Summary Two-dimensional stress singularities in wedges have already drawn attention since a long time. An inverse square-root stress singularity (in a 360° wedge) plays an important role in fracture mechanics.Recently some similar three-dimensional singularities in conical regions have been investigated, from which one may be also important in fracture mechanics.Spherical coordinates are r, , . The conical region occupied by the elastic homogeneous body (and possible anisotropic) has its vertex at r=0. The mantle of the cone is described by an arbitrary function f(, )=0. The displacement components be u. For special values of (eigenvalues) there exist states of displacements (eigenstates) % MathType!MTEF!2!1!+-% feaafiart1ev1aaatCvAUfeBSjuyZL2yd9gzLbvyNv2CaerbuLwBLn% hiov2DGi1BTfMBaeXafv3ySLgzGmvETj2BSbqef0uAJj3BZ9Mz0bYu% H52CGmvzYLMzaerbd9wDYLwzYbItLDharqqr1ngBPrgifHhDYfgasa% acOqpw0xe9v8qqaqFD0xXdHaVhbbf9v8qqaqFr0xc9pk0xbba9q8Wq% Ffea0-yr0RYxir-Jbba9q8aq0-yq-He9q8qqQ8frFve9Fve9Ff0dme% GabaqaaiGacaGaamqadaabaeaafiaakabbaaa6daaahjxzL5gapeqa% aiaadwhadaWgaaWcbaGaeqOVdGhabeaakiabg2da9iaadkhadaahaa% WcbeqaaiabeU7aSbaakiaadAgadaWgaaWcbaGaeqOVdGhabeaakiaa% cIcacqaH7oaBcaGGSaGaeqiUdeNaaiilaiabfA6agjaacMcaaaa!582B!\[u_\xi = r^\lambda f_\xi (\lambda ,\theta ,\Phi )\],which may satisfy rather arbitrary homogeneous boundary conditions along the generators. The paper brings a theorem which expresses that if is an eigenvalue, then also-1- is an eigenvalue. Systematic data on the determination of the aerodynamic characteristics of axisymmetric bodies with a break in the generating line (Fig. 1a, b) in supersonic flow at zero angle of attack are presented in [1, 2, and others]. A characteristic feature of the flow past such bodies is the appearance of an extensive separation zone dec in the region of the break in the generator when the break angle exceeds some minimum value min, which for a turbulent boundary layer depends basically on the Mach number M at the body surface ahead of the separation zone. In this case, compression waves which change into the oblique compression shocks dc and cc, emanate both from the beginning of the separation zone (point c) and from the end of it (point d). These shocks, intersecting at the point c, form the triple shock configuration acd and acc for which we introduce the notationac[c, d]. The maximum value (max) of the generator break angle is limited by the possibility of the existence of an attached compression shock, dc. According to these data a change in the generator break angle for the range minmax of the angle does not disrupt the nature of the flow in the separation zone, but only alters the size of this zone.We shall examine the flow past cones with values of the generator break angles (max) for which the attached shock dc cannot exist.  相似文献

A solution is obtained for the relationship between load, displacement and inner contact radius for an axisymmetric, spherically concave, rigid punch, indenting an elastic half-space. Analytic approximations are developed for the limiting cases in which the ratio of the inner and outer radii of the annular contact region is respectively small and close to unity. These approximations overlap well at intermediate values. The same method is applied to the conically concave punch and to a punch with a central hole. , , . , . . .  相似文献

The experimental determination of steady and unsteady surface forces is an elementary problem in experimental fluid dynamics, e.g., in experimental aerodynamics. Up to now, unsteady forces such as pressure or shear fluctuations have been detected by means of special plug-in probes (e.g., miniature pressure transducers). An alternative and attractive technique of monitoring unsteady surface forces has become possible through the development of piezoelectric foils. With this novel type of sensor, which simply can be glued onto a surface, the piezoelectric effect of polarized plastic foils is used to register time-dependent pressure or shear loads. First of all, the paper concentrates on the fundamentals of this new measuring technique. Furthermore, some practical applications in experimental aerodynamics are outlined.List of symbols A area - c chord - C capacity - D pipe diameter - d 3i piezoelectric constant, i = 1–3 - f frequency - h foil thickness - p pressure - p pressure fluctuation - Q electric charge - R impedance - t time - u flow velocity - U voltage - x streamwise coordinate - Re Reynolds number - angle of attack - friction factor - aspect ratio - sweep angle - w wall shear stress - wall shear stress fluctuation Indices i direction of mechanical stress 1, 2: in direction of foil plane 3: normal to foil plane - ll lower limit - RMS root-mean-square - w wall condition - free stream condition A version of this paper was presented at the 6th Symposium on Turbulent Shear Flows, Toulouse, France, September 1987  相似文献

