The limited knowledge on low-coordinate zero-valent transition-metal species has intrigued great synthetic efforts in developing ligand sets for their stabilization. While the combined ligand set of N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) with vinylsilanes was the only known ligand system amenable to the stabilization of three-coordinate formal zero-valent cobalt, iron, and manganese complexes, the exploration on other ligands has proved that the ligand set of NHCs with styrene is equally effective in stabilizing three-coordinate formal zero-valent metal complexes in the form of (NHC)M(η2-CH2CHPh)2 (NHC = IPr, IMes; M = Co, Fe, Mn). These styrene complexes can be prepared by the one-pot reactions of MCl2 with styrene, NHC and KC8, and have been characterized by various spectroscopic methods. Preliminary reactivity study indicated that the interaction of [(IMes)Fe(η2-CH2CHPh)2] with DippN3 produces the iron(IV) bisimido complex [(IMes)Fe(NDipp)2] and styrene, which hints at the utility of these zero-valent metal styene complexes as synthons of the mono-coordinate species (NHC)M(0).  相似文献

The N‐heterocyclic carbene–ytterbium(II) amides (NHC)2Yb[N(SiMe3)2]2 ( 1 : NHC: 1,3,4,5‐tetramethylimidazo‐2‐ylidene (IMe4); 2 : NHC: 1,3‐diisopropyl‐4,5‐dimethylimidazol‐2‐ylidene (IiPr)) and the NHC‐stabilized rare‐earth phosphide (IMe4)3Yb(PPh2)2 ( 3 ) have been synthesized and fully characterized. Complexes 1 – 3 are active precatalysts for the hydrophosphination of alkenes, alkynes, and dienes and exhibited much superior catalytic activity to that of the NHC‐free amide (THF)2Yb[N(SiMe)2]2. Complex 1 is the most active precursor among the three complexes. In particular, complex 1 can be recycled and recovered from the reaction media after the catalytic reactions. Furthermore, it was found that complex 3 could catalyze the polymerization of styrene to yield atactic polystyrenes with low molecular weights. To the best of our knowledge, complex 1 represents the first rare‐earth complex that can be recovered after catalytic reactions.  相似文献

Stable heteroleptic amido YbII and SmII complexes bearing aminoether–phenolate ligands and devoid of coordinated solvent have been structurally characterized. They afford highly active, chemoselective and, in the case of monoadditions, 100 % anti‐Markovnikov regiospecific catalysts (down to 0.04 mol % loading) for the hydrophosphination of styrene with PhPH2 under mild conditions.  相似文献

[{N^N}M(X)(thf)n] alkyl (X=CH(SiMe3)2) and amide (X=N(SiMe3)2) complexes of alkaline earths (M=Ca, Sr, Ba) and divalent rare earths (YbII and EuII) bearing an iminoanilide ligand ({N^N}?) are presented. Remarkably, these complexes proved to be kinetically stable in solution. X‐ray diffraction studies allowed us to establish size–structure trends. Except for one case of oxidation with [{N^N}YbII{N(SiMe3)2}(thf)], all these complexes are stable under the catalytic conditions and constitute effective precatalysts for the cyclohydroamination of terminal aminoalkenes and the intermolecular hydroamination and intermolecular hydrophosphination of activated alkenes. Metals with equal sizes across alkaline earth and rare earth families display almost identical apparent catalytic activity and selectivity. Hydrocarbyl complexes are much better catalyst precursors than their amido analogues. In the case of cyclohydroamination, the apparent activity decreases with metal size: Ca>Sr>Ba, and the kinetic rate law agrees with RCHA=k[precatalyst]1[aminoalkene]1. The intermolecular hydroamination and hydrophosphination of styrene are anti‐Markovnikov regiospecific. In both cases, the apparent activity increases with the ionic radius (Ca<Sr<Ba) but the rate laws are different, and obey RHA=k[styrene]1[amine]1[precatalyst]1 and RHP=k[styrene]1[HPPh2]0[precatalyst]1, respectively. Mechanisms compatible with the rate laws and kinetic isotopic effects are proposed. [{N^N}Ba{N(SiMe3)2}(thf)2] ( 3 ) and [{N^N}Ba{CH(SiMe3)2}(thf)2] ( 10 ) are the first efficient Ba‐based precatalysts for intermolecular hydroamination and hydrophosphination, and display activity values that are above those reported so far. The potential of the precatalysts for C? N and C? P bond formation is detailed and a rare cyclohydroamination–intermolecular hydroamination “domino” sequence is presented.  相似文献

