Ethanol loading in an inductively coupled plasma

Changes to the fundamental and analytical parameters of a plasma have been investigated when ethanol has been added to aqueous or organic solutions. Excitation temperature, electron number density, and intensity of the H(alpha) line increased when ethanol has been added to aqueous solutions, while an electron density decrease and signal reduction have been found when ethanol has been added to xylene. The sensitivity has been improved for all ethanol concentrations when water has been the solvent, but the reverse has been found for xylene solutions.     

Polymers from 12-hydroxymethyltetrahydroabietic acid and its vinyl and acrylate esters

12-Hydroxymethyltetrahydroabietic acid has been homopolymerized by melt condensation and homopolyester has been obtained. Vinyl 12-hydroxymethyltetrahydroabietate has been prepared from 12-hydroxymethyltetrahydroabietic acid by vinyl interchange procedure with vinyl acetate, and has been homopolymerized, copolymerized with vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate, and terpolymerized with styrene and acrylonitrile. The acrylate ester of 12-hydroxymethyltetrahydroabietic acid also has been prepared from 12-hydroxymethyltetrahydroabietic acid and acrylyl chloride. The acrylate thus obtained has been homopolymerized and copolymerized with vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate. Polymers thus obtained have been characterized.     

The structure of the alkaloid nitraramine fromNitraria schoberi

The spatial structure of the alkaloid nitraramine has been determined by x-ray structural analysis. This has shown that it has the structure of 2,1′-epoxy-1,3-propanoperhydrobenzo [3′,2′-d]-1,8-naphthyridine. Its reactivity has been studied.

推导了络合返滴定曲线方程 ,绘制了络合返滴定曲线和计算了pN突跃。并利用双曲正弦函数的性质 ,提出了内含最大敏锐指数的络合返滴定误差计算公式 ,从而获得了计算络合返滴定pN突跃范围的公式。     

Ionization probability of the hydrogen atom suddenly released from confinement

The problem of the stability of a confined atom when it is extracted from the confining cavity has been investigated, modeled by a spherical hard wall potential. The ionization probability when the atom is released from confinement has been obtained. The dependence of the ionization probability on the confinement radius and on the quantum numbers of the initial confined state has been studied. The probability density function of the ionization energy of the ejected electron has been obtained for the different cases considered. The oscillatory structure of this distribution function, with a principal maximum located in the neighborhood of the energy of the initial state and minima very close to zero has been elucidated. The sudden approximation has been applied and the analytic continuation method has been used to calculate the different stationary states.     

Synthesis and Study of Spectroscopic Properties of Imidazole Porphyrin and Its Zn(Ⅱ) Complex

A novel sensitizer with imidazole zinc porphyrin as electron donor has been synthesized. The structure has been characterized by UV-Vis, elemental analyses and 1 H NMR.UV-Vis and fluorescence spectra show that it has good light absorbing properties in the range of visible light and suggests that it has potential applications in dye-sensitized solar cells.     

The generation of polyfluoroindenyl cations : On the aromaticity of polyfluoroindenyl cations

A number of polyfluoroindenyl cations has been generated by the interaction of polyfluoroindenes with SbF₅. In particular perfluoro-2-methylindenyl cation has been generated from perfluoro-2-methylindene (“open-chain” perfluoro-2-indenylmethyl ion has not been fixed). On this basis it has been proposed, that perfluoro-2-methylindenyl cation has an aromatic character (according to the Dewar and Breslow's criterion of the aromati-city).     

Synthesis and alkylation of 2-mercapto-4-quinazolone and the fungicidal activities of the compounds obtained

A convenient method of obtaining 2-mercapto-4-quinazolone has been developed and the alkylation of its ambidentate anions has been studied. It has been found that they exhibit a dual reactivity in alkylation reactions. It has been shown that alkylated 2-mercapto-4-quinazolones possess a moderate fungicidal activity.

The effect of pH on the adsorption of anionic dye Titan yellow on the activated carbon from aqueous solution has been studied. It has been found that the Zeta potential of the activated carbon has a great effect on adsorption capacity of Titan yellow. The kinetic and the thermodynamic parameters of adsorption as a function of pH has been evaluated. The mechanism for adsorption of anionic dye Titan yellow on the activated carbon has also been discussed.     

