Magnetic Co3O4 nanoparticles were prepared by using microporous regenerated cellulose films as sacrificial scaffolds. The cellulose macromolecules and the porous structure of the films made them used as spatially confined reacting sites where Co(OH)2 nanoparticles could be synthesized in situ. When the cellulose matrix was removed by sintering at 500 °C, Co3O4 nanoparticles were obtained. XRD and XPS indicated that the prepared nanoparticles were pure Co3O4 without any impurity. TEM and SEM images revealed that the particle size of the nanoparticles was smaller than 100 nm. The nanoparticles had weak ferromagnetic properties at 25 °C. Furthermore, the pronounced quantum confinement effects of the synthesized nanoparticles have been observed, the optical bandgap energies determined were about 1.92 ~ 2.12 and 2.74 ~ 2.76 eV for O2− → Co3+ and O2− → Co2+ charge-transfer processes, respectively. Furthermore, the resulted Co3O4 nanoparticles behaved stable electrochemical performance with promising applications in the electrode for lithium ion battery.  相似文献

Three novel nanosized Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes of imine ligand attained from the condensation of 2‐amino‐3‐hydroxypyridine and 3‐methoxysalicylaldehyde have been prepared and investigated using diverse chemical methods such as NMR, CHN analysis, conductance, IR, Spectral studies, TGA and magnetic moment measurements. The obtained data confirmed that the synthesized complexes have metal: ligand ratio of 1:1 and octahedral geometry for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes. Interestingly, The complexes are used as precursors for producing CuO, Co2O3 and NiO nanoparticles by calcination at 500 °C and their structures were described by powder x‐ray and transmittance electron microscopy. Furthermore, to investigate the feasibility of using the synthesized materials for semiconductor based nanodevices, the electrical properties of the prepared imine complexes and their corresponding metal oxides were investigated by measuring the electrical conductivity over a temperature range 373‐593 K. The data confirm that the materials are semiconductor. The electrical conduction process in the complexes is governed by intermolecular and intramolecular transfer of the charge carriers. But, the conduction mechanism arises from the contribution of the phonon‐assisted small polaron hopping in NiO nanoparticles and charge carrier hopping in CuO and Co2O3 nanoparticles. The results indicate that the complexes under study are promising candidates for wide scale of organic based semiconducting devices.  相似文献

Two novel dinuclear Zn(II) and tetranuclear Co(II) complexes of a tetradentate N2O2 Schiff base ligand (H2 L = N,N′-bis-(4-hydroxysalicylidene)-1,3-diaminopropane) were prepared. The structures of the H2 L ligand, [4(Zn2 L (μ-O2CCH3)(O2CCH3)(H2O))]⋅4CH3OH⋅3H2O (complex 1 ) and [Co4 L 2(μ-O2CCH3)2(O2CCH3)2]⋅2H2O (complex 2 ) were unambiguously characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and UV–Vis spectroscopy. Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies revealed that two Zn(II) nuclei of 1 were connected through μ-phenolato and μ-acetato bridges and had distorted square pyramidal and distorted octahedral coordination geometries. Four Co(II) nuclei of 2 , on the contrary, showed a Co4O4 cubane-like configuration in which Co(II) cations and O atoms were located at alternating corners of a distorted cube. Density functional theory studies at the B3LYP/6–31 G(d) level were carried out to gain an insight into the thermodynamic stability of the complexes. in vitro cytotoxicity of the ligand and the complexes were evaluated using the MTT assay against breast cancer MCF7 cells, melanoma cancer A375 cells, and prostate cancer PC3 cells as representative human cancer cell lines. Complex 1 showed a remarkable activity against A375 and PC3 cancer cell lines. In addition, 1 and 2 were used as precursors to produce zinc and cobalt oxide nanoparticles via pyrolysis technique. The resulting ZnO and Co3O4 nanoparticles were characterized using FT-IR spectroscopy, UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and field emission scanning electron microscopy. Then, these nanoparticles were used as heterogeneous catalysts in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol with hydrogen peroxide at room temperature. Both catalysts showed good recyclability with a negligible decrease in their efficiency during four catalytic cycles. The results of theoretical calculations showed that the most stable product was benzaldehyde, which is in good agreement with the obtained experimental results.  相似文献

