A method for overcoming the surface tension time step constraint is presented. The algorithm presented in this work is an improvement on the work presented by Sussman and Ohta (SIAM J Sci Comput 2009). In this work, the method of Sussman and Ohta is extended in order to treat problems with contact angle dynamics. Furthermore, this work presents a more efficient method for computing volume‐preserving motion by mean curvature than the method presented previously. The new method is tested on the following four 2D problems: (1) 3D axisymmetric (r?z) surface tension driven zero gravity droplet oscillation, (2) measurement of the magnitude of parasitic currents for a droplet on a substrate initialized in static equilibrium, (3) relaxation of a 2D droplet on a substrate to static shape, and (3) relaxation of a 2D bubble on a substrate to static shape. Conventional methodologies towards polycrystal plasticity use an aggregate of single crystals and this choice of the aggregate affects the response of the polycrystal. In order to address this issue, a continuum approach is presented for the representation of polycrystals through an orientation distribution function over the orientation space. Additionally, a constitutive framework for thermoelastic–viscoplastic response of metals based on polycrystal plasticity is presented along with a coupled macro–micro, fully implicit Lagrangian finite element algorithm. Numerical examples that highlight the accuracy, performance and benefits of the proposed approach are presented. 相似文献

对于运载飞行器一类由多个部段装配而成的复杂结构, 外载荷往往被转化为多点集中载荷传递到结构某一部段, 为此, 结构上需要采取使集中力扩散的措施. 基于连续体拓扑优化, 以结构最小柔顺性为目标函数, 同时考虑设计域内材料用量约束和考查区域(承载结构)内力均匀性约束, 提出了集中力扩散结构优化设计的理论模型, 并给出了平面和三维两种不同的优化算例, 均得到了合理的优化设计结果. 最后, 针对运载火箭燃料贮箱短壳, 考虑工程实际的受力及约束情况, 给出了可行的概念性设计方案. 相似文献

A coupling device for damping within a drive train is presented. For conventional damping couplings, damping is often realized by the dissipation of energy due to material damping or friction. In opposite to this, the damping effect of the presented coupling is based on the dissipated energy during the stress induced phase transformation of pseudoelastic NiTi shape memory alloys. In this contribution the design principles, experimental results, and a numerical simulation using the material law for shape memory alloys developed by Raniecki B. Lexcellent C. and Tanaka K. A method is developed to solve elliptic singular perturbation problems. Examples are presented in one and two dimensions for both linear and non-linear problems. In particular, examples are presented for fluid flow problems with boundary layers. In the one-dimensional case an approximating equation is developed using just three points. The method first presented is a fourth-order approximation but is extended to become a higher-order method. Results are included for the fourth-, sixth-, eighth- and tenth-order methods. The results are first compared with results found by Segal in an article about elliptic singular perturbation problems. The elliptic singular perturbation problems are compared with a method by Il'in and also with central and backward difference schemes from Segal's article. There was only one case where the results in Segal's paper were as accurate as the results presented in this paper. However, in this case the method used by Segal did not give accurate values for a second problem presented. The results are also compared with results given by Spalding and by Christie. The method of this paper was also tested on the solution of some non-linear diffusion equations with concentration-dependent diffusion coefficients. The results were superior to results presented by Lee and by Schultz. Finally, the method is extended to several two-dimensional problems. The method developed in this paper is accurate, easy to use and can be generalized to other problems. 相似文献

phenomenon depend on the type of the electrical machine, synchronous or asynchronous, and on its size, but they are often
related to the study of the unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP). In this paper the nonlinear behavior of generators with smooth
poles of high-speed turbogenerators is presented during and after the excitation of the magnetic field in the air-gap in order
to fully exploit the effect of the UMP. In the first part of the paper a method, which allows the simulation of the dynamical
behavior of a flexible rotor caused by the UMP, is presented. In the second part, the simulation of a magnetic field excitation

A simple,robust quadrilateral membrane element with drilling degrees of freedom ispresented in this paper.This membrane element is based on Allman's approach,and derived from theconstrained variational principle which enforces the equality of rotations obtained from the displace-ment field and independent rotation field by a penalty function.Examples show that the presentedmembrane element is fully compatible with typical beam element and plate element.And also,thenon-conforming shape functions used in this element exhibits excellent performance over both regularand distorted meshes.Based on the presented membrane element,it is very convenient to construct theshear wall element of six degrees of freedom,which is often used in the analysis of general three-di-mensional building structures. 相似文献
