Happy New Year! Happy New Year again! This year is very special for CJCP since it is the 20th anniversary. We have seen a tremendousdevelopment in the field of chemical physics in China in the last 20 years. CJCP has always been there in this important period of development in Chinese science, and CJCP has made significant and important contributions to the development of the chemical physics research field in China. And we certainly will continue to do so in the future. In the beginning of last year, we changed the journal into a full English journal in an effort to enhance the journal impact in the international scientific community. In this transition period, CJCP has encountered many difficulties, and we have also made great progresses. We deeply believe that making CJCP a full English journal is an important step to increase its influence in the international research community. We hope this is the moment of a new start for the great tradition of CJCP to serve the Chinese chemical physics and physical chemistry community, and beyond. Now, our new web based editorial and review system is in place, we hope CJCP will serve our community in a more efficient and direct way (Website: http://cjcp.ustc.edu.cn). With the support of the chemical physics and physical chemistry community, I am confident that this journal will make more significant contributions to the development of the chemical physics researchfield. At this 20th anniversary of CJCP, I want to take this special opportunity to thank many people who have lead this journal through difficulties and triumphs in the most part of the last 20 years, especially the former Editor-in-Chief, Professor Nanquan Lou, and the former senior associate editor, Prof. Shuqin Yu. And I also want to thank the editorial staff members who have made great efforts in producing a high quality scientific journal. At last, I hope everybody who cares about the Chinese chemical physics development will support our effort to make this journal better. Xue-ming Yang Editor-in-Chief February 12, 2007  相似文献

As governments around the world begin to implement regulations aimed at controlling nanotechnology, those regulations should be based upon the best available science, applied as consistently as possible within jurisdictions and, to the extent feasible, across jurisdictions. These goals would be easier to achieve with the creation of an international nanoscience advisory board. Such a body could be modeled on similar international scientific advisory bodies for other issues, such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. Such a body should also take into account lessons learned from these similar organizations. An international nanoscience advisory board could assist regulatory bodies by providing a central source of accurate scientific information about the risks and benefits of nanotechnology, including relevant uncertainties, rather than having each regulatory body make these determinations independently. An international nanoscience advisory board could facilitate harmonization within and between jurisdictions by involving the top experts in the field to produce a centralized knowledge base for regulatory decisions. While an international nanoscience advisory board presents many potential benefits, it also faces significant difficulties, which are best illustrated by examining the history and challenges of existing international science advisory bodies.  相似文献

During my tenure as APS Editor-in-Chief Physical Review Letters changed from a journal whose authors were mostly from the U.S. to one whose authors were mostly from abroad. I encouraged authors to publicize their work even before their papers were accepted for publication. And I sought to raise the quality of the papers that were published even higher than before.  相似文献

The scientific biography of the distinguished physicist experimentalist and prominent expert in the field of neutron nuclear physics Yurii Pavlovich Popov (13.02.1928–24.02.2005) is presented, including his work at Lebedev Physical Institute, AS USSR and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. Yu.P. Popov was a member of the editorial board of the journal Physics of Particles and Nuclei from 1971 to the end of his life.  相似文献

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been regarded as a future superstar for chemical analysis for years due to its unique features such as little or no sample preparation, remote sensing, and fast and multi-element analysis. Chinese LIBS comnmnity is one of the most dynamically developing communities in the World. The aim of the work is to inspect what have been done in China for LIBS development and, based on the understanding of the overall status, to identify the challenges and opportunities for the future development. In this paper, the scientific contributions from Chinese LIBS comlnunity are reviewed for the following four aspects: fimdamentals, instrumentation, data processing and modeling, and applications; and the driving force of LIBS development in China is analyzed, the critical issues for successful LIBS application are discussed, and in our opinion, the potential direction to improve the technology and to realize large scale commercialization in China is proposed.  相似文献

In the past few years Micron has revised the scope of the journal, bringing it back to its original core values when it was founded in 1969. Micron's aim is to be the leading international microscopy and microanalysis journal, covering the latest advances in the fields of biological and physical science. In order to achieve this, the editorial team carefully revised the guidelines to authors in 2011. As a team we now find it timely to report on the outcomes of this policy change.  相似文献
