In this paper, we consider an extended nonlinear Schrödinger equation that includes fifth-order dispersion with matching higher-order nonlinear terms. Via the modified Darboux transformation and Joukowsky transform, we present the superregular breather (SRB), multipeak soliton and hybrid solutions. The latter two modes appear as a result of the higher-order effects and are converted from a SRB one, which cannot exist for the standard NLS equation. These solutions reduce to a small localized perturbation of the background at time zero, which is different from the previous analytical solutions. The corresponding state transition conditions are given analytically. The relationship between modulation instability and state transition is unveiled. Our results will enrich the dynamics of nonlinear waves in a higher-order wave system.  相似文献

Based on temporal rescaling and harmonic balance, an extended asymptotic perturbation method for parametrically excited two-degree-of-freedom systems with square and cubic nonlinearities is proposed to study the nonlinear dynamics under 1:2 internal resonance. This asymptotic perturbation method is employed to transform the two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear systems into a four-dimensional nonlinear averaged equation governing the amplitudes and phases of the approximation solutions. Linear stable analysis at equilibrium solutions of the averaged equation is done to show bifurcations of periodic motion and homoclinic motions. Furthermore, analytical expressions of homoclinic orbits and heteroclinic cycles for the averaged equation without dampings are obtained. Considering the action of the damping, the bifurcations of limit cycles are also investigated. A concrete example is further provided to discuss the correctness and accuracy of the extended asymptotic perturbation method in the case of small-amplitude motion for the two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear system.  相似文献

Propagation of nonlinear strain waves through a layered composite material is considered. The governing macroscopic wave equation for the long-wave case was obtained earlier by the higher-order asymptotic homogenization method (Andrianov et al., 2013). Non-stationary dynamic processes are investigated by a pseudo-spectral numerical procedure. The time integration is performed by the Runge–Kutta method; the approximation with respect to the spatial co-ordinate is provided by the Fourier series expansion. The convergence of the Fourier series is substantially improved and the Gibbs–Wilbraham phenomenon is reduced with the help of Padé approximants. As result, we explore how fast and under what conditions the solitary strain waves can be generated from an initial excitation. The numerical and analytical solutions (when the latter can be obtained) are in good agreement.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a dissipative-dispersive nonlinear equation appliable to many physical phenomena. Using the geometric singular perturbation method based on the theory of dynamical systems, we investigate the existence of its traveling wave solutions with the dissipative terms having sufficiently small coefficients. The results show that the traveling waves exist on a two-dimensional slow manifold in a three-dimensional system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Then, we use the Melnikov method to establish the existence of a homoclinic orbit in this manifold corresponding to a solitary wave solution of the equation. Furthermore, we present some numerical computations to show the approximations of such wave orbits.  相似文献

A procedure is derived which allows for a systematic construction of three-dimensional ordinary differential equations having homoclinic solutions. The equations are proved to exhibit codimension-two homoclinic bifurcation points. Examples include the non-orientable resonant bifurcation, the inclination-flip, and the orbit-flip. In addition, an equation is constructed which has a homoclinic orbit converging to a saddle-focus satisfying Shilnikov's condition. The vector fields are polynomial and non-stiff in that the eigenvalues are of moderate size.  相似文献

在经典Padé逼近理论的基础上进行了相应推广,提出了广义Padé逼近方法,并针对强非线性自治振子同宿轨的求解问题,利用双曲函数构造了一种新的广义Padé逼近式. 首先,该广义Padé逼近式有着较简单的泰勒展开式,与现有的Padé逼近式相比,在计算同阶逼近时,计算量更少;其次,该方法在强非线性时,依然有着较高的精度;第三,该方法并不局限于某些特定的系统,而是有着较广的适用范围. 因此对于广义Padé逼近方法的研究具有一定的实际意义和理论价值.  相似文献

A theorem on the dependence of Poincaré mappings for different functional differential equations (FDEs) on the right-hand side of the equation is proved. Together with recent results on hyperbolic sets for noninvertible mappings, this is used to describe how Poincaré mappings and their complicated behavior in the neighborhood of a transversal homoclinic orbit persist under FDE perturbations of the equation. The method is shown to apply to three example equations, where Poincaré mappings with such behavior are known to exist.  相似文献

Korteweg–de Vries (KdV)-type equations can describe the nonlinear waves in fluids, plasmas, etc. In this paper, two generalized KdV equations are under investigation. Bilinear forms of which are constructed with the Bell polynomials and an auxiliary variable. \(N\) -soliton solutions are given through the Hirota direct method. Via the asymptotic analysis, the soliton interactions of the first generalized KdV equation are analyzed, which turn out to be elastic. Singular breather solutions have been derived from the two-soliton solutions. The collision between soliton and singular breather appears to be elastic, and the bound states of soliton and singular breather are exhibited. Unlike the first one, the other generalized KdV equation can only support the bound states of solitons, for the regular and singular solitons alike.  相似文献
