The synthesis and unique optoelectronic features of a π‐conjugated polymer containing both thiophene and 1‐phenylphosphole sulfide units (multiple heteroles) in the main chain by the post‐element transformation of a regioregular organometallic polymer possessing titanacyclopentadiene‐2,5‐diyl unit are described. The π‐conjugated polymer containing multiple heteroles was obtained in 73% yield by the simultaneous reaction of the organotitanium polymer with sulfur monochloride and dichlorophenylphosphine (0.6 equiv each), whose number‐average molecular weight (Mn) and the molecular‐weight distribution (Mw/Mn) were estimated to be 11,000 and 3.4, respectively, by the size exclusion chromatography (SEC). The π‐conjugated polymer thus obtained was found to have the high HOMO and the low LUMO energy levels due to the electron‐rich thiophene and electron‐deficient phosphole sulfide units, respectively, as supported by its cyclic voltammetry (CV) analysis. Compared to a mixture of a polymer containing sole thiophene‐unit and that containing sole phosphole sulfide units, the π‐conjugated polymer‐containing multiple heteroles proved to exhibit interesting optical properties. For example, a specific emission peak was observed at 608 nm in the photoluminescence spectrum, which was not observed in the case of the thiophene‐containing polymer, the phosphole‐containing polymer, and their mixture. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of new functional poly(ethylene‐co‐vinyl alcohol)‐g‐polystyrene graft copolymers (EVAL‐g‐PS) with controlled molecular weight (Mn = 38,000–94,000 g mol?1) and molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn = 2.31–3.49) were synthesized via a grafting from methodology. The molecular structure and component of EVAL‐g‐PS graft copolymers were confirmed by the analysis of their 1H NMR spectra and GPC curves. The porous films of such copolymers were fabricated via a static breath‐figure (BF) process. The influencing factors on the morphology of such porous films, such as solvent, temperature, polymer concentration, and molecular weight of polymer were investigated. Ordered porous film and better regularity was fabricated through a static BF process using EVAL‐g‐PS solution in CHCl3. Scanning electron microscopy observation reveals that the EVAL‐g‐PS graft copolymer is an efficient compatibilizer for the blend system of low‐density polyethylene/polystyrene. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Four monomers based on 4‐ethynylbenzoic acid have been synthesized, one of those featuring an activated ester. With the metathesis catalytic system WCl6/Ph4Sn, these acetylenic monomers could successfully be polymerized yielding conjugated polymers with molecular weights of around 10,000 to 15,000 g/mol and molecular weight distributions Mw/Mn ≤ 2.1. Also the copolymerization of phenylacetylene or methyl 4‐ethynylbenzoate with pentafluorophenyl 4‐ethynylbenzoate as reactive unit was conducted. Polymer analogous reactions of the reactive polymers and copolymers with amines have been investigated and it was found that poly(pentafluorophenyl 4‐ethynylbenzoate) featured a significant reactivity, such that reactions proceeded quantitatively even with aromatic amines. Moreover the UV‐Vis spectra of the activated ester based polymer before and after conversion with aliphatic amines showed a change, indicating an effect on the conjugated backbone of the polymers. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of new well‐defined amphiphilic graft copolymers containing hydrophobic poly(tert‐butyl acrylate) backbone and hydrophilic poly(ethylene oxide) side chains were reported. Reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer homopolymerization of tert‐butyl 2‐((2‐bromopropanoyloxy)methyl)acrylate was first performed to afford a well‐defined backbone with a narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn = 1.07). The target poly(tert‐butyl acrylate)‐g‐poly(ethylene oxide) (PtBA‐g‐PEO) graft copolymers with low polydispersities (Mw/Mn = 1.18–1.26) were then synthesized by atom transfer nitroxide radical coupling or single electron transfer‐nitroxide radical coupling reaction using CuBr(Cu)/PMDETA as catalytic system. Fluorescence probe technique was employed to determine the critical micelle concentrations (cmc) of the obtained amphiphilic graft copolymers in aqueous media. Furthermore, PAA‐g‐PEO graft copolymers were obtained by selective acidic hydrolysis of hydrophobic PtBA backbone while PEO side chains kept inert. