Numerical simulations are used to investigate the propagation of tightly focused megawatt femtosecond light packets in a nonlinear condensed medium in the single-focusing regime. A plasma is shown to be generated in a small region whose length and diameter increase with power in the single-focusing regime of propagation of a femtosecond light packet in a transparent dielectric. The limiting electron density in the microplasma formation region is virtually independent of the laser pulse power but increases with numerical aperture of the focusing optics. At a fixed femtosecond pulse power exceeding the critical self-focusing power, the transmission of light by a dielectric layer decreases with increasing numerical aperture of the focusing optics.  相似文献

A quick and exact imaging method for one-dimensional layered rough surfaces is proposed in this paper to study the scattering characteristics of a layered medium that exists widely in nature.The boundary integral equations of layered rough surfaces are solved by using the propagation-inside-layer expansion combined with the forward and backward spectral acceleration method(PILE+FB-SA),and the back scattering data are obtained.Then,a conventional synthetic aperture radar(SAR) imaging procedure called back projection method is used to generate a two-dimensional(2D) image of the layered rough surfaces.Combined with the relative dielectric permittivity of realistic soil,the random rough surfaces with Gauss spectrum are used to simulate the layered medium with rough interfaces.Since the back scattering data are computed by using the fast numerical method,this method can be used to study layered rough surfaces with any parameter,which has a great application value in the detection and remote sensing areas.  相似文献

Maxwell equations are solved in a layer comprising a finite number of homogeneous isotropic dielectric regions ended by anisotropic perfectly matched layers (PMLs). The boundary-value problem is solved and the dispersion relation inside the PML is derived. The general expression of the eigenvalues equation for an arbitrary number of regions in each layer is obtained, and both polarization modes are considered. The modal functions of a single layer ended by PMLs are found, and their orthogonality relation is derived. The present method is useful to simulate scattering problems from dielectric objects as well as propagation in planar slab waveguides. Its potential to deal with more complex problems such as the scattering from an object with arbitrary cross section in open space using the multilayer modal method is briefly discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, a study of the effect of a transparent dielectric medium (soda-lime glass placed after an objective lens) on femtosecond pulse filamentation in Corning Eagle2000 glass is presented. The dielectric medium placed after the objective lens increases the effective numerical aperture of the focusing lens and tightly focuses the beam to elevate the power density in a tiny focal volume. A single-shot narrow filamentary void of diameter 3.8 μm is observed to propagate as long as 700 μm in Corning Eagle2000 glass. Elevated optical intensity confined in the small focal volume and low ionization losses per unit length in the narrow plasma column collectively enhance the filamentary propagation of the ultra-short pulse in bulk glass. The applied technique also offers an approach to control the length and width of a filamentary void structure in a transparent dielectric medium.  相似文献

针对口径天线及其近区任意厚均匀介质体的复杂系统,应用表面积分方程(SIE)方法结合模式匹配方法(MM)建立了模式激励的新型一体化电磁模型。在馈电端口采取模式匹配方法模拟了波导中的激励情况,将金属壁处理为理想导电体,并在金属壁上利用边界条件建立电场积分方程(EFIE);利用零场等效原理在介质体内外表面分别建立电场积分方程和磁场积分方程(MFIE),并组合内外表面建立的电场积分方程和磁场积分方程为PMCHW方程;最后使用矩量法对所建立的EFIE-PMCHW-MM组合方程进行求解。文中结合喇叭天线设计了两个典型算例,所提混合方法 EFIE-PMCHW-MM给出的数值结果与商用软件FEKO高度一致,且在求解口径天线与近区厚介质体耦合问题时由于未知量显著减少,大幅度提高了仿真效率,降低了计算机资源消耗。  相似文献

蜂窝夹芯结构作为天线罩最常用的透波材料, 其电各向异性特征对电磁传输性能具有不可忽略的影响. 本文基于各向异性蜂窝夹芯材料对电磁波水平极化和垂直极化分量的有效介电常数, 建立了多层蜂窝夹芯材料的等效传输线网络传输方程, 并给出了其传输系数的计算公式.该计算公式由于考虑了材料的三维各向异性特征, 不仅理论上可以计算多层各向异性介质板对任意方向入射电磁波的传输系数, 而且能够揭示出材料方向角对传输性能的影响规律.同时, 通过传输线网络等效, 其计算效率远高于有限元等方法.数值算例表明, 本方法能够有效地揭示蜂窝夹芯材料的各向异性对其传输性能的影响, 计算结果在入射角为0°–80° 时与有限元法符合很好. 关键词: 电磁传输性能 电各向异性介质 蜂窝夹芯材料  相似文献

