The surface waves generated by unsteady concentrated disturbances in an initially quiescent fluid of infinite depth with an inertial surface are analytically investigated for two- and three-dimensional cases. The fluid is assumed to be inviscid, incompressible and homogenous. The inertial surface represents the effect of a thin uniform distribution of non-interacting floating matter. Four types of unsteady concentrated disturbances and two kinds of initial values are considered, namely an instantaneous/oscillating mass source immersed in the fluid, an instantaneous/oscillating impulse on the surface, an initial impulse on the surface of the fluid, and an initial displacement of the surface. The linearized initial-boundary-value problem is formulated within the framework of potential flow. The solutions in integral form for the surface elevation are obtained by means of a joint Laplace-Fourier transform. The asymptotic representations of the wave motion for large time with a fixed distance- to-time ratio are derived by using the method of stationary phase. The effect of the presence of an inertial surface on the wave motion is analyzed. It is found that the wavelengths of the transient dispersive waves increase while those of the steady-state progressive waves decrease. All the wave amplitudes decrease in comparison with those of conventional free-surface waves. The explicit expressions for the freesurface gravity waves can readily be recovered by the present results as the inertial surface disappears.  相似文献

The effect of disturbed flow on the mass transfer from arterial surface to flowing blood was studied numerically, and the results were compared with that of our previous work. The arterial wall was assumed to be viscoelastic and the blood was assumed to be incompressible and non-Newtonian fluid, which is more close to human arterial system.Numerical results indicated that the mass transfer from the arterial surface to flowing blood in regions of disturbed flow is positively related with the wall shear rates and it is significantly enhanced in regions of disturbed flow with a local minimum around the reattachment point which is higher than the average value of the downstream. Therefore,it may be implied that the accumulation of cholesterol or lipids within atheromatous plaques is not caused by the reduced efflux of cholesterol or lipids, but by the infiltration of the LDL(low-density lipoprotein) from the flowing blood to the arterial wall.  相似文献

The theory of an eddy viscosity model is applied to the study of the flow in a compound channel which is partially vegetated. The governing equation is constituted by analyzing the longitudinal forces acting on the unit volume where the effect of the vegetation on the flow is considered as a drag force item, The compound channel is divided into 3 sub-regions in the transverse direction, and the coefficients in every region's differential equations were solved simultaneously. Thus, the analytical solution of the transverse distribution of the depth-averaged velocity for uniform flow in a partially vegetated compound channel was obtained. The results can be used to predict the transverse distribution of bed shear stress, which has an important effect on the transportation of sediment. By comparing the analytical results with the measured data, the analytical solution in this paper is shown to be sufficiently accurate to predict most hydraulic features for engineering design purposes.  相似文献

Hydraulic transient, which is resulted from sudden increase of inlet pressure for laminar pipeline flow, is studied. The partial differential equation, initial and boundary conditions for transient pressure were constructed, and the theoretical solution was obtained by variable-separation method. The partial differential equation, initial and boundary conditions for flow rate were obtained in accordance with the constraint correlation between flow rate and pressure while the transient flow rate distribution was also solved by variable-separation method. The theoretical solution conforms to numerical solution obtained by method of characteristics (MOC) very well.  相似文献

This paper presents an analysis for the unsteady flow of an incompressible Maxwell fluid in an oscillating rectangular cross section.By using the Fourier and Laplace transforms as mathematical tools, the solutions are presented as a sum of the steady-state and transient solutions. For large time, when the transients disappear, the solution is represented by the steady-state solution. The solutions for the Newtonian fluids appear as limiting cases of the solutions obtained here.In the absence of the frequency of oscillations,we obtain the problem for the flow of the Maxwell fluid in a duct of a rectangular cross-section moving parallel to its length. Finally, the required time to reach the steady-state for sine oscillations of the rectangular duct is obtained by graphical illustrations for different parameters. Moreover, the graphs are sketched for the velocity.  相似文献

