In this Letter, we introduce a generalization of the Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equations from affine Lie algebras to a wide class of conformal field theories (not necessarily rational). The new equations describe correlations functions of primary fields and of a finite number of their descendents. Our proposal is based on Nahm's concept of small spaces which provide adequate substitutes for the lowest energy subspaces in modules of affine Lie algebras. We explain how to construct the first order differential equations and investigate properties of the associated connections, thereby preparing the grounds for an analysis of quantum symmetries. The general considerations are illustrated in examples of Virasoro minimal models.  相似文献

It is shown that in the case of closed bosonicp-branes there existp + 1 mutually commuting Virasoro algebras which are a direct generalization of the string case. The existence of these algebras allows us to conclude that a non-Abelian string spectrum and quantum anomalies are admissible. The generalization of these results for the supersymmetric case is also discussed.  相似文献

One of von Neumann's motivations for developing the theory of operator algebras and his and Murray's 1936 classification of factors was the question of possible decompositions of quantum systems into independent parts. For quantum systems with a finite number of degrees of freedom the simplest possibility, i.e. factors of type I in the terminology of Murray and von Neumann, are perfectly adequate. In relativistic quantum field theory (RQFT), on the other hand, factors of type III occur naturally. The same holds true in quantum statistical mechanics of infinite systems. In this brief review some physical consequences of the type III property of the von Neumann algebras corresponding to localized observables in RQFT and their difference from the type I case will be discussed. The cumulative effort of many people over more than 30 years has established a remarkable uniqueness result: The local algebras in RQFT are generically isomorphic to the unique, hyperfinite type III, factor in Connes' classification of 1973. Specific theories are characterized by the net structure of the collection of these isomorphic algebras for different space-time regions, i.e. the way they are embedded into each other  相似文献

We show that some quantum optical systems generate quantum algebras being the natural generalization of the Heisenberg-Weyl algebra. The importance of these algebras for the integration of the systems under consideration is discussed. We construct and study the implications of some new non-local conserved currents that exist is a wide variety of massive integrable quantum field theories in 2 dimensions, including the sine-Gordon theory and its generalization to affine Toda theory. These non-local currents provide a non-perturbative formulation of the theories. The symmetry algebras correspond to the quantum affine Kac-Moody algebras. TheS-matrices are completely characterized by these symmetries. FormalS-matrices for the imaginary-coupling affine Toda theories are thereby derived. The application of theseS-matrices to perturbed coset conformal field theory is studied. Non-local charges generating the finite dimensional Quantum Group in the Liouville theory are briefly presented. The formalism based on non-local charges we describe provides an algernative to the quantum inverse scattering method for solving integrable quantum field theories in 2d.  相似文献

The generalization of the construction of the lattice of varieties for partial algebras is used for sets with relative inverses. There are many quantum structures representable by sets with relative inverses (orthomodular lattices, orthoalgebras, D-posets, test spaces,...). Varieties covering the trivial variety are investigated for the case of closed (strongest type) subalgebras and closed homomorphisms. Some similar results for weaker types are given. The context with set representation problems is considered for the set-theoretic difference operations.  相似文献

The quantization problem for the trace-bracket algebra, derived from double Poisson brackets, is discussed. We obtain a generalization of the boundary YBE (or so-called ABCD-algebra) for the quantization of quadratic trace-brackets. A dynamical deformation is proposed on the lines of Gervais–Neveu–Felder dynamical quantum algebras.  相似文献

We reformulate the algebraic structure of Zwiebach’s quantum open-closed string field theory in terms of homotopy algebras. We call it the quantum open-closed homotopy algebra (QOCHA) which is the generalization of the open-closed homotopy algebra (OCHA) of Kajiura and Stasheff. The homotopy formulation reveals new insights about deformations of open string field theory by closed string backgrounds. In particular, deformations by Maurer Cartan elements of the quantum closed homotopy algebra define consistent quantum open string field theories.  相似文献

Basic algebras are a generalization of MV-algebras, also including orthomodular lattices and lattice effect algebras. A pre-ideal of a basic algebra is a non-empty subset that is closed under the addition ⊕ and downwards closed with respect to the underlying order. In this paper, we study the pre-ideal lattices of algebras in a particular subclass of basic algebras which are closer to MV-algebras than basic algebras in general. We also prove that finite members of this subclass are exactly finite MV-algebras.  相似文献