The effect of macroscopic parameters of a substance on the optical characteristics of impurity particles is investigated. A generalized control equation is derived for two-level emitters forming an ensemble of optical centers in a transparent dielectric medium. In this equation, the effective values of the acting pump field and the radiative relaxation rate of an optical center are taken into account. The formalism developed here is a completely microscopic approach based on the chain of the Bogoliubov-Born-Green-Kirkwood-Yvon equations for reduced density matrices and correlation operators for material particles and modes of a quantized radiation field. The method used here makes it possible to take into account the effects of individual and collective behavior of emitters, which are associated with the presence of an intermediate medium, consistently without using phenomenological procedures. It is shown that the resultant analytic expression for the effective lifetime of the excited state of an optical center conforms with experimental data.  相似文献

A new method is proposed to study the macroscopic ac fields in the elements of thin-film ferroelectric-dielectric heterostructures during their electric switching. For this purpose, the local field surrounding dielectric molecules is measured. It is important that the dielectric has a characteristic very narrow molecular absorption band, which is used as an electric-field probe. The heterostructure under study consists of a glass substrate, a transparent electrode, a 170-nm-thick layer of polymer ferroelectric, a 40-nm-thick dielectric layer, and a semitransparent electrode. Both functional layers are grown by the Langmuir-Blodgett method. An ac electric field is applied to the electrodes, and the local field having appeared in the dielectric is measured by the electroabsorption method. With allowance for the Lorentz factor, the local field is easily converted into the macroscopic field in the dielectric layer and, then, in the ferroelectric layer. The classical Sawyer-Tower scheme is used as an additional tool to determine the surface charge to be switched at the dielectric-ferroelectric interface.  相似文献

Propagation of short pulses of electromagnetic radiation in a transparent medium with a frequency dispersion is considered for the linear and nonlinear modes. The role of back reflection of radiation in the spectral regions with the negative dielectric constant was clarified. We demonstrate an efficient method of mid-IR femtosecond-laser-pulse self-compression in transparent dielectrics based on a suitable selection of the parameters of the medium and laser radiation. We discuss the principle of selection of the nonlinear medium for ultrashort-pulse self-compression. We show that the proposed combination of the Kerr nonlinearity and negative group-velocity dispersion in a set of transparent dielectric crystals (CaF2, BaF2, YAG, etc.) provides a compression of the incident laser pulse to a 1–2 cycle pulse width.  相似文献

为能够较好的计算混合介质等效复介电常数和复磁导率, 提出了一种基于等效电路理论的阻抗模拟方法.导出了材料的电磁参数与材料容抗、感抗之间的对应关系, 并建立了能够较完整、精确地刻画实际复合材料的模型.通过求解混合介质的等效阻抗, 进一步反演其等效电磁参数.将计算结果与经典理论公式以及基于有限差分的数值方法进行了比较, 结果都符合得很好, 说明该方法可以用于计算材料的等效电磁参数.另外, 引入薄膜层结构来刻画表面效应等因素, 使得计算结果更加符合实验结果, 弥补了经典公式在这方面的不足, 同时也体现了该方法在刻画实际模型时所具有的优势. 关键词: 等效电磁参数 阻抗模拟 等效电路 混合介质  相似文献

A photo-modulated reflectivity method is used to evaluate thermal properties of bilayered structures composed of transparent films deposited on opaque substrates. In order to calculate the photo-modulated reflectivity variations of the bilayered structures induced by focused modulated laser irradiations, a 3-D theoretical model is presented. Due to the complexity of the 3-D theory, a finite element method is used to simulate the laser-induced temperature fields, thermoelastic displacement fields and dielectric constant variations, and finally the photo-modulated reflectivities. Then a quantitative investigation of the thermal properties of the transparent films deposited on opaque substrates can be performed by the experimental measurements and theoretical simulations. A analytic method of the eguivalent network for RF sapphire window of 3mm diffraction radiation oscillator is given in the paper. Numerical simulate and experiment are carried out on 3mm wave band. The testing results show that the design method agrees with the practical windows, and it is the fast optimum method. We employ the universal method, the piece of the window can be equal to dielectric waveguide and one end of the window connects the coupling slit of the mirror of open cavity. The design window by means of this method is used satisfactorily on 3mm DRO. The tube operates in the 84 – 108GHZ band, the output power is about 250mW.  相似文献