The boundary layer flow and heat transfer analysis of an incompressible viscous fluid for a hyperbolically stretching sheet is presented. The analytical and numerical results are obtained by a series expansion method and a local non-similarity (LNS) method, respectively. The analytical and numerical results for the skin friction and the Nusselt number are calculated and compared with each other. The significant observation is that the momentum and the thermal boundary layer thickness decrease as the distance from the leading edge increases. The well-known solution of linear stretching is found as the leading order solution for the hyperbolic stretching.  相似文献

Higher order Boussinesq-type equations for water waves on uneven bottom   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8
Higher order Boussinesq-type equations for wave propagation over variable bathymetry were derived. The time dependent free surface boundary conditions were used to compute the change of the free surface in time domain. The free surface velocities and the bottom velocities were connected by the exact solution of the Laplace equation. Taking the velocities on half relative water depth as the fundamental unknowns, terms relating to the gradient of the water depth were retained in the inverse series expansion of the exact solution, with which the problem was closed. With enhancements of the finite order Taylor expansion for the velocity field, the application range of the present model was extended to the slope bottom which is not so mild. For linear properties, some validation computations of linear shoaling and Booij' s tests were carried out. The problems of wave-current interactions were also studied numerically to test the performance of the enhanced Boussinesq equations associated with the effect of currents. All these computational results confirm perfectly to the theoretical solution as well as other numerical solutions of the full potential problem available.  相似文献

The nonlinear dynamic control equation of a flexible multi-body system with definite moving attitude is discussed. The motion of the aircraft in space is regarded as known and the influence of the flexible structural members in the aircraft on the motion and attitude of the aircraft is analyzed.By means of a hypothetical mode, the defor- mation of flexible members is regarded as composed of the line element vibration in the axial direction of rectangular coordinates in space.According to Kane’s method in dy- namics,a dynamic equation is established, which contains the structural stiffness matrix that represents the elastic deformation and the geometric stiffness matrix that represents the nonlinear deformation of the deformed body.Through simplification the dynamic equation of the influence of the planar flexible body with a windsurfboard structure on the spacecraft motion is obtained. The numerical solution for this kind of equation can be realized by a computer.  相似文献

In this research, the three-dimensional(3D)steady and incompressible laminar Homann stagnation point nanofluid flow over a porous moving surface is addressed. The disturbance in the porous medium has been characterized by the Darcy-Forchheimer relation. The slip for viscous fluid is considered. The energy equation is organized in view of radiative heat flux which plays an important role in the heat transfer rate. The governing flow expressions are first altered into first-order ordinary ones and then solved numerically by the shooting method.Dual solutions are obtained for the velocity, skin friction coefficient, temperature, and Nusselt number subject to sundry flow parameters, magnetic parameter,Darcy-Forchheimer number, thermal radiation parameter, suction parameter, and dimensionless slip parameter. In this research, the main consideration is given to the engineering interest like skin friction coefficient(velocity gradient or surface drag force)and Nusselt number(temperature gradient or heat transfer rate)and discussed numerically through tables. In conclusion,it is noticed from the stability results that the upper branch solution(UBS)is more reliable and physically stable than the lower branch solution(LBS).  相似文献

The hemodynamic mechanism of rolling manipulation (RM) of traditional Chinese medical massage (TCMM) is investigated. An axisymmetrical nonlinear model and an arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian finite element method (ALE-FEM) with rezoning algorithm were introduced to study the viscous flow through an axisymmetrical rigid tube with axially moving stenosis to simulate the rolling manipulation. Flow rate and wall shear stress were obtained by solving complete Navier-Stokes equations numerically. The numerical results show that the stenosis moving frequency, namely the frequency of rolling manipulation, has great effect on the disturbance of flow and the wall shear stress. The stenosis coefficient, which characterizes the severity of the stenosis, another adjustable parameter in rolling manipulation, also shows the significant effect on flow rate and wall shear stress. These numerical results may provide some data that can be taken into consideration when massage is used in clinic.  相似文献