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ABSTRACT: Direct arylation polymerization (DAP) enabled facile synthesis of a narrow bandgap donor–acceptor conjugated polymer (PDFBT‐Th4) composed of alternating 5,6‐difluoro‐2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole and alkyl‐quaternarythiophene. The optimized reaction condition of DAP catalyzed with Pd(OAc)2/(o‐MeOPh)3P/PivOH/K2CO3 in o‐xylene led to the target polymer with a number‐average molecular weight (Mn) of 14.6 kDa without noticeable homocoupling or β‐branching defects. UV‐vis absorption spectra of PDFBT‐Th4 indicate strong interchain aggregation in films. While the C‐H selectivity and the alternating polymer structure of PDFBT‐Th4 synthesized via DAP are comparable to those of the same type polymers synthesized via Stille coupling, the batch of PDFBT‐Th4 synthesized via optimal DAP, despite its lower Mn, showed higher hole mobility in field effect transistors and larger power conversion efficiency in organic solar cell devices. These results further demonstrate the promising potential of DAP for efficient synthesis of high‐performance D‐A conjugated polymers for broad optoelectronic applications. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The synthesis of arborescent styrenic homopolymers and copolymers was achieved by anionic polymerization and grafting. Styrene and p‐(3‐butenyl)styrene were first copolymerized using sec‐butyllithium in toluene, to generate a linear copolymer with a weight‐average molecular weight Mw = 4000 and Mw/Mn = 1.05. The pendant double bonds of the copolymer were then epoxidized with m‐chloroperbenzoic acid. A comb‐branched (or arborescent generation G0) copolymer was obtained by coupling the epoxidized substrate with living styrene‐p‐(3‐butenyl)styrene copolymer chains with Mw ≈ 5000 in a toluene/tetrahydrofuran mixture. Further cycles of epoxidation and coupling reactions while maintaining Mw ≈ 5000 for the side chains yielded arborescent copolymers of generations G1–G3. A series of arborescent styrene homopolymers was also obtained by grafting Mw ≈ 5000 polystyrene side chains onto the linear and G0–G2 copolymer substrates. Size exclusion chromatography measurements showed that the graft polymers have low polydispersity indices (Mw/Mn = 1.02–1.15) and molecular weights increasing geometrically over successive generations. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of donor‐acceptor low‐bandgap conjugated polymers, that is, HThmBT (m = 3, 6, 9, 12, 15), composed of regioregular 3‐hexylthiophene segments and 2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole units, were synthesized through the Stille coupling polymerization to optimize the π‐conjugation length of the polymer and the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) effect in the polymer backbone. The polymers had relatively low optical bandgaps ranging from 1.6 to 1.72 eV. Among these polymers, HTh6BT exhibited the best device performance with a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 1.6%. Moreover, despite being based on thiophene, HTh6BT exhibited a high‐open circuit voltage (VOC) of over 0.8 V because of its low high occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy level. These results provided an effective strategy for designing and synthesizing low‐bandgap conjugated polymers with broad absorption ranges and well‐balanced energy levels. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of well‐defined amphiphilic graft copolymers containing hydrophilic poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) backbone and hydrophobic poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) side chains were synthesized via sequential reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization followed by selective hydrolysis of poly(tert‐butyl acrylate) backbone. A new Br‐containing acrylate monomer, tert‐butyl 2‐((2‐bromopropanoyloxy)methyl) acrylate, was first prepared, which can be polymerized via RAFT in a controlled way to obtain a well‐defined homopolymer with narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn = 1.08). This homopolymer was transformed into xanthate‐functionalized macromolecular chain transfer agent by reacting with o‐ethyl xanthic acid potassium salt. Grafting‐from strategy was employed to synthesize PtBA‐g‐PVAc well‐defined graft copolymers with narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn < 1.40) via RAFT of vinyl acetate using macromolecular chain transfer agent. The final PAA‐g‐PVAc amphiphilic graft copolymers were obtained by selective acidic hydrolysis of PtBA backbone in acidic environment without affecting the side chains. The critical micelle concentrations in aqueous media were determined by fluorescence probe technique. The micelle morphologies were found to be spheres. