Reactions of fresh M(OH)2 (M = Zn2+, Cd2+) precipitate and (RS)-2-methylglutaric acid (H2MGL), 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy), or 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) in aqueous solution at 50°C afforded four new metal–organic complexes [Zn2(bipy)2(H2O)2(MGL)2] (1), [Zn2(phen)2(H2O)(MGL)2] (2), [Cd(bipy)(H2O)(MGL)] · 3H2O (3), and [Cd(phen)(H2O)(MGL)] · 2H2O (4), which were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectra, TG/DTA analysis as well as fluorescence spectra. In 1, the [Zn(bipy)(H2O)]2+ moieties are linked by R- and S-2-methylglutarate anions to build up the centrosymmetric dinuclear [Zn2(bipy)2(H2O)2(MGL)2] molecules. In 2, the 1-D ribbon-like chains [Zn2(phen)2(H2O)(MGL)2] n can be visualized as from centrosymmetric dinuclear [Zn2(phen)2(H2O)2(MGL)2] units sharing common aqua ligands. Both 3 and 4 exhibit 1-D chains resulting from [Cd(bipy)(H2O)]2+ and [Cd(phen)(H2O)]2+, respectively, bridged alternately by R- and S-2-methylglutarate anions in bis-chelating fashion. The intermolecular and interchain π···π stacking interactions form supramolecular assemblies in 1 and 1-D chains in 24 into 2-D layers. The hydrogen bonded lattice H2O molecules are sandwiched between 2-D layers in 3 and 4. Fluorescence spectra of 14 exhibit LLCT π → π* transitions.  相似文献

Three new nickel(II) complexes formulated as [Ni2(1,3‐tpbd)(diimine)2(H2O)2]4+ [1,3‐tpbd = N,N,N′,N′‐tetrakis(2‐pyridylmethyl)benzene‐1,3‐diamine, where diimine is an N,N‐donor heterocyclic base like 1,10‐phenanthroline (phen),2,2′‐bipyridine (bpy), 4,5‐diazafluoren‐9‐one (dafo)], have been synthesized and structurally characterized by X‐ray crystallography: [Ni2(1,3‐tpbd)(phen)2(H2O)2]4+ (1), [Ni2(1,3‐tpbd)(bpy)2(H2O)2]4+(2) and [Ni2(1,3‐tpbd)(dafo)2(H2O)2]4+ (3). Single‐crystal diffraction reveals that the metal atoms in the complexes are all in a distorted octahedral geometry and in a trans arrangement around 1,3‐tpbd ligand. The interactions of the three complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT‐DNA) have been investigated by UV absorption, fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism and viscosity. The apparent binding constant (Kapp) values are calculated to be 1.91 × 105 m ?1 for 1, 1.18 × 105 m ?1 for 2, and 1.35 × 105 m ?1 for 3, following the order 1 > 3 > 2. The higher DNA binding affinity of 1 is due to the involvement in partial insertion of the phen ring between the DNA base pairs. A decrease in relative viscosities of DNA upon binding to 1–3 is consistent with the DNA binding affinities. These complexes efficiently display oxidative cleavage of supercoiled DNA in the presence of H2O2 (250 µ m ), with 3 exhibiting the highest nuclease activity. The rate constants for the conversion of supercoiled to nicked DNA are 5.28 × 10?5 s?1 (for 1), 6.67 × 10?5 s?1 (for 2) and 1.39 × 10?4 s?1 (for 3), also indicating that complex 3 shows higher catalytic activity than 1 and 2. Here the nuclease activity is not readily correlated to binding affinity. The inhibitory effect of complexes 1–3 on thioredoxin reductase has also been examined. The IC50 values are calculated to be 26.54 ± 0.57, 31.03 ± 3.33 and 8.69 ± 2.54 µ m , respectively, showing a more marked inhibitory effect on thioredoxin reductase by complex 3 than the other two complexes. Phenylhydrazine (R) quantitatively reduces [Fe2(μ-O)(phen)4(H2O)2]4+ (1) (phen?=?1,10-phenanthroline) and its conjugate base [Fe2(μ-O)(phen)4(H2O)(OH)]3+ (2) to [Fe(phen)3]2+ in presence of excess 1,10-phenanthroline in the pH range 4.12–5.55. Oxidation products of phenylhydrazine are dinitrogen and phenol. The reaction proceeds through two parallel paths: 1?+?R?→?products (k 1), 2?+?R?→?products (k 2); neither RH+ nor the doubly deprotonated conjugate base of the oxidant, [Fe2(μ-O)(phen)4(OH)2]2+ (3) is kinetically reactive though both are present in the reaction media. At 25.0°C, I?=?1.0?M (NaNO3), the rate constants are k 1?=?425?±?10?M?1?s?1 and k 2?=?103?±?5?M?1?s?1. An inner-sphere, one-electron, rate-limiting step is proposed.  相似文献

