There is a high overvoltage in the oxidation of methanol in fuel cells, and so modified electrodes are used to decrease it.A modified electrode that used Ni(II) loaded analcime zeolite to catalyze the electrooxidation of methanol in alkaline solution was proposed.Analcime zeolite was synthesized by hydrothermal synthesis, and Ni(II) ions were incorporated into the analcime structure, which was then mixed with carbon paste to prepare modified electrode. The electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol on the surface of the modified electrode in alkaline solution was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The effects of the scan rate of the potential, concentration of methanol, and amount of zeolite were investigated. The rate constant for the catalytic reaction of methanol was 6 × 103 cm3 mol-1 s-1 from measurements using chronoamperometry. The proposed electrode significantly improved the electron transfer rate and decreased the overpotential for methanol oxidation.  相似文献

A benzoylferrocene modified multi‐wall carbon nanotube paste electrode for the measurement of methionine (MET) concentration is described. MET electrochemical response characteristics of the modified electrode in a phosphate buffer solution of pH 7.0 were investigated by cyclic voltammetry, square wave voltammetry, and chronoamperometry. Under optimized conditions, the square wave voltammetric peak current of MET increased linearly with MET concentration in the range of 1.0×107 to 2.0×104 mol/L. The detection limit was 58.0 nmol/L MET. The diffusion coefficient (D=5.62×106cm2/s) and electron transfer coefficient (α=0.4) for MET oxidation were also determined. The sensor was successfully applied for the measurement of MET concentration in human urine.  相似文献

The spillover phenomenon is observed on the platinum (Pt) disk electrode modified by multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs). The rate of the spillover of oxygen-containing species produced on Pt surface to and from MWNTs is fast. However for hydrogen-adatoms, the spillover is very weak. The selective spillover on the Pt/MWNTs electrode may provide a novel way to design catalysts.  相似文献

Ag nanoparticles were synthesized on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode modified with p‐tert‐butylcalix[4]arene and p‐tert‐butylcalix[6]arene by the deposition of Ag+ at an open circuit potential followed by the electrochemical reduction of the Ag+.The presence of the calixarene layer on the electrode surface controlled the particle size and prevented agglomeration.Cyclic voltam‐metry showed that the Ag nanoparticles on the modified glassy carbon electrode had good catalytic ability for the reduction of flutamide. The effects of calixarene concentration, potential applied for the reduction of Ag+,number of calixarene layers, and p H value on the electrocatalytic activity of the Ag nanoparticles were investigated. The modified electrode had a linear range in differential pulse voltammetry of 10-1000 μmol/L with a detection limit of 9.33 μmol/L for flutamide at an S/N = 3.The method was applied to the detection of flutamide in practical samples.  相似文献

A novel electrochemical DNA biosensor based on zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) for DNA immobilization and enhanced hybridization detection is presented. The MWNTs/nano ZnO/chitosan composite film modified glassy carbon electrode (MWNTs/ZnO/CHIT/GCE) was fabricated and DNA probes were immobilized on the electrode surface. The hybridization events were monitored by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) using methylene blue (MB) as an indicator. The sensor can effectively discriminate different DNA sequences related to PAT gene in the transgenic corn, with a detection limit of 2.8× 10^-12 mol/L of target sequence.  相似文献

Two different self‐contained ethanol amperometric biosensors incorporating layered [Ru(phend)2bpy]2+‐intercalated zirconium phosphate (ZrP) as the mediator as well as yeast‐alcohol dehydrogenase (y‐ADH) and its cofactor nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) were constructed to improve upon a design previously reported where only this mediator was immobilized in the surface of a modified electrode. In the first biosensor, a [Ru(phend)2bpy]2+‐intercalated ZrP modified carbon paste electrode (CPE) was improved by immobilizing in its surface both y‐ADH and NAD+ using quaternized Nafion membrane. In the second biosensor, a glassy carbon electrode was modified with [Ru(phend)2bpy]2+‐intercalated ZrP, y‐ADH, and NAD+ using Nafion as the holding matrix. Calibration plots for ethanol sensing were constructed in the presence and absence of ZrP. In the absence of ZrP in the surface of the modified glassy carbon electrode, leaching of ADH was observed as detected by UV‐vis spectrophotometry. Ethanol sensing was also tested in the presence and absence of ascorbate to measure the selectivity of the sensor for ethanol. These two ethanol biosensors were compared to a previously reported one where the y‐ADH and the NAD+ were in solution, not immobilized.  相似文献

