The reactions pppΛK+ and pppΣ0K+ are studied near their thresholds. The strangeness production process is described by the π- and K exchange mechanisms. Effects from the final state interaction in the hyperon-nucleon system are taken into account rigorously. The Λ production turns out to be dominated by K exchange whereas K- as well as π exchange play an important role for the Σ0 case. It is shown that the experimentally observed strong suppression of Σ0 production compared to Λ production at the same excess energy can be explained by a destructive interference between π and K exchange in the reaction pppΣ0K+. Implications of such an interference on the reaction ppnΣ+K+ are pointed out.  相似文献

The π0 spectrum in the KL0 → 3π decay was measured using a wire chambers magnetic spectrometer. In the usual approximation, the matrix element can be expressed as: M2 ≈ 1 + 2a0(MK/Mπ2)(2Tπ0Tπ0max) + a1(MK2/Mπ4)(2Tπ0Tπ0max)2. We obtained a0 = −0.282 ± 0.011 and a1 consistent with zero.  相似文献

The time-dependence of the decay rate of initially pure K0 into the final state (π+ππ0) has been studied in search for the decay kS0→π+ππ0. No evidence is found in a sample of 384 observed events. The ratio of the CP -violating KS0 amplitude and the KL0 amplitude is η+−0 = (0.13−0.20+0.17) + i(0.17−0.26+0.27); the ratio of the CP-conserving KS0 amplitude and the KL0 amplitude is < 0.4. The energy dependence of the K0→π+ππ0 matrix element is found to be a+−0 = −0.31 ± 0.03.  相似文献

The reactions πp → 2ππ+p, πp → 2ππ+πop and πp → 2π+n are analysed at 11 and 16 GeV/c using longitudinal phase space (LPS) plots. The weighted LPS distributions for πp → 2ππ+p is dominated by two well separated structures corresponding to single diffraction dissociation of the pion, πp → (2ππ+)p, and of the proton, πp → ππ+p). The former is more abundant than the latter, and both are approximately constant with energy. In contrast, processes of type πp → (2π)(πp) decrease with increasing energy.

In the five-body reactions the weighted LPS distribution reveals especially at 16 GeV/c a maximum for single dissociation of the proton into 3πp, namely πp → ππ+πop); this process is likely to be diffractive. The neutron channel has a corresponding maximum displaced toward a multiperipheral configuration πp → π+)n. Another strong maximum corresponds to the pion dissociation πp → (2ππ+πo)p. This is interpreted to be an ω-exchange process because no analogous structure occurs in πp → (2π+)n. Finally, a broad structure reveals double dissociation of both incident particles; it occurs in the two channels πp → (2ππ+)(πop) and πp → (2ππ+)(π+n), being stronger in the latter. Further analysis of this process in terms of isospin exchange suggests that it is partially diffractive. Factorization is also discussed.

The production rate for η′ in ppppη′ at rest is calculated in a covariant one boson exchange model, previously applied to study π0 and η production in NN collisions. The transition amplitudes for the elementary BN → η′N processes with B being the meson exchanged (B = π, σ, η, , ω and a0) are taken to be the sum of s- and u-channels with a nucleon in the intermediate states, and an a0 meson pole in a t-channel. The couplings of the η′ to hadrons are a factor 0.4 weaker than the respective η-hadron couplings, as suggested by a quark model and a singlet-octet mixing angle θ = −23°. The model reproduces near threshold cross sections for the quasielastic processes πpnη(η′) and ppppη(η′) reactions.  相似文献

We study the nonresonant three-body decays of B+D(*)−sK+π+ and BdDs(*)−K0π+. We find that these decays can provide the information on the time-like form factors of D(*)sK. We also explicitly investigate BdDs(*)−K*+ decays by discriminating the nonresonant contributions with the unknown D(*)s wave functions being fixed by the measured mode of BdDsK+.  相似文献

A stack of annular detectors made of high-purity germanium was used to measure simultaneously pd → 3H π+ and pd → 3He π0 differential cross sections at beam momenta of 750 MeV/c, 800 MeV/c, and 850 MeV/c over a large angular range. The extracted total cross sections for the pd → 3He π0 reactions bridge a gap between near threshold data and those in the resonance region. The ratio of the cross sections for the two reaction channels taken at the same η=pcmπ/mπ yields 2.11±0.08 indicating that a deviation from isospin symmetry is very small.  相似文献

Measurements of the elastic scattering π12C between 120 and 280 MeV permit an investigation of the Kisslinger-Ericson π-nuclear optical potential around the (3, 3) resonance. For this analysis nearly all parameters are assumed to be fixed by other reliable measurements resp. evaluations, apart from two parameters for the strength of the gradient potential (complex co). We explore the lines of equal χ2 in the complex co plane and find two solutions. One of them can be interpreted as the physical solution.  相似文献