Indium tin oxide (ITO) layers are widely used to make electrodes in measuring cells, because these layers are transparent and electrooptical investigations can be performed using such prepared cells. It was found during the dielectric spectroscopy measurements, performed for smectic liquid crystalline mixture, that it is not possible to detect some important relaxation modes in paraelectric SmA*, ferroelectric SmC*, and antiferroelectric SmCA* phases for the frequencies higher than 300 kHz. The measuring cell does not allow to measure relaxations, because its own dielectric behaviour covers the dielectric response of a liquid crystalline medium. One can observe the spurious contribution for high frequency part of the dielectric spectrum, due to the finite resistance of ITO layers. The theoretical model was introduced, which shows how to calculate relaxations related to liquid crystals from dielectric response of the empty and filled measuring cell. The proof of strong influence of cell properties on effective (measuring) values of dielectric permittivities was shown.  相似文献

The tunable two-dimensional photonic crystals band gap, absolute photonic band gap and semi-Dirac point are beneficial to designing the novel optical devices. In this paper, tunable photonic band gaps structure was realized by a new type two-dimensional function photonic crystals, which dielectric constants of medium columns are functions of space coordinates. However for the two-dimensional conventional photonic crystals the dielectric constant does not change with space coordinates. As the parameter adjustment, we found that the photonic band gaps structures are dielectric constant function coefficient, medium columns radius, dielectric constant function form period number and pump light intensity dependent, namely, the photonic band gaps position and width can be tuned. we also obtained absolute photonic band gaps and semi-Dirac point in the photonic band gaps structures of two-dimensional function photonic crystals. These results provide an important theoretical foundation for design novel optical devices.  相似文献

A structure of active planar metallic-dielectric array is proposed to manipulate the propagation of light beam by tuning the phase of output light. The dielectric in the array is set as an electro-optical material so that the refractive index can be changed by applied voltage based on the electro-optical effect. While the light propagates through the array, the surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) are excited and the waveguide modes with variant propagation constants are formed in the dielectric regions to provide desired phase retardations. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used to numerically simulate the tunable phase characteristic of output light. The results show that, by adjusting the applied voltage on the dielectric regions, the angle compensation and beam focusing phenomena can be easily implemented, and the tunability of focal length is investigated in detail as an example. It is helpful for the design of actively-controlled plasmonic devices.  相似文献

The authors' theory of a solvent's influence on heavy particle charge transfer reactions in polar solvents with complex frequency-dependent dielectric constant is applied to treat the dielectric friction on a moving ion. The aim is to demonstrate a relation between the approach used in the theory and other approaches used for treating solute-solvent Coulomb interactions. As a result Zwanzig's formula is recovered. In addition, because this formula is derived by the other method, the relationship between the dielectric friction and the dynamics of nonequilibrium solvent polarization is demonstrated in a very transparent manner.  相似文献

采用带法兰结构的TE01n圆柱谐振腔,用无损检测的方法测量薄板型微波介质材料的复介电常数。利用轴向模式匹配法对谐振腔内的电磁场进行了求解,给出了相对介电常数和损耗角正切的计算公式,并利用矢量网络分析仪对几种常用微波介质材料进行了测量,其结果表明:该测量方法对相对介电常数的测量误差不超过1%,而对损耗角正切的测量误差不超过10%。该方法还具备一腔多模的测试能力,测量频率可调,可用于介质材料频率特性的测量。  相似文献

本文以鉴别机械剥离法制备的高质量石墨烯样品的层数为例, 阐明了如何利用传输矩阵来计算二维原子晶体薄片样品的光学衬度, 并进一步精确地鉴别其层数. 计算结果表明测试时所选用的显微物镜数值孔径对精确确定薄片样品的层数非常重要, 并为实验所证实. 同时提出了使用两个激光波长可以快速地表征样品尺寸接近物镜衍射极限的薄片样品层数的方法. 本文所采用的传输矩阵形式非常适合于计算二维原子晶体薄片样品的光学衬度, 并可以方便地推广到更复杂的多层衬底结构, 以便快速和准确地鉴别各种衬底上二维原子晶体薄片样品的厚度. 关键词: 二维原子晶体材料 层数 传输矩阵 光学衬度  相似文献