The versatile coordination chemistry of the well‐investigated phosphoraneiminato‐ligand R3PN ( I ) was extended by the successive introduction of protons to the phosphorus atom. The position of the resulting equilibrium between the NH‐phosphanylamido‐ [R2P‐NH] and the PH‐phosphoraneiminato‐form [R2HP=N] is affected by the Lewis acidity of the coordinated metal fragment. Experimental studies on complexes with various substitution patterns at the group 4 metal center R2HP=N[M] ( II ) were unambiguously confirmed by DFT‐calculations. The isolation of group 4 PH‐dihydrido‐phosphoraneiminato‐complexes RH2P‐N[M] ( III ) is prevented by the low thermodynamic stability of the target molecules, also supported by the results of ab initio calculations. However, an access to the by then unknown transition‐metal substituted iminophosphanes RP=N[M] ( IV ) was verified for the first time. Within extensive studies on the coordination chemistry of bis(imino)phosphoranes RP(=NR′)(=NR″), several species of group 4 complexes R(R′N=)P=N[M] ( V ) were isolated and structurally characterized. In this case, investigations on the NH/PH‐tautomerism were performed exclusively on theoretical level, because the required educts are experimentally non‐accessible due to their kinetic instability.  相似文献

The reactions of imino phenols 3,5-But2-2-HOC6H2CH=NX (X = 8-C9H6N, 2-MeO-5-MeC6H3 and 2-PhOC6H4) with Sc(CH2SiMe3)3(THF)2 in toluene proceed with silane elimination and reductive alkylation of the CN group affording dimeric base-free monoalkyl scandium complexes. X-ray analysis of the two complexes revealed their dimeric structures due to μ-bridging amidophenolato dianions. The complexes catalyze hydrophosphination of styrene, phenylacetylene and tolane with Ph2PH as well as dehydrogenative coupling of anisole with hydrosilanes.  相似文献

Chelating phosphines have long been a mainstay as efficient directing ligands in transition-metal catalysis. Low-valent derivatives, namely chelating phosphinidenes, are to date unknown, and could lead to chelating complexes containing more than one metal centre due to the intrisic capacity of phosphinidenes to bind two metal fragments at one P-centre. Here we describe the synthesis of the first such chelating bis-phosphinidene ligand, XantP2 ( 2 ), generated by the reduction of a diphosphino xanthene derivative, Xant(PH2)2 ( 1 ) with iPrNHC (iPrNHC=[:C{N(iPr)C(H)}2]). Initial studies have shown that this novel chelating ligand can act as a bidentate ligand towards element dihalides (i.e. FeCl2, ZnI2, GeCl2, SnBr2), forming cationic complexes with the tetryl elements. In contrast, XantP2 demonstrates an ability to bind multiple metal centres in the reaction with CuCl, leading to a cationic Cu3P3 ring complex, with Cu centres bridged by phosphinidene arms. Density Functional Theory calculations show that 2 indeed holds 4 lone pairs of electrons, shedding further light on the coordination capacity for this novel ligand class through observation of directionality and hybridisation of these electron pairs.  相似文献

η2 π-Complexes of Ge2H2 with the organometallic fragments V(PH3)2(I)(CO)2, Cr(CO)4, Co(PH3)2(Cl) and M(PH3)2 (M = Ni, Pd, Pt) have been studied at the B3LYP level using the SBKJC relativistic effective core potentials and their associated basis sets on metals and iodine, and the 6-31G(d) basis set on all other elements. The transition metal fragments of V, Cr, Co, Ni, Pd and Pt were chosen based on known alkyne compounds. All the complexes are local minima for both the HGeGeH and GeGeH2 isomers of the Ge2H2 ligand. The complexes containing GeGeH2 isomer as a ligand are lower in energy than those with the HGeGeH ligand (except in the V complex in which the difference is only 1.0 kcal/mol). There is a net charge transfer from ligand to metal in complexes V-Co and from metal to ligand in late transition metal complexes (Ni-Pt).  相似文献

