Mononuclear and binuclear copper(II) complexes (1-8) with two ONS donor thiosemicarbazone ligands {salicylaldehyde 3-hexamethyleneiminyl thiosemicarbazone [H2L1] and salicylaldehyde 3-tetramethyleneiminyl thiosemicarbazone [H2L2]} have been prepared and physico-chemically characterized. IR, electronic and EPR spectra of the complexes have been obtained. The thiosemicarbazones bind to metal as dianionic ONS donor ligands in all the complexes except in [Cu(HL1)2] (2) and [Cu(HL2)2] (6). In compounds 2 and 6 the ligands are coordinated as monoanionic HL- ones. The magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that all the complexes are paramagnetic. In complex [(CuL1)2] (1), the magnetic moment value is lower than the expected spin only value. In all the complexes g(||)>g( perpendicular)>2.0023 and G values within the range 2.5-3.5 are consistent with dx2-y2 ground state. The complexes were given the formula as [(CuL1)2] (1); [Cu(HL1)2] (2); [CuL1bpy] (3); [CuL1phen] (4); [CuL1gamma-pic].2H2O (5); [Cu(HL2)2] (6); [CuL2py].3H2O (7); [CuL2bipy] (8). The structure of the compound 8 have been solved by single crystal X-ray crystallography and was found to be distorted square pyramid around copper(II) ion.  相似文献

A series of new mixed ligand complexes of Zn(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II) with citronellal thiosemicarbazone [3,7-dimethyl-6-octene-1-a1 thiosemicarbazone (LH)] and N-phthaloyl amino acids (AH) have been synthesized by the reaction of metal(II) chloride with ligands citronellal thiosemicarbazone (DOTSC) and N-phthaloyl glycine [1,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-2H-isoindole-2-acetic acid (A1H)] or N-phthaloyl alanine [1,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-α(methyl)-2H-isoindole-2-acetic acid (A2H)] in 1:1:1 molar ratio in dry refluxing ethanol. All the complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance measurement, molecular weight measurement, IR, and multinuclear NMR (1H and 13C{1H}) spectral studies. IR, 1H, and 13C{1H} NMR spectral studies suggest the involvement of azomethine-N, thiol-S atoms of the thiosemicarbazone moiety and both carboxylate-O of N-phthaloyl amino acid moiety in coordination with central metal(II) ion, and four coordinated geometries have been assigned to these complexes. The free ligands and metal complexes have been screened for their antifungal activity against two fungal strains, Fusarium moniliformae and Macrophomina phaseolina, using the the radial growth method. The results of antifungal activity show that metal complexes show enhanced higher activity than the free ligands.

Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Mn(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), Hg(II) and U(IV)O(2)(2+) with N'-(1-(4-hydroxyphenyl) ethylidene)-2-oxo-2-(phenylamino) acetohydrazide (H(3)OPAH) are reported and have been characterized by various spectroscopic techniques like IR, UV-visible, (1)H NMR and ESR as well as magnetic and thermal (TG and DTA) measurements. It is found that the ligand behaves as a neutral bidentate, monoanionic tridentate or tetradentate and dianionic tetradentate. An octahedral geometry for [Mn(H(3)OPAH)(2)Cl(2)], [Co(2)(H(2)OPAH)(2)Cl(2)(H(2)O)(4)] and [(UO(2))(2)(HOPAH)(OAc)(2)(H(2)O)(2)] complexes, a square planar geometry for [Cu(2)(H(2)OPAH)Cl(3)(H(2)O)]H(2)O complex, a tetrahedral structure for [Cd(H(3)OPAH)Cl(2)], [Zn(H(3)OPAH)(OAc)(2)] and [Hg(H(3)OPAH)Cl(2)]H(2)O complexes. The binuclear [Ni(2)(HOPAH)Cl(2)(H(2)O)(2)]H(2)O complex contains a mixed geometry of both tetrahedral and square planar structures. The protonation constants of ligand and stepwise stability constants of its complexes at 298, 308 and 318 K as well as the thermodynamic parameters are being calculated. The bond lengths, bond angles, HOMO, LUMO and dipole moments have been calculated to confirm the geometry of the ligand and the investigated complexes. Also, thermal properties and decomposition kinetics of all compounds are investigated. The interpretation, mathematical analysis and evaluation of kinetic parameters (E(a), A, ΔH, ΔS and ΔG) of all thermal decomposition stages have been evaluated using Coats-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger methods.  相似文献