Conditions for the preparation of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 3-methoxy-4-methylbenzoates were investigated and their quantitative composition and magnetic moments were determined. The IR spectra and powder diffraction patterns of the complexes prepared of general formula M(C9H9O3)2·nH2O (n=2 for Mn, Co n=1 for Ni, Cu, n=0 for Zn, Cd) were prepared and their thermal decomposition in air was studied. Their solubility in water at 293 K is of the order 10–2 (Mn)–10–4 (Cu) mol dm–3. IR spectra of the prepared 3-methoxy-4-methylbenzoates suggest that carboxylate groups are bidentate bridging. The magnetic moments for the paramagnetic complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) attain values 5.50, 4.45, 3.16 and 1.79 B. M., respectively. During heating the hydrated complexes lose crystallization water molecules in one step and then the anhydrous complexes decompose directly to oxides MO and Mn3O4. Only Co(II) complex decomposes to Co3O4 with intermediate formation CoO.  相似文献

High aspect ratio cobalt doped ZnO nanowires showing strong photocatalytic activity and moderate ferromagnetic behaviour were successfully synthesized using a solvothermal method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) and UV–visible absorption spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activities evaluated for visible light driven degradation of an aqueous methylene orange (MO) solution were higher than for Co doped ZnO nanoparticles at the same doping level and synthesized by the same synthesis route. The rate constant for MO visible light photocatalytic degradation was 1.9·10−3 min−1 in case of nanoparticles and 4.2·10−3 min−1 in case of nanowires. We observe strongly enhanced visible light photocatalytic activity for moderate Co doping levels, with an optimum at a composition of Zn0.95Co0.05O. The enhanced photocatalytic activities of Co doped ZnO nanowires were attributed to the combined effects of enhanced visible light absorption at the Co sites in ZnO nanowires, and improved separation efficiency of photogenerated charge carriers at optimal Co doping.  相似文献

In the Ca-Co-Zn-O system, we have determined the tie-line relationships and the thermoelectric properties, solid solution limits, and structures of two low-dimensional cobaltite series, Ca3(Co, Zn)4O9−z and Ca3(Co,Zn)2O6−z at 885 °C in air. In Ca3(Co,Zn)4O9−z, which has a misfit layered structure, Zn was found to substitute in the Co site to a limit of Ca3(Co3.8Zn0.2)O9−z. The compound Ca3(Co,Zn)2O6−z (n=1 member of the homologous series, Can+2(Co,Zn)n(Co,Zn)′O3n+3−z) consists of one-dimensional parallel (Co,Zn)2O66− chains that are built from successive alternating face-sharing (Co,Zn)O6 trigonal prisms and ‘n’ units of (Co,Zn)O6 octahedra along the hexagonal c-axis. Zn substitutes in the Co site of Ca3Co2O6 to a small amount of approximately Ca3(Co1.95Zn0.05)O6−z. In the ZnO-CoOz system, Zn substitutes in the tetrahedral Co site of Co3O4 to the maximum amount of (Co2.49Zn0.51)O4−z and Co substitutes in the Zn site of ZnO to (Zn0.94Co0.06)O. The crystal structures of (Co2.7Zn0.3)O4−z, (Zn0.94Co0.06)O, and Ca3(Co1.95 Zn0.05)O6−z are described. Despite the Ca3(Co, Zn)2O6−z series having reasonably high Seebeck coefficients and relatively low thermal conductivity, the electrical resistivity values of its members are too high to achieve high figure of merit, ZT.  相似文献

Transition metal complexes of type M(L)2(H2O)x were synthesized, where L is deprotonated Schiff base 2,4‐dihalo‐6‐(substituted thiazol‐2‐ylimino)methylphenol derived from the condensation of aminothiazole or its derivatives with 2‐hydroxy‐3‐halobenzaldehyde and M = Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ (x = 0 for Cu2+ and Zn2+; x = 2 for Co2+ and Ni2+). The synthesized Schiff bases and their metal complexes were thoroughly characterized using infrared, 1H NMR, electronic and electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopies, elemental analysis, molar conductance and magnetic susceptibility measurements, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The results reveal that the bidentate ligands form complexes having octahedral geometry around Co2+ and Ni2+ metal ions while the geometry around Cu2+ and Zn2+ metal ions is four‐coordinated. The geometries of newly synthesized Schiff bases and their metal complexes were fully optimized in Gaussian 09 using 6–31 + g(d,p) basis set. Fluorescence quenching data reveal that Zn(II) and Cu(II) complexes bind more strongly to bovine serum albumin in comparison to Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes. The ligands and their complexes were evaluated for in vitro antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 (Gram negative) and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213 (Gram positive) and cytotoxicity against lever hepatocellular cell line HepG2.  相似文献

