This paper considers the joint motion of an ideal fluid and a circular cylinder completely immersed in it at small times. It is assumed that the cylinder, which was initially at rest, moves in a horizontal direction with a constant acceleration. The dynamics of the internal and external free boundaries of the fluid at small times is studied. An asymptotic analysis of the form of the internal free surface near the separation points is performed. It is shown that at high acceleration of the circular cylinder, a large cavity is formed behind, with a strong perturbation of the external free surface of the fluid over the surface of the cylinder.  相似文献

This paper proposes a combustion model based on a turbulent flame speed closure (TFC) technique for large eddy simulation (LES) of premixed flames. The model was originally developed for the RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes equations) approach and was extended here to LES. The turbulent quantities needed for calculation of the turbulent flame speed are obtained at the sub grid level. This model was at first experienced via an test case and then applied to a typical industrial combustor with a swirl stabilized flame. The paper shows that the model is easy to apply and that the results are promising. Even typical frequencies of arising combustion instabilities can be captured. But, the use of compressible LES may also lead to unphysical pressure waves which have their origin in the numerical treatment of the boundary conditions.  相似文献

An experimental investigation is conducted of the propagation and mixing of a transverse sonic jet injected into a supersonic gas stream through a circular hole in a plate. The picture of the interaction at the initial section of the injected jet is examined in the majority of papers devoted to this question [1–3]. The aim of this paper is to investigate the mixing of the injected jet with the free stream, and to establish criteria governing the jet insertion and mixing processes.  相似文献

The paper reports an exact kinematics for the squeezing flow from a cone of a general viscoelastic fluid. To obtain numerical values for the stresses, a network model that allows stress overshoot and shear-thinning in the start-up of a shear flow is adopted. Both these features are important in this flow. For the special case of an Oldroyd-B fluid it is shown that there is a limiting Weissenberg number above which at least one component of the stresses increases unboundedly with time.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to report the blast loading characteristics resulting from the detonation of a stoichiometric propane–oxygen mixture, and to validate the approach which relies on simulating TNT explosions at large scale by small-scale experiments of gaseous explosions. Several dimensionless correlations are obtained from experimental data. These relationships allow determination of the parameters of a blast wave interacting with a structure as a function of the positions of the explosive charge and the structure. Simulations carried out with the Autodyn code show good correlation with experimental results. The Hopkinson law is suggested to predict the blast wave’s parameters at large scale on the basis of small-scale experiments and simulations. Results are presented of an experimental study of the expansion of an axisymmetric heated gas jet in a uniform external wake flow. Using the method of singular integral equation and the crack-cutting technique, the rigorous solutions are obtained for a cylinder with a rectangular hole and a rectangular cylinder with a crack, which exactly satisfy the boundary conditions and the conditions at the corner points. After that the torsional rigidities and the stress intensity factors at the crack tip are determined. Next, for the doubly connected circular cylinder with a rectangular hole the expressions for the singular stresses around the concave corner points are derived and the generalized stress intensity factors are then defined. Since the crack-cutting technique is used in this paper, the solution of the matching rectangular cylinder is also obtained and its numerical results coincide with those in references. This paper describes a method for the numerical solution of a Riabouchinsky cavity flow. Application of a boundary element method leads to a system of non-linear equations. The mild singularity appearing at the separation point is treated with the introduction of a curved boundary element, which satisfies the exact behaviour of the free boundary in that neighbourhood.  相似文献

Summary The steady laminar flow of a viscous incompressible fluid through a two-dimensional channel, having fluid sucked or injected with different velocities through its uniformly porous parallel walls is considered. A solution for small suction Reynolds number has been given by the authors in a previous paper. The purpose of this paper is to present a solution valid for large Reynolds numbers for the cases of (i) suction at both walls, and (ii) suction at one wall and injection at the other. A technique of matching outer and inner expansions is used to obtain an asymptotic solution for both of these cases. Further a perturbation solution for the case of suction at one wall and injection at the other is obtained by choosing the difference between two wall velocities as the perturbation parameter. Both asymptotic and perturbation solutions are confirmed by exact numerical solutions. As expected, the resulting solutions show the presence of the usual suction boundary layers in both types of flow considered in this paper.  相似文献