Ruthenium(II) heptacoordinate complexes containing the pentadentate SNNNS chelating ligand 2,6–diacetylpyridine bis(4–(p-tolyl)thiosemicarbazone) (L1H2) have been prepared. The compounds were of the type Ru(L1H2)X2 [X=Cl (1);Br (2); SCN (3)],[Ru(L1H2)- (Y)Cl]Cl [Y=imidazole (4); pyridine-N-oxide (5)] and [Ru(L1H2)(PPh3)X]Y, [X=Cl (6), (7);Br (8); Y=ClO4/ PF6]. The complexes were characterised by i.r., u.v.–vis. and n.m.r. spectroscopy and their electrochemical behaviour was examined by cyclic voltammetry. They exhibit a reversible to quasi-reversible RuII/RuIII couple in MeCN solution at a glassy carbon working electrode using an Ag/AgCl electrode as the reference. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The, nitrin, 2-aminobenzaldehyde phenylhydrazone (2ABPH) was synthesis by refluxing 2-nitrobenzaldehyde with phenylhydrazine in ethanolic solvent. Three transition metal (II) complexes of 2ABPH have been prepared. Elemental analysis, molar conductivity, IR, UV, 1H NMR, and mass spectra, as well as TG/DTG have been used to characterize these complexes. The complexes have the general formula [M(2ABPH)2]Cl2.nH2O, where M=Zn, Cd, and Hg and n=4, 2 and 0 for Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II), respectively. The ligand and its complexes have been studied for their possible biological activity including antibacterial and antifungal activity.  相似文献

In methanol, the metal salts CdCl2.H2O and HgCl2 react instantaneously with the deprotonated ligand, L-, producing molecular dimetallic ink-blue complexes of general formula M2Cl2L2, M=Cd(II), (1) and Hg(II), (2) (HL=2-[2-(pyridylamino)phenylazo]pyridine). Crystal structures of these two complexes are reported. The coordination sphere around each Cd(II) ion in 1 is a distorted square pyramidal. The metal ion (Cd1) sits above the basal plane of three nitrogen atoms, N(1), N(3), and N(4). The second cadmium ion (Cd2) in this compound lies below the plane of three nitrogen atoms, N(6), N(8), and N(9). The apical positions are occupied by two Cl atoms. Secondary intramolecular interactions between the metal ions and the anionic secondary amine nitrogen atoms (N(4) and N(9)) are noted. The geometry of each Hg(II) ion in the mercury complex, Hg2Cl2L2.0.5H2O, is also distorted square based pyramid with the metal ions lying out of planes of the three nitrogen atoms of the chelating ligands. Secondary Hg(1)...N(1A) (deprotonated amine) interactions are noted. The separation between the two Hg(II) ions in this complex is within the sum of their van der Waals radii. Solution properties of these blue complexes are reported. The origin of the intense blue color in these complexes is the intraligand transitions that occur near 615 nm. 1H NMR of Hg2Cl2L2.0.5H2O indicates that it undergoes exchange in solution with the coordinated ligands.  相似文献

Complexes of the type [M(gssdh)]Cl and [M(gspdh)]Cl, where M?=?Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II), Hgssdh?=?glyoxal salicylaldehyde succinic acid dihydrazone and Hgspdh?=?glyoxal salicylaldehyde phthalic acid dihydrazone, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moments, electronic, ESR and IR spectra and X-ray powder diffraction studies. The metal complexes are insoluble in common organic solvents and are 1?:?1 electrolytes. The magnetic moment values and electronic spectra indicate a spin–free octahedral geometry for all Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes. ESR spectral parameters of Cu(II) complexes suggest an elongated tetragonally–distorted octahedral stereochemistry around copper. Both ligands are monobasic hexadentate ligands coordinating through three >C=O, two >C=N– and a deprotonated phenolate group to the metal. X-ray powder diffraction parameters for three of the complexes correspond to an orthorhombic crystal lattice. The complexes show appreciable activity against various fungi and bacteria.  相似文献