Based on 1‐amino‐4‐hydroxy‐triptycene, new saturated and unsaturated triptycene‐NHC (N‐heterocyclic carbene) ligands were synthesized from glyoxal‐derived diimines. The respective carbenes were converted into metal complexes [(NHC)MX] (M=Cu, Ag, Au; X=Cl, Br) and [(NHC)MCl(cod)] (M=Rh, Ir; cod=1,5‐cyclooctadiene) in good yields. The new azolium salts and metal complexes suffer from limited solubility in common organic solvents. Consequently, the introduction of solubilizing groups (such as 2‐ethylhexyl or 1‐hexyl by O‐alkylation) is essential to render the complexes soluble. The triptycene unit infers special steric properties onto the metal complexes that enable the steric shielding of selected areas close to the metal center. Next, chiral and meso‐triptycene based N‐heterocyclic carbene ligands were prepared. The key step in the synthesis of the chiral ligand is the Buchwald–Hartwig amination of 1‐bromo‐4‐butoxy‐triptycene with (1S,2S)‐1,2‐diphenyl‐1,2‐diaminoethane, followed by cyclization to the azolinium salt with HC(OEt)3. The analogous reaction with meso‐1,2‐diphenyl‐1,2‐diaminoethane provides the respective meso‐azolinium salt. Both the chiral and meso‐azolinium salts were converted into metal complexes including [(NHC)AuCl], [(NHC)RhCl(cod)], [(NHC)IrCl(cod)], and [(NHC)PdCl(allyl)]. An in situ prepared chiral copper complex was tested in the enantioselective borylation of α,β‐unsaturated esters and found to give an excellent enantiomeric ratio (er close to 90:10).  相似文献

Air‐ and moisture‐stable heterobimetallic tetrahedral clusters [Cp(CO)2MSiR]2 (M=Mo or W; R=SitBu3) were isolated from the reaction of N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) stabilized silyl(silylidene) metal complexes Cp(CO)2M=Si(SitBu3)NHC with a mild Lewis acid (BPh3). Alternatively, treatment of the NHC‐stabilized silylidene complex Cp(CO)2W=Si(SitBu3)NHC with stronger Lewis acids such as AlCl3 or B(C6F5)3 resulted in the reversible coordination of the Lewis acid to one of the carbonyl ligands. Computational investigations revealed that the dimerization of the intermediate metal silylidyne (M≡Si) complex to a tetrahedral cluster instead of a planar four‐membered ring is due to steric bulk.  相似文献

In an effort to develop new tripodal N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands for small molecule activation, two new classes of tripodal NHC ligands TIMER and TIMENR have been synthesized. The carbon-anchored tris(carbene) ligand system TIMER (R = Me, t-Bu) forms bi- or polynuclear metal complexes. While the methyl derivative exclusively forms trinuclear 3:2 complexes [(TIMEMe)2M3]3+ with group 11 metal ions, the tert-butyl derivative yields a dinuclear 2:2 complex [(TIMEt-Bu)2Cu2]2+ with copper(I). The latter complex shows both “normal” and “abnormal” carbene binding modes and accordingly, is best formulated as a bis(carbene)alkenyl complex. The nitrogen-anchored tris(carbene) ligands TIMENR (R = alkyl, aryl) bind to a variety of first-row transition metal ions in 1:1 stoichiometry, affording monomeric complexes with a protected reactivity cavity at the coordinated metal center. Complexes of TIMENR with Cu(I)/(II), Ni(0)/(I), and Co(I)/(II)/(III) have been synthesized. The cobalt(I) complexes with the aryl-substituted TIMENR (R = mesityl, xylyl) ligands show great potential for small molecule activation. These complexes activate for instance dioxygen to form cobalt(III) peroxo complexes that, upon reaction with electrophilic organic substrates, transfer an oxygen atom. The cobalt(I) complexes are also precursors for terminal cobalt(III) imido complexes. These imido complexes were found to undergo unprecedented intra-molecular imido insertion reactions to form cobalt(II) imine species. The molecular and electronic structures of some representative metal NHC complexes as well as the nature of the metal–carbene bond of these metal NHC complexes was elucidated by X-ray and DFT computational methods and are discussed briefly. In contrast to the common assumption that NHCs are pure σ-donors, our studies revealed non-negligible and even significant π-backbonding in electron-rich metal NHC complexes.  相似文献