This paper addresses the spin-up from rest of a free-surface fluid confined in a cylindrical container with a semicircular cross-section. The flow in the various stages of the spin-up process has been calculated numerically by using the finite-volume technique on a three-dimensional grid. Local grid refinement was applied in order to capture the effects of the boundary layer at the lateral boundaries and of the Ekman layer at the bottom. The numerical results agree very well with laboratory observations.  相似文献

This note deals with the problem of a penny-shaped hydraulic fracture propagating in an impermeable elastic solid. Growth of the fracture is driven by injection of an incompressible Newtonian fluid at the center of the fracture. The solution is restricted to the so-called viscosity-dominated regime where it can be assumed that the solid has zero toughness. The paper describes the construction of a semi-analytical similarity solution, which incorporates the known singularity of the fluid pressure at the center of the fracture and at the tip and which is based on series expansions of the fracture opening and fluid pressure in terms of Jacobi polynomials.  相似文献

This paper consideres the behavior of a semi-infinite ice cover on the surface of an ideal incompressible fluid of finite depth under the action of a load moving with constant velocity along the edge of the cover at some distance from it. The ice cover is modeled by a thin elastic plate of constant thickness. In a moving coordinate system, the deflection of the plate is assumed to be steady. An analytic solution of the problem is obtained using the Wiener–Hopf technique. The wave forces, the deflection of the plate, and the elevation of the free surface of the fluid at different velocities of the load are investigated.  相似文献

采用"契合"的思想,给出了地下孔洞与地面上的半圆形凸起地形对SH波散射问题的 解答. 将整个求解区域分割成两部分来处理. 其一为包括半圆形凸起地形在内的一个圆形区 域I,其余为区域II. 在区域I和II中分别构造位移解,并在两个区域的"公共边界"上 实施"契合". 在区域I中构造一个上半部边界应力为零,而其余部分位移、应力任意的驻 波解,在区域II中构造出半圆形凹陷和浅埋圆孔的散射波,且要求它满足水平界面上应力 为零的约束条件. 然后再通过移动坐标,满足"公共边界"的"契合"条件和地下孔洞的边 界条件,建立起求解该问题的无穷代数方程组. 最后,给出了分析例题和数值结果,并 对其进行了讨论.  相似文献

The interaction problem between a screw dislocation and a piezoelectric fiber composite with a semi-infinite wedge crack is investigated in this paper. The piezoelectric media are assumed to be transversely isotropic with the poling direction along the x 3 direction. The screw dislocation considered here involves a Burgers vector parallel to the poling direction with a line force and a line charge being applied at the core of the dislocation. Both cases of the screw dislocation located at the matrix and inclusion are observed. The analytical derivation is based on the complex variable and the conformal mapping methods. The exact solutions are obtained to calculate the forces on the dislocation and the crack-tip stress and electric displacement intensity factors. Based on these results, the anti-shielding and shielding effects for different loadings, material combinations, and geometric configurations are discussed in detail.  相似文献

In this paper the equation of motion is solved when the shear modulus and density are functions of r and z and the latter part of this paper contains an analysis of the interaction of torsional waves normally with penny-shaped crack located in a thick infinite elastic fibre. The infinite elastic fibre is bonded to an infinite elastic matrix. The matrix and the thick elastic fibre are non-homogeneous and are of dissimilar materials. The solution of the problem is reduced to a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind, which is solved numerically. The numerical solution is used to calculate the stress intensity factor at the rim of the penny-shaped crack. Finally the results of the stress intensity factors are displayed graphically.  相似文献

Multi-scale vibratory energy exchange between a main oscillator including Saint-Venant term and a cubic non-linear energy sink is studied. Analytically obtained invariant manifold of the system at a fast time scale and detected fixed points and/or fold singularities at a first slow time scale let us predict and explain different regimes that the system may face during the energy exchange process. The paper will be accompanied by some numerical results confirming our analytical predictions.  相似文献