Complexes of the general formula [M(Bsodh)]Cl and [M(Bsmdh)]Cl, where M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II,) and Cd(II) (HBsodh = benzil salicylaldehyde oxalic acid dihydrazone and HBsmdh = benzil salicylaldehyde malonic acid dihydrazone) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moments, electronic, ESR, infrared spectra, and X-ray diffraction studies. The complexes are stable solids insoluble in common organic solvents and 1: 1 electrolytes. The magnetic moments and electronic spectra reveal a square-planar geometry for [M(Bsodh)]Cl and a six-coordinate octahedral geometry for [M(Bsmdh)]Cl. The HBsodh ligand bonds to the metal ion via one >C=O, two >C=N−, and one deprotonated phenolate group, whereas HBsmdh bonds through three >C=O, two >C=N−, and one phenolate group. The lattice parameters for [Co(Bsodh)]Cl and [Ni(Bsmdh)]Cl correspond to tetragonal and orthorhombic crystal lattices, respectively. ESR spectral data indicate the presence of an unpaired electron in of the Cu2+ ion. The ligands, as well as their metal complexes, show significant antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas fluorescens. Copper(II) complexes having the general composition Cu(L)(2)X(2) [where L = isopropyl methyl ketone semicarbazone (LLA), isopropyl methyl ketone thiosemicarbazone (LLB), 4-aminoacetophenone semicarbazone (LLC), and 4-aminoacetophenone thiosemicarbazone (LLD) and X = Cl(-), 1/2SO(4)(2-)] have been synthesized. All the Cu(II) complexes reported here have been characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moment susceptibility, EI mass, (1)H NMR, IR, EPR, and electronic spectral studies. All the complexes were found to have magnetic moments corresponding to one unpaired electrons. The possible geometries of the complexes were assigned on the basis of EPR, electronic, and infrared spectral studies.  相似文献

The NO2S2-donor macrocycle (L1) was synthesised from the ring closure reaction between Boc-N-protected 2,2'-iminobis(ethanethiol) (3) and 2,2'-(ethylenedioxy)bis(benzyl chloride) (4) followed by deprotection of the Boc-group. alpha,alpha'-Dibromo-p-xylene was employed as a dialkylating agent to bridge two L1 to yield the corresponding N-linked product (L2). The X-ray structure of L2 (as its HBr salt) is described. A range of Cd(II) and Hg(II) complexes of L1 (6-9) and L2 (10-12) were prepared and characterised. Reaction of HgX2 (X = Br or I) with L1 afforded [Hg(L1)Br]2[Hg2Br6].2CH2Cl2 6 and [Hg(L1)I(2)] 7, respectively. For 6, the Hg(II) ion in the complex cation has a distorted tetrahedral coordination environment composed of S2N donor atoms from L1 and a bromo ligand. In 7 the coordination geometry is highly distorted tetrahedral, with the macrocycle coordinating in an exodentate manner via one S and one N atom. The remaining two coordination sites are occupied by iodide ions. [Hg(L1)(ClO4)]ClO4 8 was isolated from the reaction of Hg(ClO4)2 and L1. The X-ray structure reveals that all macrocyclic ring donors bind to the central mercury ion in this case, with the latter exhibiting a highly distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The O2S2-donors from the macrocyclic ring define the equatorial plane while the axial positions are occupied by the ring nitrogen as well as by an oxygen from a monodentate perchlorato ion. Reaction of Cd(NO3)(2).4H2O with L1 afforded [Cd(L1)(NO3)2](.)0.5CH2Cl2 9 in which L1 acts as a tridentate ligand, binding exo-fashion via its S2N donors. The remaining coordination positions are filled by two bidentate nitrate ions such that, overall, the cadmium is seven-coordinate. Reactions of HgX2(X = Br or I) with L2 yielded the isostructural 2 : 1 (metal : ligand) complexes, [Hg2(L2)Br4] 10 and [Hg2(L2)I(4)] 11. Each mercury ion has a distorted tetrahedral environment made up of S and N donors from an exodentate L2 and two coordinated halides. Contrasting with this, the reaction of L2 with Cd(NO3)(2).4H2O yielded a 1-D coordination network, {[Cd2(L2)(NO3)4].2CH2Cl2}n 12 in which each ring of L2 is exo-coordinated via two S atoms and one N atom to a cadmium ion which is also bound to one monodentate and one bidentate nitrate anion. The latter also has one of its oxygen atom attached to a neighboring cadmium via a nitroso (mu2-O) bridge such that the overall coordination geometry about each cadmium is seven-coordinate. The [Cd(L2)0.5(NO3)2] units are linked by an inversion to yield the polymeric arrangement.  相似文献

Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes having the general composition [M(L)(2)X(2)] [where L=2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde thiosemicarbazone, M=Ni(II) and Cu(II), X=Cl(-), NO(3)(-) and 1/2 SO(4)(2-)] have been synthesized. All the metal complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic moment, mass, IR, EPR and electronic spectral studies. The magnetic moment measurements of the complexes indicate that all the complexes are of high-spin type. On the basis of spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Ni(II) complexes whereas tetragonal geometry for Cu(II) except [Cu(L)(2)SO(4)] which posseses five coordinated geometry. The ligand and its metal complexes were screened against phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria in vitro.  相似文献