Examined in this study is the kinetics of a net 2e transfer between [Fe2(μ‐O)(phen)4(H2O)2]4+ ( 1 ) and its hydrolytic derivatives [Fe2(μ‐O)(phen)4(H2O)(OH)]3+ ( 2 ) and [Fe2(μ‐O)(phen)4(OH)2]2+ ( 3 ) with in aqueous media and in presence of excess 1,10‐phenanthroline (phen). The reaction is quantitative with a 1 : 1 stoichiometry between the oxidant and reductant to produce ferroin ([Fe(phen)3]2+) and . The order of reactivity of the oxidant species is 1 > 2 > 3 , in agreement with the progressive cationic charge reduction. The reactions appear to be inner‐sphere where the initial one‐electron proton‐coupled redox (1e, 1H+; electroprotic) seems to be rate‐determining.  相似文献

The electrochemical behavior of aquabis(1,10‐phenanthroline)copper(II) perchlorate [Cu(H2O)(phen)2]·2ClO4, where phen=1,10‐phenanthroline, on binding to DNA at a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and in solution, was described. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) results showed that [Cu(H2O)(phen)2]2+ had excellent electrochemical activity on the GCE with a couple of quasi‐reversible redox peaks. The interaction mode between [Cu(H2O)(phen)2]2+ and double‐strand DNA (dsDNA) was identified to be intercalative binding. An electrochemical DNA biosensor was developed with covalent immobilization of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) probe for single‐strand DNA (ssDNA) on the modified GCE. Numerous factors affecting the probe immobilization, target hybridization, and indicator binding reactions were optimized to maximize the sensitivity and speed of the assay. With this approach, a sequence of the HIV could be quantified over the range from 7.8×10?9 to 3.1×10?7 mol·L?1 with a linear correlation of γ=0.9987 and a detection limit of 1.3×10?9 mol·L?1.  相似文献

The rhenium(II) dinitrosyl and mononitrosyl complexes, i.e. [Re(NO)2(CN)4]·(Phen)2·2H2O (1) and PhenH[Re(NO)(CN)4(H2O)]·(Phen)·3H2O (2) have been isolated and characterized. The X-ray crystal structure of 2 reveals that Re(II) is octahedrally coordinated with one nitrosyl, four cyanides, and one water, with one phenanthroline protonated to compensate the charge of the Re(II) center. The crystal structure shows chemically significant non-covalent interactions like hydrogen bonding involving the uncoordinated water and ππ interactions between phenanthrolinium and phen. The structures of both complexes have been optimized by DFT. Absorption and emission spectral studies and viscosity measurements indicate that both 1 and 2 interact with calf thymus DNA through partial intercalation of DNA bases. The intrinsic-binding constants, obtained from UV–vis spectroscopic studies, are 1.2?×?104 and 7.2?×?104?M?1 for 1 and 2, respectively. Both 1 and 2 are capable of inducing cleavage of plasmid DNA in the presence of H2O2 to form the supercoiled form to nicked circular form. The spectroscopic results of DNA binding are supported by molecular docking studies.  相似文献

