Competition within the immune system may degrade immune control of viral infections. We formalize the evolution that occurs in both HIV-1 and the immune system quasispecies. Inclusion of competition in the immune system leads to a novel balance between the immune response and HIV-1, in which the eventual outcome is HIV-1 escape rather than control. The analytical model reproduces the three stages of HIV-1 infection. We propose a vaccine regimen that may be able to reduce competition between T cells, potentially eliminating the third stage of HIV-1.  相似文献

Summary Annual and seasonal rainfall data taken in the period 1951–1986 have been spatially averaged over the region Friuli-Venezia Giulia and analysed with the aim of searching for the presence of trends. The results of the two rank tests recommended by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) support the hypothesis of a decreasing trend in the autumn rainfall and, with less probability, an increasing trend in spring.  相似文献

Contribution from the breakup-fusion mechanism to continuum spectra of nuclear reaction is introduced.In this mechanism a two-step process is considered in which the projectile breaks up to two pieces in the field of target,and fusion of one piece with the target is followed.A method of finite range calculation is presented.The comparison of theoretical calculation with experimental data is shown for reactions on light and heavy targets bombarded by α-projectile.The results show that the breakup-fusion mechanism mainly contributes to continuum spectra.  相似文献

An algebra F of generating functionals for sets of symmetric n-point functions is investigated. It contains a twosided ideal T of functionals which vanish on mass-shell. Since scattering processes are described by on-mass-shell values of these functionals, it is proposed to formulate the physical conditions of unitarity, relativity and causality (locality) in terms of elements of the algebra U′ = F/T of equivalence classes modulo T. In Part I the extended form of the unitarity and relativity condition is discussed. An example of the algebra of coherent functionals is considered. A new mathematical model of the operation of a laminar-flow diffusion chamber that includes the homogeneous nucleation (condensation) and growth of new-phase particles (droplets) is studied qualitatively. It is shown that numerical simulation must correctly take into account the concentration and temperature dependences of transport coefficients in a vapor-gas mixture. The domains of applicability of the previous mathematical models of a laminar-flow diffusion chamber are found.  相似文献

As part of the simultaneous analysis of line positions and intensities of the first two polyads of monodeuterated methane, the results achieved for the region 3-5 μm are reported. It involves the three highest fundamentals, (ν1, ν2, ν4), overlapped by overtone (2ν3, 2ν5, 2ν6) and combination (ν36, ν35, ν56) bands. The theoretical model was based on the global tensorial model implemented in the MIRS package. Some 10 000 line positions and 2400 line intensities have been modeled to ±0.000 88 cm−1 and ±3.6% respectively, using measurements obtained at 0.0056 and 0.011 cm−1 resolution with the Fourier transform spectrometer at National Solar Observatory located at Kitt Peak. The strongest band in this polyad is ν4(E) at 3016.7 cm−1 with a strength of 6.3×10−18 cm−1/(molecule cm−2) at 296 K; the weakest band is 2ν3(E) at 2597.7 cm−1 with a strength of 1.9×10−20 cm−1/(molecule cm−2) at 296 K. The total calculated absorption arising from the CH3D nonad is 8.95×10−18 cm−1/(molecule cm−2) at 296 K.  相似文献
