On the basis of Hamilton's principle and dynamic version of vonKàrmàn's equations,the nonlinear vibration and thermal-buckling of a uniformly heated isotropic annular plate with a completely clamped outer edge and a fixed rigid mass along the inner edge are studied. By parametric perturbation and numerical differentiation, the nonlinear response of the plate-mass system and the critical temperature in the mid-plane at which the plate is in buckled state are obtained. Some meaningful characteristic curves and data tables are given.  相似文献

The nonlinear models of the elastic and elasticlinear strain-hardening square plates with four immovably simply-supported edges are established by employing Hamilton‘s Variational Principle in a uniform temperature field. The unilateral equilibrium equations satisfied by the plastically buckled equilibria are also established. Dynamics and stability of the elastic and plastic plates are investigated analytically and the buckled equilibria are investigated by employing Galerkin-Ritz‘s method. The vibration frequencies, the first critical temperature differences of instability or buckling, the elastically buckled equilibria and the extremes depending on the final loading temperature difference of the plastically buckled equillibria of the plate are obtained. The results indicate that the critical buckling value of the plastic plate is lower than its critical instability value and the critical value of its buckled equilibria turning back to the trivial equilibrium are higher than the value. However, three critical values of the elastic plate are equal. The unidirectional snap-through may occur both at the stress-strain boundary of elasticity and plasticity and at the initial stage of unloading of the plastic plate.  相似文献

An exact solution is given for the bending of uniformly loaded rectangular cantilever plates byusing the idea of generalized simply supported edge together with the method of superposition.Asillustrative examples,a square plate and a rectangular plate with the ratio of the clamped edge to theneighbouring free edge equal to two are solved numerically.The results are compared with thoseobtained from approximate methods to confirm the validity of the method presented.  相似文献

The nonlinear vibration fundamental equation of circular sandwich plate under uniformed load and circumjacent load and the loosely clamped boundary condi- tion were established by von Karman plate theory,and then accordingly exact solution of static load and its numerical results were given.Based on time mode hypothesis and the variational method,the control equation of the space mode was derived,and then the amplitude frequency-load character relation of circular sandwich plate was obtained by the modified iteration method.Consequently the rule of the effect of the two kinds of load on the vibration character of the circular sandwich plate was investigated.When circumjacent load makes the lowest natural frequency zero,critical load is obtained.  相似文献

On the basis of von Kármán equations and using the general bifurcation theory,theelastic instability of an orthotropic elliptic plate whose edge is subjected to a uniform planecompression is discussed.Following the well-known Liapunov-Schmidt process theexistance of bifurcation solution at a simple eigenvalue is shown and the asymptoticexpression is obtained by means of the perturbation expansion with a small parameter.Finally,by using the finite element method,the critical loads of the plate are computed andthe post-buckling behavior is analysed.And also the effect of material and geometric parameters on the stability is studied.  相似文献

In this paper,based on ref[1],the axisymmetrical buckling of simply supportedcylindrical sandwich shells under the action of uniform axial load is solved by a rigorousmethod.The classical theory of shells is used for the two face sheets and the core isconsidered as a three-dimensional elastic body.A series of transcendental equations areobtained,from which the critical loads can be calculated by numerical methods.Numericalexamples are given to compare with the solutions of sandwich shell theories.  相似文献