Studies on extraction of Cu(II), Ga(III), In(III) and Tl(III) with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoylpyrazol-5-one Separation and spectrophotometric determination of copper and gallium

The extraction of Cu(II), Ga(III), In(III) and Tl(III) with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoylpyrazol-5-one (HPMBzP) from aqueous solutions has been investigated. The mechanism of extraction and the composition of the species extracted has been determined. The effect of equilibration time, various organic solvents and salting-out agents on the extraction of copper and gallium has also been investigated. The green Cu(PMBzP)₂ chelate has absorption maxima at 298 and 670 nm, and PMBzP has maximum absorbance at 290 nm. A new and sensitive spectrophotometric method for copper has been devised, based on the absorbance at 670 nm. The presence of excess of reagent does not interfere and no special treatment is necessary to destroy it. The proposed method has some advantages and has been applied for the determination of copper in various soil samples. Gallium has been separated from indium, thallium, copper, iron and many other elements. The recovery of gallium and copper was 100 ± 0.2%.     

Kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of cyclopentanone by N-bromosuccinimide

N-bromosuccinimide oxidation of cyclopentanone in acidic media in presence of mercuric acetate has been made. A zero order dependance to N-bromosuccinimide and a first order dependence to cyclopentanone and hydrogen ion concentration has been observed. Ionic strength, mercuric acetate and succinimide has negligible effect while methanol addition has a positive effect. Various rate parameters have been computed and 1,2-cyclopentanedione identified as the end product. A suitable mechanism in confirmity with the above observations has been proposed.With 2 Figures     

Structure of alline

The spatial structure of the alkaloid alline has been determined by x-ray structural analysis. It has been established that alline has a physostigmine skeleton containing one tryptamine unit.     

Jahn-Teller畸变后D2h C60--的电子结构和光谱

用INDO系列方法对C60自由基负离子进行了几何构型优化,得到D2h对称性的构型,表明C60--确实发生了Jahn-Teller畸变,导致单键变短,双键变长,形成15种键,9种不等同碳原子,其额外负电荷主要分布在赤道附近。以此构型为基础,计算了C60--的电子光谱,与实验值吻合,在对光谱进行理论指认的同时讨论了光谱红移的原因。     

Radioimmunoassay of human chorionic gonodotropin

A rapid and sensitive radioimmunoassay has been developed for the measurement of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) in serum. Human chorionic gonadotropin has been labelled with¹²⁵I to attain a specific activity between 80–120 μCi/μg. Aqueous dioxane (74 vol. %) has been employed to separate the bound and freehormone in the radioimmunoassay. The sensitivity of this technique has been found to be ∼1.5 mIU/ml of HCG. The intra assay variation has been found to be less than 5% and inter assay variation has been found to be less than 12%.     

Selective Potentiometric Measurement of Physiologically Significant Thiols

The reaction of benzoquinone with reduced thiol species has been investigated using potentiometric techniques. The specificity of this reaction for thiol functionality has been briefly assessed and the nature of the electrode response has been elucidated. The system has been characterized in terms of selectivity, sensitivity and the efficacy of using the system for the quantification of thiol containing pharmaceuticals has been demonstrated. The simplicity of the detection methodology is shown to markedly contrast alternative thiol detection strategies. The transfer of the technology to a mass production format through the adoption of screen print electrode formats has been achieved and the efficacy of the approach demonstrated. Recovery experiments using captopril and penicillamine in tissue culture as a model analyte system were performed.     

Alkaloids ofNitraria komarovii. V. Structure and synthesis of komarovicine

The new alkaloid komarovicine has been isolated from the epigeal part of the plantNitraria komarovii Iljin et Lava. Its structure has been established on the basis of spectral and experimental results and its synthesis has been performed. A transition has been made to the alkaloids komarovine and komarovidine isolated previously.     

Modification of Chemically Amplified Resists by Radical Copolymerization

Modification of a phenolic resist has been carried out by copolymerization with methacrylic monomers. Influence of irradiation source and its intensity has been studied by analyzing sensitive curves of a various resist composition. Inversion of imaging type at varying post exposure bake temperature has been investigated for resists based on copolymers containing methacrylic acid units, which has been related with crosslinking of macromolecules.     

Crystal and molecular structures of the alkaloid verdine

An x-ray structural analysis has been made with the object of reliably determining the structure of the alkaloid verdine. The position of the hydroxy group, not determined by other methods has been found and it has been established that the alkaloid verdine has the structure and configuration of 1β,3α,6α-trihydroxy-5β-jervanin-12-en-11-one.     

Synthesis and reactions of 2, 5-dimethyl-4-(3′-hydroxy-3′-methyl-1′-butynyl)-4-piperidinol

The addition of dimethyl ethynyl carbinol to the carbonyl group of 2, 5-dimethyl-4-piperidinone under the conditions of the Favorskii reaction has been studied. It has been shown that the addition takes place stereo-selectively and leads to the formation of a single isomeric acetylenic glycol. The hydration of this glycol has given a heterocyclic tetrahydrofuran with a spiran structure. The exhaustive hydrogenation of the acetylenic glycol has yielded the corresponding saturated glycol. By its cyclization a tetrahydrofuran derivative has been synthesized.