A series of transition metal coordination polymers [Co(H3L)2(4,4′- bpy)(H2O)2]n?n(4,4′-bpy) (1), [Ni(H2L)(4,4′-bpy)(H2O)2]n (2), [Co2(L)(phen)2(H2O)4]n?(H2O)2n (3), and [Ni2(L)(phen)2(H2O)4]n?(H2O)2n (4) have been assembled from a semirigid multicarboxylate ligand 3,3′-(1,4-phenylenebis(oxy))diphthalic acid (H4L) with the help of 4,4′-bipyridine (4,4′-bpy) ligand or 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand. X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 crystallizes in the space group of P − 1 and displays a one-dimensional (1D) chain structure constructed from 4,4′-bpy ligand and H3L ligand, which was further interlinked to form a three-dimensional network via hydrogen bonds. In complex 2, Ni(II) atoms are coordinated by L ligand in monodentate fashion to form alternate left- and right-helices, which are further bridged together by the coordination interactions between Ni(II) atoms and 4,4′-bpy, leading to a 2-fold (4, 4)-connected interpenetrating network. Isostructural complexes 3 and 4 belong to the space group P − 1 and display a 1D chain structure constructed from phen and L ligands, which was further interlinked to form a 2D plane via π–π interactions. In addition, their thermal and luminescent properties were also investigated.  相似文献

{[CdCl(2,2′-bipy)2(H2O)]+·[Cd(3-O?-2,7-NDS)(2,2′-bipy)2]?·3H2O} (1) and {[Cd(phen)3]2+·2[Cd(3-O?-2,7-NDS)(phen)2]?·8.5H2O} (2) (3-OH-2,7-NDS?=?3-hydroxy-2,7-naphthalenedisulfonate, phen?=?1,10-phenanthroline, and 2,2′-bipy?=?2,2′-bipydine) were prepared and characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Compound 1 contains a discrete coordination cation [CdCl(2,2′-bipy)2(H2O)]+ and a coordination anion [Cd(3-O?-2,7-NDS)(2,2′-bipy)2]?; 2 contains a discrete coordination cation [Cd(phen)3]2+ and two coordination anions [Cd(3-O?-2,7-NDS)(phen)2]?. There are numerous weak interactions among the coordination cation, coordination anion, and free water molecules, such as O–H?···?O hydrogen bonds, π?···?π stacking, and Cl??···?π interactions in 1 and π?···?π stacking and C–H?···?π interactions in 2. The cations and anions as building blocks are connected to construct different 3-D supramolecular architectures via weak intermolecular interactions. Particularly, the capsule structure of 1 was observed.  相似文献

Reactions of copper salts, zoledronic acid, and 2,2′-bipyridine/1,10-phenanthroline in aqueous ethanolic solutions afforded four phosphonate oxygen-bridged copper complexes, Cu(bipy)(H4zdn)(HSO4) (1), [Cu2(bipy)2(H2zdn)(H2O)(Cl)]·4H2O (2), [Cu2(phen)2(H2zdn)(H2O)(Cl)]·2.5H2O (3), and [Cu3(bipy)3(H4zdn)(H2zdn)(SO4)]·5H2O (4) (H5zdn = zoledronic acid, bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline). The copper centers of 14 have square pyramidal coordination geometries. The Cu(II) ions are coordinated to bipy/phen, zoledronate, and HSO4?/Cl? forming mononuclear units for 1, dinuclear for 2 and 3, and trinuclear for 4. These building units are further extended into 3-D supramolecular networks via multiple hydrogen bond interactions. Temperature-dependent magnetic properties of 2 and 4 suggest weak antiferromagnetic coupling (J = ?4.53(8) cm?1 for 2, J = ?1.69(4) cm?1 for 4). The antitumor activity of 2 was evaluated against the human lung cancer cell line and indicates effective time- and dose-dependent cytotoxic effects.  相似文献