Two types of copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes derived from benzophenone anthranoylhydrazone (L1), 2-acetonaftanone anthranoylhydrazone (L2), 4-phenylacetonaftonone anthranoylhydrazone (L3), benzophenone salicyoylhydrazone (L4), 2-acetonaftanon salicyoylhydrazone (L5), 4-phenylacetonaftanon salicyoylhydrazone (L6) and bidentate heterocyclic base [1,10-phenanthroline (phen)] with general stoichiometry [ML2] and [ML(phen)]Cl have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, UV-vis electronic absorption spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The effect of varying pH and solvent on the absorption behavior of both ligands and complexes have been investigated. According to the IR spectra, the ligands act as monobasic bidentate and coordination takes place in the enol tautomeric form.  相似文献

A new macrocylic Schiff base 1,2,5,6,8,11-hexaazacyclododeca-7,12-dithione-2,4,8,10-tetraene(H(2)L(4)) containing thiosemicarbazone moiety is readily prepared and characterized for the first time with fairly good yield. Macrocylic ligand (H(2)L(4)) is prepared from the mesocyle 6-ethoxy-4-thio-2,3,5-triazine(H(2)L(3)) in ethanol with copper chloride acting as template using high dilution technique. The complexes of macrocylic ligand with a general composition M(H(2)L(4))X(2) [where M=Cu(II) or Ni(II); H(2)L(4)=1,2,5,6,8,11-hexaazacyclo dodeca-7,12-dithione-2,4,8,10-tetraene; X= Cl(-), NO(3)(-), (1)/(2)SO(4)(2-)] and ML(4) (where metal salt used to synthesize complex is copper acetate and nickel thiocyanate) have been synthesized. The complexes were characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR, electronic, 1H NMR, mass and EPR spectral studies. The complexes from H(2)L(4) show different stoichiometry ratio and with a variable grade of deprotonation in the ligand, depending upon the salt used and working conditions.  相似文献

Complexes of diacetyl salicylaldehyde oxalic acid dihydrazone, CH3COC(CH3)= NNHCOCONHN=CHC6H4(OH),(dsodh) and diacetyl salicylaldehyde malonic acid dihydrazone CH3COC(CH3)=NNHCOCH2CONHN=CHC6H4(OH), (dsmdh) of general compositions [M(L)]Cl, [M′(L)Cl], [M(L′)]Cl and [M′(L′)Cl] (where M?=?Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and M′?=?Ni(II); HL?=?dsodh and HL′?=?dsmdh) were prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moments, electronic, ESR and infrared spectra and X-ray diffraction data. The magnetic moments and electronic spectra indicate six-coordinate octahedral geometry for Co(II) and square planar geometry for Ni(II) complexes. The ESR spectral data of Cu(II) complexes in DMF solution reveal a tetragonally distorted octahedral geometry. Both ligands bond through >C=O, >C=N and deprotonated phenolate groups in all octahedral complexes and through >C=N and deprotonated phenolate groups in Ni(II) square planar complexes. The lattice parameters for Cu(dsodh) and Co(dsmdh) correspond to an orthorhombic and Ni(dsodh) corresponds to a tetragonal crystal lattice.

The complexes show significant antifungal activity against a number of pathogenic fungi viz. Stemphylium, Myrothecium and Alternaria. The antibacterial activity was studied against Pseudomonas fluorescence (gram ?ve) and Clostridium thermocellum (gram +ve).  相似文献

