Reactions of an amino derivative of the closo-decaborate anion [1-B10H9NH3] with aromatic aldehydes afforded Schiff bases [1-B10H9NH=CHAr] (Ar=Ph, C6H4-2-OMe, or C6H4-4-NHCOMe). A structure and kinetic stability study on some complexes with the general formula MN5, where M are the alkali-metal atoms, Li, Na, K, and Rb, has been carried by using hybrid density functional methods. Complex B (C2v) with two points of attachment to the N5 ring is the most energetically favored for all metals considered here. Pyramidal structures A (C5v) are kinetically unstable and they rapidly rearrange to the most stable planar structures B. At the QCISD(T)/6-311 + G*//B3LYP/6-311 + G* + ZPE (B3LYP/6-311 + G*) level, the decomposition barrier heights of LiN5-B, NaN5–B, KN5-B, and RbN5-B are predicted to be 19.9, 22.0, 22.5, and 23.0 kcal/mol, respectively. In addition, the rate constants of the decomposition reaction MN5-B MN3 + N2 (M + Li, Na, K, and Rb) are also predicted using conventional transition state theory and canonical variational transition state theory, respectively.  相似文献

Synthesis of five binary complex salts with an [Ir(NH3)5Cl]2+ complex cation is described. The counterions are [ReCl6]2–, [IrCl6]2–, [ReBr6]2–, and Cl. A polycrystal X-ray diffraction study has been performed for [Ir(NH3)5Cl]2[ReCl6]Cl2, and its crystal structure has been determined. A series of Ir x Re1–x phases (0.5 x > 1) were obtained by reductive thermolysis. An ab initio (RHF/6-31G*and MP2/6-31G*) study has been undertaken to investigate the spatial structure and relative stability of the acyclic isomers of acetone azine (acetone N-(1-methylethylidene) hydrazone (CH3)2C=N-N=C(CH3)2), differing in the position of multiple bonds, and of the cyclic isomer 3,5,5-trimethyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole. In the series of structures under study, the latter possesses the greatest thermodynamic stability so that formation of acyclic isomers such as 1-isopropenyl-2-isopropyldiazene, acetone N-isopropenylhydrazone, and 1,2-diisopropenylhydrazine from acetone azine is thermodynamically unfavorable. For each structure, stable conformations have been found, and the internal rotation barriers of molecules relative to the N-N, C-N, and C-C single bonds have been estimated. The noncoplanar goshconformer of acetone azine was found to possess the greatest thermodynamic stability. The acetone azine molecule is considered in comparison with model hydrazine, butadiene, and vinylamine molecules. Acetone azine is conformationally preferable not only because of steric factors, but also due to the interaction of the lone electron pair (LEP) of nitrogen atoms with adjacent N=C multiple bonds.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2004 by V. Charges on the atoms and structural parameters of the Xe(CF3)2, FXeCF3, and XeF2 molecules were calculated by the MP2(full)/MIDI(d6)&6-311G(d 6) quantum-chemical methods. The calculated energy of Xe(CF3)2 is greater by 113 kcal/mol than the overall energy of C2F6 and Xe, and the energy of FXeCF3 is greater by 108 kcal/mol than the overall energy of CF4 and Xe, the barrier to the decomposition being estimated at 40 kcal/mol. The structure of Zn3P2 (P 42/nmc, a = b = 8. 0785 Å, c = 11. 3966 Å) was solved and refined to R = 3. 2% in a precision X-ray diffraction experiment (λ-MoK a, graphite monochromator on a primary beam, 27,496 reflections) . Interatomic distances and bond angles have been determined. The fcc lattice of the structure is built from phosphorus atoms, and the zinc atoms occupy 3/4 of all tetrahedral voids; the structure is described by two equivalent models where 1/4 occupied (by zinc atoms) and 1/4 vacant voids change places. The crystal structure of Ba(VUO6)2 was determined by X-ray diffraction at 243 K: monoclinic crystal system, space group P21/c, unit cell parameters a=6.4992(6) Å, b=8.3803(8) Å, c=10.4235(9) Å, =104.749(2) °, Z=2. The structure contains close-packed [VUO6] 2 - layers formed by the dimers of the flattened U2O12 pentagonal bipyramids and by the dimers of V2O8 square pyramids. The hydrogen-bonded structures of the CH3OH complexes with CF4, C2F2, OC, Ne, and He are designated as the starting points for geometry optimizations without and with counterpoise (CP) correction at MP2 level of theory with the basis sets 6-31+G*, 6-31++G**, and 6-311++G**, respectively. Tight convergence criteria are applied throughout all geometry optimizations in order to reduce the computational errors. According to the optimizations without CP correction, a blue-shifted O–H···Y (where Y = F, O, Ne, or He) hydrogen bond exists in all these five complexes. The magnitudes of blue shifts of ν(O–H) of the former four complexes with respect to that of CH3OH are reduced greatly when the polarization and diffuse functions of the hydrogen atoms are added (results from 6-31+G* versus those from 6-31++G**). However, for the complexes CH3OH–CF4 and CH3OH–C2F2, our optimizations using the CP corrections did not find the hydrogen-bonded structure to be a stationary point. The energy minimum of both the complexes corresponds to a non-hydrogen-bonded structure.  相似文献