The hippurates of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) were isolated from the solution, their quantitative composition and the way of coordination of metal — ligand were determined and the conditions and products of thermal decomposition during heating in air atmosphere up to 1273 K were studied. The complexes of Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) heated lose some water molecules and then decompose to MO. The hippurate of Co(II) heated loses some water molecules and then decomposes to CoO with intermediate formation Co3O4.

A simple, efficient and economically viable method for the Heck reaction has been accomplished in the absence of phosphine ligand. The Heck reaction was performed using nanostructured Ni-Co/ZnO material as a heterogeneous catalyst in a DMF/H2O solvent system and in the presence of K2CO3, at 120 °C. The Ni-Co/ZnO nanostructures were prepared by the facile reduction-impregnation method. The structural and morphological properties of Ni-Co/ZnO nanostructure were investigated using various physico-chemical characterization techniques. Structural studies displayed the formation of hexagonal (wurtzite) ZnO. Electron microscopy imaging showed the presence of agglomerated clusters of Ni-Co nanoparticles over the surfaces of elliptical, flower bud-like and irregularly shaped sub-micron sized particle bundles of ZnO. The elemental composition analysis (EDX) confirmed the loading of Ni and Co nanoparticles over the nanocrystalline ZnO. The surface chemical state analysis of Ni-Co/ZnO material validated that Ni nanostructure exists in Ni2+ and Ni3+ species, whereas, Co nanostructure exists in Co2+ and Co3+ species. UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy displays red shift in the light absorption edge of Ni-Co/ZnO catalyst compared to pure ZnO. The as-prepared Ni-Co bimetallic supported ZnO nanostructure showed better catalytic activity and stability for the Heck reactions under phosphine ligand-free conditions. Ni-Co/ZnO catalyzed Heck reactions afforded the corresponding cross-coupled products with moderate to good yields (up to 92%). Ni-Co/ZnO catalyst could be reused for five successive runs without significant loss of catalytic activity.

ZnO/Co3O4 porous nanocomposites were successfully fabricated by the thermal decomposition of Prussian Blue analogue (PBA) Zn3[Co(CN)6]2 nanospheres obtained at room temperature. Interestingly, ZnO/Co3O4 porous nanocomposites exhibit room‐temperature ferromagnetism. Moreover, the ZnO/Co3O4 porous nanocomposites show good catalytic activity for CO oxidation, and the CO conversion rate reaches 100 % at 250 °C. It is suggested that the synergistic effect of each component, relative high surface area (32 m2 g?1) and porous structure lead to the promising catalytic properties.  相似文献

Bimetallic oxalate-bridged complexes Q[MIICo(C2O4)3] (Q=Me4N+, Bun 4P+; MII=Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) were synthesized. Single crystals of [NBun 4][MnIICoIII(C2O4)3] were studied by XRD. Unit cell parametersa=b=9.242(3) Å,c=54.524(13) Å; space groupR3c. Magnetic measurements indicate the absence of a magnetic phase transition up to the temperature of liquid helium. The XRD data confirm the presence of CoIII ions with a low-spin configuration in the crystal.  相似文献

Using solid complex molecular precursor [bis(salicylaldehyde)ethylenediiminecobalt(II)], [Co(salen)], a simple and surfactant-free method to synthesize Co3O4 nanoparticles was proposed. Cubic-phase Co3O4 nanoparticles of size 30–50-nm could be produced by thermal treatment of the Co(salen) in the air at 500 °C for 5 h. The as-prepared samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The optical absorption spectrum indicates that the direct band gaps of Co3O4 nanoparticles are 1.53 and 2.02 eV. The optical property test indicates that the absorption peak of the nanoparticles shifts towards short wavelengths, and the blue shift phenomenon might be ascribed to the quantum effect. The hysteresis loops of the obtained samples reveal their ferromagnetic behavior, an enhanced coercivity (Hc) and a decreased saturation magnetization (Ms) as compared to their respective bulk materials.  相似文献