A parameter-free, nonperturbative calculation of the ΔNγ electromagnetic transition amplitudes GM*(q2), GE*(q2), and the resonant multipole ratio REM(q2)≡E1+3/2(q2)/M1+3/2(q2) is performed in terms of the well-known nucleon isovector Sachs form factor GMV. Our methods are fully relativistic with conservation of the electromagnetic current guaranteed. We find that GM*(q2) decreases more rapidly than the nucleon dipole form factor when −q21 GeV2/c2 and that REM(q2) remains small even for very high four-momentum transfer implying that the perturbative QCD prediction REM(q2)→1 is purely asymptotic and is valid only for extremely high |q2|.  相似文献

We study the cross sections for the production of neneural, intermediate mass Higgs boson in the process pptq′φ, pptWφ and ppbZ0φ in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (φ = H0, h0 and A0) at Supercollider energies. The additional heavy particles (t, W, Z) in the final state can be used for tagging purposes, increasing the signal to background ratio. These reactions are dominated by bg and bg fusion. Their relevance for Higgs particle searches is discussed taking into account the expected efficiencies and purities for b-tagging. We find that, for tan β = 30, the cross sections for ppbZ0φ are larger than 14 pb, over the whole intemediate range of MA0, for A0 and at least one of the other two Higgses. Therefore this reaction is an excellent candidate for the discovery of one or more MSSM Higgs particles.  相似文献

Coherent Λπ production on Pb of 600 GeV Σ hyperons has been studied with the SELEX facility at Fermilab. Using the Primakoff formalism, we set a 90% CL upper limit on the radiative decay width Γ[Σ(1385)→Σγ]<9.5 keV, and estimate the cross section for γΣ→Λπ at  GeV to be 56±16 μb.  相似文献

We study the ρ0 and φ decays into π+πγ, π0π0γ and φ into π0ηγ using a chiral unitary approach to deal with the final state interaction of the MM system. The final state interaction modifies only moderately the large momenta tail of the photon spectrum of the ρ0→π+πγ decay. In the case of φ decay the contribution to π+πγ and π0π0γ decay proceeds via kaonic loops and gives a distribution of ππ invariant masses in which the f0(980) resonance shows up with a very distinct peak. The spectrum found for φ→π0π0γ decay agrees with the recent experimental results obtained at Novosibirsk. The branching ratio for φ→π0ηγ, dominated by the a0(980), is also in agreement with recent Novosibirsk results.  相似文献

We calculate the amplitude of the decays η → π0π+π and η → π0π0π0 to first non-leading order in the low-energy expansion. It is shown that the infrared singularities of chiral perturbation theory strongly enhance the perturbation generated by the quark mass term. The corrections of order ms increase the current algebra prediction for the rate by more than a factor of two and remove the well-known discrepancy between the low-energy theorems of current algebra and experiment.  相似文献

The K-meson production in elementary proton induced reactions is studied exclusively at the external COSY beam using the time-of-flight spectrometer TOF. The complete measurement of all primary and decay particle tracks allows the extraction of total and differential cross sections as well as Dalitz plots and invariant mass spectra of the subsystems for the channels ppK+ Δp, K0Σ+p, K+Σ0p and K+Σ+n. For all channels the full phase space is covered from the reaction threshold up to the COSY-limit of about 3.5 GeV/c. Especially the analysis of the Dalitz plots of the channel ppK+Δp show a strong influence of N* resonances.  相似文献

The arguments are put forward that the many pion decays ω→2π+π0 and π+π0 provide an ideal test site for testing the predictions of chiral models of the vector meson decays into many pions. Using the approach based on the Weinberg Lagrangian or, in a new language, the Lagrangian of hidden local symmetry added with the term induced by the anomalous Lagrangian of Wess and Zumino, the partial widths of these decays are evaluated, and their excitation curves in e+e annihilation are obtained. The discussed are the perspectives of the experimental study of the decays ω→5π in e+e annihilation and photoproduction.  相似文献

We present the results of a study of the exclusive reactions π+ 4He → π 4p (double charge exchange, DCE) and π+ 4He → π+ π 3pn (one-pion production). The experiment was performed with the Oxford/RHEL helium bubble chamber irradiated with a 1.7 GeV/c π+ beam. A general review of DCE models is presented and experimental results at other energies are discussed in the light of these models. None of the existing theoretical models is compatible with out data at 1.7 GeV/c. We propose a new mechanism for DCE, involving three nucleons, which reproduces the integrated as well as the differential cross sections. Data were taken at the energy 2E = 990 MeV to search for multibody events, with the same large solid angle detector which has been used for the measurement of the , ω andφ production by e+e annilations. Assuming a π+ππ0π0 production by the quasi two-body process e+e → → ωπ0 we give the correspondi ng cross section σ(e+e → π+ππ0π0) = (1.1 ± 0.5) 10−32 cm2. Since no events with 3 and 4 charged pions have been observed σ(e+e → π+ππ0π) 1.5 × 10−33 cm2.  相似文献

We analyze the supersymmetric contributions to direct–CP–violating observables in K→ππγ decays induced by gluino–mediated magnetic–penguin operators. We find that ε′+−γ and the differential width asymmetry of K±→π±π0γ decays could be substantially enhanced with respect to their Standard Model values, especially in the scenario where ε′/ε is dominated by supersymmetric contributions. These observables could therefore provide a useful tool to search for New Physics effects in |ΔS|=1 transitions, complementary to ε′/ε and rare decays.  相似文献