Reaction of bromanil with N,N′‐dimesitylformamidine followed by deprotonation with NaN(SiMe3)2 afforded 1,1′,3,3′‐tetramesitylquinobis(imidazolylidene) ( 1 ), a bis(N‐heterocyclic carbene) (NHC) with two NHC moieties connected by a redox active p‐quinone residue, in 72 % yield of isolated compound. Bimetallic complexes of 1 were prepared by coupling to FcN3 ( 2 ) or FcNCS ( 3 ; Fc=ferrocenyl) or coordination to [M(cod)Cl] ( 4 a or 4 b , where M=Rh or Ir, respectively; cod=1,5‐cyclooctadiene). Treatment of 4 a and 4 b with excess CO(g) afforded the corresponding [M(CO)2Cl] complexes 5 a and 5 b , respectively. Analysis of 2 – 5 by NMR spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction indicated that the electron‐deficient quinone did not significantly affect the inherent spectral properties or coordination chemistry of the flanking imidazolylidene units, as compared to analogous NHCs. Infrared spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry revealed that decreasing the electron density at MLn afforded an increase in the stretching energy and a decrease in the reduction potential of the quinone, indicative of metal–quinone electronic interaction. Differential pulse voltammetry and chronoamperometry of the metal‐centered oxidations in 2 – 4 revealed two single, one‐electron peaks. Thus, the metal atoms bound to 1 are oxidized at indistinguishable potentials and do not appear electronically coupled. However, the metal–quinone interaction was used to increase the electron density at coordinated metal atoms. Infrared spectroelectrochemistry revealed that the average νCO values for 5 a and 5 b decreased by 14 and 15 cm?1, respectively, upon reduction of the quinone embedded within 1 . These shifts correspond to 10 and 12 cm?1 decreases in the Tolman electronic parameter of this ditopic ligand.  相似文献

A series of M(II) and M(IV) (M=Mo, W) alkyne adducts employing two 6-methylpyridine-2-thiolate (6-MePyS) ligands was synthesized and investigated towards the nucleophilic attack of PMe3 on the coordinated alkynes. For this approach, 2-butyne (C2Me2), phenylacetylene (HC2Ph), and diphenylacetylene (C2Ph2) were used. For the exploration of an intramolecular attack, but-3-yn-1-ol (HCCCH2CH2OH) was coordinated to the metal centers. A nucleophilic attack of PMe3 was observed in [W(CO)(HC2Ph)(6-MePyS)2] yielding an η2-vinyl compound. Reaction of [W(CO)(C2Ph2)(6-MePyS)2] with excess PMe3 resulted in the selective coordination of one molecule of PMe3 concomitant with decoordination of the nitrogen atom of one 6-MePyS ligand. In contrast, the W(IV) complexes did not react with PMe3. While no selectivity was observed in the reaction of the Mo(II) compounds with PMe3, alkynes in the Mo(IV) compounds were replaced by PMe3. Addition of Et3N to the but-3-yn-1-ol complexes did not lead to the anticipated formation of 2,3-dihydrofuran.  相似文献

A computational study of the interaction half‐sandwich metal fragments (metal = Re/W, electron count = d6), containing linear nitrosyl (NO+), carbon monoxide (CO), trifluorophosphine (PF3), N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands with alkanes are conducted using density functional theory employing the hybrid meta‐GGA functional (M06). Electron deficiency on the metal increases with the ligand in the order NHC < CO < PF3 < NO+. Electron‐withdrawing ligands like NO+ lead to more stable alkane complexes than NHC, a strong electron donor. Energy decomposition analysis shows that stabilization is due to orbital interaction involving charge transfer from the alkane to the metal. Reactivity and dynamics of the alkane fragment are facilitated by electron donors on the metal. These results match most of the experimental results known for CO and PF3 complexes. The study suggests activation of alkane in metal complexes to be facile with strong donor ligands like NHC. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