Based on von Karman plate theory, the issue about nonlinear vibration for circular sandwich plates under circumjacent load with the loosely clamped boundary condition was researched. Nonlinear differential eigenvalue equations and boundary conditions of the problem were formulated by variational method and then their exact static solution can be got. The solution was derived by modified iteration method, so the analytic relations between amplitude and nonlinear oscillating frequency for circular sandwich plates were obtained. The mechanical response and fracture of metal sandwich panels subjected to multiple impulsive pressure loads (shocks) were investigated for panels with honeycomb and folded plate core constructions. The structural performance of panels with specific core configurations under multiple impulsive pressure loads is quantified by the maximum transverse deflection of the face sheets and the core crushing strain at mid-span of the panels. A limited set of simulations was carried out to find the optimum core density of a square honeycomb core sandwich panels under two shocks. The panels with a relative core density of 4%–5% are shown to have minimum face sheet deflection for the loading conditions considered here. This was consistent with the findings related to the sandwich panel response subjected to a single intense shock. Comparison of these results showed that optimized sandwich panels outperform solid plates under shock loading. An empirical method for prediction of the deflection and fracture of sandwich panels under two consecutive shocks – based on finding an effective peak over-pressure – was provided. Moreover, a limited number of simulations related to response and fracture of sandwich panels under multiple shocks with different material properties were performed to highlight the role of metal strength and ductility. In this set of simulations, square honeycomb sandwich panels made of four steels representing a relatively wide range of strength, strain hardening and ductility values were studied. For panels clamped at their edge, the observed failure mechanisms are core failure, top face failure and tearing at or close to the clamped edge. Failure diagrams for sandwich panels were constructed which reveal the fracture and failure mechanisms under various shock intensities for panels subjected to up to three consecutive shocks. The results complement previous studies on the behavior and fracture of these panels under high intensity dynamic loading and further highlights the potential of these panels for development of threat-resistant structural systems.  相似文献

In this paper, for a rectangular sandwich plate with edges simply supported and subjected to a constant compressive thrust λ along two opposite edges; the secondary bifurcation points and the secondary buckled states that bifurcate from the primary buckled states are determined by a perturbation method. We consider the buckling of a simply supported plate subjected to a constant edge thrust λ. The aspect ratio l is such that the critical thrust (the first bifurcation point of the associated non-linear eigenvalue problem) is of multiplicity two. A study of the non-linear static problem indicates that there are nine possible equilibrium states. One of these corresponds to the unbuckled state while the remaining eight represent buckled states. A linear stability analysis and a calculation of the potential energy of each of the static solutions indicates that four of the solutions are stable and five are unstable.  相似文献

In this paper, fundamental equations of the axisymmetric large amplitude free vibration for circular sandwich plates are derived by means of Hamilton principle. In most cases, the sandwich plates are composed of very thin faces, then the preceding fundamental equations are simplified considerably. For an illustrative example, a circular sandwich plate with edge clamped but free to slip is considered, and then we got a pure analytic solution of the axisymmetric large amplitude free vibration with the aid of the modified iteration method, and derived an analytic relation for the amplitude-frequency response.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the analysis of the nonlinear stability of a clamped rod carrying electric current in the magnetic field which is produced by the current flowing in a pair of inifinitely long parallel rigid wires. The natural state of the rod is in the plane of the wires and is equidistant from them. Firstly under the assumption of spatial deformation, the governing equations of the problem are derived, and the linearized problem and critical currents are discussed. Secondly, it is proved that the buckled states of the rod are always in planes. Finally, the global responses of the bifurcation problem of the rod are computed numerically and the distributions of the deflections, axial forces and bending moments are obtained. The results show that the buckled states of the rod may be either supercritical or subcritical, depending on the distancz between the rod and the wires. Furthermore, it is found that there exists a limit point on the branch solution of the supercritical buckled state. Postbuckling strength of simply supported corrugated board panels subjected to edge compressive loading has been studied experimentally using a specially developed test fixture. Although the load versus out-of-plane displacement response was highly sensitive to the presence of initial imperfections in the panels, the collapse loads did not vary much, which is attributed to the stable postbuckling behavior of the plates. Thin plates collapsed at nearly twice the buckling load, while thick panels collapsed at loads below the elastic critical buckling load. Local buckling of the facing on the concave side of the buckled plate was observed at load levels close to the collapse load. The plate collapse was triggered by compressive failure of the facings that initiated at the unloaded edges. A simplified design analysis was derived based on approximate postbuckling analysis and compared with an existing design formula for corrugated board panels and boxes.  相似文献

Cubic B-spline taken as trial function, the nonlinear bending of a circular sandwich plate was calculated by the method of point collocation. The support could be elastic. A sandwich plate was assumed to be Reissner model. The formulae were developed for the calculation of a circular sandwich plate subjected to polynomial distributed loads,uniformly distributed moments, radial pressure or radial prestress along the edge and their combination. Buckling load was calculated for the first time by nonlinear theory. Under action of uniformly distributed loads, results were compared with that obtained by the power series method. Excellences of the program written by the spline collocation method are wide convergent range, high precision and universal.  相似文献