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The influence of solid‐state microstructure on the optoelectronic properties of conjugated polymers is widely recognized, but still poorly understood. Here, we show how the microstructure of conjugated polymers controls the yield and decay dynamics of long‐lived photogenerated charge in neat films. Poly(3‐hexylthiophene) was used as a model system. By varying the molecular weight, we drive a transition in the polymer microstructure from nonentangled, chain‐extended, paraffinic‐like to entangled, semicrystalline (MW = 5.5–347 kg/mol). The molecular weight range at which this transition occurs (MW = 40–50 kg/mol) can be deduced from the drastic change in elongation at break found in tensile tests. Linear absorption measurements of free‐exciton bandwidth and time‐resolved microwave conductivity (TRMC) measurements of transient photoconductance track the concomitant evolution in optoelectronic properties of the polymer as a function of MW. TRMC measurements show that the yield of free photogenerated charge increases with increasing molecular weight in the paraffinic regime and saturates at the transition into the entangled, semicrystalline regime. This transition in carrier yield correlates with a sharp transition in free‐exciton bandwidth and decay dynamics at a similar molecular weight. We propose that the transition in microstructure controls the yield and decay dynamics of long‐lived photogenerated charge. The evolution of a semicrystalline structure with well‐defined interfaces between amorphous and crystalline domains of the polymer is required for spatial separation of the electron and hole. This structural characteristic not only largely controls the yield of free charges, but also serves as a recombination center, where mobile holes encounter a bath of dark electrons resident in the amorphous phase and recombine with quasi first‐order kinetics. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of well‐defined amphiphilic star graft copolymers consisting of hydrophilic poly(acrylic acid) backbone and hydrophobic poly(propylene oxide) side chains were synthesized by the sequential reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization and atom transfer nitroxide radical coupling (ATNRC) or single electron transfer‐nitroxide radical coupling (SET‐NRC) reaction followed by the selective hydrolysis of poly(tert‐butyl acrylate) backbone. A Br‐containing acrylate monomer, tert‐butyl 2‐((2‐bromopropanoyloxy)methyl)acrylate, was first homopolymerized via RAFT polymerization using a new star‐like chain‐transfer agent with four arms in a controlled way to give a well‐defined star‐like backbone with a narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn = 1.23). The grafting‐onto strategy was used to synthesize the well‐defined PtBA‐g‐PPO star graft copolymers with narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn = 1.14–1.25) via ATNRC or SET‐NRC reaction between the Br‐containing PtBA‐based star‐like backbone and poly(propylene oxide) with 2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidine‐1‐oxyl end group using CuBr/PMDETA or Cu/PMDETA as catalytic system. PAA‐g‐PPO amphiphilic star graft copolymers were obtained by the selective acidic hydrolysis of star‐like PtBA‐based backbone in acidic environment without affecting the side chains. The critical micelle concentrations in aqueous media and brine were determined by the fluorescence probe technique. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This study was directed toward the cationic polymerization of tetrahydroindene (i.e., bicyclo[4.3.0]‐2,9‐nonadiene), a bicyclic conjugated diene monomer, with a series of Lewis acids, especially focusing on the synthesis of high‐molecular‐weight polymers and subsequent hydrogenation for novel cycloolefin polymers with high service temperatures. EtAlCl2 or SnCl4 induced an efficient and quantitative cationic polymerization of tetrahydroindene to afford polymers with relatively high molecular weights (number‐average molecular weight > 20,000) and 1,4‐enchainment bicyclic main‐chain structures. The subsequent hydrogenation of the obtained poly(tetrahydroindene) with