A certain generalization of the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics beyond operator algebras is considered. The approach is based on the concept of conditional probability and the interpretation of the Lüders-von Neumann quantum measurement as a probability conditionalization rule. A major result shows that the operator algebras must be replaced by order-unit spaces with some specific properties in the generalized approach, and it is analyzed under which conditions these order-unit spaces become Jordan algebras. An application of this result provides a characterization of the projection lattices in operator algebras.  相似文献

A quantum physical projector is proposed for generally covariant theories which are derivable from a Lagrangian. The projector is the quantum analogue of the integral over the generators of finite one-parameter subgroups of the gauge symmetry transformations which are connected to the identity. Gauge variables are retained in this formalism, thus permitting the construction of spacetime area and volume operators in a tentative spacetime loop formulation of quantum general relativity.  相似文献

Skew frames represent a common generalization of frames and orthomodular lattices. They could serve as Lindenbaum algebras of quantum intuitionistic logic as well as invariants of noncommutative C*-algebras. It is shown that lattices of open projections with skew (partial) operations are complete invariants of C*-algebras and that these operations are preserved by morphims of C*-algebras.  相似文献

Drinfeld gave a current realization of the quantum affine algebras as a Hopf algebra with a simple comultiplication for the quantum current operators. In this Letter, we will present a generalization of such a realization of quantum Hopf algebras. As a special case, we will choose the structure functions for this algebra to be elliptic functions to derive certain elliptic quantum groups as a Hopf algebra, which degenerates into quantum affine algebras if we take certain degeneration of the structure functions.  相似文献

In this paper we study minimal affinizations of representations of quantum groups (generalizations of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules of quantum affine algebras introduced in [Cha1]). We prove that all minimal affinizations in types A, B, G are special in the sense of monomials. Although this property is not satisfied in general, we also prove an analog property for a large class of minimal affinizations in types C, D, F. As an application, the Frenkel-Mukhin algorithm [FM1] works for these modules. For minimal affinizations of type A, B we prove the thin property (the l-weight spaces are of dimension 1) and a conjecture of [NN1] (already known for type A). The proof of the special property is extended uniformly for more general quantum affinizations of quantum Kac-Moody algebras.  相似文献

The relationship between a standard local quantum field and a net of local von Neumann algebras is discussed. Two natural possibilities for such an association are identified, and conditions for these to obtain are found. It is shown that the local net can naturally be so chosen that it satisfies the Special Condition of Duality. The notion of an intrinsically local field operator is introduced, and it is shown that such an operator defines a local net with which the field is locally associated. A regularity condition on the field is formulated, and it is shown that if this condition holds, then there exists a unique local net with which the field is locally associated if and only if the field algebra contains at least one intrinsically local operator. Conditions under which a field and other fields in its Borchers class are associated with the same local net are found, in terms of the regularity condition mentioned.  相似文献

The search for elliptic quantum groups leads to a modified quantum Yang–Baxter relation and to a special class of quasi-triangular quasi-Hopf algebras. This Letter calculates deformations of standard quantum groups (with or without spectral parameter) in the category of quasi-Hopf algebras. An earlier investigation of the deformations of quantum groups, in the category of Hopf algebras, showed that quantum groups are generically rigid: Hopf algebra deformations exist only under some restrictions on the parameters. In particular, affine Kac–Moody algebras are more rigid than their loop algebra quotients and only the latter (in the case of sl(n)) can be deformed to elliptic Hopf algebras. The generalization to quasi-Hopf deformations lifts this restriction. The full elliptic quantum groups (with central extension) associated with sl(n) are thus quasi-Hopf algebras. The universal R-matrices satisfy a modified Yang–Baxter relation and are calculated more or less explicitly. The modified classical Yang–Baxter relation is obtained and the elliptic solutions are worked out explicitly.The same method is used to construct the Universal R-matrices associated with Felder's quantization of the Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov–Bernard equation, to throw some light on the quasi-Hopf structure of conformal field theory and (perhaps) the Calogero–Moser models.  相似文献

The standard generators of tridiagonal algebras, recently introduced by Terwilliger, are shown to generate a new (in)finite family of mutually commuting operators which extends the Dolan–Grady construction. The involution property relies on the tridiagonal algebraic structure associated with a deformation parameter q. Representations are shown to be generated from a class of quadratic algebras, namely, the reflection equations. The spectral problem is briefly discussed. Finally, related massive quantum integrable models are shown to be superintegrable.  相似文献

Braided coadditions of differential complexes on some further generalized quantized braided matrix algebras are constructed. With these coadditions the generalized algebraic systems form a kind of braided (additive) differential Hopf algebras. This is a generalization and unification of some existing results. The coadditions of differential complexes on the usual braided matrices and quantum matrices, etc., can be obtained as special cases.  相似文献