An unsteady viscous shock layer near a stagnation point is studied. The Navier-Stokes equations are analyzed in the limit 1, Re0 , df/dt = n-mF(t/m). The Reynolds number Re0 is defined in the paper by Eq. (1.3) (df/dt is the velocity of the body with respect to an inertial frame of reference moving with the original steady velocity –V't8, 2 = ( – 1)/( + 1)). Various flow regimes in the case 1, l, n max(2m, m + 1), m 0, where 2 = 1/Re0 are analyzed. Equations are derived that generalize the asymptotic analysis to the case of a viscous unsteady flow of gas in a thin three-dimensional shock layer. The problem of a thin unsteady viscous shock layer near the stagnation point of a body with two curvatures is formulated. Examples of numerical solution are given for different ratios of the principal curvatures of the body, the wall temperature, the parameters of the original steady flow, and the acceleration and deceleration regimes.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 100–111, March–April, 1981.I thank Yu. An asymptotic analysis of the Navier-Stokes equations is carried out for the case of hypersonic flow past wings of infinite span with a blunt leading edge when 0, Re , and M . Analytic solutions are obtained for an inviscid shock layer and inviscid boundary layer. The results of a numerical solution of the problems of vorticity interaction at the blunt edge and on the lateral surface of the wing are presented. These solutions are compared with the solution of the equations of a thin viscous shock layer and on the basis of this comparison the boundaries of the asymptotic regions are estimated.deceasedTranslated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 120–127, November–December, 1987.  相似文献

In this paper we continue previous studies of the closure problem for two-phase flow in homogeneous porous media, and we show how the closure problem can be transformed to a pair of Stokes-like boundary-value problems in terms of pressures that have units of length and velocities that have units of length squared. These are essentially geometrical boundary value problems that are used to calculate the four permeability tensors that appear in the volume averaged Stokes' equations. To determine the geometry associated with the closure problem, one needs to solve the physical problem; however, the closure problem can be solved using the same algorithm used to solve the physical problem, thus the entire procedure can be accomplished with a single numerical code.Nomenclature a a vector that maps V onto , m-1. - A a tensor that maps V onto . - A area of the - interface contained within the macroscopic region, m2. - A area of the -phase entrances and exits contained within the macroscopic region, m2. - A area of the - interface contained within the averaging volume, m2. - A area of the -phase entrances and exits contained within the averaging volume, m2. - Bo Bond number (= (=(–)g2/). - Ca capillary number (= v/). - g gravitational acceleration, m/s2. - H mean curvature, m-1. - I unit tensor. - permeability tensor for the -phase, m2. - viscous drag tensor that maps V onto V. - * dominant permeability tensor that maps onto v , m2. - * coupling permeability tensor that maps onto v , m2. - characteristic length scale for the -phase, m. - l characteristic length scale representing both and , m. - L characteristic length scale for volume averaged quantities, m. - n unit normal vector directed from the -phase toward the -phase. - n unit normal vector representing both n and n . - n unit normal vector representing both n and n . - P pressure in the -phase, N/m2. - p superficial average pressure in the -phase, N/m2. - p intrinsic average pressure in the -phase, N/m2. - p p , spatial deviation pressure for the -phase, N/m2. - r 0 radius of the averaging volume, m. - r position vector, m. - t time, s. - v fluid velocity in the -phase, m/s. - v superficial average velocity in the -phase, m/s. - v intrinsic average velocity in the -phase, m/s. - v v , spatial deviation velocity in the -phase, m/s. - V volume of the -phase contained within the averaging volmue, m3. - averaging volume, m3. Calculations of the flow of the mixture 0.94 CO2+0.05 N2+0.01 Ar past the forward portion of segmentai bodies are presented. The temperature, pressure, and concentration distributions are given as a function of the pressure ahead of the shock wave and the body velocity. Analysis of the concentration distribution makes it possible to formulate a simplified model for the chemical reaction kinetics in the shock layer that reflects the primary flow characteristics. The density distributions are used to verify the validity of the binary similarity law throughout the shock layer region calculated. The flow of a CO2+N2+Ar gas mixture of varying composition past a spherical nose was examined in [1]. The basic flow properties in the shock layer were studied, particularly flow dependence on the free-stream CO2 and N2 concentration.New revised data on the properties of the Venusian atmosphere have appeared in the literature [2, 3] One is the dominant CO2 concentration. This finding permits more rigorous formulation of the problem of blunt body motion in the Venus atmosphere, and attention can be concentrated on revising the CO2 thermodynamic and kinetic properties that must be used in the calculation. The problem of supersonic nonequilibrium flow past a blunt body is solved within the framework of the problem formulation of [4].Notation V body velocity - shock wave standoff - universal gas constant - ratio of frozen specific heats - hRt/m enthalpy per unit mass undisturbed stream P pressure - density - T temperature - m molecular weight - cp specific heat at constant pressure - (X) concentration of component X (number of particles in unit mass) - R body radius of curvature at the stagnation point - j rate of j-th chemical reaction shock layer P V 2 pressure - density - TT temperature - mm molecular weight Translated from Izv. Turbulent tube flow and the flow through a porous medium of aqueous hydroxypropylguar (HPG) solutions in concentrations from 100 wppm to 5000 wppm is investigated. Taking the rheological flow curves into account reveals that the effectiveness in turbulent tube flow and the efficiency for the flow through a porous medium both start at the same onset wall shear stress of 1.3 Pa. The similarity of the curves = ( w ) and = ( w ), respectively, leads to a simple linear relation / =k, where the constantk or proportionality depends uponc. This offers the possibility to deduce (for turbulent tube flow) from (for flow through a porous medium). In conjunction with rheological data, will reveal whether, and if yes to what extent, drag reduction will take place (even at high concentrations). The relation of our treatment to the model-based Deborah number concept is shown and a scale-up formula for the onset in turbulent tube flow is deduced as well.  相似文献