The title compound, [Mn(C12H8N2)2(H2O)2](C4H4O4S)·[Mn(C4H4O4S)(C12H8N2)2]·13H2O, contains one dianion of thiodiglycolic acid (tdga2−) and two independent manganese(II) moieties, viz. [Mn(phen)2(H2O)2]2+ and [Mn(tdga)(phen)2], where phen is 1,10‐phenanthroline. The MnII atoms are octahedrally coordinated by four N atoms of two bidentate phen ligands [Mn—N = 2.240 (2)–2.3222 (19) Å] and either two water O atoms or two tdga carboxyl O atoms [Mn—O = 2.1214 (17)–2.1512 (17) Å]. The tdga ligand chelates as an O,O′‐bidentate ligand, forming an eight‐membered ring with one Mn atom. The free tdga2− dianion is hydrogen bonded to an [Mn(phen)2(H2O)2]2+ ion, with O⋯O distances of 2.606 (2) and 2.649 (2) Å. The crystal structure is further stabilized by an extensive network of hydrogen bonds involving 13 water molecules.  相似文献

Two new complexes [Zn2(phen)4(FCA)2](ClO4)2·(H2O)2 ( 1 ) and [Co2(phen)4 (FCA)2](ClO4)2·(H2O)2 (2) (FCA=anion of 3‐ferrocenyl‐2‐crotonic acid, phen=1,10‐phenanthroline) have been synthesized, and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV‐Vis spectra, thermal analyses, and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Two M(II) (M=Zn or Co) ions are bridged by two FCA anions with syn‐anti bridging ligands, leading to dimeric cores, [M2(phen)4(FCA)2]2+, and each M(II) ion is six‐coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry by two chelate phen ligands and two μ2‐carboxylate oxygen atoms from two FCA groups. The M(II)…M(II) intradimer distances are 0.4391 and 0.4462 nm in 1 and 2 , respectively. Electrochemical properties of the complexes have been discussed.  相似文献

Reactions of a freshly prepared Zn(OH)2‐2x(CO3)x · yH2O precipitate, phenanthroline with azelaic and sebacic acid in CH3OH/H2O afforded [Zn(phen)(C9H15O4)2] ( 1 ) and [Zn2(phen)2(H2O)2(C10H16O4)2] · 3H2O ( 2 ), respectively. They were structurally characterized by X‐ray diffraction methods. Compound 1 consists of complex molecules [Zn(phen)(C9H15O4)2] in which the Zn atoms are tetrahedrally coordinated by two N atoms of one phen ligand and two O atoms of different monodentate hydrogen azelaato groups. Intermolecular C(alkyl)‐H···π interactions and the intermolecular C(aryl)‐H···O and O‐H···O hydrogen bonds are responsible for the supramolecular assembly of the [Zn(phen)(C9H15O4)2] complexes. Compound 2 is built up from crystal H2O molecules and the centrosymmetric binuclear [Zn2(phen)2(H2O)2(C10H16O4)2] complex, in which two [Zn(phen)(H2O)]2+ moieties are bridged by two sebacato ligands. Through the intermolecular C(alkyl)‐H···O hydrogen bonds and π‐π stacking interactions, the binuclear complex molecules are assembled into layers, between which the lattice H2O molecules are sandwiched. The kinetics of oxidation of the chromium(III) complexes, [Cr(Ino)(H2O)5]3+ and [Cr(Ino)(Gly)(H2O)3]2+ (Ino?=?Inosine and Gly?=?Glycine) involving a ligands of biological significance by N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) in aqueous solution to chromium(VI) have been studied spectrophotometrically over the 25–45°C range. The reaction is first order with respect to both [NBS] and [Cr], and increases with pH over the 6.64–7.73 range in both cases. The experimental rate law is consistent with a mechanism in which the hydroxy complexes [Cr(Ino)(H2O)4(OH)]2+ and [Cr(Ino)(Gly)(H2O)2(OH)]+ are significantly more reactive than their conjugate acids. The value of the intramolecular electron transfer rate constant, k 1, for the oxidation of the [Cr(Ino)(H2O)5]3+ (6.90?×?10?4?s?1) is lower than the value of k 2 (9.66?×?10?2?s?1) for the oxidation of [Cr(Ino)(Gly)(H2O)2]2+ at 35°C and I?=?0.2?mol?dm?3. The activation parameters have been calculated. Electron transfer apparently takes place via an inner-sphere mechanism.  相似文献