NHC adducts of the stannylene Trip2Sn (Trip=2,4,6‐triisopropylphenyl) were reacted with zero‐valent Ni, Pd, and Pt precursor complexes to cleanly yield the respective metal complexes featuring a three‐membered ring moiety Sn‐Sn‐M along with carbene transfer onto the metal and complete substitution of the starting ligands. Thus the easily accessible NHC adducts to stannylenes are shown to be valuable precursors for transition‐metal complexes with an unexpected Sn? Sn bond. The complexes have been studied by X‐ray diffraction and NMR spectroscopy as well as DFT calculations. The compounds featuring the structural motif of a distannametallacycle comprised of a [(NHC)2M0] fragment and Sn2Trip4 represent rare higher congeners of the well‐known olefin complexes. DFT calculations indicate the presence of a π‐type Sn–Sn interaction in these first examples for acyclic distannenes symmetrically coordinating to a zero‐valent transition metal.  相似文献

Noble metal single atoms coordinated with highly electronegative atoms, especially N and O, often suffer from an electron‐deficient state or poor stability, greatly limiting their wide application in the field of catalysis. Herein we demonstrate a new PH3‐promoted strategy for the effective transformation of noble metal nanoparticles (MNPs, M=Ru, Rh, Pd) at a low temperature (400 °C) into a class of thermally stabilized phosphorus‐coordinated metal single atoms (MPSAs) on g‐C3N4 nanosheets via the strong Lewis acid–base interaction between PH3 and the noble metal. Experimental work along with theoretical simulations confirm that the obtained Pd single atoms supported on g‐C3N4 nanosheets exist in the form of PdP2 with a novel electron‐rich feature, conceptionally different from the well‐known single atoms with an electron‐deficient state. As a result of this new electronic property, PdP2‐loaded g‐C3N4 nanosheets exhibit 4 times higher photocatalytic H2 production activity than the state‐of‐art N‐coordinated PdSAs supported on g‐C3N4 nanosheets. This enhanced photocatalytic activity of phosphorus‐coordinated metal single atoms with an electron‐rich state was quite general, and also observed for other active noble metal single atom catalysts, such as Ru and Rh.  相似文献

We report herein a detailed study of the use of porphyrins fused to imidazolium salts as precursors of N‐heterocyclic carbene ligands 1 M . Rhodium(I) complexes 6 M – 9 M were prepared by using 1 M ligands with different metal cations in the inner core of the porphyrin (M=NiII, ZnII, MnIII, AlIII, 2H). The electronic properties of the corresponding N‐heterocyclic carbene ligands were investigated by monitoring the spectroscopic changes occurring in the cod and CO ancillary ligands of [( 1 M )Rh(cod)Cl] and [( 1 M )Rh(CO)2Cl] complexes (cod=1,5‐cyclooctadiene). Porphyrin–NHC ligands 1 M with a trivalent metal cation such as MnIII and AlIII are overall poorer electron donors than porphyrin–NHC ligands with no metal cation or incorporating a divalent metal cation such as NiII and ZnII. Imidazolium salts 3 M (M=Ni, Zn, Mn, 2H) have also been used as NHC precursors to catalyze the ring‐opening polymerization of L ‐lactide. The results clearly show that the inner metal of the porphyrin has an important effect on the reactivity of the outer carbene.  相似文献

The synthesis and structural characterization of a series of platinum complexes, bearing N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC) and divinyltetramethylsiloxane (dvtms) as supporting ligands, are described. The reaction of commercially available Karstedt’s catalyst (Pt2{(η2-ViSiMe2)2O}3) with in situ generated NHC leads to monomeric platinum(0) complexes in which one NHC is bound to the metal center, as indicated by spectroscopic analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The relative reactivity trend for these complexes as catalysts for the hydrosilylation of alkenes is discussed in terms of NHC ligand steric properties.  相似文献

This short review describes a breakthrough provided by the synthesis of d6 metal complexes containing the intact molecules P4 and P4S3. The coordinated cage molecules acquire unexpected reactivity and undergo dismutation reactions in mild conditions in the presence of water. The outcomings are obtained either in form of free or coordinated molecules; the former are hypophosphorous and phosphorous acids, the latter comprise, besides phosphine, PH3, such species as thiophosphinous acid, PH2SH, diphosphane, P2H4, 1-hydroxytriphosphane, PH(OH)PHPH2 and 1,1,4-tris-hydroxytetraphosphane, P(OH)2PHPHPH(OH), which are either unknown or extremely reactive as free molecules. The formation of the above molecules provides a clue to the hydrolytic activation of the P4 and P4S3 cage molecules.  相似文献
