HighT c superconductivity in the YBaCuO superconductor has been investigated through the quadrupole interaction of the probe nuclei99Tc. The quadrupole interactions were measured by the TDPAC method from 77 to 296 K. The probe nuclei99Tc were introduced into the YBaCuO superconducting specimen by diffusion. The derived electric quadrupole interaction parameters show that the probe nuclei are subject to a unique EFG interaction and occupy a substitutional lattice site in the YBaCuO superconductor. A strong EFG of 1019 V/cm2 was observed. The temperature dependence of the EFG exhibits a linear decrease with temperature increase. Anomalies of both EFG and ν were found in the superconducting transition temperature region. The role of the oxygen vacancies in the Cu−O chains is discussed.  相似文献

The hyperfine quadrupole interaction in HfF4.HF.2H2O was studied using the time differential perturbed angular correlation (TDPAC) technique. The electric field gradient (EFG) and the corresponding asymmetry parameter were measured in the temperature range from 9 to 350 K. The EFG is characterized by a rather strong increase with temperature, whereas the asymmetry parameter reaches its maximum value (η≈1) at aboutT=160 K. At 420 K, the complex is dehydrated and looses HF: The quadrupole parameters determined from subsequent TDPAC measurements are charateristic for HfF4.  相似文献

The electric quadrupole coupling constants for210Po(6+) isomers in a Bi single crystal host have been measured at ambient, 3 Kbar and 6 Kbar hydrostatic pressures. Assuming a linear pressure dependence of the EFG we find the logarithmic derivative dlnq/dP=–8(5)Mbar–1. This result is analyzed in a quantitative way in a point charge model, considering the elastic and lattice constants of Bi, and in a qualitative way in the covalent bond picture.  相似文献

Nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) of209Bi has been studied in Bi4 (GeO4)3 and Bi4 (SiO4)3 using a wide band coherence-controlled superregenerative oscillator-detector. All the four allowed (ΔM I=±1) transitions are observed. In both cases the electric field gradient (EFG) tensor is axially symmetric (η=0.0). The quadrupole coupling constante 2 qQ is measured to be 490.8±1 MHz and 470.4±1 MHz respectively. It is pointed out that the purely ionic model is inadequate to understand these results. With the available experimental accuracy and the strength of the applied electric field (∼ 6 KV/cm), no field-induced effects on the NQR spectrum could be observed in the case of Bi4 (SiO4)3.  相似文献

The electric quadrupole interactions at181Ta probe nuclei in a cubic Hf2Fe lattice were studied by the TDPAC method. In addition, the crystalline structure study of the Hf2Fe compound was performed. The results of the EQI measurement show the presence of two independent interactions, one at low frequency, characterized by ω Q (1) =33 Mrad/s and δ=30%, and the other at high frequency described by ω Q (2) =207 ± 2 Mrad/s and δ=4%. Both interactions are found to be compatible with the crystalline structure established in this investigation. The large temperature dependence of the electric field gradient of the second interaction in the range from 78K to 1183K was determined. The change in the EFG follows the empiricalT 3/2 -relation.  相似文献

The quadrupole interaction (QI) in hexagonal close packed zinc lattice was measured using the 482 keV, 10.6 ns probe state of181Ta employing the time-differential perturbed angular correlation technique. The electric field gradient (EFG) at181Ta in Zn was derived from the measured quadrupole interaction frequency at room temperature asV zz =12.202×1017 V/cm2. The quadrupole interaction measured at various temperatures displayed normal temperature dependence similar to that seen by this probe in many non-cubic hosts.  相似文献

The NMR spectra and the decay of a spin echo signal from 51V nuclei in Kagome-staircase Co3V2O8 (CVO) and Ni3V2O8 (NVO) single crystals are measured in the temperature range 30–300 K and a magnetic field H 0 = 20 kOe. The orientation dependences of the 51V NMR line shape are used to determine the electric field gradient (EFG) parameters, namely, quadrupole frequency ν Q and asymmetry parameter η. These parameters for NVO and CVO are ν Q = 180(10) kHz, η = 0.5(1) and ν Q = 130(10) kHz, η = 0.6(1), respectively. A comparison of the results of calculating EFG tensors with a point charge model and the NMR data indicates that the crystallographically equivalent vanadium atoms in the Ni3V2O8 and Co3V2O8 compounds differ in the EFG axis orientation. M3V2O8 crystals are found to have vanadium positions (V1, V2) with different orientations of the z axis, which specifies the direction of the principal value of EFG (V zz ): these orientations lie in the bc plane and make an angle of either +51(5)° (V1) or −51(5)° (V2) with axis c. In the temperature range 30–300 K, the EFG tensor components and the local symmetry of the charge surrounding of the vanadium positions in NVO and CVO oxides are found to change insignificantly.  相似文献