A new ligand, 2‐aminonicotinaldehyde N‐methyl thiosemicarbazone (ANMTSC) and its metal complexes [Co(II) ( 1 ); Ni(II) ( 2 ); Cu(II) ( 3 ); Zn(II) ( 4 ); Cd(II) ( 5 ) or Hg(II) ( 6 )] were synthesized. The compounds were characterized by analytical methods and various spectroscopic (infrared, magnetic, thermal, 1H, 13C NMR, electronic and ESR) tools. The structure of ANMTSC ligand was confirmed by single crystal X‐ray diffraction study. The spectral data of metal complexes indicate that the ligand acts as mononegative, bidentate coordination through imine nitrogen (N) and thiocarbonyl sulphur (S?) atoms. The proposed geometries for complexes were octahedral ( 1 – 2 ), distorted octahedral ( 3 ) and tetrahedral ( 4 – 6 ). Computational details of theoretical calculations (DFT) of complexes have been discussed. The compounds were subjected to antimicrobial, antioxidant, antidiabetic, anticancer, ROS, studies and EGFR targeting molecular docking analysis. Complex 5 has shown excellent antibacterial activity and the complexes 2 and 5 have shown good antifungal activity. The complexes 1 and 4 displayed good antioxidant property with IC50 values of 11.17 ± 1.92 μM and 10.79 ± 1.85 μM, respectively compared to standard. In addition, in vitro anticancer activity of the compounds was investigated against HeLa, MCF‐7, A549, IMR‐32 and HEK 293 cell lines. Among all the compounds, complex 4 was more effective against HeLa (IC50 = 10.28 ± 0.69 μM), MCF‐7 (IC50 = 9.80 ± 0.83 μM), A549 (IC50 = 11.08 ± 0.57 μM) and IMR‐32 (10.41 ± 0.60 μM) exhibited superior anticancer activity [IC50 = 9.80 ± 0.83 ( 4 ) and 9.91 ± 0.37 μM ( 1 )] against MCF‐7 compared with other complexes.  相似文献

The coordination chemistry of the N-substituted arylamido ligands [N(R)(C6H3R'2-2,6)] [R = SiMe3, R' = Me (L1); R = CH2But, R' = Pri (L2)] toward FeII and CoII ions was studied. The monoamido complexes [M(L1)(Cl)(tmeda)] [M = Fe (1), Co (2)] react readily with MeLi, affording the mononuclear, paramagnetic iron(II) and cobalt(II) methyl-arylamido complexes [M(L1)(Me)(tmeda)] [M = Fe (3), Co (4)]. Treatment of 2:1 [Li(L2)(THF)2]/FeCl2 affords the unusual two-coordinate iron(II) bis(arylamide) [Fe(L2)2] (5).  相似文献

The present work describes the preparation and characterization of some metal ion complexes derived from 4-formylpyridine-4 N-(2-pyridyl)thiosemicarbazone (HFPTS). The complexes have the formula; [Cd(HFPTS)2H2O]Cl2, [CoCl2(HPTS)]·H2O, [Cu2Cl4(HPTS)]·H2O, [Fe (HPTS)2Cl2]Cl·3H2O, [Hg(HPTS)Cl2]·4H2O, [Mn(HPTS)Cl2]·5H2O, [Ni(HPTS)Cl2]·2H2O, [UO2(FPTS)2(H2O)]·3H2O. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, spectral (IR, 1H-NMR and UV–Vis), thermal and magnetic moment measurements. The neutral bidentate coordination mode is major for the most investigated complexes. A mononegative bidentate for UO2(II), and neutral tridentate for Cu(II). The tetrahedral arrangement is proposed for most investigated complexes. The biological investigation displays the toxic activity of Hg(II) and UO2(II) complexes, whereas the ligand displays the lowest inhibition activity toward the most investigated microorganisms.  相似文献

New Pb(II), Mn(II), Hg(II), and Zn(II) complexes, derived from 4-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-(2-(phenylamino)acetyl)thiosemicarbazone, were synthesized. The compounds with general formulas, [Pb(H2L)2(OAc)2]ETOH.H2O, [Mn(H2L)(HL)]Cl, [Hg2(H2L)(OH)SO4], and [Zn(H2L)(HL)]Cl, were characterized by physicochemical and theoretical studies. X-ray diffraction studies showed a decrease in the crystalline size of compounds that were exposed to gamma irradiation (γ-irradiation). Thermal studies of the synthesized complexes showed thermal stability of the Mn(II) and Pb(II) complexes after γ-irradiation compared to those before γ–irradiation, while no changes in the Zn(II) and Hg(II) complexes were observed. The optimized geometric structures of the ligand and metal complexes are discussed regarding density functional theory calculations (DFT). The antimicrobial activities of the ligand and metal complexes against several bacterial and fungal stains were screened before and after irradiation. The Hg(II) complex has shown excellent antibacterial activity before and after γ-irradiation. In vitro cytotoxicity screening of the ligand and the Mn(II) and Zn(II) complexes before and after γ-irradiation disclosed that both the ligand and Mn(II) complex exhibited higher activity against human liver (Hep-G2) than Zn(II). Molecular docking was performed on the active site of MK-2 and showed good results.  相似文献