A novel naphthalenediol‐based bis(salamo)‐type tetraoxime compound (H4L) was designed and synthesized. Two new supramolecular complexes, [Cu3(L)(μ‐OAc)2] and [Co3(L)(μ‐OAc)2(MeOH)2]·4CHCl3 were synthesized by the reaction of H4L with Cu(II) acetate dihydrate and Co(II) acetate dihydrate, respectively, and were characterized by elemental analyses and X‐ray crystallography. In the Cu(II) complex, Cu1 and Cu2 atoms located in the N2O2 sites, and are both penta‐coordinated, and Cu3 atom is also penta‐coordinated by five oxygen atoms. All the three Cu(II) atoms have geometries of slightly distorted tetragonal pyramid. In the Co(II) complex, Co1 and Co3 atoms located in the N2O2 sites, and are both penta‐coordinated with geometries of slightly distorted triangular bipyramid and distorted tetragonal pyramid, respectively, while Co2 atom is hexa‐coordinated by six oxygen atoms with a geometry of slightly distorted octahedron. These self‐assembling complexes form different dimensional supramolecular structures through inter‐ and intra‐molecular hydrogen bonds. The coordination bond cleavages of the two complexes have occurred upon the addition of the H+, and have reformed again via the neutralization effect of the OH?. The changes of the two complexes response to the H+/OH? have observed in the UV–Vis and 1H NMR spectra.  相似文献

New N2O2 donor type Schiff bases have been designed and synthesized by condensing acetylaceto-4-aminoantipyrine/acetoacetanilido-4-aminoantipyrine with 2-amino benzoic acid in ethanol. Solid metal complexes of the Schiff bases with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II), Zn(II), VO(IV), Hg(II) and Cd(II) metal ions were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, molar conduction, FAB Mass, IR, UV-Vis., 1H NMR, and ESR spectral studies. The data show that the complexes have a composition of the ML type. The UV-Vis., magnetic susceptibility, and ESR spectral data of the complexes suggest a square planar geometry around the central metal ion, except for VO(IV) complexes, which have square-pyramidal geometry. The redox behavior of copper and vanadyl complexes has been studied by cyclic voltammetry. The nuclease activity of the above metal complexes shows that the complexes cleave DNA through redox chemistry. In the presence of H2O2, all the complexes are capable of cleaving calf thymus DNA plasmids, in order to compare the cleavage efficiency of all metal complexes in the two different ligand environments. In this assay, Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Zn(II) exhibit more cleavage efficiency than other metal ions. This article was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

The rapid development of internet and internet of things brings new opportunities for the expansion of intelligent sensors, and acetone as a major disease detection indicator(i.e.,diabetes) making it become extremely important clinical indicator.Herein, uniform mesoporous ZnO spheres were successfully synthesized via novel formaldehyde-assisted metal-ligand crosslinking strategy. In order to adjust the pore structure of mesoporous ZnO,various mesoporous ZnO spheres were synthesized by changing weight percentage of Zn(NO_3)_2·6 H_2 O to tannic acid(TA).Moreover, highly active heterojunction mesoporous ZnO/Co_3 O_4 has been fabricated based on as-prepared ultra-small Co_3 O_4 nanocrystals(ca.3 nm) and mesoporous ZnO spheres by flexible impregnation technique.Profit from nano-size effect and synergistic effect of p-n heterojunction, mesoporous ZnO/Co_3 O_4 exhibited excellent acetone sensing performance with high selectivity, superior sensitivity and responsiveness.Typically,5 wt% Co_3 O_4 embedded mesoporous ZnO sphere showed prominent acetone response(ca.46 for 50 ppm),which was about 11.5 times higher than that in pure ZnO sensing device, and it was also endowed high cyclic stability. The nanocrystals embedded hybrid material is expected to be used as promising efficient material in the field of catalysis and gas sensing.  相似文献

