‐pot sequential ROP followed by ATRP. The structure of the block copolymers is confirmed by nuclear magnetic resonance and gel permeation chromatography, which suggests that the polymerization method is facile and attractive for preparing block copolymers. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave (MW)‐assisted ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) provides a rapid and straightforward method for engineering a wide array of well‐defined poly(3‐hydroxyalkanoate)‐b‐poly(D,L ‐lactide) (PHA‐b‐PLA) diblock copolymers. On MW irradiation, the bulk ROP of D,L ‐lactide (LA) could be efficiently triggered by a series of monohydroxylated PHA‐based macroinitiators previously produced via acid‐catalyzed methanolysis of corresponding native PHAs, thus affording diblock copolyesters with tunable compositions. The dependence of LA polymerization on temperature, macroinitiator structure, irradiation time, and [LA]0/[PHA]0 molar ratio was carefully investigated. It turned out that initiator efficiency values close to 1 associated with conversions ranging from 50 to 85% were obtained only after 5 min at 115 °C. A kinetic investigation of the MW‐assisted ROP of LA gave evidence of its “living”/controlled character under the experimental conditions selected. Structural analyses and thermal properties of biodegradable diblock copolyesters were also performed. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2012  相似文献

Two novel aluminum metal complexes ( 2 and 3 ) bearing salen ligands were in situ prepared from trimethyl aluminum (AlMe3), methanol, and (R,R)‐N,N′‐bis(salicylidene)‐1,2‐diaminocyclohexane with original synthetic strategies, and a preliminarily resoluted (R,R)‐1,2‐diaminocyclohexane was applied as a synthetic precursor. By means of Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, NMR spectrometry, mass spectrometry, and single‐crystal X‐ray diffractometry, 2 and 3 were revealed to be distinct molecular structures with corresponding yields of 85 and 10%, respectively. Further studies via 27Al NMR techniques and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction indicated that dimeric metal complex 3 appeared in the six‐coordinated state, whereas there was a dynamic equilibrium transition between the five‐ and six‐coordinated states for metal complex 2 in a CDCl3 solution. The more stable dimeric metal complex ( 3 ) exhibited two inequivalent aluminum metal centers coordinated to nitrogen atoms attributed to two different salen ligands, and this was different from the reported salen aluminum complex structures. Furthermore, 2 and 3 were employed as candidate catalysts for the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of some important biodegradable aliphatic polyesters and polycarbonates, including poly(?‐caprolactone) (PCL), poly(δ‐valerolactone), poly(trimethylene carbonate), and poly(2,2‐dimethyl trimethylene carbonate). The synthetic results indicated that both metal complexes efficiently catalyzed ROP at 100 °C in an anisole solution, and 3 showed much better controlled characteristics of ROP than 2 . Very narrow molecular weight distributions close to 1.21 for PCL were detected with 3 as the ROP catalyst. In addition, a catalytic mechanism study confirmed that ROP catalyzed by these metal complexes was in good agreement with the commonly accepted coordination polymerization reported for aluminum triiso [Al(OiPr)3] and stannous octanoate [Sn(Oct)2]. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of novel amphiphilic brush‐dendritic‐linear poly[poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate]‐b‐polyamidoamine‐b‐poly(ε‐caprolactone) copolymers (PPEGMEMA‐b‐Dmb‐PCL) (m = 1, 2, and 3: the generation number of dendron) were synthesized by the combination techniques of click chemistry, atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), and ring‐opening polymerization (ROP). The brush‐dendritic copolymers bearing hydrophilic brush PPEGMEMA and hydrophobic dendron polyamidoamine protected by the tert‐butoxycarbonyl (Boc) groups [Dm‐(Boc) (m = 1, 2, and 3)] were for the first time prepared by ATRP of poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate monomer (PEGMEMA) initiated with the dendron initiator, which was prepared from 2′‐azidoethyl‐2‐bromoisobutyrate (AEBIB) and Dm‐(Boc) terminated with a clickable alkyne by click chemistry. Then, the brush‐dendritic copolymers with primary amine groups (PPEGMEMA‐b‐Dm) were obtained from the removal of the protected Boc groups of the brush‐dendritic copolymers in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid. The brush‐dendritic‐linear PPEGMEMA‐b‐Dmb‐PCL copolymers were synthesized from ROP of ε‐caprolactone monomer using PPEGMEMA‐b‐Dm as the macroinitiators and stannous octoate as catalyst in toluene at 130 °C. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report that integrates hydrophilic brush polymer PPEGMEMA with hydrophobic polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendron and PCL to form amphiphilic brush‐dendritic‐linear copolymers. The amphiphilic brush‐dendritic‐linear copolymers can self‐assemble into spherical micellar structures in aqueous solution. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of degradable triblock copolymers, poly(trimethylene carbonate)‐block‐poly[poly(ethylene glycol)‐co‐cyclic acetal]‐block‐poly(trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC‐b‐PECA‐b‐PTMC), were chemo‐enzymatically synthesized. Cyclic acetal was introduced into a poly(ethylene glycol) segment as a degradable segment to impart a pH‐dependent degradation nature and to prevent the production of acidic degradation products. Amphiphilic polymeric micelles were successfully prepared, and the properties of the micelles were significantly affected by their chemical compositions and the molecular weights. A drug release study showed that the release rate increased as the pH of the buffer decreased due to the degradation of the cyclic acetal segments, indicating its high utility for pH‐sensitive controlled release.