Rare‐Earth‐Metal Coordination Polymers: Syntheses and Crystal Structures of Six New Pimelinates, [M(Pim)(PimH)(H2O)](H2O) (M = Ce, Pr) and [M2(Pim)3(H2O)4] (M = Tb, Ho, Er, Tm) The new rare‐earth metal carboxylates [M(Pim)(PimH)(H2O)](H2O) (M = Ce ( 1 ), Pr ( 2 )) and [M2(Pim)3(H2O)4] (M = Tb ( 3 ), Ho ( 4 ), Er ( 5 ), Tm ( 6 )) were prepared from the reaction of pimelinic acid with CeO2, Pr6O11, Tb4O7, HoCl3, ErCl3 and Tm(NO3)3, respectively. Their crystal structures were determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. [M(Pim)(PimH)(H2O)](H2O) crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/n (no. 14) with a = 909.6(1), b = 870.6(1), c = 2240.5(2) pm, β = 92.30(1)°, Z = 4 (crystal data for M = Ce). The isostructural pimelinate‐hydrates [M2(Pim)3(H2O)4] crystallize with orthorhombic symmetry, Pbcn (no. 60), with a = 1392.5(1), b = 902.3(1), c = 2408.8(2) pm, Z = 4 (crystal data for M = Tb). The rare‐earth cations have coordination numbers of 10 ( 1 , 2 ) and 9 ( 3 , 4 , 5 and 6 ), respectively. In the crystal structure of [M(Pim)(PimH)(H2O)](H2O) bidentate and tridentate‐bridging carboxylate groups form rather dense structures in which chains are bridged to layers and further to networks. Pimelinic acid molecules fill the channels. In [M2(Pim)3(H2O)4] tridentate‐bridging carboxylate groups coordinating to two rare‐earth ions lead to dimers that are linked with other dimers to strands. The channels thus formed between the strands are rather small in diameter. They do not contain any non‐coordinated water molecules.  相似文献

Four new substituted amino acid ligands, N-(3-hydroxybenzyl)-glycine acid (HL1), N-(3-hydroxybenzyl)-alanine acid (HL2), N-(3-hydroxybenzyl)-phenylalanine acid (HL3), and N-(3-hydroxybenzyl)-leucine acid (HL4), were synthesized and characterized on the basis of 1H NMR, IR, ESI-MS, and elemental analyses. The crystal structures of their copper(II) complexes [Cu(L1)2]·2H2O (1), [Cu(L2)2(H2O)] (2), [Cu(L3)2(CH3OH)] (3), and [Cu(L4)2(H2O)]·H2O (4) were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The ligands coordinate with copper(II) through secondary amine and carboxylate in all complexes. In 2, 3, and 4, additional water or methanol coordinates, completing a distorted tetragonal pyramidal coordination geometry around copper. Fluorescence titration spectra, electronic absorption titration spectra, and EB displacement indicate that all the complexes bind to CT-DNA. Intrinsic binding constants of the copper(II) complexes with CT-DNA are 1.32?×?106?M?1, 4.32?×?105?M?1, 5.00?×?105?M?1, and 5.70?×?104?M?1 for 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. Antioxidant activities of the compounds have been investigated by spectrophotometric measurements. The results show that the Cu(II) complexes have similar superoxide dismutase activity to that of native Cu, Zn-SOD.  相似文献

Manganese(IV) complexes [MnIV(npah)(H2O)2] (1) and [MnIV(npah)(A)2]?·?nH2O (where A?=?py (2), 2-pic (3), 3-pic (4), 4-pic (5)) and MnIV(npah)(NN)] (NN?=?bpy (6) and phen (7)) have been synthesized from bis(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde)adipoyldihydrazone in methanol. The composition of the complexes has been established by elemental analyses. Complex 3 has been characterized by mass spectral data also. Structural assessment of the complexes has been based on data from molar conductance, magnetic moment, electronic, electron paramagnetic resonance, and infrared (IR) spectral studies. Molar conductances of the complexes in DMSO suggest non-electrolytes. Magnetic moment and EPR studies suggest +4 oxidation state for manganese in these complexes. Electronic spectral studies suggest six-coordinate octahedral geometry around the metal ions. IR spectra reveal that H4npah coordinates to the metal in enol form. Reaction of the complexes with benzyl alcohol and SO2 has been investigated. Cyclic voltammetric studies of the complexes have also been carried out.  相似文献