Hypersonic three-dimensional viscous rarefied gas flow past blunt bodies in the neighborhood of the stagnation line is considered. The question of the applicability of the gasdynamic thin viscous shock layer model [1] is investigated for the transition flow regime from continuum to free-molecular flow. It is shown that for a power-law temperature dependence of the viscosity coefficient T the quantity (Re)1/(1+), where = ( – 1)/2 and is the specific heat ratio, is an important determining parameter of the hypersonic flow at low Reynolds numbers. In the case of a cold surface approximate asymptotic solutions of the thin viscous shock layer equations are obtained for noslip conditions on the surface and generalized Rankine-Hugoniot relations on the shock wave at low Reynolds numbers. These solutions give simple analytic expressions for the thermal conductivity and friction coefficients as functions of the determining flow parameters. As the Reynolds number tends to zero, the values of the thermal conductivity and friction coefficients determined by this solution tend to their values in free-molecular flow for an accommodation coefficient equal to unity. This tending of the thermal conductivity and friction coefficients to the free-molecular limit takes place for both two-and three-dimensional flows. The asymptotic solutions are compared with numerical calculations and experimental data.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Academii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, 2004, pp. 159–170. A simple capillary model of free spontaneous imbibition and waterflood is introduced and used to interpret the complete capillary number CA for immiscible displacement in porous media. The complete capillary number is applied to characterize saturation profile histories obtained in sandpacks. Its value is equal to 1 in free spontaneous imbibition, and in a waterflood it is equal to the ratio of the water injection rate to the initial rate of free spontaneous imbibition. In situ saturation profiles in waterfloods in sandpacks at 1:1 viscosity ratio were determined by light transmission measurement. For CA 1 capillary forces controlled and the saturation rose practically uniformly along the entire length of the model from the initial connate water saturation to the final value, corresponding to residual oil saturation. For CA 1 viscous forces controlled and there was a step change in saturation from the connate water to the residual oil value, advancing as a piston. At intermediate values of CA the saturation profiles were S-shaped curves. The saturation profile histories in two packs of different lengths of the same sand were identical, within experimental error, at the same values of CA in the two packs, if plotted against normalized distance coordinates. The saturation profile histories measured in packs of the same length of two very different sands A and B were found to be similar for values of CA in the ratio (CA)B/(CA)A 5, for all values of CA.  相似文献