Microwave‐assisted ring‐opening polymerization (MROP) of trimethylene carbonate in the presence of 1‐n‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([bmim]BF4) ionic liquid was investigated. In the presence of 5 wt % [bmim]BF4, poly (trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC) with a number‐average molar mass (Mn) of 36,400 g/mol was obtained at 5 W for only 60 min. The Mn of PTMC synthesized in the presence of [bmim]BF4 was much higher than that produced in bulk at the same reaction time. In addition, compared with those produced by conventional heating, the Mn of PTMC and monomer conversion by MROP with or without [bmim]BF4 were both higher. Thermal properties of the resulting PTMC were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry. Under microwave irradiation in the presence of ionic liquid, the polymerization could be carried out efficiently and effectively. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Amphiphilic, biocompatible poly(N‐vinylpyrrolidone)‐b‐poly(l ‐lactide) (PVP‐b‐PLLA) block polymers were synthesized at 60 °C using a hydroxyl‐functionalized N,N‐diphenyldithiocarbamate reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent, 2‐hydroxyethyl 2‐(N,N‐diphenylcarbamothioylthio)propanoate (HDPCP), as a dual initiator for RAFT polymerization and ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) in a one‐step procedure. 4‐Dimethylamino pyridine was used as the ROP catalyst for l ‐lactide. The two polymerization reactions proceeded in a controlled manner, but their polymerization rates were affected by the other polymerization process. This one‐step procedure is believed to be the most convenient method for synthesizing PVP‐b‐PLLA block copolymers. HDPCP can also be used for the one‐step synthesis of poly(N‐vinylcarbazole)‐b‐PLLA block copolymers. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. Chem. 2014 , 52, 1607–1613  相似文献

A series of well‐defined ABC 3‐Miktoarm star‐shaped terpolymers [Poly(styrene)‐Poly(ethylene oxide)‐Poly(ε‐caprolactone)](PS‐PEO‐PCL) with different molecular weight was synthesized by combination of the “living” anionic polymerization with the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) using macro‐initiator strategy. Firstly, the “living” poly(styryl)lithium (PS?Li+) species were capped by 1‐ethoxyethyl glycidyl ether(EEGE) quantitatively and the PS‐EEGE with an active and an ethoxyethyl‐protected hydroxyl group at the same end was obtained. Then, using PS‐EEGE and diphenylmethylpotassium (DPMK) as coinitiator, the diblock copolymers of (PS‐b‐PEO)p with the ethoxyethyl‐protected hydroxyl group at the junction point were achieved by the ROP of EO and the subsequent termination with bromoethane. The diblock copolymers of (PS‐b‐PEO)d with the active hydroxyl group at the junction point were recovered via the cleavage of ethoxyethyl group on (PS‐b‐PEO)p by acidolysis and saponification successively. Finally, the copolymers (PS‐b‐PEO)d served as the macro‐initiator for ROP of ε‐CL in the presence of tin(II)‐bis(2‐ethylhexanoate)(Sn(Oct)2) and the star(PS‐PEO‐PCL) terpolymers were obtained. The target terpolymers and the intermediates were well characterized by 1H‐NMR, MALDI‐TOF MS, FTIR, and SEC. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Well‐defined in‐chain norbornene‐functionalized poly(ethylene oxide)‐b‐poly(?‐caprolactone) copolymers (NB‐PEO‐b‐PCL) were synthesized from a dual clickable containing both hydroxyl‐ and alkyne‐reactive groups, namely heterofunctional norbornene 3‐exo‐(2‐exo‐(hydroxymethyl)norborn‐5‐enyl)methyl hexynoate. A range of NB‐PEO‐b‐PCL copolymers were obtained using a combination of orthogonal organocatalyzed ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) and click copper‐catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC). Ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of NB‐PEO‐b‐PCL macromonomers using ruthenium‐based Grubbs’ catalysts provides comb‐like and umbrella‐like graft copolymers bearing both PEO and PCL grafts on each monomer unit. Mikto‐arm star A2B2 copolymers were obtained through a new strategy based on thiol–norbornene photoinitiated click chemistry between 1,3‐propanedithiol and NB‐PEO‐b‐PCL. The results demonstrate that in‐chain NB‐PEO‐b‐PCL copolymers can be used as a platform to prepare mikto‐arm star, umbrella‐, and comb‐like graft copolymers. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym.