A series of Cu(II) carboxylate complexes (carboxylate?=?2-fluorobenzoic acid (2-HFBA) or 4-fluorobenzoic acid (4-HFBA)) containing either one chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) or 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy) have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and thermal analyses. In [Cu(bipy)(H2O)(2-FBA)2] (1), [Cu(bipy)(H2O)(4-FBA)2] (3), and [Cu(phen)(H2O)(2-FBA)2] (4), Cu is five-coordinate in a square pyramidal geometry and four-coordinate in [Cu(phen)(2-FBA)2] (2). The four complexes are extended into 1-D chains through hydrogen-bonding and π?···?π interactions in 1 and 4, only hydrogen-bonding in 2, and π?···?π interactions in 3. These contacts lead to aggregation and supramolecular self-assembly.  相似文献

Two coordination polymers, [Co(phen)(oba)(H2O)2] ( 1 ) and [Cd3(phen)3(oba)2(Hoba)2(H2O)2] ( 2 ) (oba = 4, 4′‐oxybis(benzoate), phen = 1, 10‐phenanthroline) have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Complex 1 crystallizes in monoclinic, P21/n, a = 7.543(6), b = 33.05(2), c = 9.902(5)Å, β = 103.69(2)°, V = 2398(3)Å3, Z = 4; 2 in monoclinic, P2/n, a = 15.11(1), b = 10.069(8), c = 28.02(2)Å, β = 101.83(1)°, V = 4174(5)Å3, Z = 2. X‐ray single‐crystal diffraction investigations shows that the complexes 1 and 2 consist of helical chains, which are further assembled into layers and networks via supramolecular interactions such as π—π stacking interactions and hydrogen bonds, respectively. The results indicate that the coordination environment is one of the most important factors for assembly of single‐stranded helical chains into double‐stranded helical chains via supramolecular interactions.  相似文献

Two CoII complexes, Co(phen)(HL)2 ( 1 ) and [Co2(phen)2(H2O)4L2]·H2O ( 2 ) (H2L = HOOC‐(CH2)5‐COOH), were synthesized and structurally characterized on the basis of single crystal X‐ray diffraction data. In complex 1 the Co atoms are tetrahedrally coordinated by two N atoms of one phen ligand and two O atoms of different hydrogenpimelato ligands. Through π—π stacking interactions between carboxyl group and phen ligand, the complex molecules are assembled into 1D columnar chains, which are connected by intermolecular hydrogen bonds. Complex 2 consists of the centrosymmetric dinuclear [Co2(phen)2(H2O)4L2] molecules and hydrogen bonded H2O molecules. The Co atoms are each octahedrally surrounded by two N atoms of one phen ligand and four O atoms from two bis‐monodentate pimelato ligands and two H2O molecules at the trans positions. The results about thermal analyses, which were performed in flowing N2 atmosphere, on both complexes were discussed. The kinetics of oxidation of hydroquinone (H2Q) by a μ-oxo-bridged diiron(III,III) complex, Fe2(μ-O)(phen)4(H2O)2]4+ (1) has been investigated in aqueous media at 25.0 °C in presence of an excess of 1,10-phenanthroline (phen). The overall redox rate increases with increase in [H+]. The title complex (1) and its conjugate bases, [Fe2(μ-O)(phen)4(OH)2]3+(2) and [Fe2(μ-O)(phen)4(OH)2]2+ (3), participate in the reaction with H2Q as the only kinetically reactive reducing species. Rate constants (in dm3 mol−1 s−1) for the parallel reactions (1) + H2Q → Products, (2) + H2Q → Products and that for (3) + H2Q → Products are, respectively, 500 ± 40, 100 ± 6 and 30 ± 2. Substantial rate retardation in D2O media in comparison to that in H2O media suggests that electron transfer is coupled with proton movements in the rate-determining step.  相似文献