p‐toluenesulfonyl hydrazide resulted in a saturated alicyclic hydrocarbon polymer with a relatively high glass transition (glass‐transition temperature = 220 °C) and improved pyrolysis temperature (10% weight loss at 480 °C). The new diene monomer was randomly copolymerized with cyclopentadiene at various feed ratios in the presence of EtAlCl2 to give novel cycloolefin copolymers, which were subsequently hydrogenated into alicyclic copolymers with variable glass‐transition temperatures (70–220 °C). © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel ladder‐type conjugated polymers, fused poly (benzopentalene) derivatives, were synthesized from the readily accessible 1,4‐dibromo‐2,5‐diethynylbenzene derivatives by the Pd‐catalyzed self‐polycondensation in one‐step with high yields. The low solubility of the ladder structure was suggested when the triisopropylsilyl substituents were selected. However, when longer alkyl chains were introduced into the peripheral moieties, such as the dialkylanilino (DAA) and alkyloxyphenyl groups, a high solubility was achieved and the number‐average molecular weight (Mn) reached 18,000. The UV‐Vis absorption spectral shapes of the polymers were similar to the reported dibenzopentalene derivatives, except for the bathochromically shifted end absorptions. This result suggests an extension of the π‐conjugated systems due to the polymerization. Moreover, the almost defect‐free structure of the ladder‐type polymers was confirmed by the quantitative tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) addition to the DAA‐activated alkynes. The titration experiments of TCNE to the polymers revealed the number of terminal alkynes, which enabled us to calculate the molecular weight of the polymers. The calculated molecular weight was consistent with that determined by GPC. After the TCNE addition, the polymer band gaps reasonably decreased as suggested by the UV‐Vis‐NIR absorption and electrochemical measurements. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. For the purpose of developing poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT) based copolymers with deep‐lying highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) levels for polymer solar cells with high open‐circuit voltage (Voc), we report a combined approach of random incorporation of 3‐cyanothiophene (CNT) and 3‐(2‐ethylhexyl)thiophene (EHT) units into the P3HT backbone. This strategy is designed to overcome CNT content limitations in recently reported P3HT‐CNT copolymers, where incorporation of more than 15% of CNT into the polymer backbone leads to impaired polymer solubility and raises the HOMO level. This new approach allows incorporation of a larger CNT content, reaching even lower‐lying HOMO levels. Importantly, a very low HOMO level of ?5.78 eV was obtained, representing one of the lowest HOMO values for exclusively thiophene‐based polymers. Lower HOMO levels result in higher Voc and higher power conversion efficiencies (PCE) compared to the previously reported P3HT‐CNT copolymers containing only 3‐hexylthiophene and CNT units. As a result, solar cells based on P3HT‐CNT‐EHT(15:15) , which contains 70% of P3HT, 15% of CNT and 15% of EHT, yield a Voc of 0.83 V in blends with PC61BM while preserving high fill factor (FF) and high short‐circuit current density (Jsc), resulting in 3.6% PCE. Additionally, we explored the effect of polymer number‐average molecular weight (Mn) on the optoelectronic properties and solar cell performance for the example of P3HT‐CNT‐EHT(15:15). The organic photovoltaic (OPV) performance improves with polymer Mn increasing from 3.4 to 6.7 to 9.6 kDa and then it declines as Mn further increases to 9.9 and to 16.2 kDa. The molecular weight study highlights the importance of not only the solar cell optimization, but also the significance of individual polymer properties optimization, in order to fully explore the potential of any given polymer in OPVs. The broader ramification of this study lies in potential application of these high band gap copolymers with low‐lying HOMO level in the development of ternary blend photovoltaics as well as tandem OPV. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of soluble donor‐acceptor conjugated polymers comprising of phenothiazine donor and various benzodiazole acceptors (i.e., benzothiadiazole, benzoselenodiazole, and benzoxadiazole) sandwiched between hexyl‐thiophene linkers were designed, synthesized, and used for the fabrication of polymer solar cells (PSC). The effects of the benzodiazole acceptors on the thermal, optical, electrochemical, and photovoltaic properties of these low‐bandgap (LBG) polymers were investigated. These LBG polymers possessed large molecular weight (Mn) in the range of 3.85?5.13 × 104 with high thermal decomposition temperatures, which demonstrated broad absorption in the region of 300?750 nm with optical bandgaps of 1.80?1.93 eV. Both the HOMO energy level (?5.38 to ?5.47 eV) and LUMO energy level (?3.47 to ?3.60 eV) of the LBG polymers were within the desirable range of ideal energy level. Under 100 mW/cm2 of AM 1.5 white‐light illumination, bulk heterojunction PSC devices containing an active layer of electron donor polymers mixed with electron acceptor [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61‐butyric acid methyl ester (PC61BM) or [6,6]‐phenyl‐C71‐butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM) in different weight ratios were investigated. The best performance of the PSC device was obtained by using polymer PP6DHTBT as an electron donor and PC71BM as an acceptor in the weight ratio of 1:4, and a power conversion efficiency value of 1.20%, an open‐circuit voltage (Voc) value of 0.75 V, a short‐circuit current (Jsc) value of 4.60 mA/cm2, and a fill factor (FF) value of 35.0% were achieved. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The use of selective interactions between conjugated polymers and single‐walled carbon nanotubes has emerged as a promising method for the separation of nanotubes by electronic type. Although much attention has been devoted to investigating polyfluorenes and their ability to disperse semiconducting carbon nanotubes under specific conditions, other polymer families, such as poly(2,7‐carbazole)s, have been relatively overlooked. Poly(2,7‐carbazole)s have been shown to also preferentially interact with semiconducting carbon nanotubes, however a detailed investigation of polymer parameters, such as molecular weight, has not been performed. We have prepared seven different molecular weights of a poly(2,7‐carbazole), from short chain oligomers to high molecular weight polymers, and have investigated their effectiveness at dispersing semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotubes. Although all polymer chain lengths were able to efficiently exfoliate carbon nanotube bundles using a mild dispersion protocol, only polymers above a certain threshold molecular weight (Mn ~ 27 kDa) were found to exhibit complete selectivity for semiconducting nanotubes, with no observable signals from metallic species. Additionally, we found the quality of separation to be strongly dependent on the ratio of polymer to carbon nanotube. Contrary to previous reports, we have found that an excess of poly(2,7‐carbazole) leads to incomplete removal of metallic carbon nanotubes. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Polyesters and polyethers containing norbornadiene (NBD) and 1,2,3‐triazole units in the main chain are prepared by step growth polymerization of diester or diether NBD‐based dialkynes with different aromatic diazides using copper‐catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition. The solubility and the physical properties of the resulting polytriazoles are investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, size exclusion chromatography, and 1H NMR spectroscopy, and are discussed taking into account of the chemical structures of the monomers. All of them are amorphous with glass transition temperatures ranging from 51 to 117 °C, number average molecular weight (Mn) values from 16 to 43 kDa and thermal degradation (Td10) values from 175 to 292 °C. The photochemical valence isomerization (PVI) of the NBD units into quadricyclanes (QC) is investigated using UV–vis spectroscopy of polymer films spin‐coated onto quartz substrates. For the first time the PVI of NBD into QC is demonstrated by 1H NMR spectroscopy. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. Chem. 2014 , 52, 223–231  相似文献