The onset of instability in the flow by an impulsively started rotating cylinder is analyzed under linear theory. It is well-known that at the critical Taylor number Tc=1695 the secondary flow in form of Taylor vortices sets in under the narrow-gap approximation. Here the dimensionless critical time c to mark the onset of instability for TTc is presented as a function of the Taylor number T. Available experimental data of water indicate that deviation of the velocity profiles from the primary flow occurs starting from a certain time 4c. It seems evident that during c4c the secondary flow is very weak and the primary state of time-dependent annular Couette flow is maintained.  相似文献

An algorithm is constructed for numerical determination of the flow parameters and coefficient of contraction of a jet in the case of irrotational lateral outflow of liquid from a semiinfinite stream through a nozzle of finite depth situated at an arbitrary angle to the mainstream flow. The solution is based on the use of N. E. Zhukovskii's method and the Schwarz-Christoffel formula. We consider a surface S = (), where 2 is a bounded, connected, open set with a smooth boundary and : 3 is a smooth map; let () denote the components of the two-dimensional linearized strain tensor of S and let 0 with length 0 > 0. We assume the the norm ,|| ()||0, in the space V0() = { H1() × H1() × L2(); = 0 on 0 } is equivalent to the usual product norm on this space. We then establish that this assumption implies that the surface S is uniformly elliptic and that we necessarily have 0 = .  相似文献

We prove that the set D of vector fields on the configuration space B of a field whose 1-parameter groups locally associated are groups of fibre-preserving transformations of B that leave invariant that field in the sense of variational theory, is a Lie algebra with respect to ordinary addition, multiplication by real numbers and Lie brackets. We see that this Lie algebra structure can be carried over to the corresponding set of Noether invariants, which then becomes a Lie algebra in a natural way.Further, we define the n-form of Poincaré-Cartan of a field, and we use it to generalize the Lie algebras D and in a reasonable way. The algebras D and are subalgebras of the new Lie algebras D and introduced. A main result in this connection is the following: the differential d of the n-form of Poincaré-Cartan is –(d+f), where (, d+f) are the field equations on the vertical bundle B.The symplectic manifold of solutions associated with a field is introduced in a formal way and the former Lie algebras D, , D, are interpreted on this manifold. In imitation of the case of analytical dynamics, the main results in this direction are: a) Every vector field of the Lie algebra D defines, in a canonical way, a vector field on the manifold of solutions such that its polar 1-form with respect to the symplectic metric 2 is the differential of its corresponding Noether invariant, and b) the Lie bracket [, ] of two Noether invariants , is the Noether invariant given by 2(D, D), where D, D are the vector fields on the manifold of solutions defined, in the sense a), by two infinitesimal generators of , , respectively. This will allow us to regard the Lie algebra as the analogous object in field theory to the Poisson algebra of analytic dynamics. We apply the general formalism to the relativistic theory of non-linear scalar fields, and we compare our results with the formalism developed by I. Segal for this case.  相似文献

Chernyi’s series method[1] is not proper for the case that(γ-l)/(γ+l)<<2/(γ+1)×M2sin2β (γ=cp/cv-adiabatic index number, M-Much number, β-shock incidence). In this paper, we only suppose that in the neighbour of the shock, there exists a shock layer in which the density of the gas is very big, but we do not remove the case that (γ-1)/(γ+1)<<2/(γ+1)M2sin2β.  相似文献

A study is made of the influence of longitudinal vorticity on the hypersonic viscous shock layer near an axisymmetric cooled surface that rotates about the longitudinal axis with angular velocity 1 [1, 2]. The equations of the viscous shock layer for the neighborhood of the stagnation point are simplified on the basis of the theory of a thin three-dimensional shock layer [1, 2]. The results are given of some calculations of the influence of the parameters and 1 on the heat transfer and the structure of the shock layer in the case of steady flow. An iterative numerical method proposed by the author [1] is used, and a modification to accelerate the convergence of the iterations is proposed. It is noted that the parameters and 1 have characteristic ranges of variation, which depend on the Mach and Reynolds numbers, for which the distributions of the streamlines in the shock layer are qualitatively different.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 179–182, May–June, 1984.I thank V.
