In this paper we prove a new theorem, and establish a new sufficient condition for periodicity of a more restricted and better classified third-order system obeying the following third-order ordinary differential equation.

In order to obtain conditions that guarantee the existence of periodic solutions and stable responses, the Schauder's fixed-point theorem has been implemented to prove the third-order periodic theorem for the differential equation.We show the applicability of the new third-order existence theorem by analyzing an independent suspension for conventional vehicles has been modeled as a non-linear vibration absorber with a non-linear third-order ordinary differential equation.Furthermore a numerical method has been developed for rapid convergence, and applied for a sample model. The correctness of sufficient conditions and solution algorithm has been shown with appropriate figures.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is devoted to generalizing the results of Browder [1,2]. This paper consists of four parts. In the first part, we introduce the concepts of multivalued (S) and (S) type mappings and the concepts of the limits of multivalued (S) and (S) type mappings. These kinds of mappings contain many monotone type mappings, such as maximal monotone mapping, bounded pseudo-monotone mapping and bounded generalized pseudo-monotone mapping, as its special cases. In the second part we define the pseudo-degree for (S) type mapping and the degree for (S) + type mapping. Explicit expression of derivatives of elastic Green’s functions for general anisotropic materials

The analytical expressions of Green’s function and their derivatives for three-dimensional anisotropic materials are presented here. By following the Fourier integral solutions developed by Barnett [Phys. Stat. Sol. (b) 49 (1972) 741], we characterize the contour integral formulations for the derivatives into three types of integrals H, M, and N. With Cauchy’s residues theorem and the roots of a sextic equation from Stroh eigenrelation, these integrals can be solved explicitly in terms of the Stroh eigenvalues Pi (i=1,2,3) on the oblique plane whose normal is the position vector. The results of Green’s functions and stress distributions for a transversely isotropic material are discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Building generalized open boundary conditions for fluid dynamics problems

This paper deals with the design of an efficient open boundary condition (OBC) for fluid dynamics problems. Such problematics arise, for instance, when one solves a local model on a fine grid that is nested in a coarser one of greater extent. Usually, the local solution Uloc is computed from the coarse solution Uext, thanks to an OBC formulated as , where Bh and BH are discretizations of the same differential operator (Bh being defined on the fine grid and BH on the coarse grid). In this paper, we show that such an OBC cannot lead to the exact solution, and we propose a generalized formulation , where g is a correction term. When Bh and BH are discretizations of a transparent operator, g can be computed analytically, at least for simple equations. Otherwise, we propose to approximate g by a Richardson extrapolation procedure. Numerical test cases on a 1D Laplace equation and on a 1D shallow water system illustrate the improved efficiency of such a generalized OBC compared with usual ones. Energy principle of ferroelectric ceramics and single domain mechanical model

Many physical experiments have shown that the domain switching in a ferroelectric material is a complicated evolution process of the domain wall with the variation of stress and electric field. According to this mechanism, the volume fraction of the domain switching is introduced in the constitutive law of ferroelectric ceramic and used to study the nonlinear constitutive behavior of ferroelectric body in this paper. The principle of stationary total energy is put forward in which the basic unknown quantities are the displacement u i , electric displacement D i and volume fraction ρ I of the domain switching for the variant I. Mechanical field equation and a new domain switching criterion are obtained from the principle of stationary total energy. The domain switching criterion proposed in this paper is an expansion and development of the energy criterion. On the basis of the domain switching criterion, a set of linear algebraic equations for the volume fraction ρ I of domain switching is obtained, in which the coefficients of the linear algebraic equations only contain the unknown strain and electric fields. Then a single domain mechanical model is proposed in this paper. The poled ferroelectric specimen is considered as a transversely isotropic single domain. By using the partial experimental results, the hardening relation between the driving force of domain switching and the volume fraction of domain switching can be calibrated. Then the electromechanical response can be calculated on the basis of the calibrated hardening relation. The results involve the electric butterfly shaped curves of axial strain versus axial electric field, the hysteresis loops of electric displacement versus electric filed and the evolution process of the domain switching in the ferroelectric specimens under uniaxial coupled stress and electric field loading. Lamb's integral formulas of two-phase saturated medium for soil dynamic with drainage

When dynamic force is applied to a saturated porous soil, drainage is common. In this paper, the saturated porous soil with a two-phase saturated medium is simulated, and Lamb's integral formulas with drainage and stress formulas for a two-phase saturated medium are given based on Biot's equation and Betti's theorem (the reciprocal theorem). According to the basic solution to Biot's equation, Green's function Gij and three terms of Green's function G4i, Gi4, and G44 of a two-phase saturated medium subject to a concentrated force on a spherical coordinate are presented. The displacement field with drainage, the magnitude of drainage, and the pore pressure of the center explosion source are obtained in computation. The results of the classical Sharpe's solutions and the solutions of the two-phase saturated medium that decays to a single-phase medium are compared. Good agreement is observed.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove a stability result for measure perturbations of some class of stationary distributions of a Vlasov equation. We use this result to prove that the N particles approximation of these stationary distributions is uniformly valid on a time scale of order N 1/8, which is much longer than the usual log N scale. This paper proposes a new approach to investigate the nonlinear dynamics in a (3 + 1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation via Wronskian condition with a free function. Firstly, a Wronskian condition involving a free function is introduced for the equation. Secondly, by solving the Wronskian condition, some exact solutions are presented. Thirdly, the dynamical behaviors are analyzed by choosing specific functions in the Wronskian condition. In addition, some exact solutions are graphically illustrated by using Mathematica symbolic computations. The dynamical behaviors include stationary y-breather, line-soliton resonance, line-soliton-like phenomenon, parabola–soliton interaction, cubic–parabola–soliton resonance, kink behavior, and singular waves. These results not only illustrate the merits of the proposed method in deriving new exact solutions but also novel dynamical behaviors in the (3 + 1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation.

The new concepts of the Z-C-X space and excellent cone are introduced. Some problems of random semiclosed 1-set-contractive operator are investigated in the Z-C-X space. At first, an important inequality is proved. Secondly, several new conclusions are proved by means of random fixed point index in the theory of random topological degree. A random solution of a class of random operator equations under conditions of imitating the parallelogram law is obtained, famous Altman’s theorem is generalized in partially ordered Z-C-X space. We give an alternative proof of the theorem, which states that no propagation failure occurs for the discrete Nagumo equation with “translationally invariant” stationary monotonic fronts. The theorem was recently proved with the use of the invariant manifolds for lattice differential equations by Hupkes, Pelinovsky, and Sandstede. The alternative proof relies on the analysis of the advance-delay operator associated with the translationally invariant stationary front. This operator exhibits an infinite-dimensional kernel spanned by Fourier harmonics of front’s translations, which are accounted when the stationary front is continued into the traveling one.  相似文献

We consider the motion of a viscous fluid filling the whole three-dimensional space exterior to a rotating obstacle with constant angular velocity. We develop the L p -L q estimates and the similar estimates in the Lorentz spaces of the Stokes semigroup with rotation effect. We next apply them to the Navier–Stokes equation to prove the global existence of a unique solution which goes to a stationary flow as t → ∞ with some definite rates when both the stationary flow and the initial disturbance are sufficiently small in L 3,∞ (weak-L 3 space).  相似文献

Introducing a new localization method involving Bogovskiĭ's operator we give a short and new proof for maximal LpLq-estimates for the solution of the Stokes equation.