New hyperbranched hydrophobic cross‐linkers with peripheral azide groups were synthesized as follows: First, star‐shaped polycaprolactones (sPCL) were synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization of caprolactone in the presence of pentaerythritol and tin (II) octoate. In the next step, sequential acrylation, Micheal addition, tosylation, and azidation by acryloyl chloride, diethanol amine, tosyl chloride, and sodium azide were respectively exploited to synthesize azide‐functionalized hyperbranched star‐shaped polycaprolactones which were named sPCL‐acrylate‐diethanolamine‐azide (sPCL‐AC‐DEA‐N3) and sPCL‐acrylate‐diethanolamine‐acrylate‐diethanolamine‐azide (sPCL‐AC‐DEA‐AC‐N3). All steps were thoroughly characterized by FT‐IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The GPC analysis showed that the molecular weight of sPCL increased after two azide functionalizations. Amphiphilic hydrogels based on sPCL‐AC‐DEA‐N3 (Mn = 8130 g/mol) and sPCL‐AC‐DEA‐AC‐N3 (Mn = 10112 g/mol) with linear alkyne‐terminated polyethylene glycols (PEG) (Mn = 2000, 4000, and 6000 g/mol) were synthesized through click coupling between azide and alkyne groups. In both hydrogels, the swelling ratio increased by increasing the molecular weight of PEG. The obtained results showed that the branching of the cross‐linker, significantly affected the swelling ratio of hydrogels. For instance, the swelling ratio of sPCL‐AC‐DEA‐AC‐N3 and PEG‐6000 (Q = 900) was higher than sPCL‐AC‐DEA‐N3 and PEG‐6000 (Q = 600). Despite the high cross‐linking density of sPCL‐AC‐DEA‐AC‐DEA‐N3–based hydrogels, the amount of released theophylline was higher than sPCL‐AC‐DEA‐N3–based hydrogels, due to the high content of PEG in these hydrogels.  相似文献

A series of well‐defined graft copolymers with a polyallene‐based backbone and polystyrene side chains were synthesized by the combination of living coordination polymerization of 6‐methyl‐1,2‐heptadien‐4‐ol and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of styrene. Poly(alcohol) with polyallene repeating units were prepared via 6‐methyl‐1,2‐heptadien‐4‐ol by living coordination polymerization initiated by [(η3‐allyl)NiOCOCF3]2 firstly, followed by transforming the pendant hydroxyl groups into halogen‐containing ATRP initiation groups. Grafting‐from route was employed in the following step for the synthesis of the well‐defined graft copolymer: polystyrene was grafted to the backbone via ATRP of styrene. The cleaved polystyrene side chains show a narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn = 1.06). This kind of graft copolymer is the first example of graft copolymer via allene derivative and styrenic monomer. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel hexa‐armed and pyrene (Pyr) end‐capped phosphazene dendrimer [N3P3‐(Pyr)6] and star polymer with poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) arms [N3P3‐(PCL‐Pyr)6] were prepared via two series of reactions. In these series, core‐first approach was used starting from a hexa‐hydroxy functional phosphazene derivative (N3P3‐(OH)6). It was used as an initiator in the ring‐opening polymerization of ε‐caprolactone to prepare a hexa‐armed PCL star polymer (N3P3‐(PCL‐OH)6). Hydroxyl functionalities of N3P3‐(OH)6 and N3P3‐(PCL‐OH)6 were then successfully converted into bromide and azide, in turn. Further end‐group modifications of azide functional dendrimer precursor (N3P3‐(N3)6) and star polymer (N3P3‐(PCL‐N3)6) were achieved quantitatively via the Cu(I) catalyzed click reaction between azide functional groups and 1‐ethynyl pyrene in the final step. Moreover, the pyrene end‐capped phosphazene dendrimer and star polymer were used in noncovalent functionalization of multiwalled carbon nanotubes. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This contribution presents the synthesis of helical alkyne‐terminated polymers using a functionalized Nickel complex to initiate the polymerization of menthylphenyl isocyanides. The resulting polymers display low dispersities and controlled molecular weights. Copper‐catalyzed azide/alkyne cycloadditions (CuAAC) are performed to attach various azide‐containing compounds to the polymer termini. After azido‐phosphonate moiety attachment the polymer displays a signal at 25.4 ppm in the 31P NMR spectrum demonstrating successful end‐group functionalization. End‐group functionalization of a fluorescent dye allows to determine the functionalization yield as 89% (±8). Successful ligation of an azide‐functionalized peptide sequence (MKLA = 1547 g/mol) increases the Mn from 5100 for the parent polymer to 6700 for the bioconjugate as visualized by GPC chromatography. Analysis by CD spectroscopy confirms that the helical conformation of the poly(isocyanide) block in the peptide–polymer conjugate is maintained after postpolymerization modification. These results demonstrate an easy, generalizable, and versatile strategy toward mono‐telechelic helical polymers. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym.