The complexes of 4-chloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid anion with Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ were obtained as polycrystalline solids with general formula M(C8H6ClO3)2·nH2O and colours typical for M(II) ions (Mn – slightly pink, Co – pink, Ni – slightly green, Cu – turquoise and Zn – white). The results of elemental, thermal and spectral analyses suggest that compounds of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) are tetrahydrates whereas those of Co(II) and Ni(II) are pentahydrates. The carboxylate groups in these complexes are monodentate. The hydrates of 4-chloro-2-methoxybenzoates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) heated in air to 1273 K are dehydrated in one step in the range of 323–411 K and form anhydrous salts which next in the range of 433–1212 K are decomposed to the following oxides: Mn3O4, CoO, NiO and ZnO. The final products of decomposition of Cu(II) complex are CuO and Cu. The solubility value in water at 293 K for all complexes is in the order of 10–3 mol dm–3. The plots of χM vs. temperature of 4-chloro-2-methoxybenzoates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) follow the Curie–Weiss law. The magnetic moment values of Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+ ions in these complexes were determined in the range of 76−303 K and they change from: 5.88–6.04 μB for Mn(C8H6ClO3)2·4H2O, 3.96–4.75 μB for Co(C8H6ClO3)2·5H2O, 2.32–3.02 μB for Ni(C8H6ClO3)2·5H2O and 1.77–1.94 μB for Cu(C8H6ClO3)2·4H2O.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 3-methylglutarates were prepared as solids with general formula MC6 H8 O4 ×n H2 O, where n =0–8. Their solubilities in water at 293 K were determined (7.0×10−2 −4.2×10−3 mol dm−3 ). The IR spectra were recorded and thermal decomposition in air was investigated. The IR spectra suggest that the carboxylate groups are mono- or bidentate. During heating the hydrated complexes lose some water molecules in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Cu) or two steps (Cd) and then mono- (Cu) or dihydrates (Mn, Co, Ni) decompose to oxides directly (Mn, Cu, Co) or with intermediate formation of free metals (Co, Ni). Anhydrous Zn(II) complex decomposes directly to the oxide ZnO. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Cobalt complexes are extensively studied as bioinspired models for non-heme oxygenases as they facilitate both the stabilization and characterization of metal-oxygen intermediates. As an analog to the well-known Co(cyclam) complex Co{N4} (cyclam=1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane), the CoII complex Co{i-N4} with the isomeric isocyclam ligand (isocyclam=1,4,7,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane) was synthesized and characterized. Despite the identical N4 donor set of both complexes, Co{i-N4} enables the 2e/2H+ reduction of O2 with a lower overpotential (ηeff of 385 mV vs. 540 mV for Co{N4} ), albeit with a diminished turnover frequency. Characterization of the intermediates formed upon O2 activation of Co{i-N4} reveals a structurally identified stable μ-peroxo CoIII dimer as the main product. A superoxo CoIII species is also formed as a minor product, as indicated by EPR spectroscopy. In further reactivity studies, the electrophilicity of these in situ generated Co−O2 species was demonstrated by the oxidation of the O−H bond of TEMPO−H (2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-ol) via a H atom abstraction process. Unlike the known Co(cyclam), Co{i-N4} can be employed in oxygen atom transfer reactions oxidizing triphenylphosphine to the corresponding phosphine oxide highlighting the impact of geometrical modifications of the ligand while preserving the ring size and donor atom set on the reactivity of biomimetic oxygen activating complexes.  相似文献

Abstract

Acetone [N-(3-hydroxy-2-naphthoyl)] hydrazone (H2AHNH) has been prepared and its structure confirmed by elemental analysis and 1H NMR spectroscopy. It has been used to produce diverse complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and U(VI)O2 ions. The complexes obtained have been investigated by thermal analysis, spectral studies (1H NMR, IR, UV–visible, ESR), and magnetic measurements. IR spectra suggest that H2AHNH acts as a bidentate ligand. The electronic spectra of the complexes and their magnetic moments provide information about geometries. The ESR spectra give evidence for the proposed structure and the bonding for some Cu(II) complexes. Thermal decomposition of the Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes afforded metal oxides as final products. Kinetic data were obtained for each stage of thermal degradation of some of the complexes using the Coats–Redfern method. The formation of complexes in solution was studied pH-metrically and the order of their stability constants (log K) was found to be U(VI)O2 > Cu(II) > Zn(II) > Ni(II) > Cd(II) > Co(II). Antimicrobial and eukaryotic DNA studies were carried out.  相似文献