Transient Marangoni Waves Due to Impulsive Motion of a Submerged Body   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The Oseen problem in a viscous fluid is formulated for studying the transient free-surface and Marangoni waves generated by the impulsive motion of a submerged body beneath a surface with surfactants. Wave asymptotics and wavefronts for large Reynolds numbers are obtained by employing Lighthill's two-stage scheme. The results obtained show explicitly the effects of viscosity and surfactants on Kelvin wakes  相似文献

The interaction of unsteady Stokeslets with the free surface of an initially quiescent incompressible fluid of infinite depth is investigated analytically for two- and three-dimensional cases. The disturbed flows are generated by an unsteady singular force moving perpendicularly downwards away from the surface. The analysis is based on the assumption that the motion satisfies the linearized unsteady Navier–Stokes equations with linear kinematic and dynamic boundary conditions. Firstly, the asymptotic representation for the transient free-surface waves due to an instantaneous Stokeslet is derived for a large time with a fixed distance-to-time ratio. As is well known, the corresponding inviscid waves predicted by the potential theory do not decay to zero as the time goes to infinity. In the present study, the transient waves predicted by the viscous theory eventually vanish due to the presence of viscosity, which is consistent with reality from the physical point of view. Secondly, the asymptotic solutions are obtained for the unsteady free-surface waves due to a harmonically oscillating Stokeslet. It is found that the unsteady waves can be decomposed into steady-state and transient responses. The steady state can be attained as time approaches infinity. It is shown that the viscosity of the fluid plays an important role in the evolution of the singularity-induced waves.  相似文献

The method of force sources is used to consider the planar problem of the motion of a circular cylinder in a viscous electroconductive medium with a magnetic field. The conventional and magnetic Reynolds numbers are assumed to be small. Expressions are obtained for the hydrodynamic reaction forces of the medium, acting on the moving cylinder. It is shown that as a result of the flow anisotropy in the medium, caused by the magnetic field, in addition to the resistance forces on bodies moving at an angle to the field, there are deflecting forces perpendicular to the velocity vector. The velocity field disturbances at great distances from the moving cylinder are determined. The problems of viscous electroconductive flow about solid bodies in the presence of a magnetic field constitute one of the divisions of magnetohydrodynamics. Motion of an electroconductive medium in a magnetic field gives rise to inductive electromagnetic fields and currents which interact with the velocity and pressure hydrodynamic fields in the medium [1, 2]. Under conditions of sufficiently strong interaction, the number of independent flow similarity parameters in MHD is considerably greater than in conventional hydrodynamics. This circumstance complicates the theoretical analysis of MHD flow about bodies, and therefore we must limit ourselves to consideration of individual particular flow cases. Here we consider the linear problem of the motion of an infinite circular cylinder in a viscous incompressible medium with finite electroconductivity located in a uniform magnetic field. There are many studies devoted to the flow of a viscous electroconductive medium with a magnetic field about solid bodies (see, for example, [3–5]). Because of this, some of the results obtained here include previously known results, which will be indicated below. In contrast to the cited studies, the examination is made by the method of force sources, suggested in [6]. This method permits obtaining integral equations for the distribution of the forces acting on the surface of the moving body. Their solution is obtained for small Reynolds and Hartmann numbers. Then the nature of the velocity disturbances at great distances from the body are determined. These results are compared with conventional viscous flow about a cylinder in the Oseen approximation.  相似文献

Two-dimensional free-surface potential flow past a ship in water of finite depth is considered. The ship is modelled as a symmetrical rectilinear body with inclined faces. Gravity is included in the dynamic boundary condition. It is assumed that the intersections of the free surface with the hull are stagnation points. Numerical solutions are obtained by a series truncation procedure when the flow is supercritical in the far field. It is found that there is a two-parameter family of splashless solutions. Some of the solutions can be viewed as perturbations of solitary waves.  相似文献