The reaction mechanism of the formation of alkali metal ethynides C2H2 + MOH → C2HM + H2O (M = Li, Na, K) is studied for the gas phase (MP2/6-311++G**//RHF/6-31+G*) and also with regard to the solvent effect of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) included within the continuum model. Among all acetylene complexes with alkali metal hydroxides considered (C2H2·MOH (M = Li, Na, K)), only the complex with KOH is thermodynamically stable in DMSO solution. The formation of this structure results in activation of the acetylene molecule towards electrophilic attack. The formation of alkali metal ethynide in solution is also thermodynamically favorable only in the system with potassium hydroxide of a whole series of metals considered. Further, the ethynide ion can interact in KCCK·HOH systems.  相似文献

Ab initio many-body perturbation theory (MP2/6-311++G(,dp)), density functional theory (B3LYP/6-31++G(d,p)) and self-consistent reaction field (IEF-PCM UA HF/6-31G(d)) calculations have been used to study the CO2 capture reagents NH3, 2-hydroxyethylamine (MEA), diaminoethane (EN), 2-amino-1-propanol (2A1P), diethanolamine (DEA), N-methyl-2-hydroxyethylamine (N-methylMEA), 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP), trishydroxymethylaminomethane (tris), piperazine (PZ) and piperidine (PD). This study involved full conformational searches of the capture amines in their native and protonated forms, and their carbamic acid and carbamate derivatives. Using this data, we were able to compute Boltzmann-averaged thermodynamic values for the amines, carbamates and carbamic acid derivatives, as well as equilibrium constants for a series of ‘universal’ aqueous capture reactions. Important findings include (i) relative pK a values for the carbamic acid derivatives are a useful measure of carbamate stability, due to a particular chemical resonance which is also manifest in short computed N–CO2H bonds at both levels of theory, (ii) the computational results for sterically hindered amines such as AMP and tris are consistent with these species forming carbamates which readily hydrolyse and (iii) the amine-catalysed reaction between OH and CO2 to generate bicarbonate correlates with amine pK a. Thermodynamic data from the ab initio computations predicts that the heterocycles PD and PZ and the acyclic sorbent EN are good choices for a capture solvent. AMP and tris perform poorly in comparison.  相似文献

Gas-phase electron diffraction and HF/6-31G*, HF/6-31G**, and B3LYP/6-31G* ab initio calculations were used to find that in the gas phase at 242°C the calix[4]arene [-(C6H3OH)-CH2-]4 molecule possesses a C4 conformation. Geometric parameters of the molecule were determined, and the energies of C-H?O hydrogen bonds (7.3 kcal mol?1) were estimated by the AM1 method.  相似文献

The structure of M(mda)2 (M = Be, Mg, Ca; mda = C3O2H3) bis-complexes was investigated by the ab initio Hartree-Fock method and by including electron correlation in terms of second order Möller-Plesset perturbation theory; for calculations we used triple-zeta valence basis sets complemented with polarization functions. Two most probable geometrical nuclear configurations (D 2h and D 2d ) are considered for each molecule. The structure with two mutually orthogonal chelate ligands (D 2d symmetry) corresponds to the potential energy surface (PES) minimum. The planar D 2h configuration corresponds to the first order saddle point on PES; consequently, its relative energy determines the height of the barrier to the D 2d D 2h D 2d intramolecular rearrangement. Correlation equations that relate the calculated values of equilibrium internuclear distances, force constants, and rearrangement barrier heights to the value of the ionic radius of the metal atom have been obtained. These correlations were employed to evaluate the molecular constants for Sr(mda)2 and Ba(mda)2. A method for the synthesis of the silver(I) complex with the closo-decaborate anion and triphenylphosphine [Ag2(Ph3P)2B10H10] n was developed and the structure of this complex was studied. The polymeric chain of the complex is formed with participation of Ag(I) atoms, which coordinate the B10H102− anions through the apical (B(1)–B(2), B(9)–B(10)) and equatorial (B(3)–B(6), B(5)–B(8)) edges, the metalligand bonding occurring through three-center two-electron bonds (MHB). The P atoms of two triphenylphosphine molecules are also incorporated in the inner coordination sphere of the metal: the CN of the silver atom is 4 + 1.  相似文献