A novel NH2+ ion implantation‐modified indium tin oxide (NH2/ITO) electrode was prepared. Acid‐pretreated, negatively charged MWNTs were firstly modified on the surface of NH2+ ion implantation electrode, then, positively charged Mb was adsorbed onto MWNTs films by electrostatic interaction. The assembly of MWNTs and Mb was characterized with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The immobilized Mb showed a couple of quasireversible cyclic voltammetry peaks in pH 7.0 phosphate buffer solution (PBS). The apparent surface concentration of Mb at the electrode surface was 1.06×10?9 mol cm?2. The Mb/MWNTs/NH2/ITO electrode also gave an improved electrocatalytic activity towards the reduction of hydrogen peroxide. The catalysis currents increased linearly to the H2O2 concentration in a wide range from 9×10?7 to 9.2×10?5 M with a correlation coefficient of 0.999. The detection limit was 9.0×10?7 M. The experiment results demonstrated that the modified electrode provided a biocompatible microenvironment for protein and supplied a necessary pathway for its direct electron transfer.  相似文献

A novel multiwalled nanotubes (MWNTs)/Cerium(III) 12 ‐ tungstophosphoric acid (CePW) nanocomposite film glassy carbon electrode was prepared in this paper. Electrochemical behaviors of the CePW/MWNTs modified electrode were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). This modified electrode brought new capabilities for electrochemical devices by combining the advantages of carbon nanotubes, rare‐earth, and heteropoly‐acids. The results demonstrated that the CePW/MWNTs modified electrode exhibited enhanced electrocatalytic behavior and good stability for the detection of guanine and adenine in 0.1 M PBS (pH 7.0). The experimental parameters were optimized and a direct electrochemical method for the simultaneous determination of guanine and adenine was proposed. The detection limit (S/N=3) for guanine and adenine was 2.0×10?8 M and 3.0×10?8 M, respectively. Further, the acid‐denatured calf thymus DNA was also detected and the result was satisfied.  相似文献

Multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were dispersed in the ionic liquid [BMIM][BF4] to form a uniform black suspension. Based on it, a novel glucose oxidase (GOx)‐hyaluronic (HA)‐[BMIM][BF4]‐MWNTs/GCE modified electrode was fabricated. UV‐vis spectroscopy confirmed that GOx immobilized in the composite film retained its native structure. The experimental results of EIS indicated MWNTs, [BMIM][BF4] and HA were successfully immobilized on the surface of GCE and [BMIM][BF4]‐MWNTs could obviously improve the diffusion of ferricyanide toward the electrode surface. The experimental results of CV showed that a pair of well‐defined and quasi‐reversible peaks of GOx at the modified electrode was exhibited, and the redox reaction of GOx at the modified electrode was surface‐confined and quasi‐reversible electrochemical process. The average surface coverage of GOx and the apparent Michaelis‐Menten constant were 8.5×10−9 mol/cm2 and 9.8 mmol/L, respectively. The cathodic peak current of GOx and the glucose concentration showed linear relationship in the range from 0.1 to 2.0 mmol/L with a detection limit of 0.03 mmol/L (S/N=3). As a result, the method presented here could be easily extended to immobilize and obtain the direct electrochemistry of other redox enzymes or proteins.  相似文献

This work describes the electrochemical properties of glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) modified with chromium(III) hexacyanoferrate(II) (Crhf) nanoparticles attached multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWNTs). The morphological characterization of Crhf/MWNTs nanocomposites was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV‐vis spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT‐IR). The electrocatalytic activity of these nanocomposites was investigated and showed a good electrocatalytic effect for oxidation of L ‐cysteine (L ‐Cys) in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (pH 3.0). Under optimum conditions linear calibration graphs were obtained over the L ‐Cys concentration range 5.0×10?7 to 6.0×10?5 M with a correlation coefficient of 0.9998 and a detection limit (signal‐to‐noise ratio was 3) of 1.0×10?8 M. The proposed method is simple and it also showed excellent sensitivity and stability. The excellent electrocatalytic ability of the modified electrode towards L ‐Cys manifests that the Crhf/MWNTs can provide a new platform for biosensors and other biology.  相似文献

A sensitive electrochemical method for the determination of simvastatin (SV) was established, based on the enhanced oxidation of SV at a multi‐walled carbon nanotubes‐dihexadecyl hydrogen phosphate composite modified glassy carbon electrode (MWNTs‐DHP/GCE). The voltammetric studies showed that MWNTs instead of DHP or GCE could effectively catalyze the oxidation of SV. The dependence of oxidation current on SV concentration was explored under optimal conditions, which exhibited a good linear relationship in the range of 1.0×10?7–7.5×10?6 M. The detection limit of SV was also examined and a low value of 5.0×10?8 M was obtained for 5 min accumulation (σ=3). This electrode was applied to the detection of SV in drug forms and the results were in accordance with those obtained by UV spectroscopy.  相似文献

