We demonstrate a compact periodically poled MgO-doped lithium niobate(MgO:PPLN)-based optical parametric oscillator(OPO) quasi-synchronously pumped by a fiber laser system with burst-mode operation. The pump source is a peak-power-selectable pulse-multiplied picosecond Yb fiber laser. The chirped pulses from a figure of eight-cavity modelocked fiber laser seed are narrowed to a duration of less than 50 ps using an FBG reflector and a circulator. The narrowed pulses are directed to pass through a pulse multiplier and to form pulse bunches, each of which is composed of 13 subpulses. The obtained pulse bunches are amplified by two-stage fiber pre-amplifiers:one-stage is core-pumped and the other is cladding-pumped.A fiberized acousto-optic modulator is inserted to control the pulse repetition rate(PRR) of the pulse bunches before they are power-amplified in the final amplifier stage with a large mode area(LMA) PM Yb-doped fiber. The maximum average powers from the final amplifier are 85 W,60 W,and 45 W,respectively, corresponding to the PRR of2.72 MHz,1.36 MHz,and 0.68 MHz.The amplified pulses are directed to pump an MgO:PPLN-based optical parametric oscillator(OPO).A maximum peak power at 3.45 μm is obtained approximately to be 8.4 kW.Detailed performance characteristics are presented.  相似文献

A compact femtosecond Ti:sapphire amplifier system is reported using single-stage multipass configuration with high beam quality. A high dispersion glass stretcher and a pair of double prisms for compression are introduced based on broadband femtosecond seed pulses. The non-grating-based pulse stretcher and compressor are advantageous to increase high beam quality and to reduce the high-order dispersion. A Gaussian filter is used to reduce the gain narrowing effect in amplification. The compact femtosecond Ti:sapphire nine-pass amplifier delivers pulses with a duration of 26 fs and an energy of 800μJ at 7mJ pumping pulses energy at I kHz. The 1-kHz femtosecond amplifier with high beam quality and high stability is very suitable for ultrafast physics research applications, such as attosecond science, ultra-precision micromachining, and THz wave generation.  相似文献

A master-oscillator fiber power amplifier (MOPA) system is presented, which consists of a single mode laser as the master oscillator and an Yb3+-doped large-mode-area double-clad fiber as the power amplifier. The system emits up to 6 W of amplified radiation at a wavelength of 1064 nm. The slope efficiency and extracted pulse energy as a function of pulse repetition rate are analyzed.  相似文献

The efficient generation of a 1.17-mJ laser pulse with 360 ps duration using an ytterbium (Yb)-doped fiber amplifier chain seeded by a homemade mode-locked fiber laser is demonstrated experimentally.A specially designed figure-of-eight fiber laser acts as the seed source of a chirped-pulse amplification (CPA) system and generates mode-locked pulses with hundreds of picosecond widths. Two kinds of large-mode-area (LMA) double-clad Yb-doped fibers are employed to construct the pre-amplifier and main amplifier. All of the adopted instruments help avoid severe nonlinearity in fibers to raise sub-nanosecond pulse energy with acceptable signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).The output spectrum of this fiber-based CPA system shows that amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) is suppressed to better than 30 dB,and the onset of stimulated Raman scattering is excluded.  相似文献

A high-power all-fiber single-frequency polarization-maintained(PM)laser operating at 1 083 nm is demonstrated using a master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA)structure. The seed source of this MOPA laser system is an in-house-built ring-cavity fiber oscillator.Four-stage amplification configuration is employed, in which the maximal output power of the main amplifier is 90.4 W,corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 72.5%.The polarization extinction ratio of the output light is 13 dB.The amplified spontaneous emission is suppressed by a factor of over 25 dB,and no stimulated Brillouin scattering effect is observed when a large-mode-area and high absorption coefficient PM gain fiber is employed.  相似文献

We demonstrate an all-fiber, high-power, and high stability ultrafast laser source operating at 1563 nm. A highly stable, self-starting carbon nanotube(CNT) mode-locked femtosecond fiber laser is used as the seed source. The amplifier stage uses a fiber chirped pulse amplification configuration. The main power amplifier is based on a cladding-pumped Er–Yb co-doped fiber with 10 μm active single-mode core diameter. The laser source provides 3.4 W average output power at 75 MHz repetition rate. The pulses are compressed to 765 fs by a low-loss transmission grating pair. The robust, compact, and high-power 1560 nm fiber laser source can be used for eye surgery and solar cell micromachining.  相似文献

A pulsed master oscillator power amplifier system is constructed using a double-cladding polarized Ybdoped fiber and an all-fiber Q-switched narrow-linewidth pulsed laser used as seed laser. This system has a high repetition rate and provides a nanosecond pulsed laser with a narrow linewidth and linear polarization. Moreover,it generates amplified radiation with up to 14 W of average power, narrow linewidth(full-width at half-maximum is smaller than 0.12 nm),linear polarization at 1 080-nm wavelength, repetition rate of 51 kHz,and pulse duration of approximately 50 ns.Based on this pulsed amplified radiation,3.5 W of green laser, with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 27.3%,is obtained via single-pass frequency doubling using a noncritical phase matching KTP crystal.  相似文献

We develop a compact and high-energy Nd:YAG slab laser system consisting of an oscillator and an amplifier for space applications. The oscillator is a diode-side-pumped electro-optically Q-switched slab laser with a cross-Porro resonator. The KD*P Pockels cell with a low driving voltage of 950 V is used to polarization output coupling. The amplifier is a Nd:YAG zigzag slab pumped at bounces. The maximum output pulse energy of 341 m3 with 13 ns pulse duration is obtained from the system at the repetition rate of 20 Hz and the beam quality factors are M2=3.1 and M2=3.5. The beam pointing stabilities of the laser system are 3.05μrad in the X-direction and 3.99 grad in the Y-direction, respectively.  相似文献

Based on the theory of quasi-three-level rate equations modified by amplified spontaneous emission, the stored energy density and the small signal gain of the cryogenic Yb:YAG regenerative amplifier for a given geometry for pulsed pumping in three dimensions are theoretically studied using the Monte Carlo simulation. The present model provides a straightforward procedure to design the Yb:YAG parameters and the optical coupling system for optimization when running at cryogenic temperature.A fiber-coupled laser diode end-pumped cryogenic Yb:YAG regenerative amplifier running at 1 030 nm is demonstrated with a maximum output energy 10.2 mJ at a repetition rate of 10 Hz.A very good agreement between the experiments and the theoretical model is achieved.  相似文献

A diode pumped injection seeded single-longit udinal-mode (SLM) Nd: YA G laser is achieved by using the resonancedetection technique in Q-switching operation. The pulsed oscillator laser uses a folded cavity to achieve compact construction. This system operates at 100 Hz and provides over 20 m J/pulse of single-frequency 1064 nm output. The M2 values of horizontal and vertical axes are 1.58 and 1.41, respectively. The probability of putting out single-longitudinal-mode pulses is 100%. The 355 nm laser output produced by frequency tripling has a linewidth less than 200 MHz. The laser can run over eight hours continually without, mode hopping  相似文献