The free-surface shape and cusp formation are analyzed by considering a viscous flow arising from the superposition of a source/sink and vortex below the free surface where the strength of the source and vortex are arbitrary. In the analysis, Stokes’ approximation is used and surface tension effects are included, but gravity is neglected. The solution is obtained analytically by using conformal mapping and complex function theory. From the solution, shapes of the free surface are obtained, and the formation of a cusp on the free surface is discussed. Above some critical capillary number with a sink, the free-surface shape becomes singular and an apparent cusp should form on the free surface below a real fluid. On the other hand, no cusp would occur for sources of zero or positive strength. Typical streamline patterns are also shown for some capillary numbers. As the capillary number vanishes, the solution is reduced to a linearized potential flow solution.  相似文献

Two-dimensional solitary waves generated by disturbances moving near the critical speed in shallow water are computed by a time-stepping procedure combined with a desingularized boundary integral method for irrotational flow. The fully non-linear kinematic and dynamic free-surface boundary conditions and the exact rigid body surface condition are employed. Three types of moving disturbances are considered: a pressure on the free surface, a change in bottom topography and a submerged cylinder. The results for the free surface pressure are compared to the results computed using a lower-dimensional model, i.e. the forced Korteweg–de Vries (fKdV) equation. The fully non-linear model predicts the upstream runaway solitons for all three types of disturbances moving near the critical speed. The predictions agree with those by the fKdV equation for a weak pressure disturbance. For a strong disturbance, the fully non-linear model predicts larger solitons than the fKdV equation. The fully non-linear calculations show that a free surface pressure generates significantly larger waves than that for a bottom bump with an identical non-dimensional forcing function in the fKdV equation. These waves can be very steep and break either upstream or downstream of the disturbance.  相似文献

The dynamic responses of an ice-covered fluid to impulsive disturbances are analytically investigated for two- and three-dimensional cases. The initially quiescent fluid of infinite depth is assumed to be inviscid, incompressible and homogenous. The thin ice-cover is modelled as a homogenous elastic plate with negligible inertia. Four types of impulsive concentrated disturbances are considered, namely an instantaneous mass source immersed in the fluid, an instantaneously dynamic load on the plate, an initial impulse on the surface of the fluid, and an initial displacement of the ice plate. The linearized initial-boundary-value problem is formulated within the framework of potential flow. The solutions in integral form for the vertical deflexions at the ice-water interface are obtained by means of a joint Laplace-Fourier transform. The asymptotic representations of the wave motions for large time with a fixed distance-to-time ratio are derived by making use of the method of stationary phase. It is found that there exists a minimal group velocity and the wave system observed depends on the moving speed of the observer. For an observer moving with the speed larger than the minimal group velocity, there exist two trains of waves, namely the long gravity waves and the short flexural waves, the latter riding on the former. Moreover, the deflexions of the ice-plate for an observer moving with a speed near the minimal group velocity are expressed in terms of the Airy functions. The effects of the presence of an ice-cover on the resultant wave amplitudes, the wavelengths and periods are discussed in detail. The explicit expressions for the free-surface gravity waves can readily be recovered by the present results as the thickness of ice-plate tends to zero.  相似文献

The calculation of the diffusive flux of matter to the surface of a body in a fluid stream is one of the basic problems of physicochemical hydrodynamics and finds application in chemical macrokinetics [1].The limiting diffusive flux to a solid spherical particle in a viscous incompressible fluid flow was calculated by Levich [2] under Stokes flow conditions, i.e., for Reynolds numbers R0.In the following we obtain the solution of this problem for finite Reynolds numbers. The solution is based on the results of a determination of the flow field by matching the asymptotic outer (Oseen) and inner (Stokes) expansions of the stream function [2]. Comparison with numerical calculations and experiments [3] shows that the solution obtained with this method describes very well the flow past the sphere over a wide range of values of R.  相似文献

The previously proposed theory of bed load motion by fluid flow is developed. A plane system of equations for bed perturbations is obtained using a formula for the sediment transport rate which takes into account the effect of free-surface perturbations on sediment transport and is extended to the two-dimensional case. Dependences of the lengths and velocities of longitudinal and transverse waves with the most rapidly increasing amplitude on Froude number are determined. The effect of macroturbulent viscosity and surface waves on the generation of bed waves is determined.  相似文献