Myoglobin (Myb) of horse heart is incorporated on multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and immobilized at a glassy carbon (GC) electrode surface. Its electrochemical behavior and enzyme activity are characterized by employing electrochemical methods. The results indicate that MWNTs can obviously promote the direct electron transfer between Myb and electrode, and that the Myb on MWNTs behaves as an enzyme‐like activity towards the electrochemical reduction of nitric oxide (NO). Accordingly, an unmediated NO biosensor is constructed. Experimental results reveal that the peak current related to NO is linearly proportional to its concentration in the range of 2.0×10?7–4.0×10?5 mol/L. The detection limit is estimated to be 8.0×10?8 mol/L. Considering a relative standard deviation of 2.1% in seven independent determinations of 1.0×10?5 mol/L NO, this biosensor shows a good reproducibility. The biosensor based on Myb/MWNTs modified electrode can be used for the rapid determination of trace NO in aqueous solution with a good stability, nice selectivity and easy construction.  相似文献

Thermodynamics and kinetics of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) adsorption on a glassy carbon (GC) electrode surface was investigated at various electrode potentials and NAD+ concentrations using differential capacitance (DC) and attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) techniques. Equilibrium adsorption measurements confirmed that NAD+ spontaneously and strongly adsorbs on the GC electrode surface. The affinity of NAD+ towards adsorption on the GC electrode surface was found to increase with an increase in electrode potential (charge) to more positive values; the corresponding apparent Gibbs free energy of adsorption was ?32.80?±?0.25, ?35.61?±?0.86, and ?38.02?±?0.40 kJ mol?1 on negatively, neutral, and positively charged electrode surfaces, respectively. The kinetics of NAD+ adsorption is also found to be highly dependent on the electrode surface potential (charge), and it increases with an increase in electrode potential (charge) to positive values. The adsorption process was modeled using a two-step kinetic model, in which the adsorption process involves the formation of two forms of NAD+ on the surface: the thermodynamically unstable (NAD+ ads, rev) and stable (NAD+ ads, stable) forms. ATR-FTIR further confirmed that NAD+, indeed, adsorbed on the GC electrode surface.  相似文献

Abstract

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were treated with a mixture of concentrated sulfuric and nitric acid to introduce carboxylic acid groups to the nanotubes. Conducting polymer film was prepared by electrochemical polymerization of neutral red (NR). By using a layer‐by‐layer method, homogeneous and stable MWNTs and poly (neutral red) (PNR) multilayer films were alternately assembled on glassy carbon (GC) electrodes. With the introduction of PNR, the MWNTs/PNR multilayer film system showed synergy between the MWNTs and PNR, with a significant improvement of redox activity due to the excellent electron‐transfer ability of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and PNR. The electropolymerization is advantageous, providing both prolonged long‐term stability and improved catalytic activity of the resulting modified electrodes. The MWNTs/PNR multilayer film modified glassy carbon electrode allows low potential detection of hydrogen peroxide with high sensitivity and fast response time. As compared to MWNTs and PNR‐modified GC electrodes, the magnitude of the amperometric response of the MWNTs/PNR composite‐modified GC electrode is more than three‐fold greater than that of the MWNTs modified GC electrode, and nine‐fold greater than that of the PNR‐modified GC electrode. With the immobilization of glucose oxidase onto the electrode surface using glutaric dialdehyde, a biosensor that responds sensitively to glucose has been constructed. In pH 6.98 phosphate buffer, nearly interference‐free determination of glucose has been realized at ?0.2 V vs. SCE with a linear range from 50 µM to 10 mM and response time <10s. The detection limit was 10 µM glucose (S/N=3).  相似文献

A simple layer‐by‐layer (LBL) assembly strategy was established for constructing a novel reagentless biosensor based on a nanocomposite of methylene blue multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MB‐MWNTs). A nanocomposite of MB‐MWNTs was obtained by direct premixing and possessed good dispersion in barbital‐HCl buffer. Through electrostatic interactions, the nanocomposite of MB‐MWNTs could alternately be assembled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) on the Au electrode modified with precursor films. UV/Vis spectra and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were applied to reveal the formation of the nanocomposite of MB‐MWNTs. The LBL assembly process was also verified by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The MB is a well‐established mediator and efficiently facilitated the electron shuttle between the HRP and the electrode, as demonstrated by the cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements. The as‐prepared reagentless biosensor exhibited a fast response for the determination of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and reached 95% of the steady‐state current within 3 s. It was found that the linear response range of the reagentless biosensor for H2O2 was from 4.0 μM to 3.78 mM with a detection limit of 1.0 μM and a sensitivity of 22.5 μA mM−1. The biosensor exhibited a high reproducibility and stability.  相似文献