The molecular structure and conformational mobility of methyl and tert-butyl esters of peracetic acid AcOOR (R = Me (1), But (2)) were studied by the ab initio MP4(SDQ)//MP2(FC)/6-31G(d,p) method and density functional B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) approach. The B3LYP calculated equilibrium conformations of the molecules are characterized by the C-O-O-C torsion angles of 93.6° (1) and 117.0° (2). Structural features of the molecules under study and a distortion of tetrahedral bond configuration at the Cα atom were explained using the natural bonding orbital approach. The standard enthalpies of formation of AcOOMe (−328.5 kJ mol−1) and AcOOBut (−440.4 kJ mol−1) were determined using the G2 and G2(MP2) computational schemes and the isodesmic reaction approach. The transition state of AcOOMe decomposition into AcOOH and formaldehyde was calculated (E a = 122.8 kJ mol−1). The thermal effects of homolytic decomposition of the peroxy esters following a concerted mechanism (Me· + CO2 + ·OR) and simple homolysis of the peroxide bond (AcO· + ·OR) were found to be 97.5±0.3 and 155.1±0.3 kJ mol−1, respectively. At temperatures below 400 K, the most probable decomposition mechanism of peroxy esters 1 and 2 involves simple homolysis of the O-O bond.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Summary High resolution TG coupled to a gas evolution mass spectrometer has been used to study the thermal properties of a chromium based series of Ni/Cu hydrotalcites of formulae NixCu6-xCr2(OH)16(CO3)×4H2O where x varied from 6 to 0. The effect of increased Cu composition results in the increase of the endotherms and mass loss steps to higher temperatures. Evolved gas mass spectrometry shows that water is lost in a number of steps and that the interlayer carbonate anion is lost simultaneously with hydroxyl units. Differential scanning calorimetry was used to determine the heat flow steps for the thermal decomposition of the synthetic hydrotalcites. Hydrotalcites in which M2+ consist of Cu, Ni or Co form important precursors for mixed metal-oxide catalysts. The application of these mixed metal oxides is in the wet catalytic oxidation of low concentrations of retractable organics in water. Therefore, the thermal behaviour of synthetic hydrotalcites, NixCu6-xCr2(OH)16CO3×nH2O was studied by thermal analysis techniques in order to determine the correct temperatures for the synthesis of the mixed metal oxides.  相似文献

Characteristic features of the structure of Ca2+ hydration shells were considered. The results of quantum chemical calculations were compared with experimental data obtained from the study of nuclear magnetic relaxation of deuterons in aqueous solutions of calcium salts. The influence of the basis set and computational procedure on the calculated 2D quadrupole couling constants (QCC) in isolated water molecule was investigated. The 2D QCC in molecular clusters (D2O)5 and Ca2+(D2O) n (n =6, 8, 10, 18) were calculated using the B3LYP/6-31++G** density functional method.  相似文献

The structural and energetic characteristics of the lowest-lying structures for isolated molecules and ions of light-metal boro-and aluminohydrides L (MH4)3, HL(MH4)2, and H2L(MH4)(L = Be, Mg, Al, Sc, Ti, V, Zn; M = B, Al) with different coordination modes of and groups were calculated by the perturbation theory (MP2), coupled cluster (CCSD(T)), and density functional theory (B3LYP) methods using the 6-31G*, 6-311+G**, and 6-311++G** basis sets. The preferable coordination modes of the ligands in these complexes, as well as the differences and trends in the behavior of the structural parameters and dissociation energies for the loss of BH3 (AlH3) molecules and BH 4 ? (AlH 4 ? ) ions were analyzed in various related series of hydroborates and hydroaluminates.  相似文献

Free P(SMe)3 molecule was studied by gas electron diffraction (GED) and by B3PW91/6-311+G* (DFT) and MP2/6-31+G* calculations. Each conformer is characterized by three dihedral angles τ(CSPlp), where lp denotes the direction of the lone electron lone pair on the P atom. DFT calculations indicate that the most stable conformer is an anti,gauche+,gauche- (ag+g-) conformer of C s symmetry; the next are the ag+g+ (ΔE = 2.5 kJ mol−1), g+g+g+ (ΔE = 5.2 kJ mol−1), and aa+g+ (Δ E = 12.5 kJ mol−1) conformers. The MP2 calculations give the similar order, with the relative energies of 0.3, 4.3, and 10.6 kJ mol−1, respectively.