The nuclear quadrupole interaction of the 75 keV excited state of100Rh in the ordered intermetallic compounds PdHg, PdPb2 PdSb and PdTe was measured. Using an estimate for the nuclear quadrupole moment of the 75 keV state in100Rh and point ion lattice sums for the lattice electric field gradient (EFG) at the Rh site, the electronic contributionV zz el to the total EFG was derived.V zz el was found to be correlated with the average valence electron concentration in the compounds studied. The perturbed angular correlation (PAC) technique has been used to study the electric field gradient (EFG) in LaCoO3 perovskite. The results are compared with those for LaCrO3, LaFeO3 measured earlier. The PAC probe, 111In → 111Cd, was introduced in the oxide lattice by means of chemical reaction during sample preparation. In the present work, the temperature dependence of the electric quadrupole interaction parameters, for LaCoO3 was investigated. The resulting systematics of EFG at 111Cd, in La(Cr,Fe,Co)O3 perovskites, reveals a linear dependence with temperature. The quadrupole frequencyv Q =e 2 qQ/h of103Ru (Z=44,N=59) in a ruthenium single crystal has been measured using the technique of low temperature quadrupole orientation to bev Q (103RuRu)=−14.7(5) MHz. Temperatures below 2 mK were reached in this experiment using a PrNi5 demagnetization stage attached to a3He−4He dilution refrigerator. Using the measured magnitude of the RuRu electric field gradient (EFG) at low temperatures |eq(RuRu)|=1.02(3)×1017 V.cm−2 [1] and adopting the sign ofeq(RuRu) to be negative from systematics, this result yields a value for the ground-state electric quadrupole moment of103Ru ofQ(103Ru)=+0.59(2) b. This moment may be interpreted using the weak coupling model of de-Shalit [2]. A Korringa constant for103RuRu ofC K=39(6) Ks was measured in this experiment. Taking advantage of a small iridium contamination of the ruthenium single crystal, the quadrupole moment of the192Ir ground state was determined to beQ(192Ir)=+2.12(25) b. The sign of the IrRu electric field gradient was found to be negative as a result of this work.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline indium (nano-In) was prepared with different particle sizes by electrochemical deposition. The temperature dependence of the local electric field gradient (EFG) of nano-In was investigated in a temperature range of 20–300 K using the probe 111In for perturbed γγ angular correlation (PAC) experiments. The temperature dependence of the EFG of nano-In can be described by a (1−BT 3/2) dependence as in bulk-In. It is shown that the low temperature value of the EFG and the proportionality constant B vary systematically with particle size.  相似文献

The nuclear quadrupole interaction of the 8+ isomers in206, 208Po was measured in the semimetallic host Bi. The comparison of the extracted electric field gradient eq for PoBi with the values for the neighboring elements Bi and Pb as probe atoms in Bi reveals a very drastic increase from Pb to Bi and to Po by an order of magnitude: eqPbBi eqBiBi eqPoBi =1.64(10)4.8(3)16(2)(all values at room temperature in units of 1017 V/cm2). This behavior is discussed in terms of the changing number of outerp-electrons of the probe atoms.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the nuclear quadrupole interaction of the188Hg(12+) isomer in a Bi host has been measured by the TDPAD technique. Assuming that the T3/2 law is valid for this system a fit at the high temperature region yields Q(T=0)=132(6) MHz and B=7.2(6)×10–5K–3/2. The electric quadrupole interaction of 19O(Iπ=(5/2)+, T1/2=27.0 s) in TiO2 single crystal was studied in detail by means of the β-NQR to determine the electric quadrupole moments Q of short-lived β-emitting nuclei 19O and 13O(Iπ=(3/2)-, T1/2=8.6 ms). Two implantation sites were found for the implanted O nucleus and the quadrupole coupling constants of 19O at these sites were determined. We observed FT-NMR of the enriched stable isotope 17O in TiO2 and obtained the electric field gradient (EFG) at the oxygen substitutional site. With this knowledge, we have determined Q(13O)=11.0 ± 1.3 mb and Q(19O)=3.7 ± 0.4 mb. The present results are compared with the theoretical values calculated by the shell model code, OXBASH and by the Hartree–Fock calculation with the realistic potential. The defect formation in the bcc metals W and Mo above annealing stage III and the influence of rare gases on this process were investigated by means of the perturbed angular correlation technique using111In as radioactive probe. In both metals a relatively high electric field gradient (EFG) could be observed at the indium site, characterized by the quadrupole interaction frequencies υQ=263 MHz, ν=0 and υQ=220 MHz, ν≈0.15 for W and Mo, respectively. The observations are assigned to the growth of threedimensional vacancy clusters at the probe atoms with the indium atoms situated in the inner surface of this cavities, thus experiencing the corresponding surface EFG.  相似文献

Using Blume's stochastic model and the approach of Winkler and Gerdau, we have computed time-dependent effects on perturbed angular correlation (PAC) spectra due to defect motion in solids in the case ofI=5/2 electric quadrupole interactions. We report detailed analysis for a family of simple models: “XYZ+Z” models, in which the symmetry axis of an axial EFG is allowed to fluctuate among orientations alongx, y, andz axes, and a static axial EFG oriented along thez axis is added to the fluctuating EFGs. When the static EFG is zero, this model is termed the “XYZ” model. Approximate forms are given forG 2(t) in the slow and rapid fluctuation regimes, i.e. suitable for the low and high temperature regions, respectively. Where they adequately reflect the underlying physical processes, these expressions allow one to fit PAC data for a wide range of temperatures and dopant concentrations to a single model, thus increasing the uniqueness of the interpretation of the defect properties. Application of the models is illustrated with data from a PAC study of tetragonal zirconia.  相似文献

The nuclear quadrupole interaction of 204mPb in lead oxides has been measured by γγ time differential perturbed angular correlation. Ab-initio calculations of the electric field gradients and X-ray diffraction allowed the assignment of the detected nuclear quadrupole interactions to the different Pb sites in the PbO phases litharge and massicote as well as in Pb3O4. The TDPAC probe 204mPb was produced with a 204Bi/204mPb-generator at the home laboratory at the University of Leipzig. The use of a high performance liquid chromatography system increased significantly the yield, the specific activity of 204mPb, and reduced the acidic concentration of the eluate.  相似文献
